If anyone can help me that would be great.
I have a Diamond running a custom rom which at the moment is running titanium just for speed really.
I have had a look for an application that can give me a simple update on the news and is fitted well into the UI. I have looked at 'pointsense' but i dont think it can do what i want ?
To explain better i want something similar to what can be done with android where they add widgets that give news feeds, a simple swipe across the screen and there is a page of current always updating news. I dont mind using UI changing program. I have also tried Manilla and tried to get this set up somehow but so far with no luck.
Thanks again, any solution is a good solution for me.
Hey, I think the SPB mobile shell could be a nice application for you. the new version runs really stable and fast!

Hi upon hearing (and hoping) 2.2 in 3 days, I've decided to stick with sense.
I have a few niggles, and I was hoping you guys could help.
1. Push. can I get push twitter and facebook notifications through the widget? is there a secret setting?
2. Speed. I don't expect sense to be as fast as stock android, but are there any tips to ease the pain.
3. Other tips?
thanks in advance
I'm pretty sure the 2.2 update will also be Sense.

How did that answer his question in the slightest?

OP seems to be suggesting in his first sentence that Froyo will relieve him of his frustrations with Sense.
To answers the questions:
1. The widget updates as frequently as the main application updates. As such, you can't get push Twitter updates. The most frequent updating schedule would be every 5 minutes. Not sure for Facebook since I don't use it, but I would expect it to be the same.
If you want to have your Twitter feeds pushed to you, why not set it to send to your phone as SMS? (Btw, higher update frequencies will ruin your battery life)
2. You'll need to be more specific. Which part of UI is slow in your opinion?
3. If you're fed up with Sense, just use an alternate launcher. LauncherPro is pretty good. Only reason I don't use it is because I don't want to lose my HTC widgets.
Sense isn't slow at all, especially if you're using a Desire. Maybe if you had a MyTouch or something it might be.
Pretty sure Sense in 2.2 isn't gonna be too different from how it is in 2.1 so if you hate it in 2.1 you'll probably hate it in 2.2.
Thanks, about the notifications thing, I removed some junk (stocks, teeter) and it feels much more fresh now. Thanks.
Well im currenting trying to get off the sense.
but i just cant live without having to sync my contacts with facebook, and i just hate having the vanilla messaging. its horrible to me,and im guessing i need the dial for the contacts.
so please anyone for a christmas, make someone happy=]
im currently trying to go to frost 3.1.1 i know its an older rom,
but it gave me amazing battery life so please can you guys send me the .zip file so i can just flash it over the rom=D
have a Merry Christmas
You can't use Sense applications or widgets without using Sense to my knowledge (I know widgets for a fact, and I'm fairly certain about the applications as well). Sorry

Hello, I have the SGS2 but my friend doesn't! He's got a Dell Streak. I was just wondering if there was a way to get the APK for the program monitor / active applications widget? He really liked it. It looks a lot better than a lot of the other apps on the market. I'm not rooted or anything, I like it stock. Is there a way to get it? Or can anyone else upload it? Or do you know where I could DL it?
Thanks a bunch
Program Monitor is a TouchWiz widget, so it will only work on a device using the TW launcher.
His options would be to either use a substitute app (I recommend Active Apps) or try and use the TW 4.5 Launcher.
+1, Active apps is great.

Good morning,
New boy alert!
I installed the OxyZM 1.2 ICS ROM yesterday. First attempt at rooting any phone. Have to say I am very glad I did. The ROM is fantastic and very fast. But, I have a problem. I'm not sure if it is something I have done but I need a little help please.
Basically, I cannot re-arrange my apps, cant move them from screen to screen or move them drop them on a screen from the drawer. It's worth noting I could at first (hence why I think it may be something I did). Also, a long press on my screen no longer brings up the option to add a widget etc.
Any help would be very appreciated.
Thanks,
Tony.
Strange, try to install different launcher and see if that works. (Go Launcher EX for example)
Thank you,
Would you recommend this?:

Never used it so cant really recommend.
OK, thanks anyway.
I installed it and I was indeed able to move my apps again. Out of curiosity I wiped the Halo Launcher data and my apps could be re-arranged again!
With the holo launcher, go to playstore and update it coz i think the 1 in that rom is older. (i think) lol

Yeah when I installed the ROM a splash screen asked if I wanted to download the update from the Play Store so I think I'm up to date.
Thanks for your help mate.
