Has anyone else experienced this problem? On cm6 and Fresh, I've noticed that the youtube widget doesn't work unless I remove it and re-add the widget every time before I want to use it.
Same here. I thought I was the only one with this problem. Atr first I was getting a connection problem message on the widget. So I uninstalled it and reinstalled it and it worked. Then it stated giving me the problem where I click on the search or upload button, but nothing happens. When i remove the widget, then reinstall the widget it'll work again for a bit.
I'm running the newest Fresh Rom.

Haha. Yeah, it's a good thing I don't use it that much, but when I do...it sucks to have to remove it and re-add the widget. =(

Facebook for Sense is keeping my auto sync [icon] on, even though I have it disabled. When I remove the Facebook account, auto sync [icon] goes away. No matter how many times I toggle auto sync, background data, data connection, pull battery/reboot, NOTHING is working.
A little background:
Fresh 3.3.0.1, ran the omegasun script to remove all Sense stuff, then I put the HTCFacebook .apk back on my phone with adb.
My questions are:
a.) anyone else have this problem?
b.) anyone know of a solution?
c.) is there perhaps some other .apk that I need to put back into /system/app in order to make this work?
I have just spent the last 3 hours trying to figure this out, and I am tired of wiping and reflashing over and over only to have the issue still arise. Any insight would be GREATLY appreciated.
If I remember correctly, Friendstream and Talk were the two known for causing that situation.
Well I don't have Friendstream installed and I know it's not Talk because as soon as I delete HtcFacebook.apk the problem disappears.
Have you tried deleting the sense facebook and then downloading fb for android from the market?
That is what I have done. I removed the sense fb and installed the market fb app and dont have issues with sync. They are and appear as two different apps. Try that.
Are you saying permanently delete HtcFacebook? Or reinstall it after I install the market app? I don't want to delete HtcFacebook because of it's integration with the people app, the pictures and such.

I personally deleted it completely but that might not be an option for you. What integration are you talking about though because I have no problems uploading pics through the market fb app.
In the Facebook for Sense sync options, turn off Sync live feed. I think that tries to sync to friendstream. I am running this way and the contacts and pictures still work correctly.

My contact list is synced with facebook, giving me everyones profile picture for their contact card. Also, birthdays, events. I don't think you can do that with just the market app.

I don't have that option. I only have the option to sync contacts which I have turned off. I manually sync them when I get the urge to.

Yeah you can't do that with the market app. Sorry I couldn't be of any more help.
That's cool man, I appreciate the fact that you took the time to post regardless if it helped or not.
This is driving me nuts. I can't tell if it's actually syncing or if it's just a bug where the icon won't go away. My battery life seems fine so I dunno.
edit: It's definitely trying to do something because my wake time is 100%.

I just noticed in your sig you are using launcher pro.
You can create a shortcut to the battery usage info (the partial wake usage found on spare parts).
Long press the homescreen, shortcut, activities, settings, battery history.
You literally dont need spare parts for this and others. Maybe under partial wake it might lead you somewhere.
Yeah I already checked partial wake, Android System is maxed, dialer is barely there and thats pretty much it.
I'm gonna run the stock PC36IMG and then try to work my way back to where I'm at. Hopefully that will help.
I had a lot of issues with that Facebook app at first also. Now I realized that the Facebook for HTC Sense Live feed works with Friendstream like others have said. It also put the info in contacts showing their last status. Its is rather annoying and took me a minute before I figured it out as well.
Hope you the info in here as helped you
FIXED!!!
Ok, It seems I have fixed the problem. The autosync icon is gone and phone is sleeping again. Flashing the PC36IMG is the crucial step. Before flashing it I had wiped and reflashed my ROM multiple times with no success. These are the steps that I took, in case anyone else is having the same issue.
1. wipe
2. flash the rooted stock PC36IMG.zip
3. boot it
4. wipe again
5. flash Fresh 3.3.0.1
6. boot it
7. run omegasun's sense removal script
8. boot it
9. push HtcFacebook.apk to /system/app
10. reboot it
11. restore with Titanium
12. reboot it
13. $$$$
14. PROFIT!!!

Good stuff. It sounds like the problem was that you were initializing facebook before deleting stuff and breaking the communications between apps that exist and dont.

No, that wasn't the problem because I tried it both ways- flashed, booted, deleted apps and flashed, deleted apps and then booted.
I'm sure it was just some stupid bug that got cleared up when I went back to stock.
Hi I need help with a strange problem. I'm experiencing it so far with the sense weather and twitter, they are both not updating. On the htc sense weather widget, it updates the weather for the other added cities but fails to update for the current location. I have tried restarting and wi-fi to no avail. The twitter app is the official one and the widget fails to update, however the app itself does. I have tried removing and re-adding the sense clock app. Any help or ideas please? it is really annoying. Thanks.

Try a full wipe what recover u using. Use amon and do a full wipe and you should be good to go.
I would hate to do a full wipe just for that. Noticed this behavior after installing kasperky mobile security. I have uninstalled the app and restarted the device, that didn't help. Anyone else had a same problem and found a solution other than a full wipe? What would be a good backup software for a non-rooted device, in case push comes to shove and that's the only option I'm left with? Thanks.

Try clearing your cache man really no need for anti virus. The phone works like linux so unless you run something bad for root which no app should need then your all good. Why you afraid to do a full wipe just do a nan backup and you can do a full wipe to see if it fixes it if it doesn't just restore your backup,
Don't guess you've used that program Autostarts to stop unneeded apps from running at different times. I've ran into all sorts of different minor issues by stoppin programs from starting that didn't even seem relevant. Just a thought
Naah I didn't ever use Autostarts. I did use Kaspersky, and I'm highly suspicious that is the culprit. Anyway, thanks for the help, I didn't do a full wipe, I cleared the data on HTC Sense, and re-installed the twitter app. That has solved the problem for now.

I don't know if anybody else is having this issue, but I am using the "Buddies Now" widget that came stock with this phone, I don't know what is causing this but randomly all of the widgets in question I have added to a page lose the person that it was assigned to and revert to being a blank widget with no contact. I am assuming something is resetting them. It was happening before I installed Advanced Task Killer and is continuing after so I don't think that something is getting closed because of ATK which is causing the issue....Any suggestions/help/advice? Thanks
Yep. I ran into that yesterday for the first time.

Curious...I wonder if an auto-sync of GMail contacts will reset the widget. If your contacts are constantly syncing, it could disrupt / reset the feed to the Buddies widget, essentially making you reassign each time your contacts update automatically.
Test that and see, just remove contact sync as auto and see what happens. Worth a stab
I hadn't noticed this.... then I read this thread and within 30 minutes it happened... just my luck
Probably just going to use a different launcher.

I'm going to try that now...lets see if that helps...I also have launcher pro already set up the way I like it but haven't set it as default yet...hopefully the issue can be resolved so I won't have to change but no big deal if I have to
Even after Unchecking sync for contacts and assigning each widget a contact around 815PM tonight most of the widgets have lost their assigned contact and now are blank.
Yep happened to me too.
I am just using direct dial shortcuts for now, that widget is way too unreliable.
I noticed mine were messed up after issues with contacting facebook.

Again, my were messed up after spending the entire weekend on roam and experiencing numerous LOS issues.
Contacts widget .. stumped
i am also having a similar problem. my contacts will not show up in the widget as they are in the list. doesn't matter what launcher i am running. this has got to be reasonably simple fix. Please and thx
What happened to the old buddies now widget from the OG epic. This one doesn't have no carousel effect and the pictures are blurry.
Buddies now widget Problem
Im getting this problem at random intervals it just resets and wipes all the tiles,
I have factory reset the phone and unchecked the auto-sync but it still resets,
it's Really Really starting to annoying me,
Anyone come across a solution on this?
If so please please share
So my Facebook widget will work, and then it wont. It does not show any info on it and it wont load facebook when I click it. I have to manually go into the app for it to load. If I remove the widget and re add it, it will work, for a little while anyway. I also noticed the same behavior with the Pandora widget. It will work, but then I will click it and it will not load the app. Same everything. Anyone have any ideas what could be causing this? Thanks.
It did the same thing on my EVO 4G LTE... I think it's an issue with the apps, not our phones.. It does the same on my GS3

I got a fresh new Note 7 few days ago, and installed Google Now Launcher as always, but it works in wierd way.
After few hours, it doen't show some widgets in home screen, neither on edit page.
When I reboot the phone, most of widgets were back but some have been missing yet.
Furthermore, in appdrawer there's no app at all.
I can run app from Google Now searchbar and home screen shortcuts, but nothing is in appdrawer.
I uninstalled and re-installed the launcher but nothing solved.
I tried to clear cashes and so on but app manager says there's no such a thing...
I have to reset my phone I guess, but that would be such a huge pain in the ass.
Does anyone esle has same problem with me? Any suggestions?
I had the same problem. Reading from the S7 area, it seems like it's Knox that is causing the problem. I believe they mentioned that you need to uninstall it. I haven't tried it. Need to do more research first before I try it myself.

That makes sense, I recall the problem occured just after me setting "secure foler". I have to visit Samsung Service Center since I don't wanna uninstall knox. Thank you very much giving me information.
Just played with it a bit more. If you don't need Secure Folder, you can just install that. Google Now Launcher will work correctly after rebooting. If, later on, you decide you would prefer Secure Folder, you can just reactivate it. I just tried it. I disabled Secure folders for now, since I really don't need it and I prefer Google Now.
