On the latest fresh and latest cm6 nightly, whenever i try to use voice command (from the google search bar; "send text to so-and-so.......poop and pee") i always get a force close on com.google.android.voicesearch. i use google voice as my texting client. i've uninstalled google search and voice search, booted into recovery to clear dalvik cache, rebooted back into android, and reinstalled both yet it still force closes. again, i've tried this on fresh and cm6.
does anyone else have this problem when using google's voice commands to send text messages via google voice?

It worked for me
so that link didn't work for me.
/system/app/GoogleQuickSearchBox.apk and
/system/app/VoiceSearch.apk don't exist even though the google search widget and google voice search are installed.
i uninstalled google search and google voice search, deleted com.google.android.voicesearch, rebooted, reinstalled google search followed by google voice search, and still no-go. i still get the force closes. perhaps that method only works on steelh's rom?

Hello,
I have been having this issue for over a week now, I can't download any apps. I am on ICS 4.0.4 which I received through official Google update. The problem did start after the update. Attached is a screenshot of the error I receive when attempting to download Angry Birds Space. It says
"Angry Birds Space" could not be downloaded due to an error. (921)
I have Googled the error and people have suggested that clearing 'Google Services Framework' and 'Google Play' data + cache then restarting has resolved the issue for them. I have tried this many times to no avail. Others are saying that the error is at Google's side and should rectify itself, but a week with the error is excessive.
I am newish to Android and am not looking to flash a custom ROM at the moment. But if that's what needs to be done then I will give it a shot. I'm just not sure if that would even fix the issue.
Please help!
This problem happened to me too right after updating to 4.0.4. (stock).
I am sure it's on Google's side because I resolved mine through contacting Google support with detailed description of my problem. They said they recently had some problems causing this to happen and they resolved it remotely. Now I am able to update/download with no problems at all.

Alright, do you happen to have the URL to Google Support?
If deleting data and cache of the Market/Play Store App doesn't help, try deleting and re-adding your Gmail Account.

That did it! I can now download apps again! Thank you very much.
I'm not really sure if this works for everybody but adding a second gmail account solved the issue for me.
Try reinstalling the Google play store apk. I'll shoot you the latest if you need it
Sent from my i9250 [GSM) Galaxy Nexus
Not only 4.04
I'm on stock 4.02 and I have the same problem - error 921 during updating, so I can't update anything That's Google Play problem, I suppose.

+1 but also before deleting and re-adding your gmail account also clear data and cache from googleservicesframework.apk
I've had this problem 2-3 times before, you just clear data and cache for Google Play and for Google Services Framework, reboot and you should be good to go. I've never needed to remove and re-add my google account

sometime it wasn't enough and re-adding your gmail account solved it ... i think i has to do with the automatic downloading of apps when your first flash a new rom (after a complete wipe)
Worked, thanks very much!
Post OTA update to JB from ICS I encounter the following:
When I use the voice->text when composing an SMS or doing a search in chrome I get the following message:
Unfortunately, Google Search has stopped.
Then the input is stuck as voice.
When I open the blue Google app I get the same error, but at least this time I can switch back to keyboard input.
I've tried the following:
Reboot phone-same issue
Kill the Google Search task, reboot-same issue
Using APP search for Google Search, clear cache, clear defaults, reboot-same issue
Any other suggestions? Maybe it's just me with this issue?
Running Hboot 1.39, stock rom,
Just got a google search update OTA. It provided more functionality than before; when I tap the mic and talk it says it can't hear me and to try again. This is better than before, but still not working. It's the same after rebooting the phone.
Solved,
CWM nandroid restore to stock ROM fixed whatever it was.
Somewhere along the way I have lost launching Google Search when swiping up from the home button. Not sure when it happened. I am running root, stock ROM. I am using Nova launcher, but I switched back to HTC Blinkfeed and that did not help. I had Xposed installed, but uninstalled and still no joy. When I swipe up from the home button, the arc with the magnifying glass appears, but nothing gets launched. Any ideas?
Did you by chance remove or disabled Google Search? Did you try clear cache, Force Stopping, clear data for Google Search?

Google Search installed and enabled. Followed your suggestions and tried Force Stopping, cleared cache, cleared data, no joy. Then uninstalled and let it update again. Still no joy.
Don't shoot me, I've done some searching but found no answer...
Ok / Hey Google is not activating the Google assistant on my stock android 10, Nov 19 updated phone.
Squeeze works and manually starting the assistant works but not via speech. It always used to.
When I try switch it on in settings, it switches off saying '
Something went wrong. Try again.'
Anyone else had this? And if so how did you fix it?
Cheers

I meant wipe Google app's data. Settings>apps & notifications>see all apps>click show system from overflow menu. Then clear all data from Google and OK google enrollment and reboot then set up Google app settings again

Hmm. A few more ideas if you're interested in trying
1. type "trust agent" into search settings and make sure it's toggled on under security settings. Maybe try toggling it off, reboot, then turn it back on.
2. uninstall google app updates and see if it starts working (settings>apps>google>overflow menu)
If none of those work I would think about flashing the factory image from https://developers.google.com/android/images

Thanks for the help. 1 & 2 did not work.
Contemplating whether to do 3 or see if December update fixes my issue!
So I reinstalled Android 10 from factory image with ADB. Not the OTA. Did not reinstate any back up and still hey Google does not work... "There was a problem".
Pants!
try these steps that will completely bring back Assistant to as close to stock as possible without totally resetting the device...
go into Settings/Apps & Notifications/See all apps
*you may need to display “all apps”
Google Play Services
Clear data from within “storage & cache”
Assistant
Clear data from within “storage & cache”
Uninstall
open Google Play Store
Go to menu/sandwich bars in the top left location
Go to “My apps & games”
Re-search, download, & install Google Assistant
launch Google app
Go under the “More” tab section
Go & Select the “Voice” section
Select “Voice Match” section
Select “delete voice model”
Choose “retrain voice model” (if possible – I don’t wish to delete mine)
Follow prompts and re-set up voice match model…
Make sure “Access with Voice Match”
I had/have to frequently reset Google Assistant and “hotword” set up, so this is the steps I take to reset Assistant so it will respond to me saying the “hotword”….it works 95% of the time where the other 5% is rebooting my device and then running through all of these steps……
Hope this ends up being helpful and good luck!

I would try deleting and retraining your voice model.
I had noticed a while back that Ok Google wasnt activating assistant on my phone. I deleted the voice model and retrained it and Ok Google as been working fine now to activate assistant. So letting the OP know that this worked for me.
FFS. Have tried all methods suggested here and I can't get ok Google or get Google to work. It works in my old Yotaphone but not my Google Pixel! Go figure!
I guess I will learn to live without it.
Thanks for all your help.
March update has fixed my issue! Hey Google working well again no.
Mods please close this thread.
