Ok so first of all maps are a bit off but that's not your fault I guess
Second of all, I tried running it for a couple of second and in case of hiking it just turned off after 5 seconds or so, and in case of both cycling and hiking I showed some crazy speed results. Screens attached.
OnePlus One 6.0 Marshmallow

Thank you for testing!
Your activities are too short. If the GPS-signal is too weak, your location can jump quicker than Light-Speed for some metres.
The speedunit you have in your results is "km/min"
you can change the speedunit by clicking in MainActivity on speed-TextView.
Later it will be posible to do that also in ResultActivity
If the Activity was automatically recognized it stops automatically too. In older version of RunApp it stopped sometimes by Hiking when the speed went under 2 km/h.
In latest version it should be better:
From now on RunApp pauses automatically recognized activities instead of stoping them directly and stops them if the user was still for 5 min. Hikong pauses now if the speed went under 1 km/h.
You can also test the new Background activity recognizer (option in settings):

authors note:
I created this because I wanted a "real uptime" counter for PPC.
All other tools I have tried does not show how long the PPC has been on, they only show how long time it has been "active" (i.e. not in standby mode).
It has been changed to also keep track of longest uptime and the number of hard and soft resets.
It displays:
- Current uptime
- Average uptime
- Longest uptime
- Processing time
- Idle time
- The number of hard resets
- The number of soft resets.
It also maintains a bootlog where you can enter a description/reason for each boot.
It keeps a backup of its data on the storage card, and will not loose any data if the device is hard reset.
It only runs for a very short time after each reboot (to update the datafiles) and does not run "in the background".
Tested on WM5 Phone edition and on 2003SE.

Hey I cannot quarrel with the man who brought Youtube embeds within 48 hours or initial request... (btw, am I the only one using it? ... wait, let me answer that: yes. But I like it, so thank you !)
That pair of "quick navigation to your phone" tools at top right has been really great. It's just that enroute to using the text box to type in "desire" I almost always rollover the dropdown which causes an obstruction to my desired objective.
You probably wrestled with this and have reasons for the way you did it. But just in the event you were really really smashed that night and really had no rationale whatsoever and just flipped a coin, are you open to trying to flip the two...
Another unsolicited usability comment in the spirit of improvement. The xda favicon is such a welcome change from the boring vBulletin v, but I find it hard to read.
Did you ever come across how they went about remaking the YouTube favicon to improve its readability? It sounded very esoteric by god it did the job... A reader submitted it -- and YouTube took her up on it, and adopted it:

About the drop down...in the forum redesign we're working on, you must click the drop down to get it to open.
About the fav icon...feel free to make one that is better than the current. All of us are quite pleased by the new icon. It's not perfect, but making a legible 16x16 graphic is very difficult.

[Q] Two bugs: SMS drafts when signature, and voltage

Stock ROM. Two bugs.
In legacy SMS app, I have set a message. Any time I exit a conversation with back button, app says it saved a draft. Need to exit by doing menu-discard. I had this bug also in the stock rom for my previous phone, HTC Sensation, 3 or 4 years ago (android 2) (fixed after changing rom). I am surprised this bug comes back after so long. Is there a fix ? When loading the draft again, it adds the signature a second time, then a third ...
Many apps and widgets show voltage of battery to be 3 or 4 mV. Few app give the correct value. After digging, the value in /sys is good (forgot the full path file name). An advanced app shows the correct value internally, and gives a button to access the android internal hidden menu of battery, and in there, the value is wrong. So, it looks like it's an android bug, and all apps which get it wrong are those asking kindly the value to Android (instead of going directly in /sys). Is there a fix ?
Ah, found the file:
Code:
cat /sys/devices/platform/htc_battery/power_supply/battery/batt_vol_now
4193
The following shots are from Android Tuner Free: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ccc71.at.free
3rd image says: you are going to reach a feature hidden by the manufacturer ... that could damage your phone. Use it at your own risks. => to me it's going to an internal android menu. A stock one.

M8S - Massive data dlownloads from Google Play Services

Hi guys,
I hope someone here can help me figure out a solution to this problem. It seems that every time I switch on my data (4G, 3G, etc.) Google Play Services suddenly kicks into overdrive and downloads an insane amount of data for no reason that I can figure out.
My first indication this was happening was when my mobile operator turned off my data a few days after getting the phone because I had already hit my monthly limit (3GB)! I switched off my data until my new bill arrived and when I turned it back on again on the 14th of this month, it started happening again. I went into settings and selected "restrict background data" and this stopped it, but my phone wasn't working as I expected it, as I'm sure you can imagine. Over the previous weekend, I was staying at a B&B. I turned on data for an hour and unselected "restrict background data" so I could use the phone like normal. I left the phone down for that hour doing nothing before I remembered I left data on (the horror!) and discovered it downloaded a further 300-odd MB's in that time.
I've attached some screens for you to look at. This is a new phone, but this behavior is totally alien to me. Can anyone help?

RESOLVED:
Called HTC Support and they were as surprised as anyone would be. They reluctantly decided that the best, even though the most primative, form of action here would be Factory Reset.
It worked, so I'm glad I have my phone working as it should now.
