I know that I am going to be verbally destroyed for asking this but...
lol
I have an AT&T Tilt. Is there any single android distribution that has Working sound, wifi, camera, keypad, gps etc. I've tried a few different versions and each seems to have something good and something bad. Feel free to burn me up with flames of hatred, but hopefully I can get a clear answer somewhere in the inferno
Thanks!

Myn's Warm Donut is near perfect (android 1.6). The only problem I've noticed with it is that the battery status is inaccurate, but that's true for all android builds for the kaiser to my knowledge. Other than that, it runs perfectly fine, very stable and quick, even from the sd card.
Fantastic Thanks!
I'm an idiot, wrong thread ;0
kallt_kaffe produces excellent kernel binaries and VanilijEclair is great!
Alright next question. Everything works but the sound. I can go in to adjust the volume, but when I try to leave that menu option I get "Activity Sound & Display (in application Settings) is not responding."
And in the jewels game I can not hear any sound either.
Any ideas?

are you running haret? currently (to my knowledge) sound does not work.
updating your radio, if its not already, could help
I also have an AT&T Tilt.
To answer your question, it's all about the kernel.
Look for DZO's kernels, and use the newest.
If you use Haret get the newest zImage and pay attention to the correctly editing the txt file where things have to be configured correctly for a Tilt.
If you burn to internal flash, use the NZH editor.
sound: yes
wifi: yes
camera: yes
keypad: yes
gps: yes
Right now I have an ATT Tilt running VaniljEclair with the 6/25 dzo nbh file edied with the nbh editor for my panel type.
Build from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=700669
NBH from here: http://it029000.massey.ac.nz/vogue/files/?C=M;O=D

Has anyone tried running the latest zimages under haret? I've tried warm eclair and superfroyo, and both are having the same problem: If I put the phone to sleep, I get a solid white screen when I wake it up. Every time.
Frustrating that the latest distros of Android are unusable on my phone, warm donut worked like a charm.

Actually as far as I am aware this only affects panel 2 and 3, which appear very similar, but use slightly different power management signals, so if you use panel 2 on a device with panel 3, it looks fine, but suffers from strange issues when waking, although I have not heard any issues with setting panel 3 on a panel 2 device yet... maybe I should try it, just for research purposes
I get a solid white background as well, but it goes away after half a second.
I hate to reopen a dying thread but. . .
I have tried 5 different roms, from donut up, and have tried the roms suggested in this thread. I cannot get the camera on my tilt to work for anything. Not a single install has yeilded a working camera. I have the latest radio, newest froyo_tilt kernal, and im using VaniljEclair_RLS7c. . .i get nothing. . .nada. . .is there a fix anywhere for this damnable tilt camera?
Using a froyo kernel on an eclair build results in a non-working camera, you should be using an eclair kernel.
hmm. seems common sense. . .i will be annoyed if that is the issue. . .all the guides say grab the latest kernel and use the nbh editor to set parameters to whatever build ver. I will try the eclair kernel. thank you zenity
OMG common sense ftw!! sorry to waste your time with this, I really appreciate it! gravy!
No problem, it has been mentioned in a few other threads, but it's not that easy to find, unless you are a forum addict like myself
Note that when using the nbh editor, setting donut or eclair refers to the HW3d option only, since donut and eclair have different 3d settings.
And it's never wasted time, someone else with the same problem may read this, so it helps everyone
yea, helped me just now, doing exact same, using froyo nbh with donut,
thanks

This is a legend port, aiming to be a clean Sense 2.2 release with at least all hardware stuff working. The camera is a tough cookie and for now I can't get it to work. Might find time to continue to work on this in the future, but it will take time if ever.
Native (froyo) app2sd should work for apps which support it. Old school app2sd should work if you have a ext2/3/4 partition.
Default speed is 614/352 (smartass) - use SetCPU or similar app to change this.
Download:
Sengle-0.7.2 (Multiupload)
Sengle-0.7.2 (Desean)
Instructions:
I have flashed this over my old version (Sengle 0.7) and it seems to work fine.
If you have problems which are not in the known issues, you might want to try to do a full wipe (data, cache and ext partition) and install it cleanly.
Note: even if you do not wipe anything the dalvik cache is rebuilt, so the first boot will be very slow - have patience. Additionally, I had one restart of the sense and sound not working on the first boot. It was fixed after the second reboot.
Changes:
- Compcache enabled (should help avoid sense reloading)
- JIT enabled
- Wifi hack cleaned up (no more "error" when disabling wifi)
- RTL fix updated (also fixes Gmail and such now)
- Reboot menu (same one that was optional in 0.7)
- Cleanups by Elelinux for the setup wizard and widgets, as well as the identity of the hero and keypad.
- New install script by Elelinux
Regarding JIT: I have enabled JIT, even though the legend official sense, which this ROM is based on, is not built for sense.
HTC, wakeup! JIT was added in 2.2, and today 2.3 was released....
Anyway let me know if you find any trouble with this.
Known Bugs/Problems:
OpenGL issues
Camera
Wifi hotspot
LWP
Google navigation exits when showing the map, GPS Status exits randomly, Google Sky Map fails to load
Sound with navigation programs (or something like this)
Voice recorder says storage full.
Notification lights problems (I thought I got this one working )
Let me know if you find any further/new major problems (not just another 3rd party which does work)....
Future
For now I have given up on the major problems with this ROM. I will try to find some time to get back to this in the future but I'll be surprised if there is another update any time soon (I have a lot on my plate right now both in hero/android development and in RL).
History
Sengle-0.7 (Multiupload)
Sengle-0.7 (Desean)
Reboot Menu (included in 0.7.2)
RTL Fix (superseded by new fix in 0.7.2)
Compcache enabler (included in 0.7.2)
Thanks
This ROM is based on the MoDaCo r4 release for the legend. It was prepared in collaboration with capychimp and seo, and much of this port is thanks to them . Some cleanups and fixes by Elelinux (also install script ).
Cool dude! Trying it out now!
Oh no.. me second.. anyways will check this out now
Edit:

camera is not working as stated
Wifi connected brilliantly and displayed my network tmobile uk. so looks good
I dont do app2sd so cant comment on that

I think BT audio is one thing.
What are the big problems with bihariel's froyo sense other than BT audio and camera (which is still broken )?
But do note, this is a completely different build. bihariel's froyo sense is based on the Aria port and this is a legend port....
bihariel's froyo is laggy as hell, and froze all the time when i tried it out, so i hope your work is much better
cuz im using your froyo and thats awesome ROM so i expect this ROM is also gut
How does it work? Is it smooth? Is there problem with caller recognisation as in bihariel's Sense? What about battery?

Sorry have no idea about any of those. For me its slower than the CM6-based ROMs (like floyo) - but what can you do sense is pretty but slow . Too soon for me to know about battery life.
Let me know if you find any problems (except camera) and I'll see if I can do something about it, although my powers are limited because we don't have sources for sense....
Great news !
I will flash it in the morning and report
Good work !

Greetings,
Flashing now to see how it goes,
I have been after 2.2 with sense for some time now but was never sure,
How ever i know you have done some nice work erasmux,
Will report back soon.
Erasmux thank u very much fir this great work. The ROM is really fast. Keep it up..
Have to say Erasmux
On first impressions this is sweet,
No major issues other than the cam,
All else seems to work grand.
thanks for the great work... no major issues so far..
will take it out later and how it performs...
Thanks for the great work! The ROM is really nice!
So far here's what I can see:
- Camera and Wifi hotspot don't work, as you mentioned.
- LWP don't work. Won't even show a preview.
- Google Navigation exits as soon as the map appears.
- GPS Status app (installed from market) exits randomly but sometimes manages to get a fix and keep running
- Much like in the Aria-based ROM there seems to be a problem with the time setting. My region is in DST and when I set the clock to update from the network it keeps changing from DST and back. It seems there is some "fighting" going on where the networks sets the correct DST time zone and something comes along and changes it back to non-DST.
Other than that everything seems fine.
Sensors, keypad backlight, Wifi, calls, 3G data, market, HTC apps and widgets seem to work very well.
Overall it's pretty stable and fast.
The ROM works great except I found after launching several programs, returning to home will see the HTC white screen then restart of Sense home.
btw, the Linpack score is around 2.56 with default CPU clock setting. Is JIT not enabled in Sense 2.2 ROMs?
Thumbs up Erasmux, thanks for this. Slick

Thankfully MIUI made their FM Radio app available for Cyanogen, and it works pretty good.
As I understand from a post either here on XDA or on Cyanogen's forum/wiki, MIUI no longer develops this app.
I am grateful for the FM Radio app - but it could be even better, and even more unfortunate is that I have zero programming skills so I can't do it myself...
So i was wondering if anyone are currently working on improving this app, or if anyone could have a look...
What I have found lacking is
- no search/scan function (at least I haven't found it!)
- the stereo/mono selector in Settings doesn't seem to do anything, broadcasts are still in stereo (mono is preferred when signal/reception is low to improve sound quality)
and features I would like to see are
- RDS support (I'm pretty sure the radio chip is capable, as I remember that the stock radio app gave me the RDS name of the station I listened to), both giving name/program type and ability to automatically change to a better frequency (the app has an "Alternate freq" setting today, but I don't think it does anything)
- auto store, like when I visit another city it would be great to have the app do a quick scan of the FM band and store the 5/10/20 strongest stations
- more presets (five are a bit few)
Of course I will be more than happy to alfa or beta test and provide feedback, but that's about it...
No, wait - I would also gladly pay $10 for an improved radio app.
Thanks,
Christopher

I have an FM app that should be ready for beta testing in the next few days.
It was alpha tested successfully a few weeks ago on the HTC Legend and some other HTC phones.
Unfortunately for you at this time, my app is written for the Texas Instruments FM chip.
AFAIK, the Desire devices use the Broadcom chip. But I'm hoping to add support for the BC chips soon. I think I'll get a Desire HD as my reference platform for Broadcom chips.
Stay tuned...
how's the matter?
I miss the FM radio app on the older MIUI builds. Would love to see it come back!

Anybody still working on this?
Is there any way to get a / the old fm radio.apk working on MIUI 1.4.x?

I've ported my "Spirit FM Radio" app to the Samsung Galaxy S (Si4709).
Everything else is working, including RDS, but audio routing issues remain.
It's working better on the Darky ROM. On CM7, the audio may or may not work for you.
I have the Canadian Bell/Virgin Mobile i9000M model, but it should work on the other i9000's I think.

Can you give me any details, and/or email your logs to me using the "Email Logs" function ?
What debug info is shown at startup ? It starts with "FM:"
If it's not too difficult, I can try the Insanity ROM. I'm getting tired of this awful CM7 port...
EDIT: Just installed Insanity CM34 and my app is working fine using the SamsungCM7 Audio Method. UI is stretched some places and compressed others, but it works as expected.
Just switched to CM7_SGS_NEO_09-redux_v5 and it's still working good.
My fixes for FM frequency response aren't working because there is no /sys/devices/virtual/misc/voodoo_sound/wm8994_write control.
August 21 version. Has some minor adjustments.
http://www.mediafire.com/file/wuac9bb7l2un15u/Spirit_FM_Radio_v110821.apk
Frequency response is better on stock CM7 or Insanity kernel. I tried the latest Neo 16 kernel and it's OK too.
One known issue is that audio dies after 1 hour. Toggling Mute/Unmute fixes it for another hour.
Audio also dies if you enter Settings screen or Email Logs.

Messed with the settings first and made the mistake of selecting "All" under "Audio Method" which resulted in a high pitched squeal. Set to SamsungDarky and rebooted.

HELL YEAH!!!
Spirit FM works flawlessly on my Galaxy S, the sound quality is heaps better than the default MIUI FM. It doesn't even turn on Bluetooth, and the startup time is impressive. Audio doesn't stop playing if i enter either Setting or Email or other apps. Been playing for half an hour. Good job mikereidis!!! What a shame, just bought a radio, then suddenly Spirit Fm works (
Tested on Insanity 34. Will report later if there are bugs.
Just found out one thing, not sure it is a bug or a feature: if i scroll the frequency tune bar, the audio stop playing, and it is quite laggy. And the Signal bar on top left corner doesn't indicate anything, and there is a number beside it keeps changing.
Will wait for the stable version, then I will buy Spirit FM.

The main frequency indicator/control is at the top, Below it is a fine tune control.
When you tap the main frequency indicator/control, the app does a tune to that frequency, then a seek up to find a station. At present my seek function blocks. Hopefully I can make it non-blocking.
So for now, it's best not to drag on this indicator/control, or blocking operations may pile up. Just tap it.
The fine tune thumbwheel is meant to be dragged.

Great !
The CM (and MIUI) ROMs and kernels don't fix a problem Samsung had with the FM in earlier stock builds.
The FM path is set for cell voice bandwidth, and cuts out the highs and lows. In the Aug 21 version I added commands that restore the frequency response.
I hope CM will fix this soon; My code is just a workaround, and potentially fragile.
version August 24 is now on the Market: https://market.android.com/details?id=com.mikersmicros.fm&feature=search_result
I hope the audio is more stable on CM7 now.
I'm not sure if phone calls still cause audio issues. It appears I need to install a Radio/Modem that supports Bell Canada.
i will give it a try with Cm9 nightly, hope it works

Please note that Galaxy S GT-i9000 has a risk of speaker damage when using Spirit on most non-stock derived ICS and JB ROMs. See this for more details: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=13380066&postcount=3
Other than this issue, Spirit works on just about any ROM for i9000. Some audio issues may be experienced however.
My main thread is here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=13380058#post13380058
This thread is a year old and I will close it after this post.
I'm new to using a rooted device and installing custom ROMS, and I love it!
I've loaded the latest Blackout ICS version 3.0.0, and am really impressed by how well it works. I immediately noticed that battery life is better than anything I've used previously, always different versions of Gingerbread. So that's a big improvement straight away. As others have highlighted, it's a bit laggy at times, but I overclocked the CPU and it runs much more smoothly. Even just 1.2 GHZ produced a noticeable improvement, and I'm now on just under 1.5 GHz, which I gather is a safe setting. I was worried about this affecting battery life, but if it has it's barely noticeable. I suppose it only runs at the fastest speed when it needs to.
The only problem with the ROM is the auto-brightness, which jumps up and down even in fixed light conditions. Not sure if the developers pick these threads up, but that is really the only issue I've found.
As the DHD seems to be the only device not to be getting an official port of ICS, I'd definitely recommend giving this ROM a try.
With all these other devices getting updates, is it likely that more fully working ICS ports for the DHD will be on the horizon?
Really? You get better battery? I suspect i get a little less battery time...

You should also try AOSPX and Nik Project X. The first one is stock ICS and the second one is ICS with Sense 4.0. I tried both of em and they work flawlessly on my DHD.
Haven't tried Blackout yet because I saw in the thread that there were still quite a few issues to be solved.

Edit: Did a quick test and I 'm getting 3,6Mb down / 1,6Mb up (inside a server room right now so not the best connection). Seems quite normal for my network (7,2Mb is max speed I can get from my provider). Of course the max HSDPA speed is alot higher but that 's something I cannot test.
Hi,
I've just installed, and recovered my apps, as i've wiped battery calibration i cannot talk about it, but OC is excellent. Even in default frequency the desktop turns without any lags, but as you mentionned, sometime there are some lags (typing on keyboard for instance) but i guess it's linked to the OC profile changing , try in performance instead of on demand, this should solve that.
Regarding the brightness i agree , it seems it change on "i don't know which parameter" from bright to low brightness.. so i've installed Bright day app to set the brightness along the day at low value and i've set on the main desktop the brightness widget to up from system parameters to push it up when i need, then bright day will recover the setting after a while..

So after few days of testing here are my feelings :
Takeing account of deamon set to 1,2Ghz, i can still reach 1d and half near 2days without charging , with a light use :
Allways connected to network though HSDPA (as i take train it often check the network to change the connected cell)
Playing 20-30min 3times a days to Pirates of carabean (3D game multiplayer so connecting to the network)
Surfing a bit
no music
no video
With an harder use i reached 1d wake up to sleep:
still same network condition
playing double time at least (1 to 1,5h 3times a days)
Surfing more (1h)
no music an no video
using battery eater apps (windguru) a bit
to resume my feeling on battery is excelent, i've noticed a light improvement on idle battery drop, a bit accelerated over time (due certainly to used app remaining processes.
Let's go now to the issue i've noticed :
-Back tactil button doesn't work on phone screen while it works everywhere else
-Using smoth rosie to supersmooth show a light display trouble when reducing the app drawer windows (doubling the reducing animation)
-Light keyboard trouble doubling the A letter some time (like if the touchscreen has been typed twice when its not the case)
-blackout tweak shortcut from top task bar doesn't linked (need to go through the app drawer to access it)
-Folder creation missing from widget/app shortcut addition screen (or i didn't found it) , i use the moving app on another icon to create it (i don't know if it's the ICS new way of creating folder on desktop)
The plus i've found (don't know if it's an ICS feature) : create a folder in the lower task bar : can jump from 4 shortcut to full app contained in your phone accessible from the locked screen : I loved that !
The overall impression is really great and for an old phone that "doesn't give a good experience of ICS" following HTC, i feel this ROM fullfill my expectation from ICS on my Desire HD !
Many thanks to the Blackout team !

Haha.. very funny pub..
Btw, testing further again, i've found the sms issue (from my point of view it was linked to transferring sms not to content,) I'll give a try to the 3.1 to chek this out
I confirm the keyboard double "a" in certain text box, particularly in sms typing or web address typing
Lags linked to overclocking

Yes. Some can't send at all. Some have data drop in and out while sending and some have no issues. Seems weird to me since the hardware is supposed to be the same for the most part. I think apn and radio combo has the most to do with it.
Sent from my Inspire 4G using xda premium
Love this ROM...
This ROM would be my daily driver if the Wifi hot-spot worked. Has anyone found a work-around or fix? Wifi Tether didn't work either btw. I know it's WIP by the devs but they said it wasn't a major priority for them (Boooooo lol) Fingers crossed for v3.2
As noticed recently in the official thread, i've also noticed the magical battery jumps, i first guessed it was linked to the battery calibration wipe i've done before to flash the Blackout3.0 rom, but i can sometime still see this trouble also.
It happen even phone is in use but every time inbetween 30 and 5 percent of battery left. it goes down to low then readjust it to an higher value without any reason.
The phenomen come back lately less often, but maybe devs can check this out. I'm running on a SFR Desire HD recognized as an incredible S on the 3.0 rom.
