Download and install Windows Marketplace for Mobile.
And there are many places on the web to find Windows Mobile apps (download to your computer and transfer or download directly to your phone).
Links to freeware available here on XDA.

Thank you!

BTW.. as far as I can tell and I have looked everywhere you will NOT Be able to use 3G or HSDPA on the Tilt2 with T-mobile it would SEEM to be a hardware issue as T-mobile 3G Is on a different frequency than AT&T If yours gets 3G Let me know. Becuase I have a Tilt2 on T-mobile as well and havent been able to get better than Edge network

That's right -- different 3G bands/frequencies, and since it's a hardware thing it's not fixable by flashing a different radio ROM.

Orange & T-mobile network merge

It's up and running.
I now have full signal roaming on the orange network, not tried it with any anger but seems good so far - I also seem to have 3g data whilst roaming
Theres a link on the t-mobile home page
I signed up a while ago and I cant use orange network. How did you make it roam on orange?
Sent from the past.
Its only in a "beta" phase, if you run out of Tmobile (or Orange) signal completely then it will switch to the other service if that is available.
At some point early 2011 your phone will start to use whichever has the stronger signal.
Ahh shame. I only get 2g at home on t-mobile wish it could switch to orange as my home has good coverage. This could make me stick to t-mobile now!
What if at home I force wcdma? Will it connect to orange then? Must try it!

Try forcing it to orange :-
wireless & networks -> mobile networks -> network operators -> search networks
and select t-mobile orange
Wonder if this could be automated with tasker depending on location?

And that's why Orange are great. Don't you with t-mobile merge with someone else now???you will.
you can sign up with orange as well, you'll get sim updates, delete and your good to go.

Yea I signed up on the orange site now I can roam.
Yep, I have it working. You must set it up first: http://support.t-mobile.co.uk/help-and-support/index?page=home&cat=USING_ORANGE_SIGNAL
-----------------------------------
- HTC Desire via XDA App -
It worked for my mrs sony erik, but mine still says "won't work with this sim"......
Works here. I registered on the Orange site and got a text saying it was ready, but it wouldn't work til about 3 hours later when I got a sim update from Orange. It now says Orange T-Mobile when I manually search for the network. The only issue is I don't think I ever lose Orange signal wherever I go..

Same here, I have to MANUALLY search and set. Does anyone know if this new "T-Mobile/Orange" network we are finding simply works with both? Or if we go out of range of a 'converted' transmitter, will we have to look (i.e. search again) for the original Orange (or T-M) network? Seems a bit Heath-Robinson if you ask me.
Is there a way on the Desire of setting more than one network as 'preferred'? I used to be able to do that on an old S-E I think.
Mine is set to auto and now mine yoyo's between T-Mobile and T-Orange depending on signal strength.
2G only!!??
Just realized this is a 2G only thing. Disappointed

[Q] 3g gps not working htc tilt 2 with t-mobile

hello All,
I got a AT&T HTC touch pro 2 (tilt 2) from my friend who had got it unlocked from AT&T as he got upgraded to a new phone. I am using a t-mobile prepaid on the touch pro 2. I have got couple of issues with it.
1. The UI responds very slowly.
2. The data connection icon displays E. When I called up the t-mobile customer care they response varies a lot. One says i need to unlock the device from AT&T and others says i will be able to use only Edge as its not a device provided by t-mobile.
3. The GPS doesnt seem to work. When ever i used Bing. It says that its not able to connect.
I have a request is there any customisable rom that would help in over coming these issues.
Regards,
Mahesh
Same here, but other way round
I have a T-Mobile TouchPro 2 I've been using an AT&T SIM in, and I can tell you exactly what's up- The ROM is probably trying to refresh stuff in the background and it's not working because it's expecting an AT&T SIM. Try another ROM. As far as 3G, not gonna happen. T-Mobile's 3G runs on different bands than the AT&T 3G. The T-Mobile SIM wouldn't even start up the phone if it wasn't unlocked. And I think the GPS settings might be wrong, try fiddling around with the COM ports in Settings, but make sure you make a note of what they were before. I'd recommend a custom ROM, not to solve the problems you speak of necessarily, but it runs a lot faster, and won't have all the AT&T bloatware that's kinda useless to you. Oh, and if you don't have Connection Manager setting everything up for you in your ROM, make sure you set your APN.

ROM difference between i927 & i927R and 4G symbol

Hi,
Being in Australia the Captivate Glide is not available locally so ordered it online via a parallel importer.
I was supposed to receive the AT&T version but due to no stock I received the Rogers i927R version.
I cannot root the device as my work place prevents it since I need to use it for work related messaging.
1. Is there a list of differences between the AT&T and Rogers ROM's ?
2. I'm on Optus which uses 900/2100MHz, so the phone will connect on 2100.
Using an App called Network Signal Info I can see data connection switching when I'm moving around as normal, but the data symbol in the notification bar doesn't match when on 3G as follows:
NetInfo | Speed | Notif-Bar-Symbol
GPRS | 55kbit | G
UMTS (3G) | 384kbit | 4G <-- doesnt say 3G
HSDPA | 7.2Mbit | 4G
This a bug or ROM incompatibility ?
Thanks.
The only differences I know of is that the Rogers ROM is carrier-iq free and the tethering option is unlocked.
In my AT&T version, I can't find any way to manually toggle between 2G and 3G networks. However the network info apps/widget show it's automatically switching between EDGE, HSDPA and HSPA.

It would be handy to sometimes by able to force 2G to save battery.
Anyway, can the Rogers ROM be flashed onto the AT&T Glide and still work ?

Good point.
Sounds like I should stick with the Rogers one they sent me rather than swap it for an AT&T version since the Rogers one will be most compatible without having to 'root'.
Carriers in Australia seem to allow tethering by default as long as you have a working App for it.
Thanks.
Which parallel importer did you use, do they have an online storefront?
Hope the Rogers version pricing comes down as fast the AT&T one. That's I went for At&T, down the line I'll end up flashing it with an open ROM. Mostly because of OpenVPN support.

Indeed that's why I asked, since I don't use any data packages.
I checked my mom's S II, appears to be an AT&T carrier limitation. It won't even scan for other networks. I set her S II to 2G.
Earlier I wasn't concerned with the AT&T ROM, but this one is annoying, I could save some serious battery time by switching to 2G.

They've been very helpful and responsive, trying to get stock as quickly as possible.
When they couldnt get the AT&T Captivate Glide they sent me the Rogers Galaxy S Glide.
Seems that was the better way to go.
AT&T locks down their network and band select while Rogers does not. AT&T uses an "H+" on the HSDPA network to show status while Rogers uses a "4G".
Learned by flashing Rogers ROM onto an ATT cglide. Changed the model to 927R as well. Went back to ATT when I noticed the loss of the ATT wifi options.

So even after rooting the phone, there's no way to manually change bands while on the AT&T ROM?

I'm using the Rogers version in Australia.
I have all the normal WiFi options and have used it at home and on public ones with no issues.
I think, just guessing, that Tynar is talking about the customized WiFi options on the AT&T ROM I have read about which gives you access to their own WiFi network.

Yep, I since had a look at the User Guides, of which there is a different one for each version Rogers and AT&T. The ROM's have been customized to show different symbols for mobile connectivity.

Ya... Thats at&t limitation, I guess... But atleast in my sister's AT&T Thrill phone (running Froyo + rooted with SuperOneClick) the "NETWORK" app (LINK) from AM/PlayStore works and helps in selecting 2G only or 3G only whenever needed...
But even that app is NOT working on my rooted CapGlide... May be because this phone has only rooted-ROM and not rooted-Kernal (as told by rooting guide in cap.glide development section)... Experienced members please help... I badly need 2G only for battery backup and 3G only for good speed as 3G coverage in my place is not great...
Thanks...

With AT&T Rom, you don't have that option.
You can flash Rogers Room (Untouched or Custom Rom) where you have the option of manually choosing network and choosing 2G/3G
Switching to 2G would really save on battery life.
So the notable differences are...
1. The AT&T ROM doesn't allow band switching or manual carrier search and selection. While the Rogers ROM does not have this restriction?
2. AT&T allows WiFi tethering, while Rogers doesn't?
3. Both versions come with Mail for Exchange apps?
4. Skype, G+ Hangouts, Google Talk, Voice and video works on both?
Please add/correct any other big differences. I'll make a table and put it up on Wikipedia once we have the notable differences, that could cause issues with international use.

[Q] LTE Access on T-Mobile with AT&T S III

I've been searching both the T-Mobile and AT&T S III forums but haven't found my specific question.
I have an unlocked AT&T S III that I'd like to move over to T-Mobile. While I was in their store today I was told that I couldn't access their new LTE network in my area until Samsung sent out an OTA update. I know all LTE networks aren't created equally but I'm accessing AT&T's just fine, averaging about 32Mbps down and 10Mbps up.
I can't find any information about a Samsung update that would let me access T-Mobile's LTE network. I did a few speed tests with their SIM card in the store and the best result was 3Mbps down and 1Mbps up.
Any thoughts on this supposed OTA update or what I'd need to do to access their LTE using my unlocked AT&T S III?
For what it's worth, I'm currently running CM 10.1 M2.
Well according to this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_LTE_networks
Both At&t and Tmobile use 1700/2100 AWS. So once Tmobile releases the new Galaxy S3 someone can extract the radio from it's firmware. You could then flash the radio on your device. Alternatively you could simply enter the APN settings from Tmobile's Galaxy Note II which already (due to recent firmware update) supports Tmobile's lte network.
You can use this site to check on the progress of Tmobile's lte deployment.http://sensorly.com/map/4G/US/USA/T-Mobile/lte_310260

The APN change is a solution I haven't heard about. I'll probably head back to the store tomorrow to test this theory. I'll give feedback regardless of how it goes.
Please do I had the exact same question and I would appreciate it. Thank you.

I wasn't able to test this theory today because I couldn't find reliable T-Mobile LTE settings. I also read that changing or adding new APN settings can have adverse effects like Google Now not working. This makes me a little hesitant to try it even if I can find the right config.

Ah ok, you should be able to delete apn settings you add after testing. I don't have the phone in my possession or else I would test it myself. The settings I believe are changing the apn to fast.t-mobile.com while keeping everything else the same.

Straight talk galaxy s3 Verizon version

I have the straight talk galaxy s3 that runs on Verizon towers...I have my contract 4G sim in the phone running a Verizon rom and everything does work but it roams everywhere I go and I don't get any 4G (disabled by straight talk). I was wondering if flashing a sprint rom would help at all? I seen the sticky saying not to flashing any rom from another carrier but I've flashed dozens of different roms and all has been good except the roaming. Anyways, just wanted to see if I could get some help here. Thanks in advance
What would it take to enable the 4G on this phone?

You might have to configure your APNs, or, if you haven't for a long time, you might need to update your modem, since you don't get that sort of update with custom ROMs. On my Virgin Mobile phone, I have to flash an APN fix on every new ROM, otherwise I just have 3G.

The straight talk version I have runs off Verizon towers and they have 4G disabled but the phone is suppose to be 4G enabled. The apn fixes didn't help. I'm wondering if this would need something like cdma workshop.
Ah, I see. Yeah, if the 4g is blocked on multiple ROMs, you'll need an app to fiddle with the sim card. Hopefully it's not hard blocked (a physical switch or the card is incapable of it even though the phone is)! I'd try to contact Straight Talk and/or see if it works on stock. If you're trying to get 4g without straight talk knowing, well, I don't know much about that, but CDMA workshop or something similar might be worth a shot.
I was thinking cdma workshop would be the answer but I don't know where they have it turned off. It sucks being confined to 3G when the phone is 4G compatible and straight talk will allow 4G on there Verizon network now.
