I recall reading about someone who had this issue with one (but not all) of their el-cheapo MonoPrice chargers. Maybe a grounding issue with the charger cable (beyond the grounding issue the phone had universally until 2.2 update). So, questions for you...
Have you tried more than one charger, and if so, does the phone behave this way on them all? If not, are you using a MonoPrice charger by any chance?
yep - are you using the OEM charger and cable? Mine works fine with I use the HTC charger, but not when I use another microusb charger I have.

Never thought off that, I'm traveling and had to get a cheap charger...when I get home I'll use my oem and see what happens, thanks guys...
Welp
My 2 cents ... I am on my 3rd incredible and have found all 3 do get slower while charging, and I guess you might say 'unresponsive' but 'delayed response intermittently' might be a better phrasing. I suspect that part of the issue is that the battery/phone gets warmer while the charging is going on, and if it gets to a heat issue, the phone may start clocking down a bit.

So when the unresponsive screen when grounded issue came about, I didn't really notice the problem much myself. However, recently, and I'm not sure when this started, the screen has become horribly unresponsive when charging any time! Doesn't matter if it's on desk, in my hand, stock charger, 3rd party charger, etc., if it's charging at all, the touch screen only accepts half or less of my inputs, making typing impossible. Is this due to the last software update? Anyone else experience this issue? I would exchange the phone, but not if it's not going to help anything.
this happens to me when i use my cheap ebay charger
The fps lifting kernels fix this.
+1 for symtoms seen when using a wonky charger/cable.
+1 due to cheap charger - anyone know why this happens? is the OEM usb cable different spec from the cheap ones?
Hate to beat a dead horse, but the same happens when I plug my phone into the charger I got from eBay. Kind of disappointing, considering that I would otherwise be able to charge two batteries at the same time.
I notice this issue with the stock charger.
I believe the issue was when its not grounded..
Being plugged in is just about the most grounded your phone can get.
That's not the problem.
Starting to do it to me also now.
Just to be clear, this happens to me with the STOCK charger.

I'm having the same issue. i just chocked it up to the new kernel.
one thing i did notice is it seems to be intermittent. Yesterday night, it worked fine. this morning(conveniently when my alarm went off) i could NOT get the dismiss thingy to slide down.
Anyone else experiencing this? I do think it got worse after last software update. Would be nice if the next one improved things.
I emailed support, they did not say anything about it being a known issue, and suggested a factory reset. If that doesn't help, they recommended using my warranty. Would like to hear from more people before going through with the reset.
It happens to me when charging via outlet. Charging via USB connected to computer does not produce the issue.
I think it has to do with grounding.
Same thing happens to me! I noticed it with my aftermarket wall charger.
Bringing this back up, happens to me with a Stock charger.
Is it really the kernel? :\
@Person who said charging is the most grounded, the stock charger is not grounded ( in AU anyway ) and therefore it is the LEAST grounded.
ive noticed this happening over the past month or so. i've got to admit i've only really noticed this when its plugged into a usb cord i got off ebay. relieving to think it might only be an issue with it being a cheap cable and not the phone but i'll verify tonight with the stock cable.
I've been plagued by this problem for weeks and just discovered that it only happens when charging. I use the stock charging cable and wall adapter. I'm very, very happy to know what the problem is. I'm going to start testing this at various locations.
EDIT: I've tried this on both the wall adapter at work and on my work computer's usb. Same problem, though it seems worse when plugged into the wall outlet.
The touchscreen is fine on my sprint brand car charger and on the usb charger on my laptop. However, it starts missing taps when I plug my usb cable into my usb car charger. I'm going to best buy tonight to buy a different charger and see if that helps.

I have these issues as well with the stock charger and cable regardless of which kernel I use.
Both mine AND my girlfriends gs2 have this problem. When the phone is charging, the touchscreen is not reading the correct point of where I touch. Anyone else having this problem?
Yeah we all are. There is something wrong with the square adapter that came with the phone. Try plugging it into a PC to charge or using a different adapter. It works fine.
I noticed this as well, but only with non-OEM adapters.
And I thought it was only me. Get the same problem only with cheap chargers.
OEM, MT4G, Transformer, Touchpad, Galaxy Player, Ipad & iPhone chargers all do not experience the problem.

I get this problem even when plugged into the oem adapter...!

I don't and I also have this problem.
I believe its the square Samsung charging adapter.
Powered by the SGSII....
Ditto here, it behaves Ok when charged from my laptop, PC and Motorola charger (came with my Milestone), but definitely quirky when charged from the square little adapter that came with the SGS-T989D.
Add me to this list as well.

Same here, but it does change when I use another Samsung adapter like the one from my Vibrant it'll actually work once i use that one.
I have the problem with non-oem...oem is just fine for me
This is happening to me. I am using a Quikcharger for Samsung which I bought from Sears. Anyway to fix this? Because the OEM square charger + data cable is to short to use in bed.

it only happens with defective charging cables
how i know?... i just accidentally crippled a pin of my existing charger, and now even though it still charges, it causes all kind of random weird things in my phone.
so i simply stopped using it, and changed to another charging cable

So you are saying the OEM wire is defective? Has anyone used the cube with a different wire or vice versa?
I just bought this new charger from Sears and it still gives me a quirky screen

I'm using the OEM charger and I haven't noticed anything like this happening.
I. Get. That problem with the oem charger and cable that came with the phone. After Market charger and cable do Not give me that problem?

This is a known issue with the SGS2. Any inconsistencies or issues with the power supply via AC will cause the screen to tweak out. Possible causes are a bad cable, bad power source (outlet), or improperly inserted microUSB connector. If you try a number of times and cannot get the cable to connect properly, return it or get a new one.

it's not a SGS2 only issue, it happens to all the other phones i've owned before
So... this old problem is back with a twist. Basically the thing beeps and wakes the screen up when it's done charging and keeps doing it on a timer or something.
I'd like to disable this but the solution that worked on ZVD (Xposed framework and G2 Xposed) doesn't work anymore.
Anyone have any ideas on how i'd disable this rather annoying behavior?
Mine used to do this all the time. As it turns out the charging cable had gone bad. I replaced it and it has never done it since. You may want to try a new cable.

Bother... The problem is that i'm not using a standard cable as I shoehorned one of those wireless conversion kit antennas in between the case and phone. I'll have to remove it and plug it in to see what happens. (still have the original charger and cable)
Whelp, thanks for the insight.

Yup... plugged it into the charger yesterday when I got home and it only binged at me once when it was done charging.
I'll have to do some testing and see what was causing the issue, the charging pad or the wireless charger. I'll have to try the other one I have.
So I have recently noticed that my phone would often not fast charge when connected to the outlet. The lock screen just displays charging. From yesterday I've had another problem where the lock screen does say charging rapidly but the phone fails to charge at all. Sits at a constant percentage. Does anyone know why this may be happening and any solutions? I'm using the charger and cable provided with the phone.

I don't think it's broken as it was not charging fine when I posted this but after trying again repeatedly it started charging. Anyway if I do get a cable is there a good cable which works with this phone? I am scared of getting one because of all the issues that have been plaguing USB c cables.

I see you do not understand what "USB cable broken" means.. after the metal wire inside got broken - it still works in multiple cable positions (bends)..
Anyway, these are the cables - get a few of them (of different length for instance)

P.S. As there are plenty of old-fashioned crap around us (i.e. carrying those pesky microUSB sockets) - get this tiny but very useful converter to use along with your new cables:

SO yeah, I've seen where people have had software issues causing this on the Note 8, and S8 models, is it a bug that crept into the S9 as well? The tech at the Sprint store verified the cleanliness and dryness of the port, thinks it's the port, and they won't have parts to fix it for probably a month or so. I REALLY don't want to send it in to be fixed, so I bought a couple wireless chargers.

It it showing constantly or only when a cable is plugged in? If it's with a cable, have you tried other cables? I had my phone give me that message earlier today when plugging in an incompatible hub. The hub wasn't even connected to anything.
Have you checked with your wife?

All the time. It has a popup with sound when you plug it in. The rest of the time, it's just a notification in the tray.

Yeah, tried rebooting, wiped cache, power down all the way, multiple times. Tried plugging the cable in while booting. It looks to be charging while plugged in and powered down.
So, the message went away, and it would charge with 2 different chargers, normal speed, not fast charge. Would not work with a charger I have here at home. None are Samsung chargers, but all are QC 3.0, which will report as fast charging on the phone. Then today it charged fast in the truck, and the one at home works, but only slow speed.
I'm not going to stress over it as long as the fast wireless charging keeps working. The battery life is more than enough to get me through a day, and I'm ordering stuff to integrate wireless chargers into the vehicles.
Thanks for reading and trying to help!

I probably missed to ask before, but are you sure you are using the original cable, together with the original power charger?
As stressed by @DeadlySin9 the problem may be the cable. Try other cables.

Yeah, I had tried the original cord and charger. whatever it was effected the phone before even plugging it in. The message would be there in the notifications, then plugging the cable in would set off an "alarm" telling me to unplug it and let it dry.
A couple weeks later and it is working just fine, charging with pretty much any cord, and charger. Ugh. I hope it stays that way! LOL At least Sprint DID give me a pretty good discount on a 2 pack of wireless chargers, which is what I use most of the time, now.

Thumbs up!
So, I've had this problem with my new Galaxy s9 as well. Here's the specifics - this only happens IF the phone dies from running out of power. If I let the battery drain on accident, I plug in the device...new cord/charger, original cord/charger, doesn't matter...and it shows the charging symbol for just a second, and then warning there's moisture in the charging port. There's not... If I set the phone on top of a wireless charging pad for a few mins, it charges just fine.
All I have to do is get 3 - 4 % so I can power on the device and get to the home screen. If I can get to the home screen, I can plug the phone in with the cord/charger and no problems.
I just did a warranty replacement because this problem is real annoying. I don't let the phone run out of power often, but sometimes when I'm traveling for work or camping with scouts, it happens. So, before I sent my old phone back for the warranty swap, I let the new phone run out of power and then tried to plug it in. Same error!!
If anyone has this problem follow this trick. "connect the charger half to the charging port." that is it. works fine to me..
