After looking here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=524119&highlight=messenger I got my live messenger working. I need this, because while tethering my Live messenger on my laptop closes every now and then. Therefore I wanted to see if the same happens while using Live messenger on my TP2.
Everything wás working fine! However: if I start Windows Live messenger now the screen opens and disappears within a second before I'm even able to log on.
Starting messenger from the Windows Live application has the same result.
Any ideas?
T-Mobile Netherlands offers Live Messenger as a download on her website. See http://www.t-mobile.nl/persoonlijk/htdocs/page/service-contact/software-updates/windows-live.aspx, and download and install Messenger from there. It worked for me.
I searched all the forums for this error. When i try to pull up hotmail on my internet browers it says that i need javascript to login in. I tried it on IE and Opera. There is some mention of it in other threads but not resolution for it. Can someone help me. I have a Tilt 2 with the stock 6.5 ROM.
has anyone else gotten this, or know how to enable javascript on the phone
I could never get Hotmail to work through Opera either. But that's what Windows Live is for -- to get Hotmail directly through the TF3D E-Mail tab.
I don't get it... My ROM'ed Kaiser (Tilt) had Opera Mobile integrated into it, and if I set Opera to be a desktop, all the stupid sites with "mobile" versions would give me full versions instead. Including Yahoo Mail.
Now I get this Tilt 2, and Opera is set to identify itself as a desktop PC... but somehow Yahoo still senses it and switches to mobile view. Now the bottom of the main Yahoo page gives the desktop view as an option, but even if you select that, Yahoo mail ALWAYS goes back to mobile view. I HATE mobile view, how do I defeat this problem, and make Yahoo think I'm a desktop PC??? Is it a registry tweak? Like I said, Opera is indeed set to identify as a desktop pc.
??? Very ticked off!!!
I have this problem since I start using windows mobile about 2 years ago, I asked many times, Google groups, forums, etc; nobody answered about this. Am I the only one having this problem?
In Gmail you have stars to mark messages for fallow up, on windows mobile (Outlook) you have red flags.
Why don't these two sync properly? When I star a message in Gmail I expect a flag to appear on mobile device, and the other way around too.
The only email that did this was FlexMail, but this one doesn't have finger-friendly scroll (HTC HD1).
Anyone ?
That's where the 'mobile' in WM comes in. It basically means down'watered down'.
On your phone when looking at your Gmail account, click Menu>Tools>Manage Folders. From there it should have a folder called "Starred" with a box next to it. Click the box to enable that folder. And then sync Send/Recieve on your phone and now all the messages you have Starred on your Gmail account should show up in that folder on your phone.
And if you want to mark an email from your phone as Starred, just click on the email and go to Menu>Move, and then select the Starred folder.
Hope this helps
Yes, that works, but I hoped there is a more natural way. From local device I can also move it to starred in order to place a star on remote message but doesn't seem natural or usable I don't think windows mobile 7 works different eider.
I find it frustrating that for windows mobile there is no:
- Gmail dedicated application
- Skype
- Yahoo messenger
These are all popular services/apps and all of them are available for android and iPhone.
I don't know why Microsoft doesn't care about things like these, these are things that make you switch to another system. Microsoft should make popular applications available if there are none.
I agree, there are a lot of things that Windows Mobile should have that it doesn't. This is why it is dying and Android is taking over (which will be my next phone). If people like(d) WM then they should try the new Windows Phone 7, but in my opinion I don't think it comes close to being as good as Android.
BTW, there is a Skype app for Windows Mobile, I used to have it back when I used Skype but I don't have it anymore. The only downside to it that it is no longer in development. I'm not sure where I got it from but I'm sure it can be found by doing a google search. The last version released is 3.0, I believe.
Yes, there was* a Skype for windows mobile but they said they will discontinue it and as I remember it already doesn't work anymore.
It's like they all joined forces against windows mobile /microsoft.
I refuse to believe that Skype doesn't have the technical possibilities to keep a window mobile app available. It must be some marketing thing.
the Skype application is still running....
and easy to find for download if you need it
OK, I will test it again, last time it would not connect and I know when they took it offline they said it will only work to the end of 2010.
there was some "Skype Lite" version which no longer works, but I don't know that Lite Version at all, my normal Skype version is still working.
Maybe you check your connection settings in skype once again, make sure skype is allowed to use the mobil net as well (setting ActiveSync/WLAN/Mobil)
I have a normal Skype app on my WM phone.
There is no standalone application for yahoo messenger, but there are plenty of 'all-in-one' apps too.
And my Gmail works fine, I have it synced through Microsoft Exchange as well as regular mail. I have had no issues with it. Don't seem to know why you are..
The possibilities: I have the i920 and you have i8000 or b7610???
Also, I run build 23569 (COM 5/ 6.5.5) and it's quite fine for my every day use.
AND lastly, Android is progressing the way it is, because of 'open development' and WM/WP just has a bad rep from the past, and have a lot of catching up to do. They haven't yet hit their sweet spot. I could go on, but I'll stop here.
@nickmo20 can you sync local flags with remote stars from Gmail? That was my main issue. Other sync works fine.
i don't see a problem, i have 3 accounts of gmail, 2 of hotmail, yahoo, 1 of my work... all of them work very well... for other hand skype app works fine! exist a voip program for wm, its amazing... for chat i use palringo, (msn, yahoo, gtalk, aim, gg, ichat, aol, xmpp, facebook) i can send picture, send tag voice, send file, etc...i dont have problem, just run fine
Does the flag/stars sync work?
Hi,
I'm having problems logging into the forum on my PC using Internet Explorer or Microsoft Edge. I get to the point where I'm thanked for logging in, and am invited to click if my browser doesn't redirect me, but when I get redirected (or click) I'm still not logged in on the destination page. I've tried clearing cookies and stuff, and it works fine in Chrome, but for the life of my I can't seem to log in using the Microsoft browsers.
Any ideas?
Cheers,
Steve.
Strange, it should work fine on Edge.
Are you able to test on another machine in Chrome. I can't think what the issue would be, if it works ok on Chrome, and you've cleared cookies etc.
