Anyone flashed I9000DTJG4 yet?
Is it an updated Optus rom?
I will let you know in 1 hour time.
I am grabbing the files as I type. I9000DTJG4
It is Optus crap on it. I have just finish flashing it. LOL
Running Quadrant right now as I type.. On fresh flash firmware I9000DTJG4
Drum rolls.... score 896. Which is the same as my previously stock JF3 Optus firmware.
Boo.. what a waste of excitement.
There is a task manager. Ram is 248mb / 326mb shown in the summary.
So I9000DTJG4 is an updated OPTUS firmware with Task Manager.
Have you run a test on the GPS to see if their is any issues with this as some have indicated?
Any other changes other then the Task Manager.?
Installing I9000BUJG2 to test out
So jm2 is better than the jg4 ?...
Unless you really want the Optus browser links
Installed BUJG2, it's faster than I expected, IO performance is really good.
It's Vodafone France I believe.
Lot's of bloatware but I got a 900 Quadrant score, imagine if I had removed this bloatware .
Going to test JM5 now.
Oooh Optus JG4.
Does it have a new Optus My Account widget that actually works?
JM5 is slightly faster the BUJG2, quadrant score is 915. I am keeping JM5 as I can't be bothered with bloatware.
A question but the JM5 is vodafone, too??

JM5 is European.
Appears to have some Russian specific Applications.
In another thread flashing the following seems to provide a good mix of files
Pit 512
Code JM5 (from the JM5 FW)
Modem JM3 (from the JM5 FW)
CSC JM1 (from the JM2 FW)
Optus My Account widget plz "of course if its work"

The file from Samsung Firmware Web only has a single file in it.
ADD_OPS.tar
Inside the tar file we have 6 files namely
dbdata.rfs
factoryfs.rfs
modem.bin
param.lfs
zImage
cache.rfs
When flashing this tar file which line do we use in Odin:
PDA
Phone
CSC
I put the file in pda
As usual it was fast during the first hours and then I installed several and my mail and it's super slow now.
I will do the ext4 fix
The bug I had before jm2 is back knowing that I can't read my mail hotmail

Have you tried forwarding the mail to see if it becomes readable. Seemed to work for me but not really a solution. Forward but not send. It displays the email to be forwarded.
I'm going to download this as a keepsake for when my phone needs repairs I'm very happy with JM5 + Samset 1.9b
At the official Samsung Servis in my country, they are already installing the official Froyo software version:
i9000XXJPH
P.S. By Servis I mean Official Repair Shop, not Internet server.
I also do not have it on my own phone but the friend who was today at Samsung because he wanted to get an upgrade for better 2.1, got 2.2 XXJPH since they got it just today. I asked him for a screenshoot and when I will get it, I will publish it here. I also called to the Samsung Slovenia and they confirmed to me that they do have 2.2 version.
And I am not from Slovakia (as I can read in some posts) but from Slovenia. Learn geography.

MOST PEOPLE IN THIS THREAD ARE USING THE INTERNATIONAL VERSION OF THE GALAXY S. PLEASE CHECK IF YOUR VARIANT HAS BEEN TESTED AND FOUND WORKING BEFORE TRYING !

Flashing (original)
How I did it:
- Optional: Remove lagfixes. CFLagFix does not need to be removed before flashing, unsure about other lagfixes.
- Go into recovery and wipe data and cache, the flash doesn't do this
- Open Odin
- Put the phone in download mode and connect USB
- In Odin, select 803.pit, and ADD_P_U.tar as PDA. (I didn't do repartition coming from JM2, your mileage may vary)
- Flash
NOTE: Not everybody is able to flash right. If the above doesn't work for you, read the rest of this thread. You can try flashing JPC first, this helps for some.

Please take a note of your APN settings. This ROM doesn't setup the APN for most users!

It would fit the timetable originally planned, but somehow I don't believe it. The post seems too thin for such a momentous announcement.
If there is more to this, then I'm happy, but for now I'm not buying it...
ZOMG!!!!!! Hope this is true.
Make a dump of your rom please.
Also give us more details.
Can someone just check on the servers? I thought we have people who can access them directly...
The date seems to be the september 23d for official version by official way.
it is possible the rom is yet on servers
i hope so
super excited!!
i will hold out lol...remember JPC
Never forget the issues JPC brought for some (KOR anyone?)
i really hope samsung isnt about to throw in a mega disappointment with their stock froyo release! the anxiety, the wait time, the expectations....all be better justified!!!
better or fixed file system, froyo speed and memory improvements better be there in the final release!!! if the fs is not fixed, they better release the sources immediately so that supercurio can atleast build us a voodoo fix
Well, I never had the KOR problem with JPC, I installed it via Kies and never had a problem with it so far. Only problem is that I can't update the regular way now because Kies claims it can't update from JPC of course...^^

Firmware info from Check Fus
Modified: 11/01/14
Latest firmware for: THL
PDA: P1000DXKM2
Phone: P1000DXJM2
CSC: P1000OLBJM2
Decrypt Code: 3899029
Url: http://fus.samsungmobile.com/Phone_...00OLBJM3_P1000DXJM3_P1000DXKM3_DX_THL.zip.enc
still 2.2
kernel 2.6.32.9 [email protected]#1
my tab was All Signed. I can flash JME to This firmware. No need to wipe. Odin 1.7 flashed only PDA and Manually reboot with Power+up.
it's smooth so far.
Is this for general Asia Pacific region or only for Thailand?
What's the decryption code for the enc file?
I am currently using DXJM4 version, but go through Kies, no updates available. Very weired.
it's asia version not only thailand , it think euro can use it as well because mine can use euro firmware version.
decrypt code, you can see above. try to look at it again.
anyway after I use Odin to flash,it can't update via kies anymore. normally kies firmware will roll up after fus in a few day or longer.
We need Roto to makes his version of this...im sure he will soon.
Are this Rom a multi, pls ?

IF YOUR BOOT IS STILL UNSIGNED , DO NOT FLASH SBL AND BOOT FROM THIS ROM.
It is very solid build. very smooth and browser seems to be smoother, scrolls better even when pages are still loading.
No extra apps.
Unlike KA build , kernel is signed so it can loaded if u have signed bootloader (jm*)
Very few locales, just english uk, english na and some asian.
You can repack it without sbl and boot files and flash on the top of the signed roms.

I'd like to. I have family events to attend to tomorrow, but if someone would post an unencoded firmware for download, Ill grab it and apply all the JME mods to it. In the meantime, feed back on KM2's quality is valuable. I'd hate to waste time on it just to go back to JME

Guys...I just downloaded JMF and unless you can understand Russian - You cannot get back.
The moment the phone boots, it's all Russian (or greek, or something!)
I was listed under the EURO rom, i DOwnloaded and Odin it..... but I cannot get the language to go English.
I tried to go to Locale to change it to English - but Have no idea where I am.
I tried to flash JME back, but the tab still boots up in Russian.
How can I get it back to JME?
Out of frustration I flashed the JME pit file, but not difference, still Russian.
I'm stuck
Someone have any idea?....LOL
Thanks
Don't flash KM2 either.
KM2 only includes english (UK, US), Bahasa (Indonesia, Malaysia) Ting Viet and other asian locales
Font seems to be a bit thinner - looks good!
browser still laggy with blank pages after a second site is opened
Readers Hub is back
still no 2.2.1 or even 2.3...
Build number: FROYO.DXKM2
Dennis
Sorry Guys.....

Man I feel like an IDioT.......DUH!
I got so excited and panicked when I noticed this STRANGE language on my TAB. I did Managed to fix the language in Local & Text, top option and scrolled down to English!

one more thing,I don't know where to upload 3xxMB decrypted firmware , it's too big and my upload is just only 512kbps.
and I think decrypt and unzip,it's less than 5 minutes for me. or someone can help for this.
anyway, you should wait for .apk unprotect signed from roto/chainfire and flash other firmware that isn't signed.

Thanks, I will sure to download and upgrade my current DXJM4.
I downloaded firmware and it's .ecn. I can't rename file type to .zip. What can I do with it?
Samfirmware.com has this version without encrypted code.
Anyway, how could we flash this firmware without boot.bin, Sbl.bin, zImage.
As long as Roto puts his hand on this firmware. I wont dare to flash to my GT.
FYI

Why is everyone depending on Rotohammer? Open it up with 7zip or similar, delete the offending stuff (sbl, boot, zImage) ...whatever and then flash it. Simple.

I have spent a few hours reading the forums and getting understand things, but one never knows if one really understand things until one summarizes it themselves and asks others to confirm it. So, my situation and summary are below. Do I understand???
I live in South Korea and got the MB525. I like it very much, but I have SK Mobile. The last straw came when they installed even more stuff on my phone (like Korean social network programmes) without my permission, using some form of auto-update even though I had that disabled, and now will not even let me turn off auto update on those programmes. Also had a problem on a trip to Malaysia where the Korean emergency number (119) was the customer service number for Maxis - hence calling customer service got me the fire department!! I am just tired of having so many junk programmes on my phone and not having real control over the phone.
The phone runs 2.1-update1 and I would like to instal a generic version of 2.2 or 2.3 (that is cy7, an unofficial version of 2.3 right). I would like a version that is not country specific, but in English. By doing all this I hope to be able to have complete control over my phone, not have troubles using it internationally (sim is already unlocked but things like emergency numbers being programmed in), and be able to install and uninstall any programmes. I hope that by doing this SK Mobile will not be able to install any of their own software and that I can uninstall anything I do not like. I do not think I need moto-blur (do I???), so a version without that is better, I think.
While new to phone technology, I am good with computers and have my own web site, so I think I have the ability to do the upgrade per the 'All in one Defy Beginners guide' (Serious thanks for that). I'm sure I can figure out how to flash it properly, so no worries there.
My first question is what version/package would others recommend so that I have an English version that works internationally / meets my requirements. My second question is do I understand thing right above and am I on track, and my third question is what am I not thinking of?
Thanks a lot, and sorry for such a long post but too much is new all at once.
TME
haha... yes CM7.1/MIUI or pretty much the other roms wont give you any trouble using it internationally, and yes if you install cm7.1 they(SK mobile) wont be able to 'update' your phone... and yes just follow the guides carefully and your good to go... Good Luck
Since your phone is for SK, then I'm sure that most of the ROMs in here won't have no problem with your Defy.
I suggest CM7 for the function, and MIUI for the theme lovers.
DeBlur is absolutely, since that function just make troubles instead of goodies. Emergency Calling ? Um... not tried editting yet.
OK, thanks for the help above
But, next question. My phone runs 2.1 - update 1, but is I think Eclair version. I bought it in Dec, 2010. I have decided my first step is to upgrade to 2.2 and see how that goes.
But from the how to guide the bit below is very confusing:
CG Version 2: SBF 2.21 / 2.34 / Chinese (Éclair)
CG Version 3: SBF 2.51 (Éclair)
CG Version 4: SBF 3.4.2 (Froyo)
CG Version 5: SBF 4.5.0 / 4.5.1 (Gingerbread)
How do I relate version numbers listed on my phone (2.1) to the list above? I assume I want 3.4.2 but how can I understand version numbers so i do not make a mistake?
As my goal is to upgrade to a version that I can downgrade to 2.1 if needed for warranty reasons, I need a fixed SBF for Froyo. Can anyone give me a specific link to such a SBF version?
Thanks and sorry for all the questions. The learning curve is a bit steep.

Why don't you upgrade from official site.....
can you provide link to the guide you mentioned...
Root your phone (using superoneclick), install 2nd init, after that just flash CM7.1, no need to worry about sbf for CM7, although there is a recommended base ROM, im using it just fine flashing it over my original rom... dont know about others though...

I know how to do that with bada 2, but not with 1.2.

I don't have much experience with Bada 1.2, but check the RSRC1 file (and the language setting file in CSC, of course). You'll find everything you need in there. For RTL languages though, I don't know.

Wave Remaker opens and writes those (Bada 1.2 RC1 and CSC), too, but I'm not sure wether these (edited RC1 and CSC) are ok to flash. I have never tried (flashing) myself, and I suggest you ask forum member xsycox for more info on that. He's the one with the most experience in doing Bada 1.2 CFWs. I also had a look over his CFW files in the past, and it doesn't look like his RC1 is edited, but the CSC seems to be.
EDIT:
If you want a starting point, here it is:
I have done some Bada 1.2 modifications myself in the past, but never tested it due to an unfortunate experiment (that shouldn't have gone wrong at all) in the recent past and most probably never will. I'm scared of Bada 1.2 now. See here, read and understand the whole post. DON'T JUST FLASH THIS HOPING IT WILL BE OK. Download link is here. There are some modifications for more input languages in the CSC files in there and the RC1 contains tons of files for tons of languages (also in the standard RC1, btw). This is how I think (=not know) how it is done. I have no experience in editing Bada 1.2, of course.
Compare using WinMerge with xsycox' Bada 1.2 based CFW and you'll get an idea.
In any case let us know what you found out!
