WVGA Splash Animations and Screens...

Hey there
Here is my collection of screens that I use for my HTC HD. I have modified some of them a little, but all of them have been gathered from many different posts right here on the board, so Credit to ElCondor and the rest of the original contributors! To install, simply unzip the files to your windows directory and overwrite the originals, and make sure your settings are pointing to the correct default locations for the animation and splash screens. Here we go...
First is my own personal choice, the animation and splash screen mesh together seamlessly:

There's another splash screen to follow, it's also in the same zip as this package. This is another option, a little more elaborate, but it also goes seamlessly with the animation:

Some more, going with the Mobility-Be free-Stay Mobile theme. Rename them or set the registry to point to their name as it is... Enjoy!

[WIP] Bootscreens for Toshiba Thrive - Updated 08/10/11

Hello and welcome the the little BootScreen section for the Thrive. Below you will find some of the first bootscreens I have made so far. If you got requests, please don't hesitate to post.

Some specs:
Most of these will be landscape-oriented bootscreens
The Thrive supports an overall resolution of 1280x800
The true top limit of a stock-rom will be 24 frames per second during boot-up
Approximated # of supported images during boot ~120-170
Most of mine will be below 100 to keep the boot smooth
Audio is supported during boot on a rather limited basis

Installation Instructions:
***The provided zip files are NOT flashable, you will have to manually drop them into place***
***To first time bootscreen changes, you do not extract the zip, it needs to be zipped up for your device to read it properly***
Have a rooted device
Have a file explorer allowing you to write to system files - I preferRootExplorer but any will do
Copy bootanimation.zip to your device/sdcard
Using your file explorer copy or move the file to /system/media
Make sure there are no other .zip files under /system/media
Reboot your device and enjoy you new bootscreen!

Surrogate Self Boot Animations

Install Instructions
Find the "bootanimation.zip" file that you want to use and copy it to the "/data/local" directory on your phone and when you reboot the boot animation will play.
All are 720x1280 which is the screen resolution of the Galaxy Nexus

[Mod/Theme]+[Black Add-On][DIY] App/Contacts Custom Backgrounds

Firstly,
Thanks to original21 for posting eng.stk & blackhand1001's DarkerMod Universal Theme. And thanks to original21 for his work to help make it even better.
Credit me only the app/contacts background examples.
All the real work is theirs and all other credit is eng.stk, blackhand1001 & original21's, not mine.
Here is original21's thread - please go thank him if you appreciate this thread. Thank me too but thank him first

Here's what I did. [I'll do a better diy if requested]
Super easy..
1. Open zip archive in 7zip
2. Navigate to framework nodpi folder and replace background picture with one of your choices [720x1280 but it'll stretch in landscape]
3. Navagte to system app Contacts nodpi folder and replace background. Same deal as 2.
I'm on apophis9283's AOKP 4.2.2 and have only tested on this. Universal Black Backgrounds v8.4 has not interfered with any other zips/mods or setting changes on my phone, with or without my bg's.

I call them examples because ultimately I hope you will do your own and share them with me.
I find this to be a simple way to personalize and get eng.stk & blackhand1001's amazing black menus and the additions made by original21.

[Bootanimation] - Despicable Me

ok guys, i wanna thank you for your bootanimations, especially the Marvels Avengers Sequence, and the most recently uploaded Marvel-DC=Clash from this thread by KachowPow: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2611238 ( INSTALLATION is the same process as the linked thread so if you are not sure how to put these on your phone, follow the above link for instructions)
after following the tutorials to try and make my own bootanimations, and much trial and error i finally got some to work if anyone is willing to test them out. Both with the Despicable Me theme, so i included the PowerOn.ogg file which is just a short instrumental clip of the theme song for the first movie. its in both the zip files IF you chose to use it, but its not necessary. So without further ado, i present to you my first 2 bootanimations ever.
(These previews are compressed and the actual bootanimation should look better)
First, i found these images minion superhero images from here: http://introspect37.tumblr.com/ (search "minion"). I did not create them, i just cleaned them up and made them all uniform in size for our purposes here. this is where i started, they were all still images so not much "animation" here but i still like it. i wish the background colors were all the same, but again, i was not the original creator of these artworks.

Second, i found this just browsing google images, it comes up on despicableme.com. now the original was in landscape and i had to add space to the top of it to make it the correct dimensions for our phone without chopping any of the animation away.
