Hi!
I have the problem, that my HTC P3300 switches off, from self, alone.
Or it crashes since i do settings in tomtom or other programs.
I had the PDA 2 times !!! at my nearest service partner. And they means that the PDA is OK.
Now i have the newest software on the pda, I tried 2 different storagecards, but the problem is not solved.
So what can i do?
When the PDA crashes or switches off alone at standby, i had to give out the battery a few seconds. ONLY after that it´s possible to switch ON the PDA.
can anyone help me?
Flash it with a new rom ?
I had similar probs a while back. Cant remember which rom i had installed. But i have flashed back to vanilla and no issues since.
The cause could be a bad flash....
Hi, thanks for answering.
Where can i download other/older ROMS for the Artemis?
Just to let you know - you are not alone. My P3300 is switching itself off all the time. I tried to re-flash with the same rom, did not help (did not try older ones). But I suspect it is really a hardware issue - because it switches of more often in a hot environment.
Hi!
Oh, that´s nice, that i am not alone ;-)
I am sad that my HTC Service Point means my HTC is OK?!?!
Yesterday i tried an other SIM Card, from an other Mobilephone Provider.
Now the HTC is running since 16 hours without self switch off.
I am inquiring how long this runs OK.
But i also think its a hardware issue.
add me to the list. same phone, same issues. HELP!
Hi!
The last days i tested my phone.
Firs with an other SIM Card, and no Storagecard,.
Then without SIM Card, only with a storagecard
Since yesterday i had an other SIM AND the storagecard on board.
As yet no crash.
Tomorrow i would put my main SIM Card AND my main Storagecard in the HTC.
We´ll see what´s going on...
Very strange...
A suggestion - let us compare the versions of the roms we have. I had this:
Artemis_Touch_4.02_Full_with_4_sided_cube.zip
(I am currently testing with original rom to see if it solves something)
i had the latest ROM from the HTC Homepage
I had the latest dutch version (original) wm6 from the t-mobile website and now the english version (wm6) from the artemis wiki page.
I've noticed that today it crashed only 2 times (before +8). lets see what happens ...
Since the last 3 days my HTC won´t switched off itself.
BUT, when i play as sample with WLAN Settings, or with the "transcribe" settings, the HTC crashed. Black Display, no chance to restart.
After, press softreset, and put out the battery the HTC starts again.
I played again with WLAN Settings an nothings happens, the HTC runs.
It´s very strange, because my HTC runs over 1 Year perfectly.
And now i have such troubles. The question is why...
I also wrote to the HTC support, on the HTC Support page in the internet, but i become NO ANSWER!!!
I think i´d like to buy a Nokia Mobile Phone.
today my phone proved me wrong. it kept crashing and crashing. tomorrow ill go over to the t-mobile store and see what they have to say...
thorx, how is it going over there?
edit/update: i reflashed once more, this time without the storage card in (dunno if it matters) and another sim card. So far (1 hour) i had no crash. ill keep posting with updates.
Hi!
My HTC does NOT crashed the last days itself.
But it crashed often when i change some settings.
As sample: changes in the WLAN Settings, changes in the transcribe setting, and so on.
It´s not really comprehensible.
No one could help... -(
i gave it to t-mobile today. 10 days to get it fixed, im in waranty so its ok
I have the same problem with my Artemis. 2 weeks ago I've put new ROM (Original HTC WM6.0) and the problem occurred so I think maybe solution is downgrade to WM5. This week I'll check it.
One (maybe unrelated question) - do you have iGO 8 installed? My phone problems started after installing it.
Duplicate post
I do not think that it´s a softwareproblem.
My HTC runs over 1 Year with WinMobile 5.
From one day to the other, i have this curious error.
Then i gave it to my servicepartner. They installed me the newest SW, with WinMobile 6.
The problem isn´t solved.
Now i give my HTC third time to my service partner. :-(
The HTC Support doesn´t respond my emails. :-((
Perhaps i only could sell my phone as damaged on ebay...
My Orbit switched its self off randomly when it was in my pocket so I didn't know it was off! It was completely random and started happening when it was around 8 months old.
My solution was to cut up a credit card and use a strip of that to wedge in between the battery and housing. Previously I noticed the battery was a little loose and this solution has worked so far 5 months down the line it hasn't switched off since...
So, now my problem is solved.
I sended my HTC 3 times to my service partner.
After the third repair attempt, i become a replacement device.
They changed the hole pda, only the HTC case is my old one.
Now my HTC runs perfectly without errors.
Hi all,
First post so please be gentle
Picked up a used Desire a while back to replace the one I lost. Everything works fine on it except Bluetooth - it can neither find nor be discovered, despite Android reporting that the handset is searching or discoverable.
Unfortunately, I'm no expert on phone hardware troubleshooting (a PC would be no problem) - I have aLogCat installed but I'm not sure what processes I should be looking out for! The problem has persisted after rooting so I assume there's no issue with permissions.
I'm guessing this is probably a hardware issue, and will have to go back for a waranty repair (I got six months warranty even though it's used), but I thought I should check with the experts first.
Edit: stock eclair ROM, btw.
Any thoughts?
Thanks,
S.
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
Hey there!
I own the Desire HD for two weeks now and got some problems with it. At first it takes ages when it checks the sim-card after I turned it on. The second point is, if I don't have any signal and the sim-card couldn't get recognized, I gotta turn it off and on again (and if I'm lucky it's working after it).
I guess it's a software bug but I'm not sure.
Is the problem already known? Are there any sulutions?
Hope you can help me! Thank you.
No it's not a known problem. Can you test with another sim to verify it's not the card itself which is at issue?
If it's not that I would return it.
Sent from my performance enhanced Desire HD.
SYMPTOM: can't see any mobile networks
BACKGROUND: I've been using htc one x for a month now. Initially on three, but their signal was unusable at home, so sim-unlocked and switched a couple of weeks ago to giffgaff ( a virtual network on top of the UK o2 network).
All has been fine, until today. I sent a few texts & calls in the morning, and mobile data was working. Since then, I can't see any mobile network.
wifi is fine.
Search Networks pops up "Error while searching for networks" and finds none.
No software changes of any sort since last successful call. No changes at all today, at least until I tried to diagnose the problem.
Running stock rom, with the WW update of a couple of weeks ago (1.28.771.9.CL56522 release-keys) -- neither S-OFF nor unlocked bootloader.
Nothing obvious to me in the normal or radio logcat logs.
The only thing I did after the last successful call was to run sensorly to try and map a trip. I've used this before without any problems. It got no connection but I thought nothing of that. I've since uninstalled it just in case it could somehow be interfering with the radio.
THINGS I'VE TRIED:
No, the airplane mode isn't on, and mobile is. I've toggled airplane from settings and power switch, many times
recreated the APN
checked other phones - yes there are a number of networks visible
tried the original o2 sim - same problem
safe mode
cold boot
reboot, reboot, reboot
obviously I haven't pulled the battery...
turned off wifi, in case it was somehow interfering
HTC diagnostic tool
factory reset
confirmed imei is not blocked
Any ideas? Bearing in mind that I'm looking for something which can happen spontaneously.
Interestingly, while writing this I've just noticed that Baseband version shows as Unknown. That worries me - is it possible that my radio partition has spontaneously corrupted itself?
I did speak to 02 support - they said to take it into a shop for warranty repair. I don't want to try a custom ROM just yet -- not when I might have to use the warranty. But is there any way to force it to reinstall the stock rom (preferably not involving windows)?
I have the same problem as well and flashing custom roms did not solve it for me. But for me even the IMEI number is shown as UNKNOWN...I haven't done anything special to get this issue, one day when I woke up the phone could not connect to any network.
I have tried a lot of different methods but with no success. I don't think we can do anything about the baseband without S-OFF.
If a hard reset fails, then it's time to think about returning the unit. Either get a refund or get it replaced.
This may be irrelevant; but I've had this happen to me on my GNexus. I solved it by going back to stock and it just fixed itself overnight.....
my HTC One X did the same after about 2 weeks. Gave it back to supplier, waiting my replacement.
Even tested with a different SIM card, did a hard reset. Problem stayed the same.
Im curious did any of you find a resolution to this? it happened to me a while ago but yet to fing a solution. HTC refuse to fix under warranty because it is unlocked.. i am currently waiting for the next official update to see if that fixes anything but the way things are looking that could be a while..

It sounds like a fault, probably the radio chip has just stopped working, no software is going to repair that. If it was a software problem, there would be hundreds or thousands of people all having the same issue.

Hello,
My brother is having a very weird problem with his HTC One M8. He is using a Verizon phone on a T-Mobile network, and I believe he has Android Marshmallow. Things have worked fine for some time, but for the past two weeks his cell signal usually flickers on and off every 1-3 seconds. Occasionally it will work as normal, usually after he makes a call, but generally speaking he cannot receive text messages or phone calls/voice mail until it stabilizes, which causes him to have to wait sometimes 5 or more hours before getting his messages. Location seems to have no effect on the quality of his signal. He's taken it in to T-Mobile and they gave him a new SIM card, but that didn't help. I helped him use HTC Sync Manager's software repair tool to see if that would fix anything, it didn't. We are trying to avoid a factory reset, but will probably be doing that soon. Has anyone heard of this problem or have any ideas on how to fix it? Buying a new phone is last resort.
Thanks!
