How much moisture do you think it takes to short out an electrical circuit?
For water to have gotten in the case far enough to damage the battery, it would have ruined more than that.
Did the phone stay on after you dropped it? Then no, it's not your battery.
Have you tried just letting the phone sit, off, and dry out, before trying it again?

Hi thanks 4 ur reply yes the phone stayed on after it was working fine till I put the charging in it. It would not charge the battery.
Just let it sit out over night...take the back cover off and battery out and just let it sit around...or if you have a blow dryer you can try that but dont put it to close

Good advice, but I'll just amend it to say ... ONLY when the battery is OUT. In fact, be sure to give it a few minutes after trying that before booting it back up. And, only point it at the back cover, it could easily have negative effects on the screen.
Hi appreciate the help everyone yeah I left battery out last night it still won't charge this morning, I am using the usb to adapter that came with the phone 2 charge it. This happen once with my HTC 8125 & I had to get a original charger to bring the phone back to life no charger will charge it but the original after u can use anyone, I will update u later and c how that worked out.
Hi guys on found this online on ppctechs.com it says "In some cases, your HTC Touch Pro 2 will not charge from an AC/DC adapter or other charging accessory when the battery life is below 30 percent."
Are you trying to charge from a USB port or an AC adapter?
Maybe the USB port is bad.
Do you have another charger to try?

Hi I try usb to adapter that came with the phone 3 different wall chargers and still not charging, last 2 try is a car charger don't have one and there is 1 ft of snow outside
Hi I ordered a new battery & a battery wall charger off ebay when I get it I will update u on how things when.
Hi I got the wall charger battery is fine I think I have a faulty usb port cuz the phone still won't charge or connect via usb can it be u need software to charge
have the same issue (didnt drop it in snow though) it won't charge via usb or car charger.
So you got a new battery and still won't charge via USB?
Mine connects to my pc fine, just doesn't charge. Ordered a new mugen power 1800mah battery, waiting for it to get here to see if its a battery problem.
yeah still don't charge plus it is in a bootloader loop think it is a hardware problem with the usb port
I know that, for example, the iPhone has about 4 moisture sensors, one inside the USB connector port, one in the headphone jack, and 2 inside the phone, the last 2 will trigger things like reboots or even blocking the charge. Put the phone in silica gel or, more convenient, a bag with dry rice (that's how I've saved my old lg vu) for couple of days...

Have you tried plugging it into the mains (wall) charger and let it sit for a while?
That fixed my bootloader loop, turns out the battery was too weak to power the device on that it went to bootloader. I Just plugged it into the wall charger and ignored it, came back and it was working fine and charging.
But it won't charge via usb or car charger
I had the same loop problem but mine never recovered. Never dropped it in anything wet either. I let it die once and could never get it to turn all the way back on because it would just try to boot and then shut off again over and over. Had to send it back for a new phone. If its new enough and there is no water damage marks then I would send it back for a new one.
Hi everyone phone is fix now it was a bad usb port that was causing the bootloader loop so protected your usb port.
I have a problem with my USB port too. Nope, no snow. Just realized one day why my internet kept getting disconnected. It's because the USB connection was the problem. Jiggling it around gets the orange (or green when battery is full) light to come on and computer will recognize it... or it starts charging from wall charger. I think the phone's USB connection is bad. Is this a common problem with this phone?

It seems to be yes, I've seen quite a number of people who've had this type of problem on the Rhodium end up finding out it was a bad USB port on the phone...I think HTC just might have used ones that weren't nearly sturdy enough.
USB Port of Kaiser TYTN II very sensitive to moisture
I have the same issue described here, with 2 different HTC Kaisers : (
Hi guys, I have a Tilt2 with the EnergyROM...
My phone recently started acting up, and wont charge the battery when plugged in (oem HTC charger)
The orange light turns on, and phone says charging but battery level doesnt change, in fact it drains as usual. Yet sometimes if I leave the phone plugged in it will start charging?
I also get the current charge isnt enough switch to AC charger or close applications error sometimes when plugged with the AC charger...
I'm leaning towards a bad battery but wanted to see if anyone had this problem before?
Thanks in advance!
That sounds like a charger problem. try a different one.
thanks for the response...i tried a charger that had the usb plug to it, i tried a charger with a usb end on it, and two car chargers and i get the same effect...i did hard resets and even installed a new ROM to see if it would help. but no luck

I recall reading about someone who had this issue with one (but not all) of their el-cheapo MonoPrice chargers. Maybe a grounding issue with the charger cable (beyond the grounding issue the phone had universally until 2.2 update). So, questions for you...
Have you tried more than one charger, and if so, does the phone behave this way on them all? If not, are you using a MonoPrice charger by any chance?
yep - are you using the OEM charger and cable? Mine works fine with I use the HTC charger, but not when I use another microusb charger I have.

Never thought off that, I'm traveling and had to get a cheap charger...when I get home I'll use my oem and see what happens, thanks guys...
Welp
My 2 cents ... I am on my 3rd incredible and have found all 3 do get slower while charging, and I guess you might say 'unresponsive' but 'delayed response intermittently' might be a better phrasing. I suspect that part of the issue is that the battery/phone gets warmer while the charging is going on, and if it gets to a heat issue, the phone may start clocking down a bit.
as it`s said in the title, my touchscreen in Xperia Arc S is getting crazy during USB connecting. sometimes it just doesn`t work, sometimes behaves like I`ve putted two fingers on it, but I`m holding only one finger, sometimes just some area on screen works and some not. is there any way to fix that? i`ve got bootloader locked, so i can`t get root. I found this problem in every bulid I`ve tried.
I think this is a charger or Voltage or usb-cable's problem. you can change a usb-cable to try it again.

but if I`m putting my USB cable to a wall socket`s charget it`s ok, only during PC-USB charging this problem is appearing
and BTW I`ve not got any spare cable to try it. will try it tomorrow with my mom`s, dad`s and sister`s cables and let know is that ok or not
edit: I`ve tried with another USB cable and still got this problem. normal charging is ok but PC-USB charging causing problem.
HI, I have the same problem on arc S. Is there any solution yet?

If this problem happening only when phone is connected to pc and sd card mounted then I guess its app2sd bug something.
If only in charge mode then you cable is maybe "old"

I'm guessing it's internal current leak. There's nothing you can do about it, other than getting another phone.
Its probably because your laptop/computer has an "unearthed plug" (a plug with only two pins) whereas, your phone charger has earthed plug (3 pin plug).
The 3rd pin is to push out the excess current/voltage from your device to the ground and that is the reason you dont experience multiple-touches when you connect your charger directly to sockets. Simple as that.
Or because of capacitive touch screen nature reaction on different voltage ?
0-87809
ya it happens only through the power supply and voltages problem..
it happens many times often...
i noticed that problem in indian trains..that when i did charging in train.it happens
and sometimes the battery also gets severly damaged through it..
so BEWARE..!!
I found the best solution ever....... just sold my Xperia and bought HTC Sensation
but for other people, I just had pre-beta version of Windows 8, which has a looooooooooooooooooooooooot of bugs, I reinstalled Windows 7 and all problems gone. And ether USB devices was getting crazy as well, so that must be something with USB port, not phone.
Howdy guys,
I found that there was a small amount of "noise" on the 5v line comming from my charger. and that was causing the touchscreen to fritz.
i tested using my osciliscope.
you'll prob find that the 5v line from you laptop is dirty. and the arcs internals cant filter it out. i dont know if prolonged use can cause dammage tho but i would advise against it.
so charge it from a stable source.
Pvy.
The same problem happens only when I connect my phone via HDMI to a TV! And it's annoying!
i have the same Problem too if i charge my LT15i with the Charger from a HTC Wildfire. At First i thought it has something to do with CM7 but now , on Arconium its still the same.
Fortunately my phone charges normal on the USB Port of my PC in the Company
I would say that if you get this problem using the original charger in any wall socket, try another charger if possible otherwise have both your phone and charger examined at a repair center.
If you get this problem charging via USB from a laptop or connecting via HDMI to a TV, check if the same problem appears during charging through a wall socket.
Basically you will have to check if the grounding problem is located in the charger, phone or other devices like a laptop or TV.

Hi, do you work at SE?
And I tried now and I also have this problem when conected to TV. So my problem is connecting to TV and to PC, but not when charging over wall socket.

Yes I work at SE.
In that case it seems that something changes the ground in your TV and PC.
Do you have any problems when the phone is not connected to anything?
Because if it works properly when connected to the charger via wall socket I don't think it's a problem with the phone or charger.
You could try to disconnect some other equipment from the TV when you connect your phone to see if this might be caused by some other equipment like antenna cable, sattelite dish, DVD or Blueray players etc.
hi my good friends

yeah i did that but still nothing
the battery drop sounds like a clibration problem - coupled with a possibly loose usb port? Had usb charging problems once but got it sorted out by trying to plug the usb cable into the port from "different angles" (carefully!)

You need this tool to find out which one is at fault:
http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_fro...&_nkw=usb+current+and+voltage+tester&_sacat=0
Swap one by one: charger, USB cable, USB port until you find the problem. Make sure to use known working charger, cable for testing. USB port flex cable is not expensive, just around $5 to $9 on Ebay.
You should have ~ 5-->5.2 Volts, 1.5 -->1.7 Amps when charging. Anything lower than these readings, you have a problem with charger or cable or USB port.
You have to use elimination method to find out the problem as there are many unknown factors when battery is not charging.
