Is it possible to be able to use custmized ring tones at the same time that they wont appear on the stock music player.. post a solution that you guys have tried..
Place a file called .nomedia inside the folder you dont want to be seen by the media player.
You can put a .nomedia "blank file" in the \ringtone folder, so it won´t get caught by the mediascan.
Checkout this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=762058
I've tried that solution it also prevents my ringtones getting seen by my application that handles the ring tone selection ( zedge ) could you guys recommend something else to set my ringtones that work with .nomedia ?
This is a problem is with Samsung Music app. Other androids i own did not have this problem by right any ringtones in a folder called ringtones would not be pick up by the music app. The same goes for folder named alarms and notification. The music app would ignore it and android would detect the files and put it in the ringtone menu when picking a ringtone.
With samsung music app this is broken.
So whats the best music replacement app that sound equal or better than the stock music player ?

I had the same behaviour like SGS on my previous HTC Desire.
If you have root permissions, you can put your ringtones and notifications etc in the following location:
system\media\audio\ringtones
system\media\audio\notifications
system\media\audio\alarms
Then reboot and job done, your Samsung media player will nolonger register the files...

Do I need a 3rd party application for me to asign these ringtones or do they already appear on the list of ringtones out right ?
Simple answer = You need Root access and an app such as root explorer, it will let you copy your music files to the system folder as stated...
I did as above and copied in my .mp3 files that I wanted, then simply rebooted and they work perfectly and nolonger show in Music players lists... but when I go to notifications they appear and can be selected like any other sound in the list
Thanks, my phone is already rooted. Ill just grab root explorer and try this.

Hi...
I have 3 other players witch shows the album art perfectly as it should but as soon as i want to use my tf3d it only show the same album art for all the songs
Has anyone else had this problem and how do i solve it? I have the art inbeded in the mp3 files so should not be a problem. For example my Coreplayer 1.3 shows it correctly.
Can anyone help me with this?
Thanks in advance
I had the same problem. I just put songs with the same album arts in same folders. Basically Touch Flo 3d gets confused when all of the songs with different album arts are in a same folder. Hope it helps.
Basically you need one folder for each Album/song.
I have Artist-Album and songs inside the album.
best way is Artist/Album/songs then put your albulm thumbnail as hTC_AM_AlbumArt.jpg itll do it but it seems to get confused easily and put wrong album covers especially if you have 2 albums same name like "unknown Album". you can also make a copy of the album cover named folder.jpg for media player. its tedious work but it let you control it.
the best way is to put the album cover in the mp3
you can use mp3tag http://www.mp3tag.de/en/
Also to note with the Artist/album directories, be careful with album names.
say u have /Michael Jackson/Greatest Hits/ and an album Suicidal tendancies/Greatest Hits/ it often confuses them and you'll end up with your Michael Jackson greatest hits album cover on your suicidal tendancies songs even with album art embedded and in the directory. so you have to name every album name unique.
I had a same problem and solution is: all album art named "folder" a everything work fine

Actually best way is to sync ur music with windows media player. Lets say u put an album in library of windows media player. Find and album art and paste it and then u sync and voila!! now u have album art in tf3d player (atleast i do )
Someone mentioned in other thread, about the app MediaMonkey, it's free. With it u can integrate the album art in the song. I use it and so far there're no problems with the album art. It has a lot of options, really great app. http://www.mediamonkey.com/download/
i agree with the man
you should sync from wmp it will add to your htc with the album art
after syncing with WMP11 it shows no music found on htc music manager
while wmp on device displays correctly
Tip on resolve the TouchFlo Album Art
Create Folder for each of the Artist, "album art" image change to folder.jpg and place in the Artist Folder along with "folder.jpg".
Example:
Folder Named as "Jocie"
folder.jpg = Image of Jocie
All Jocie's songs placed in this folder
The following step is important . . .
Goto > Device\Application Data\HTC\AudioManager_Eng
Rename > AudioManager_Eng to AudioManager_Eng000
Do a "Soft Reset"
Done.
Following are Optional after you had soft reset . .
You can go back to > Device\Application Data\HTC\AudioManager_Eng
Delete > AudioManager_Eng000

With the World Cup in full swing, I'm urgently looking for an app for WM simiar to:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=6815141#post6815141
the thread you linked to has just an mp3, not an app. to set it as a ringtone, copy it into the windows folder on your device memory (not sd card). you may have to reboot after this but then, it should be an option for setting as ringtone or alert
EDIT now that i think about it, you may have to convert to .wav or can use the mp3 trimmer app found on most ROMs
oh sorry- didn't see that it was just a mp3
I am actually looking for

Haha, class! Can't wait to annoy everyone at work with this. Thanks
lol
It doesn't work on my Blackstone
After blowing the mic I get the message my phone is not supported. When I quit the app, the volume has gone to silent. Am I doing something wrong?
Are you blowing straight into the mic? (note you must blow BEFORE tapping Ok)
Eventually I passed the mic-check, but I don't hear anything while blowing in the mic.
Tried it too when tapping my finger on the screen while blowing, but it won't work
Still the volume is switched to silent after I close the app. Tried 1 to 5, no difference.
so neither sounds when tapping? I guess there is something wrong with your volume. In my case it reverts to my previous volume when I quit...
I just briefly tried it and it worked the first time on my Blackstone.
I really don't understand.
No sound when tapping either. Installed it on internal storage and storage card, no difference.
I've played music in the background while running the app and I can still hear it when tapping the screen. Still no vuvuzela-sound though. When I quit the program, the phone switches to silent-mode.
Really strange.

So indeed there was a problem on some ROMs maybe...
Does anyone know how to possibly take off that really ugly album art on the default music player; the random images that are assigned if you don't have album art. Love the stock music player but the album art really annoys the heck out of me.
I would like to know as well!
Not really relevant to your question but i can totally recommend getting Power Amp from the market the best music player for Android, i don't think ive ever actually used the stock music player.

Indeed. If you have the images you'd prefer, shoot them to me. I'll set you up. I found them in the 'SystemUI.apk' file and gree that they are horrid at best.

I know this is asking a lot, but it would be really cool if you could create a thread detailing how to make these changes. A lot of users, myself included would be really interested in learning how to do this.
Ill step up here. Its really quite easy and once you can do this you can go on to do other theme changes easily.
I agree the album art is horrendous.
The images are in (for me) : musicplayer.apk
from : music_player_thumb_01 to music_player_thumb_08
size : 480 x 480
What you want to do is get hold of your MusicPlayer.apk From system/app
Ive found the easiest way to get it onto my pc is just locate it with a filemanager,
hold my finger on it then click send to. I then either send it to my pc via bluetooth or send it to my dropbox. You can also copy and paste it to your SD/phone storage and the use the wire to put it on your pc but wireless is easy/lazier just how i like it.
Once you have the apk on your pc open it up with 7zip and go to :
res/drawable-hdpi
(the location of most of the images).
Now just inject your files into this folder overwriting the other ones.
If you want just extract the drawable-hdpi folder so you can take a look at the images and see what you want to edit.
Next you either put it in a flashable zip or use root explorer or some filemanager to copy it over manually.
I can provide a flashable zip if you need.
Im gonna knock some galaxy images together in that size and replace the old ones, ill share them here when im done.
Hope this helps.
Heres how it looks and the files but there are still some frugly thumbnails to take care of :

Hello everyone, I tried the search button in these forums and the Google but I can't find an answer.
My friend sent me a movie file (.mov) from his iPhone. First I can't even download the file. In the Gmail application, the file appear as an attachment with no buttons. No save, play or preview button? Is this normal?
I know there is an application called "download all" to download the attachment. Is this the right move to do?
Also, after the download (if it succeeded) what is the best player to play this? Is it 'Mobo player" or "VLC player" or anything else?
Off note: My friend (another one) has a Nexus S with ICS and in the mail attachment he has "Save" button. Is this an ICS thing?
Thanks in advance...
Check your Gmail to see a paperclip icon. If you have it, then you will get the option to download the file. If you don't see the paperclip icon then no attachment was sent.
The .mov file can be played with moboplayer or mx video player. You will have to browse for the .mov file with "ES file explorer" or browse for it directly from within the video player app (mobo or mx).
I have the clip icon, but no option to download, save, preview out play...

It looks like you have the "conversation view" on in your gmail account. Click on the heading (next to the sender) that have the file you want and it should expand it.
To make it easier you can turn off the "conversation view" in your gmail account using your pc or the web browser of your Galaxy S2. Just Open Gmail, top right corner is a "cog wheel", hit it and go to mail settings, scroll down to "conversation view" and disable it, then save. Then just go back to your smartphone and try again.
I pressed "Show details" and it only shows the full email addresses of all the parties.
Not show details, click on name.
Or to make it easier you can use the "email" (not gmail) app. Just enter your email and password and you are good to go.
EDIT: Er nevermind the "email" app. There seems to be a file size limit, so may not work with big video file.
I installed mobo player pro and the problem is fixed if I use the internet version (gmail.com). It downloads the file and then plays it. Still, the file attached doesn't show a save or preview in the gmail application...

Hi all:
I'm thinking of buying this Joying Android player for my car:
https://www.carjoying.com/2-din-car...-system-support-camera-dvr-for-universal.html
But I have a question about the music app, used to play music from the USB or SD card.. I hope someone can help me...
Normally in my USB/SD card, I organize my mp3's in folders, by album names. So for this android music player that comes with most android players, will the app display my songs in folders/files, or will it just search through all the files, and display them in a single-hierarchy, chronological list?
This is important to me, as I want to be able to quickly change my songs by moving to another folder when I need it...
Thanks in advance!
I don't own exactly this one, but I guess all Chinese are similar. So on the question: on mine when you slide right the music app screen on the left side is something like files explorer and you can choose what folder you want to play or press the very top option to play everything. So if your card folder structure is simple you will be able to play what folder you want in a matter of couple of clicks. But if you have complicated folders structure like folder in a folder in a folder, then will be a bit hassle. I hope that helps
Ps: you can always download any music app from gogle play that suits you
Sent from my D6503 using Tapatalk
I think you should consider PowerAmp, if you set correctly in setting menu, you can slide left-right for prev/next track, slide up-down for prev/next folder, also you can sort (for each folder) by album, artist or even file-name. I'm really happy with these features.
I guess I can roughly picture it in my mind... but any pictures would be extremely helpful!
I stumbled upon BlackPlayer Music Player and its awesome! Does what you're asking and more. I plugged in an old usb stick with various folders of artists into my Joying headunit and when I opened the app for the first time it was so easy to tune it. Sorts by artist, albums, songs, playlists, etc. Check it out in the app store. One pic from google:

sounds good! I'll try out the blackplayer and poweramp when my unit arrives. thanks!
I cam here to ask the same thing, I like to organise my music by Artist first then Album. The native player only wants to list the albums! I can't find a "Go up one Level" button anywhere.
On this note is it possible to remap the physical button on the head unit?
