Hey there, I know you like fancy boot animation on your phones.
But are those animations forced to be bright as shining demons ?
For example, I really like the CyanogenMod boot animation, but all this bright light makes my battery decrease 10% (kidding, right ? )
So, ladies and gentlemen, please welcome this simple, elegant, and most of all battery friendly boot animation.
Its secret ? It's mostly BLACK. Which is good for our AMOLED screens.
And for those who boot their phones on early morning, it won't burn your eyes. True story.
Enough talking, just install it and see for yourself !
INSTALLATION GUIDE :
» Rename minimalBlack.zip to bootanimation.zip
» Copy bootanimation.zip to your sd card.
» Copy it into your /system/media/ folder.
» Set the file permissions to rw-r--r--
» Reboot when ready !
Check this amazing looping GIF as a preview :

feel free to mirror it yourself
See how it works below.
I like it, but it won´t save you battery.
Atleast not if you restart your phone once every 100 hours or so..
Thanks

Hello and welcome the the little BootScreen section for the Thrive. Below you will find some of the first bootscreens I have made so far. If you got requests, please don't hesitate to post.
_____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Some specs:
Most of these will be landscape-oriented bootscreens
The Thrive supports an overall resolution of 1280x800
The true top limit of a stock-rom will be 24 frames per second during boot-up
Approximated # of supported images during boot ~120-170
Most of mine will be below 100 to keep the boot smooth
Audio is supported during boot on a rather limited basis

How did you get that "shutdown" menu? I am desperately missing the reboot option when pressing the power button?

Depends on your ROM.
Don't we all like the bootanimation for PA 2.x+ by molesarecoming... But when I saw it the first time I just like WTF?! Why did he make it white first and then the android fading in instead of the android just fading in...
So I desided to make a almost exact copy but with no whites and just an fading android so it looks smooth and cool.
Hope you like it!

I think the white thing is cool like when you turn on the light and everything become white because you don't have the habit of the light anymore

Hi. Do you have a version of this boot animation without the text below the PA logo? I'd love to use it as a custom boot animation with a different rom Thanks.
Sorry no :/ and I don't have time to make a new one right now.
I have made 4 boot animations using gifs from Surrogate Self
They are inside folders numbered 1-4 within the rar folder on my dropbox here: Download!

Install Instructions
Find the "bootanimation.zip" file that you want to use and copy it to the "/data/local" directory on your phone and when you reboot the boot animation will play.
All are 720x1280 which is the screen resolution of the Galaxy Nexus

Okay. Thanks a lot!
Sorry for the slow updates, been very busy with other things, will get these done by tonight
Hi! can I request this too:
THANK YOU!
ok guys, i wanna thank you for your bootanimations, especially the Marvels Avengers Sequence, and the most recently uploaded Marvel-DC=Clash from this thread by KachowPow: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2611238 ( INSTALLATION is the same process as the linked thread so if you are not sure how to put these on your phone, follow the above link for instructions)
after following the tutorials to try and make my own bootanimations, and much trial and error i finally got some to work if anyone is willing to test them out. Both with the Despicable Me theme, so i included the PowerOn.ogg file which is just a short instrumental clip of the theme song for the first movie. its in both the zip files IF you chose to use it, but its not necessary. So without further ado, i present to you my first 2 bootanimations ever.
(These previews are compressed and the actual bootanimation should look better)
First, i found these images minion superhero images from here: http://introspect37.tumblr.com/ (search "minion"). I did not create them, i just cleaned them up and made them all uniform in size for our purposes here. this is where i started, they were all still images so not much "animation" here but i still like it. i wish the background colors were all the same, but again, i was not the original creator of these artworks.

Second, i found this just browsing google images, it comes up on despicableme.com. now the original was in landscape and i had to add space to the top of it to make it the correct dimensions for our phone without chopping any of the animation away.

I hope you guys liked them, and if you guys have any feedback that would be nice.
Thanks for downloading
