I've noticed many indivduals (on other forums) seem to experience the same problem with their HTC EVO, but after an extensive search across a variety of Android Forums, I have yet to locate a fix. Hopefully, someone here can point me in the correct direction.
While on a call, an incoming call (call waiting) only displays the caller ID number - instead of the name and contact picture stored in my phone. This did not happen until after the 2.2 update.
To test this, you can dial Sprint Customer Service (or any other wait on hold forever 800 number) from your mobile device, and either dial from a land line, or have someone (stored in your contacts list) call into your mobile device.
Not everyone seems to have this bug / feature, but for those that do experience this 'feature' we'd sure like to fix this.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated by me (and a host of others).

P.S. NOT Rooted HTC EVO, caller ID fails on Call waiting with all contacts (whether or not the contact has a google contact or not)

i am looking to find a way to aphend the phone prefix from dialing 1 whenever i place a call.
I could do it on my tp but the tp2 doesnt have that option
getting down to almost 0 tweaks i want
Please put the issue you need help with in your thread title.
It's just good practice.
if you're doing it from your contact list & the number doesn't have the 1 in it, it shouldn't dial it. If you're doing it from your call history from a received call or even from a received text, since those come in as 1 (XXX) XXX-XXXX all the time, then it will have the 1 in front of it.
I'm curious, why does it matter?
well on the touch pro if you didnt eneter a 1 into contacts and someone called you it wouldnt show your contact as calling. but it looks like the tp2 works for caller id.
to many ****ty software glitches in the TP glad its gone.
htc's worst cellphone for sprint
I'm hoping someone here might be able to help...
eViL has a wonderful Desire port for the Nexus One, but I have a serious (to me) problem with how HtcContacts displays the recent call history. With the 'normal' aosp contacts.apk the call history correctly reflects what I dial, whereas with the HtcContacts, it shows the google server number that the phone actually calls when using google voice. It does the same thing with Paul's Desire port.
Does the call history work the same for you native Desire owners? I would assume it does...and in a search I didn't come up with anything here. (could've used the wrong criteria I suppose)
Just hoping to find some suggestions from those who've dealt with this much longer than me.
Thanks
My dad's SGS2 for Sprint recently went 4.0.4 OTA and though I was excited for him, he's not happy about the default call log only showing recent call activity by date and not by caller as he claims it used to be. For instance, he runs a business and for him it's important to be able to click on a contact and have all call log data available in one spot for that contact as opposed to scrolling through the entire history of all callers to find when he may have missed a call from someone. Does anyone know of an app or ROM that could help? This apparently can be done for people who are registered contacts, but he wants it done for when someone's not a contact.
Still Possible / Horribly Inconvenient
This is the nicest free replacement dialer IMO, a MiUI style dialer with the same functionality your father is looking for.

I recently purchased a Z1 Compact and have discovered that when using Google Voice to dial all calls, the wrong number is stored in the call log. This makes it hard to track who I'm calling. From what I've read, this is the number that Voice calls before connecting you to your contact. The way it's worked previously on other phones is that the contact number is stored in the call log and the go-between number is called in the background. This is the proper way and what I'd like to get back to. Does anyone know how to fix this? I'm on 4.4.4. If anyone has Lollipop, has this issue been fixed? The one workaround I've seen is that you should store these numbers in the contact information (as each number is specific to a contact) so that you'll see your contact in the call log, but I'd rather just fix the issue. Ultimately, I believe the issue stems from Sony modifying the stock dialer such that the Voice app doesn't hook in properly to show the contact phone number in the call log. I've seen that some Samsung phone users have the same issue. Please let me know if you have any advice.
Whatever the issue was, it has been fixed in Lollipop.
Hi,
I have been using Moto Z Play since 7-8 months and what I am not able to find out is incoming call information.
Let me be more descriptive,
Suppose My reporting manager is out of office and he forwarded all calls to my number. I get calls and answer it but what I can't figure is whether the client called on my manager's number or directly on my number.
I have checked with other phones (Redmi 3S Prime and one phone from Vivo) and they display the caller information and small notification as Forwarded Call.
What I am unable to figure is whether this is some feature integrated in those customized Android Versions or my carrier is not able to provide such information to my handset.
When I talked to my Network operator, they told this is Handset feature.
