I have a custom splash screen flashed now and I have 2 roms (Fresh and CM6) I nandroid restore between depending on my mood. Now for my question I flashed my custom splash on Fresh will it stay if I restore to CM6 or is that something that is backed up and I would have to make a new back up of Fresh and then restore to CM6 and flash the splash in CM6? Sorry if its a bit confusing.
Edit: Ok I just backed up and restored and it stayed.
when i was flashing my splash it stayed no matter wat rom i flashed i never backed up
and ive done a data factory reset before zand my custom splash was still there
only have a ran a sprint ruu and it took it off but it also unrooted my phone to
i dont think it matters about roms

So got my G2 today, rooted, installed Hboot, started up the phone, logged into all my accounts, got stuff how I wanted. Made a backup via Clockwork.
Then I tried out CM7 Nightlies, decided its pretty good but I wanted to go back to my backup. Loaded into Clockwork hit recover, picked my backup. The phone then just sits on the HTC screen. Never going to the G2 screen or getting back into the OS. I can't get a logcat from it either to see if it is crashing. I can get back into recovery, and flash another rom, but why isn't my backup of my original image working? There are no errors when restoring, I've tried a few times.

If you are using CM7, does this mean you upgraded to one of the CWM3 recoveries? Not sure if this has changed, but backups made with the older CWM2 recoveries are not compatible with CWM3. You will need to reflash back to the older recovery before restoring your backup (pretty sure there are lots of warnings about this in the CWM3/CM7 threads, so you should probably check those out to see if this is no longer the case).
I used CWM3 to make the backup, i assumed that would work to restore it.
EDIT: Okay. so CWM3 can't handle ANY Froyo, regardless of if the backup was made with it. Misunderstood that part. Flashed to CWM32 and it worked. Thanks.
im not sure what i did wrong here...i updated my radio prl pri and wimax but i used the combo...and then i reflashed to a stock rooted rom 4.24.651.1-deodex-20110712-signed and now my phone will not restore or reflash back to MIUI...im not sure at all what to do..i can get in to recovery.. and reflash roms but it just sits on the "HTC EVO 4G" screen. also flashing other roms will not work either.
ok i redid the recovery and nandroid restored and now its just just going back to recover.
i got it to work...used Team Win RECOV (FTW)...thanks anyways..
I installed kings rom with the 3.0 sense. I only put a few app on it and it was working great. I wanted 2 do a backup before I used titanium back up 2 restore the rest of my apps. After i did a back up, it is stuck on the white screen. This is the third time in a row this happened..I did the backup from rom manager which took me into clock recovery. I can still go into recovery put system isn't booting. Any suggestions?? Thanks
Dump ROM Manager and CWM. Get Amon Ra.
Wipe EVERYTHING, except SD Card
Reflash your ROM
Seem the boot may be corrupted; you'll have to wipe everything [cache, data/factory, dalvik cache] then re-flash your rom.
I haven't used clockwork in about a year I've stuck with amon ra and my boot is corrupted I've dumped everything five times and still if I want to flash a mod or anything in recovery I have to reflash my ROM . Any suggestions would be appreciated .
Have you run a RUU on your phone lately?? A few months ago, mine was acting up like that (not as bad) where my recovery got corrupted a few times out of the blue, so I ran the RUU (Without using S-Off tool, btw) and basically started over and all has been fine since.
Also, this may seem silly, but i alwasy flash ROMS from my Stock/Rooted setup, not whatever current ROM I'm using.
What's an ruu?
It's an image of the out-of-the-box stock setup for your phone. It's basically starting from scratch
Thanks..I re flashed and its fine now...
Hi, guys, I have the flashing of custom roms down to an art now, but I'm trying to return to stock and now i have bootloops. I wiped the cache and dalvik cache, and wiped user data. I then selected to restore my nandroid backup, which was successful, but now I'm stuck in a bootloop when attempting to power on. It still shows my custom splash screen for a second then switches to stock splash screen and continues with the boot. Once it fully boots then it will reset. When I changed the splash screen I did use the p32img.zip method, but before I did the restore I renamed it so it wouldn't load it. Any ideas why it still shows my custom splash, and more importantly, what am I doing wrong to create the bootloops. I've considered just flashing a stock rom to replace my nandroid just in case I backed it up incorrectly (which is possible since this is my first phone I've done this on). Any suggestions or help would be much appreciated.
What ROM was your backup? Restoring a nandroid won't change the splash.

it was the just the stock rom. 2.3.4 gingerbread. strange thing i just noticed is that if i boot into bootloader then connect to pc and reboot, then it won't bootloop....why is that? should i just flash a different stock rom and set that as my backup or are there things in the original nandroid that are specific to my phone? thanks for the reply by the way.

Did you downgrade with tacoroot? Try flashing the .0312 radio.
So I have been switching roms between CM10 and the stock rom, and today, I decided to switch from CM10 to stock. Which means that I made a titanium backup of my apps so I could transfer. When I transfered to stock and restored all my apps, I did a reboot...and now its stuck on the boot screen. Any suggestions? I know I can still use CWM....but how exactly do I use it to fix my problem? I don't want to redo this whole stock ROM thing again...it'll be a pain
Hopefully I made a backup on center, if not you will have to flash stock recovery
