Hi all:
I'm thinking of buying this Joying Android player for my car:
https://www.carjoying.com/2-din-car...-system-support-camera-dvr-for-universal.html
But I have a question about the music app, used to play music from the USB or SD card.. I hope someone can help me...
Normally in my USB/SD card, I organize my mp3's in folders, by album names. So for this android music player that comes with most android players, will the app display my songs in folders/files, or will it just search through all the files, and display them in a single-hierarchy, chronological list?
This is important to me, as I want to be able to quickly change my songs by moving to another folder when I need it...
Thanks in advance!
I don't own exactly this one, but I guess all Chinese are similar. So on the question: on mine when you slide right the music app screen on the left side is something like files explorer and you can choose what folder you want to play or press the very top option to play everything. So if your card folder structure is simple you will be able to play what folder you want in a matter of couple of clicks. But if you have complicated folders structure like folder in a folder in a folder, then will be a bit hassle. I hope that helps
Ps: you can always download any music app from gogle play that suits you

I think you should consider PowerAmp, if you set correctly in setting menu, you can slide left-right for prev/next track, slide up-down for prev/next folder, also you can sort (for each folder) by album, artist or even file-name. I'm really happy with these features.
I guess I can roughly picture it in my mind... but any pictures would be extremely helpful!
I stumbled upon BlackPlayer Music Player and its awesome! Does what you're asking and more. I plugged in an old usb stick with various folders of artists into my Joying headunit and when I opened the app for the first time it was so easy to tune it. Sorts by artist, albums, songs, playlists, etc. Check it out in the app store. One pic from google:

sounds good! I'll try out the blackplayer and poweramp when my unit arrives. thanks!
I cam here to ask the same thing, I like to organise my music by Artist first then Album. The native player only wants to list the albums! I can't find a "Go up one Level" button anywhere.
On this note is it possible to remap the physical button on the head unit?

With the World Cup in full swing, I'm urgently looking for an app for WM simiar to:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=6815141#post6815141
the thread you linked to has just an mp3, not an app. to set it as a ringtone, copy it into the windows folder on your device memory (not sd card). you may have to reboot after this but then, it should be an option for setting as ringtone or alert
EDIT now that i think about it, you may have to convert to .wav or can use the mp3 trimmer app found on most ROMs
oh sorry- didn't see that it was just a mp3

Haha, class! Can't wait to annoy everyone at work with this. Thanks
lol
It doesn't work on my Blackstone
After blowing the mic I get the message my phone is not supported. When I quit the app, the volume has gone to silent. Am I doing something wrong?
Are you blowing straight into the mic? (note you must blow BEFORE tapping Ok)
Eventually I passed the mic-check, but I don't hear anything while blowing in the mic.
Tried it too when tapping my finger on the screen while blowing, but it won't work
Still the volume is switched to silent after I close the app. Tried 1 to 5, no difference.
so neither sounds when tapping? I guess there is something wrong with your volume. In my case it reverts to my previous volume when I quit...
I just briefly tried it and it worked the first time on my Blackstone.
I really don't understand.
No sound when tapping either. Installed it on internal storage and storage card, no difference.
I've played music in the background while running the app and I can still hear it when tapping the screen. Still no vuvuzela-sound though. When I quit the program, the phone switches to silent-mode.
Really strange.

So indeed there was a problem on some ROMs maybe...
Is it possible to be able to use custmized ring tones at the same time that they wont appear on the stock music player.. post a solution that you guys have tried..
Place a file called .nomedia inside the folder you dont want to be seen by the media player.
You can put a .nomedia "blank file" in the \ringtone folder, so it won´t get caught by the mediascan.
Checkout this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=762058
I've tried that solution it also prevents my ringtones getting seen by my application that handles the ring tone selection ( zedge ) could you guys recommend something else to set my ringtones that work with .nomedia ?
This is a problem is with Samsung Music app. Other androids i own did not have this problem by right any ringtones in a folder called ringtones would not be pick up by the music app. The same goes for folder named alarms and notification. The music app would ignore it and android would detect the files and put it in the ringtone menu when picking a ringtone.
With samsung music app this is broken.
So whats the best music replacement app that sound equal or better than the stock music player ?

I had the same behaviour like SGS on my previous HTC Desire.
If you have root permissions, you can put your ringtones and notifications etc in the following location:
system\media\audio\ringtones
system\media\audio\notifications
system\media\audio\alarms
Then reboot and job done, your Samsung media player will nolonger register the files...

Do I need a 3rd party application for me to asign these ringtones or do they already appear on the list of ringtones out right ?
Simple answer = You need Root access and an app such as root explorer, it will let you copy your music files to the system folder as stated...
I did as above and copied in my .mp3 files that I wanted, then simply rebooted and they work perfectly and nolonger show in Music players lists... but when I go to notifications they appear and can be selected like any other sound in the list
Thanks, my phone is already rooted. Ill just grab root explorer and try this.

It's also exactly the same behaviour on the HTC Hero.
Hello,
as the title says, I have a problem with just 1 song (.flac) not showing a correct song title.
The title is まもりたい ~White Wishes~
and the Music App changes is to something like this:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
The title shows correctly on my PC, in MediaMonkey, mp3tag, etc...
I didn't have this problem on 28 Jun 2012, 15:04, when I listened to it for the last time. I didn't change anything or installed an app since then, so I don't know why it suddenly changed. Other Japanese (and Korean) songs are just fine and showing without any error.
The problem occurred this morning and I tried several things:
- Using Auto-Sync of MediaMonkey
- Copying it manually to the phone
- Edited the tag with mp3tag; I even changed it to a different name like めもりたい -> same problem
- Copied to another folder
- Rebooted the phone
- Cleared the cache of the music app and stopped it
I don't want to use any other App for my music, because I really love the Sense Music-Player.
What should I do?
I just found out, that if I change the name of the artist from "BoA" to "보아 (BoA)" (I just remembered I had it like this until recently...) everything is fine. But why does the change of the artist tag mess around with the song title?
I want to use "BoA" instead of "보아 (BoA)" ... ><
I'm still having this problem, even after the latest OTA.
Meanwhile I checked the file with an audio tester tool. I also re-ripped it from my retail disc, tagged it properly, but it still shows up like in the screenshots above.
Meanwhile some other songs are affected, too. But this time, they are new songs and have never been on my phone before.
I also tried some other apps like poweramp or winamp, but they are showing the same result.
I sent these songs to a friend who is using a Sony Ericsson Mini Pro and he has no problems at all.
The only thing that helps is converting the files to mp3. Then, everything is fine. Though, I want to keep these files in flac.
Does anyone have an idea how I could solve this problem? (No, I don't want to convert them to mp3 )
I've been fiddling with my G3 for a little over a day now and I can't seem to figure this one out. Several of my albums are being split in two in my G3 media player. Below is a screen shot showing Pearl Jam Ten and Vs showing up as two albums. Both should have 12 songs in them, but are split out. It seems random, too. On Ten it is the 5'th, 6'th and last song that are split out into the second album that only has 3 songs. They are all in the same folder on my SD card, and they all displayed properly when the same SD card was in my previous phone. On Vs it is the 5'th song that somehow displays as it's own Vs album.
Any ideas?

I don't own a G3, but I've had this problem on several other phones before. you have to use windows to edit the songs in question info in properties. Depending on where you got the music from, a lot of the properties info is not there or messed up so the phone splits it up to where the info for songs match up hence why you have 2 different albums for the same one. Gets worse if the album has a lot of ppl credited on the songs then the music player will spit each song into its own album. Take all the music that's split off your device. Use Windows to edit the properties/track info so it ALL matches, and then throw them back on your device. You should be good after that.

Thanks, that certainly seems to do the trick. I'm coming from 3 generations of HTC's, so I guess their players are a bit less sensitive to the details.
Hello,
I received my Sony Smartwatch 3 a couple of days ago, and I still cannot achieve my goal of being able to shuffle all songs that are synched to my smart watch
At the moment I am only able to play tracks by album, so turning shuffle on will only shuffle tracks within that album - to play tracks from another album I need to manually find the track and play it.
I've searched the forum for similar issues, and have only come across one similar thread which is:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/smartwatch-3/help/to-shuffle-downloaded-musics-t2932170
This thread appears to suggest the solution is to create a playlist within Google Play on my Samsung Galaxy S6 and add all songs to it. This seems like a logical solution to me, but I cannot work out how to synchronise playlists to my smart watch.
When going through the usual path of Settings > Manage Wear downloads, the available list of items for me to sync to my watch are all albums, none of my Google Play playlists appear in the list. Similarly, when opening Google Play on the smart watch itself, the presented list of music items available to synchronise is the same, i.e. it is presented by album only.
From searching "how to synchronise playlists to Sony Smartwatch 3 using Google Play" and similar, I came across this guidance @ https://support.google.com/androidwear/answer/6102658?hl=en-GB, which states I should:
To listen to your music on your watch without your phone, follow these steps:
On your watch, open the Google Play Music app Google Play Music Icon.
Select Play on Wear.
To allow your phone and watch to sync, swipe up and touch Turn on sync.
From the Music sync management screen, touch to select playlists to sync to your watch.
This "Turn on Sync" option simply does not exist for me.
Alternatively, I've tried opening the playlist in Google Play on my phone, and clicked the download button (as shown in the screenshot below), although I'm not even sure what this button is supposed to be doing (what is it downloading to/from???) - either way it just stays on partially downloaded (the orange segment on the completion circle remains at its minimum size and never appears to progress before completion). This is the case even if I try to do it with a playlist with only one song in it (as demonstrated below).

Other than that I'm completely out of ideas. Not sure if the following information is useful, but:
Phone: Samsung Galaxy S6
OS version: 6.0.1
Google Play Music version: 6.7.2712Z.2783167
If I'm unable to perform such a basic function as shuffling all my songs then I'm going to have to send the watch back!
I would appreciate any suggestions.
Also, mods please correct typo in thread title - then delete this line after.
Many thanks
