I had previously flashes my samsung glaxy s and i then wanted to get back to the latest officialy avalable firmware from samsung and here is what i did to get that:
flash my phone back to jf3 firmware from the following link samsung - firmwares
i then opened upgrade firmware in kies
then i put it into test mode by pressing ctrl + alt + u + p
after that you connect your galaxy s in kies mode and then it should give you the latest available official firmware for your device, for me it was jm3
please try this and let me know how it went
JM3? Can you please post the entire PDA version?
For flashing back to JF3 did you use the .512 or the .513 PIT file ?

Thank you. Will try this later today.
PS: For those who managed to re-flash from JF3 to official firmware using Kies in test mode, what CSC was installed in the phone's menu ? Check it by typing *#272*XXXX# where xxxx is your local time (14:57 = 1457 and so on..)
wrong post, sorry

Go to Menu-->settings-->Date and Time--> and check/choose 'use 24-hour format' option
Then go to phone keypad and type *#272*XXXX#
P.S. The 'XXXX' here are not letters but any 4 number digits that tells you your current time. For example, if your clock shows 12:30 PM then enter *#272*1230# and so on

I think those who managed to update via Kies were using a different sale code, not KOR
i noticed something after doing the update via kies, is that now i cant connect to kies when ever i try to connect using kies mode the mtp application which connects me to kies doesn't work and keeps closing and opening as lond as i am in kies mode,
any ideas on why that is

Interesting, that's a Switzerland code. Wondered if a UK code like XEU was needed. Changing JF3 to all of the region codes still didn't find any updates. I'm at a loss to think why it won't get the update. Started as an O2 phone.

Sure because you have a Spanish SGS and the M3 is for Italy (ITV).
I try to put my Spanish SGS with *#272*HHMM# in ITV with the F3, but kies won't update my SGS to the new firmware
Fyi managed to get my sgs back to official jm1 after flashing non official firmware -
Download JF3 from samsung firmwares
Flash with 513 pit file, choose repartition option
Start kies firmware upgrade and press ctrl-alt-u-p to put it into test mode
Connect phone, will see JM3 as the latest firmware
Upgrade phone firmware, you'll actually end up on the official JM1

During my experimentations, I found that the JF3 from Samsung-Firmwares seems only to have the option of being Swedish. I'm not more than convinced that we O2 users will have to wait for an O2 update to be made available in order to upgrade (pure speculation based on the 20 odd flashes I've done in the last couple of days in the attempt to get back to an official firmware). I tried the Vodafone JF3 also... but alas still no joy (although I didn't explore the sales codes with that one). I am now back to the unofficial JM2 with the modem from the JM5 pack.
I am now wondering whether obtaining a sim-unlock code from O2 would unbrand the phone sufficiently to obtain none o2 updates.. Any thoughts on this one?
Ooooh... S-F has a *new* JM1 update available.. I wonder if this is the one which has been released through Kies!

Hi everyone,
Have just purchased a new Galaxy Y here in China and restored to original factory settings however everything is in Chinese which isn't a problem as I can change the language to English however all the default Google Apps are missing and replaced with Chinese equivalents it seems so I'm unable to use them.
So... how can I restore it to a version of Android something functional for me? I'm on mac os x lion with vmware for any windows apps I need and am computer literate enough to attempt anything like flashing a device / updating a rom but have no idea where to start with this. Have read some docs on Odin but they made little sense at first because I don't quite know what steps I need to take in order to carry out this task. I've found various Roms but these are India, Netherlands, Greece versions, does anyone know of a UK version?
Any pointers would help greatly, thanks in advance!
Update: Just came across http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1465800 so am reading through here however I'm not sure which ROM to go for, the European pack work with sim cards in Asia?

first thing that the initial setup offers after full reset, is to change the language. It's the button on the the right hand side of the screen. if you press the green android, it's too late. then you must navigate to language setup by memory.

I've changed the language but it's a custom Chinese rom as China bans everything google so I need to get it on a normal UK Android setup or something, maybe the European pack from the aforementioned link?
Current versions as follows:

PHONE: S5360ZCKK2
CSC: S5360ZHKK2

Thank you for this, am just looking at Docky's stock roms now. Seems like the phone isn't locked to any specific network as accepts both Hong Kong and UK sim cards at the moment. I'm a little confused about setting the CSC and provider/region stuff after flashing it, basically I'm in Asia for the next 10 months and will have various sim cards from different countries and want them all to work. Possible do you think? Or will I have to flash to country specific firmware/csc relative to the sim card I'm inserting?

Well, Im in Asia country too. I tried Docky's Custom ROM which is based on XX which is European firmware and my phone works together with the SIM provider and network. So, the CSC is basically the language supported by your phone (based on my experience). Thus, Im sure you can use European firmware when you are in Asia country

I think the simpliest way to solve this is to update its firmware via samsung kies, besides its the official update you can get and you'll be sure it'll be safe. Ive updated mine through this method and havent tried the ODIN thing. Good luck though

Hi,
I really appreciate all the posting which is done on this site, and it has helped me many times (as I often act as the 'family' technician who can fix things).
But this time, I inherited a bricked Vietnamese Galaxy Young. The issue I have is that event though I installed ODIN in its most recent release, the phone in DOWNLOAD mode is not recognized on the 2 computers I usually use on other Samsung phones.
Is there an Asian-specific driver which needs to be used?
Alas, the phone was backed up using the CWM backup, but it refuses to boot into CWM (just hangs at logo). The only mode it boots into is Downlaod mode. But it need to be recognized correctly before Odin can do anything
Thanks for suggestions

make sure samsung usb drivers are installed - use rear usb ports not front ones and you can try a different usb cable (there is no specific regional driver just a generic samsung usb driver)
once in download mode connect usb cable to pc
push vol up on phone to start connection (wait a 30 secs in case drivers start installing)
open odin 3.07
if it is connected it will say com then a number in a coloured box under com:id on the left hand side
Hi guys.
I have just received my new Galaxy Note II. Live in Denmark, and on the box it says "approved for nordic operators".
I don't have the multiview function. Holding the back arrow doesn't activate anything, and there is no menu option I haven't turned on, as far as I see.
I heard this was a problem with European models, but I also read that Samsung had issued an update to fix it.
According to the phone, I have the newest software version.
I tried to upgrade firmware via Kies. Updated Kies. Tried both on my PC and Mac. The only message I get is that my device does not support firmware update via Kies. Very annoying.
I made some search on the net, I even tried Kies mini, but without effect.
Does anyone have an idea about what I should try?
I post a screenshot of my system information.
Thanks a lot. Take care.
Agoston
Not exactly sure how to help you but I'm sure it's probably that the update isn't available in your region. I could be wrong but the only way I know of at this point in time to fix this is to root and manually download and apply the update.
The update has been available in Spain just today. They are releasing it in different countries at different times, maybe to avoid problems with their servers.
Just wait a couple of days more.

1. downloading the update from here:
http://samsung-updates.com/device/?id=GT-N7100
2. and following these directions:

Do you think this can hurt/brick the phone or cause problems?
Thanks,

Try reading through Dr Kevin's threads again, just to be sure. Re-download the rom you want, from a different source and double check the MD5. Doesn't sound permanent, just a bad flash. Make sure you wipe everything again.
Thanks for the reply i re-downloaded the the same firmware again from sammobile incase somehow it became corrupted the first time with no luck same result could you point me to another sourse to download firmwares i have tried a similar firmware from another site but it on gave me the one file instead of the three which i flash with pda within odin but the problem was still there

The one file has all the other files like modem, csc in it.. This kind of error usually happens if the data is not wiped out. But as you said you have already done that several times, I don't know what might be the problem..

Usually the product code is set when you Factory reset your phone in Recovery mode.. In your case it has not changed.
I checked in the Sammobile for Ireland based roms. But all seems to be carrier branded. So BTU rom should ideally work as it contains EIR CSC

Yes Sure someone more knowledgeable can help, you can PM your problem to Dr.Ketan (Search in this forum) he is rely genius.
Look my signature for N7100 toolbox, find PIT and download it
extract to .pit
Flash that PIT for PIT tab of odin (selecting pit will auto select re partition optiuon, keep it selected)
Again repeat but this time along with ROM file (single file ROM also enough). Rom file for PDA and pit file for PIT
Flash and report back.

Try first Combination Firmware for SM-R810:

You can select this Single file into AP... in Odin
Code:

Where would i find the firmware files for the LTE version of SM-R815U? I want to convert to USA. Mine is AT&T and stuck on 4.0.0.1. Also how would i go about flashing it? Im new to this, sorry. Thx
@equlizer
To find SM-R815U Firmware follow this thread...

What ever you mean with convert...
I hope you have SM-R815U and not something else...
ATT has ATT as CSC...
XAR is for US... but IMHO this is strange CSC...
So IMHO easiest way to prevent toooooo much time waste... jump direct to CSL2 with netOdin.
OWN RISK!

I have a 815u but it won't work in Canada. Where is firmware for Canadian version of 42mm LTE? Can I flash it safely?
I want to be able to use LTE in canada. The watch i have right now is USA AT&T. Can i change the CSC or flash canadian firmware?

Could you help me?
Best regards.
Could someone possibly tell me where I can find the latest firmware for the SM-825U?
I ordered a Gear S watch charger, should be here tomorrow. I watched the video, just cannot for the life of me figure out why I can't find the firmware!
Thanks in advance.

I have a 46mm LTE R805W (Canada) version and it's still on 4.0.0.0 which seems to be the launch version. I've tried putting both Speakout and Rogers sim cards into my phone and see if software update finds anything, but it doesn't appear to. I've seen others using Canadian models get updates to 4.0.0.7 and wondering how I can do it.
On a side note, when I do the CSC change, it only shows XAC, so it looks like my firmware doesn't have multi CSC. Anyone know where to get R805W firmwares so I could manually flash them?
Thanks

Hey, sorry, didn't see your reply.
AP: R805WVLU1ARH3
CP: R805WVLU1ARH3
CSC: R805WOYV1ARH3
No eSim activated. I plan to use it as a BT model. I got it at a good price used, and I didn't know so much hassle with LTE versions for updating (must go through carrier, etc).
Thanks!
I know 3 ways to update...
A
FOTA aka over the air
Phone AND Watch is paired AND with this funny Samsung App...
Funny Samsung app download to Phone... tranfer to Watch... update
B
FOTA aka over the air
Watch is Standalone NOT paired with Phone...
In Settings extra menu to update
C
Leaked Firmware packages
With Tools like
Code:
netOdin over WiFi
or for repair with USB cable
Code:
Odin
--------------------------------------------
I have NO LTE device...
So I was wondering about Threads where users asks how to update... they not receive Update not with method A nor B...
This remembers me on my old Phone... GT-I9300 aka S3...
I remember I was forced to insert SIM card... otherwise FOTA App not worked...
Maybe Samsung made something similar "amazing" to LTE devices...
LTE devices have own IMEI like Phone...
LTE devices have "SIM" aka eSIM...
All I can say... latest Firmware is leaked...

You can compare with the official FOTA Server...

Strange that it hasnt auto updated. I have the 805W as well and it updated before i hooked it up to the network. SL3 is the latest. You may have to flash via wifiOdin. Its straight forward if you can find the firmware files. LTE in canada will only work on Bell and Telus btw.

I ordered a 0.99 CAD Bell sim card to see if that's enough to trigger the update. If not, my brother can come next week with his work Bell phone and I'll pull the sim card from there and reset the phone and do an update.
I didn't realize these LTE watches are basically the same as carrier branded smartphones where the carrier completely controls the firmware rollout. If you're not on the network (Bell/Telus), you can't update at all. I'm on the OG firmware, older than a lot of those leaked firmwares.

Guys, I just googled the lastest firmware, and the first link actually lets you download it for free because it's not marked exclusive/feature:
https://support.halabtech.com/index.php?a=downloads&b=folder&id=41306
They actually host it on a google drive link. I can pm it to you or you guys can create your own account, but could you help me tell if a firmware is legit or not? Don't want to brick.
Inside the archive is the 4 files:
CP_R805WVLU1BSL3_CL1315275_QB14570749_SIGNED.TAR.ZIP
AP_R805WVLU1BSL3_USR.TAR.ZIP
BL_R805WVLU1BSL3_USR.TAR.ZIP
CSC_OYV_R805WOYV1BSL3_USR.TAR.ZIP
Thanks!
I have no access to this Link...
Can not download...
Best Regards
Those are repair firmwares. You don't want that. You want this:

https://android.stackexchange.com/q...msung-4-filesrepairing-firmware-and-single-fi
From here, it seems that Odin should be able to flash the 4 files separately fine as well? Only diff seems to be that single file won't wipe data, but the 4 file repair will.
***
https://samsungfirmware.net/how-to-flash-samsung-firmware-using-odin/
From here, it seems that both combination and 4 can be used.
I haven't opened up odin wifi version to see if it's the same as the regular odin, but if it has the normal BL/AP/CP/CSC boxes, then that should be fine. As long as the firmware matches the model.
***
https://androidfilehost.com/?w=search&s=r805w
There is a combination file for an older one on AndroidFileHost, but it's kinda random sitting there, so I didn't want to touch it.
I was able to download... after few times of unzip... the final result looks like this:
Code:
BL_R805WVLU1BSL3_usr.tar.[B]md5[/B]
AP_R805WVLU1BSL3_usr.tar[B].md5[/B]
CP_R805WVLU1BSL3_CL1315275_QB14570749_SIGNED.tar.[B]md5[/B]
CSC_OYV_R805WOYV1BSL3_usr.tar.[B]md5[/B]
netOdin is doing selfcheck, if MD5 Hashes of tar.md5 files are correct...
I was too lazy to do this.
For me these files looks correct for SM-R805W (XAC) to flash to latest BSL3 Firmware.
Best Regards

Any files with the .md5 means they are clean/legit? Samsung hashes the files and Odin will check the md5 to ensure the files are not tampered with? That sounds good... if Odin accepts, then the files should be good.
