This is a collection of quick and simple bootanimations pulled together with the goals of being extremely lightweight, relatively good looking, and not slow down the booting of the phone substantially. They're all based roughly off OS X resources. I did some tests, on a CM6 nightly (08 04 2010), and the results are seen below.

Pear(based on this guy's wonderful work. If anyone could make me a bootsplash image of this, I would love them forever. Can't do it on a mac.)
31 on bootsplash
finishes boot at 1 minute, 12 seconds.

Spinner:
31 seconds on bootsplash
finishes boot at 1 minute, 15 seconds.
Spinning Beachball of Death:
43 seconds on bootsplash
1.25 to full boot
For comparison: CyanogenMod6 default
40 seconds on bootsplash
finishes boot at 1 minute, 38 seconds.
YMMV. They weigh in between 8kb and 40kb. Hope you like them. Also, I love you too.
Nice. I like.

authors note:
I created this because I wanted a "real uptime" counter for PPC.
All other tools I have tried does not show how long the PPC has been on, they only show how long time it has been "active" (i.e. not in standby mode).
It has been changed to also keep track of longest uptime and the number of hard and soft resets.
It displays:
- Current uptime
- Average uptime
- Longest uptime
- Processing time
- Idle time
- The number of hard resets
- The number of soft resets.
It also maintains a bootlog where you can enter a description/reason for each boot.
It keeps a backup of its data on the storage card, and will not loose any data if the device is hard reset.
It only runs for a very short time after each reboot (to update the datafiles) and does not run "in the background".
Tested on WM5 Phone edition and on 2003SE.

Nice App.. Thanks..
Hey there, I know you like fancy boot animation on your phones.
But are those animations forced to be bright as shining demons ?
For example, I really like the CyanogenMod boot animation, but all this bright light makes my battery decrease 10% (kidding, right ? )
So, ladies and gentlemen, please welcome this simple, elegant, and most of all battery friendly boot animation.
Its secret ? It's mostly BLACK. Which is good for our AMOLED screens.
And for those who boot their phones on early morning, it won't burn your eyes. True story.
Enough talking, just install it and see for yourself !
INSTALLATION GUIDE :
» Rename minimalBlack.zip to bootanimation.zip
» Copy bootanimation.zip to your sd card.
» Copy it into your /system/media/ folder.
» Set the file permissions to rw-r--r--
» Reboot when ready !
Check this amazing looping GIF as a preview :

Yeah, it has some weird artefacts but meh, it's a gif.

feel free to mirror it yourself
See how it works below.
I like it, but it won´t save you battery.
Atleast not if you restart your phone once every 100 hours or so..
Thanks

HyperColor in an LWP utilizing Fluid Dynamics algorithm.
Its fully configurable, there are 38 presets and 40 backgrounds, 16 particle types.
It allows you to create simple bokeh effect with your own color sheme, or some more complicated theme,
there are about 10 diffrent properties you can change, glow, viscosity, particle size etc..
One theme Lite version :
Stir it well and have fun!!.
rolled out new version yesterday
There is no free version and the link to the lite one goes to a page not found on the play store.
Both versions are free now, i mean, main version is lite version now, and you can upgrade it after installation, download additional presets etc...
Kinda looks like it's running at less than 30fps.. But otherwise pretty impressive.
Edit: scratch that.. It's running pretty smooth. Now I'm just waiting to see the impact on battery life

When you double tap it, it should freeze, so no simulation is computed, in this case battery usage is same as static wallpaper.

INTRODUCTION:-
Hello okes, so it's been a really long time since I have contributed to XDA. It's almost exams, but we have next week off before our first test, and I am already done studying so, I reckoned I could take the weekend off. - What better place to relax than on XDA! I then started wondering what I can do, I ain't got enough time for a good ROM, and I don't (at the moment) have the patience to work on a theme, so I needed something that I will mostly design, and decided to do a bit of designing.
I setup a light room in Cinema 4D and Maya. - I then went on something simple for now, it's just nice text and a high quality render, to be used as signatures.
There are 2 versions for now, a glow one ( looks more fun ) and a one with out glow ( looks more professional ). They are in 1080P. Please don't
use them at this size, I merely rendered them this big for someone who maybe has other uses for this, they still look great even if you resize them
( in proportion ) to like 384 x 216. Feel free to ask for more colors. ( Just remember rendering takes time. )
Also add some images of a N7 maybe, personalize it!
This thread also serves as a place where you can share your own signatures of the N7! - I'll put some good ones in the OP.

Ok so first of all maps are a bit off but that's not your fault I guess
Second of all, I tried running it for a couple of second and in case of hiking it just turned off after 5 seconds or so, and in case of both cycling and hiking I showed some crazy speed results. Screens attached.
OnePlus One 6.0 Marshmallow
Thank you for testing!
Your activities are too short. If the GPS-signal is too weak, your location can jump quicker than Light-Speed for some metres.
The speedunit you have in your results is "km/min"
you can change the speedunit by clicking in MainActivity on speed-TextView.
Later it will be posible to do that also in ResultActivity
If the Activity was automatically recognized it stops automatically too. In older version of RunApp it stopped sometimes by Hiking when the speed went under 2 km/h.
In latest version it should be better:
From now on RunApp pauses automatically recognized activities instead of stoping them directly and stops them if the user was still for 5 min. Hikong pauses now if the speed went under 1 km/h.
You can also test the new Background activity recognizer (option in settings):
