My camera whether on video or photo is out of focus... HELP
Seems like it is stuck in a Macro mode. Up close it is fine, I pull back and it gets fuzzy. I've reset to defaults and tried wiping... HELP
Tmobile will replace your hpone unless rooted, but I think you must have warranty

As long as there is no water damage call T-Mobile. They are going to go through some troubleshooting with you. After seeing that nothing worked you will get issued a Manf. Warranty replacement device.
Just make sure you unroot the device before you send it back, you have 7 days before you recieve your replacement.

The phone still has factory warranty on it, being that the phone has only been out for a little over two months and you get a year. So you could def get a replacement.

i think you need to call/email them for assistance.
You simply call customer service (611) from your phone tell them what's going on, and they will troubleshoot the problem with you. Now if your problem can't be fixed after the troubleshooting they should issue you a replacement. Keep in mind Manf. Warranty does not cover water damage, and if your phone is rooted I advise you to unroot.

Just a little pointer though, i just went through a similar situation. Dont bother unrooting till after you get the new phone in the mail. You'll have like 7 days to make the switch and be able to keep your phone the way you like it in the mean time.

I bought a used DInc on ebay. I have another DInc and it works (rooted + S-OFF) fine.
The new (ebay used) will not connect to 3G. Sometimes I can force 1X to show up but still it or miss as to if the data will actually work. When it does connect it takes about 5 min. for the 1x to show up then. I have decent bars. I can force 1X sometimes by toggling Airplane mode. I have tried stock (day 1) RUU and the latest stock RUU.
I have also spent 2 hours on line with VZW and they pushed updates, *228, forced new IP etc. No luck. They will not warranty it since it was not bought on my account originally.
I think it is a radio issue (baseband) I have tried 1.00.03.04.06 and 2.15.00.07.28.
Wifi works ok.
Any ideas???
Have you tried rooting it and flashing custom roms? Not sure if that would do anything as far as the 3g, but it could be worth a shot
i have rooted it and soff and different basebands. Roms it self I have only tried different VZW stock roms.
I'm guessing you tried option 2 on *228 as well, and not just option 1? What does it say when you turn your mobile network on in your wireless settings, does it hang on "Turning on..." ? or does it just say "no 3g service available". Have you tried unrooting, putting back to s-on, and doing a hard factory reset? It might be worth it just to see if it fixes your 3g issue, maybe something to do with rooting/s-off before you program the phone. If it does, then try rooting and going back to s-off. Other than that, maybe just keep trying *228 opt 1 to see if it programs eventually. Maybe you'll get lucky. 3g network can get funky sometimes, theres a chance it could program fine in a few days.
It says "Turning on..." I have tried 228 both 1 and 2
I just tried unrooted stock and still the same. I also tried all the v2 radios and still same. Looks like I have real nice wifi/multimedia player.
I am using the same VZW line for this new droid and the old one. (one at a time of course) The old one activates and 3G is fine. It is pain to activate though since VZW makes me call a real person when I switch the lines. The web site to enter the ESN/MEID is not working right. I have been going back and forth the last two days quite often trying to trouble shoot and still use my good phone for work when I need it.
VZW said to send it to the Manufacturer and they should honor the 1 yr warranty from date of manufacture. Incidentally after calling 3 phone numbers I end up at PCD not HTC since PCD actually services HTC phones sold by Verizon.
Had same issue. Returned for a Fascinate. When I returned a Vzw Rep was at the store restocking phones. She said as far as reception HTC is their worst phone. Its amazing for everything else. I'd have a bar or two of 1x where my wife would have 3 or 4 of 3G on her cheap ass LG Ally!!

That's funny it is just the opposite for me, I always have good reception and my wife's ally has crappy reception and constant FCs and random crashes. She hates the thing lol.

Yeah my other DInc is great for reception. It beats out my aircard from work and my wife's Blackberry.

I just got a refurb replacement for my GN from Verizon because my first GN had no recovery image on it which prevented me from doing factory resets and doing the 4.0.4 update. I just got the new one in the mail and after setting it up and installing 4.0.4 there are terrible data connection issues. If I have 4G turned on and begin using the internet in anyway, browser, facebook, etc.. it only hold the connection for 30 seconds max and it loses all network entirely preventing me from using the web or making calls until it reestablishes connection which takes like 30 seconds. Now when i'm not using 4G and just on standard network, I can make calls and send txts without a problem and it holds the connection just fine. Is there a fix to this issue? Is it a faulty device or is this a known issue for 4.0.4? Im going to go back to VZW for another replacement unless I get an answer here. Rooting is not an option because I want to keep my warranty because there are so many damn issues with this phone. Thanks

They don't know what it is. I'm on my 4th replacement device and still same issues as you. They said next one I can either get a Maxx or wait for a SG3 for my troubles. OK

gfropr, did VZW actually tell you the SGSIII was an option? I finally went in and they told me I could swap mine out for either the Bionic or the Razr and I asked about the SIII and they really weren't sure if it was an option because it's not out yet. I'm going to be very mad if they make me swap for anything Motorola and I'm for sure not going to get the iPhone.

They told me they would make an exception and I can get a Razr Maxx or wait for a SG3. At first they offered Mr a Charge or Razr lol. I said I WILL NOT downgrade.
They will not let you get a IPhone BTW.

Hi all. I am having an issue with my phone. I bought this phone and it was running on 4.1.1 stock. I wanted to unlock it for T-mobile using the free unlock method (sha256_off). When I put in my T-mobile microsim (which was cut from regular sim) I cannot connect to the mobile network. Instead of bars I see a circle with a line through it. I tried a friend's ATT microsim and it acted the same way. Does anyone know what else I can try to get it to work? I called ATT to verify that the IMEI is clean and multiple reps confirmed it is.
The other question I have is if this is some hardware issue can I still get the Samsung warranty to fix it? My phone had the glass replaced (not full LCD), would they reject the warranty for that reason if I sent it in?
Thanks so much!

Did it ever work before you did the unlock?
Once it is opened by any repair shops/person other than Samsung your warranty is void. They may take it in for repair but it will cost you money.
Trying doing a firmware recovery via Kies. Just search on how to do a manual recovery by putting your phone into download mode and also having your imei ready in hand. This will/may get the phone back to factory stock. Hope that helps.

No signal bars usually means no compatible modem or data is disabled. Try an at&t sim and see if data is turned off.
Also check your APNs, no apn, no service... They should automatically be downloaded from the carrier, usually.
So my wifes phone no longer likes to be bothered with phone calls or text messages. Her phone has been running flawlessly since we got it and about a month ago she dropped it and cracked the screen. It was too the point where the touch screen wouldn't respond to anything and we had to have it fixed. She took it to one of those places in the mall and they said they could have it back to us in a week or so. Once she got it back, she has had constant issues with not being able to connect to the Sprint Network (only for phone calls, data and wifi still work fine). She often roams but still with very little signal strength. She tried a factory reset, as per the Sprint Customer Service suggestion, and it did nothing. She had remained Unrooted up until this point and I finally convinced her to come to the dark side. I did the root, installed TWRP, and flashed her with Optimus DE. I got no change. I reflashed her Radio. Still nothing. I am at Wits end on this one and ask for some guidance. It would be much appreciated
(ps. She doesn't have insurance on her phone.)

It sounds like the antenna may not have been reconnected upon completion of the screen replacement. At this point though I would attempt a PRL and profile update for the phone. If that still doesn't work I would take it back to the repair shop and request they check the antenna since it was working before the repair.
This ^^^^ And also, Optimus DE can have weaker signal. Try a Stock ish ROM. You can also try going to Settings>About>More>Mobile Networks and check CDMA. It can help too.

Thanks for the suggestions, I will let her know about the antenna issue, that sounds like it possibly could be the case. I tried Stocktimus as well as Optimus DE, I just forgot to mention it. I chose the most basic (closest to Stock option) it had.
Also, I tried the PRL and Profile update and it had no change in signal.
Thanks for the replies.
