I attend a university that uses gwise for email. I have recevied emails forwarded it to gmail. I want to be able to respond to those emails but have it sent from the university email address.
Can always setup your gmail account to send replies "as if from" gwise
in gmail settings>accounts and imports>send mails as
"When receiving a message:
Reply from the same address the message was sent to "
hope that helps

I currently have Yahoo as an email account setup in my mailbox. I can retrieve mail no problem but outgoing mail is "lost". It sends fine but my recipients don't get anything I send them.
I try sending mail to my Gmail account and all seems fine.
Does anyone have Yahoo setup? What is your server account info? I could have sworn I was able to send email a few days ago but not anymore.

Try setting the outgoing server to "cwmx.com" It is for AT&T users using the Official AT&T rom. I was having trouble with that issue but it was with AOL and cox.net, not yahoo. Is this what you are using? http://mobile.yahoo.com/go
I am looking to forward my personal email address through Yahoo because of their Spam filtering. I've got Thunderbird setup with Webmail/Yahoo extension so I can check my Yahoo email.
Question for ya'll. Is there a way that the Yahoo Mail app could be setup where when I click reply, the replied message has my personal email address not my Yahoo email address? or will I need to modify my signature to state to reply back to my personal email address?
If you understand what I am asking, awesome. If there is some other app I can pull this off with, please say so.
Hello
Facebook has his own mail server now, does anyone knows how to set up email server on phone? is it pop3 or imap? I tried to send mail from my Gmail account to facebook account and the mail arrived !
you can either receive a text or login on your phone at the moment to receive email.
but don't forget to change your privacy settings so you can receive them off external senders.

Hello!
Did you configure email server's Facebook on your phone? I'm interested to know how.
Thank you.
Hey everyone, Im a noob sorry if this has been answered I did a search but couldn't find an answer.
For my hotmail account, I noticed emails do not arrive as they are received. I send myself a couple of emails from my computer and my phone does not get it. I currently have my inbox check frequency at "every 5 minutes"
If this means that it will only receive emails every 5 minutes is there a way to change it to as they arrive?
Thanks in advanced.

I don't have the email app installed as I don't use it so I can't look into it myself but, wherever you set you check frequency is where that change will be made; if the most frequent setting is 5min then that's all you can get. Granted, the app may have a "check now" option (most do), but that would be manual.

If the most frequent fetch time you can find is "every 5 min" then that's what you're stuck with unless you manually refresh.
If you were to forward them to gmail then the gmail account will push email to your device. The gmail app actually has the ability to push rather than just do a timed sync. But in this case remember you can't reply via gmail because it will reply with the gmail address, not the hotmail address. Its not the most elegant solution but if you NEED to have push e-mail I guess thats what you can do.

If you don't like or want to use hotmail application, you can set your hotmail account to forward mails automatically to gmail. So hotmail instantly pushes mails to gmail and you can see them on gmail on time. I have configured hotmail like this and never have problem by reading mails from gmail. Moreover, if you want, you can add second mail address to gmail acoount (it might be a hotmail address) and select it automatically or manually when you send mails from gmails. So receivers see your hotmail address on "from" line and they can reply to your hotmail.i hope i could tell what i want to say

Hmmm I might try this, because this new hotmail app does have push, but so far for me its a huge battery hog.

I've had great results with k9mail on gmail and an old work account. Both worked on push setup. Have a look at it and see if there are setting for hotmail push. Its free BTW.

Hello everybody how are you all?
Firstly I'd like to apologize because it looks like a very simple problem. But, I've googled a bit and couldn't seem to get any closer to the solution.
I want to use the email app on my Nexus 7 to access my university email. This email accounts are provided by Microsoft.
After I enter my account name, on the second screen, it asks me about Account Type. POP3, IMAP or Exchange.
I tried
with POP3 > enter password > Incoming server settings(used defaults) > When trying to sign in "Couldn't finish : Couldn't open connection to server."
with IMAP, it ask for "sign in with password" or "sign in with google". In both cases, I get the error "Couldn't finish : Couldn't open connection to server"
with Exchange and I get the same error. But in this case the email client ask for a "client certificate", I haven't selected anything for that option.
What are the options(POP3, IMAP, Exchange) and how to setup this email client for my university account?
Thank you,
I had to contact my university to get server link, security type and port number for IMAP and SMTP information.
