Hello. I am announcing this project here in hope of gathering feedback from the XDA-dev community. A friend of mine and me have been developing this app for a while now, and we think it has reached a point where it is quite usable and presentable. It's still a bit rough around the edges and lacking in advanced features, but we're working to improve it.

wow nice app! Is possible to set host to any www site chat?
If cabbed your app - "Wr4i7t's microIRC Client"
Do you accept donations, cause I have been looking for a program like this. I would love to see it grow.
If this gets blowfish and Linknet/SSL support at some point that would certainly make me donate!
All the existing IRC clients sadly dont seem to want to integrate this library meaning I can never read anything in my channels.
I know this is a first version and these are most likely very advanced requests but if the app is not "built" with this in mind it might not be implementable at a later point.
I have no idea on programming so thats nothing I can help on but I would gladly beta-test any new functions for you.
But for actually starting this project (since all others died) I already have to give you all a big THANKS!!!

This app is an IRC client, so it can only connect to IRC servers. However, in the unlikely case that such a site were to use an IRC backend, you could connect to it.

Thanks for the cab. We're planning to distribute cabs once the app is a bit more mature. However, I'd like to point out that I'm not even the main developer, so don't give me all the credit.

We'll consider adding that feature in the future. Right now, there are other priorities, since the app is still lacking in some very basic aspects, so it can still be a while before we get to it.
Thanks for all your feedback.
Nice work
Awesome client.
In fact the first IRC klient I have tried, where you can actually join channels/networks of your own pick. It runs smoothly on my HD2.
once you get close to zsIRC stability (for me and friends at least) let me know, otherwise...
http://zsirc.com/
doesnt get updated often, but havent needed to for the 3 servers and 15 channels i use... cheers (i look forward to a more oft updated IRC client)

The program is actually quite stable right now. What it really lacks is functionality. But yeah, for actual day-to-day usage, you're better off with zsirc, for the time being.
Really awesome, been looking for something like this for a while
Just needs more stability and functionality, but otherwise I'm using it just fine
Thanks!

Hydros Sync Center
This thread is made sololy for the discussion in hydros sync center.Hydros Sync center is a syncronization aplication which is planned to replace activesync and it is compatible with all version of windows mobile throught the simple and elegant RAPI interface. to learn more about Hydros Sync Center and it's features, please stay tuned for more updates or take a look at it's features which we have integrated so far. This project is meant to allow users to understand that there is more to mobile computing than the mundane lifestyle of Activesync (no offense to microsoft). Here is some info about it:

This application is meant to resemble the simple interfaces of the Apple Itunes and some features of the Zune. Currently, all of the features listed have been implanted in the app except for video converting and audio converting. To pre-order this application or donate, please click the link on my signature and support my work!
-Take note that those who donated (any amount), can get the application 1 week earlier and they also get some "premium" features which are not available through buying it later.
you need to provide a working app first prior to asking for donations.

For me... It'll work if it is MAC compatible...
Make it *nix compatible. I'd pay for that. then you'd have to release under GPL. and I could have source. hah that'd be sweet.

Thread closed, asking for orders/donations before providing a product is dubious at best. It also conflicts with our "no commerce" policy.

Hi,
I have written an application for QVGA devices (240x320). I felt the lack of a genuine google chat application that was free of charge.
History
v0.1 Beta
Text messages
Avatars
Finger Touch/Scroll Friend List
Marquee for long status messages
New email notification
Tab based Chatting
Notification on new Message (sound + vibrate)
Detect Invisible Users
Friend list sorted just like Windows client (Gtalk) on basis of availabilty and name.
Cool GUI
Notes
NovoTalk is written in C#, so .Net CF 3.5 will be required.
Might not work properly on smartphones.
Tested by me on WM 5,6,6.1 and on HTC Touch with WM 6.5

As of now, I am giving out the cab installer to a selected few beta testers. Once the initial testing is done, I will attach the RC cab file here. There are plans that this application might be open-sourced at a later stage.
Please help me in testing this application.
If you are interested to be a beta tester, please add your request here :

nimbuzz
not bad but what better than nimbuzz or talkonaut?
Nimbuzz requires registration to its own service( which I refer to as third party registration). Talkaunaut is good, but again it adds gtalk2voip bot to your contacts without approval and call features does not work many times. IMHO these according to me are the only good free options, but not clean as the Gtalk Windows client.
a free client is always welcome. any chance it will support other chat platforms ?
Oh yes, the future versions will definitely support other platforms. But my first target is to make it compatible with smartphones.
I am in for beta testing.
It looks good, I going to testing
damn man! you should make yahoo messenger like this...cool app..thanks...
jockeylol & AxlR,
Please PM me your contact info, so that I can send you the .cab file.

Thanks! I just want this encouragement to make this application better and more stable. Yahoo Messenger! You read my mind, actually I will be working on it when NovoTalk has a stable version released.
I have sent you .cab file for test purposes.
PS : A call to designers to give some ideas, as I am planning to introduce themes in NovoTalk.
This looks so sweet! Will it also support WVGA in the future?
@jockeylol
I have sent the .cab file to you
yeah, the next release will have support for all resolution, and hopefully for landscape modes too.
nice! Brazil and India will be happy with a Orkut compatible app
we rulz there!
@boto
That's a nice idea. If you meant to say orkut scrap notifications should be done, I tried looking up for that feature, but google has no documentation on it as of now(or at least I could not find one).I don't promise this feature, but I will try to include it in the next release
Thanks for the suggestion!
Wow this looks like a great app, I'm in for beta testing if needed.
@trinest
Yup, you are in [Check your mailbox]
EDIT : It seems Hotmail and other accounts on Live services reject mails from my domain, not sure why though. Do you have alternate contact e-mail?
Looks like a really nice app. I would love to see WVGA support in the future.
@trinest
Sent to your alternate e-mail
@xenokira
Thanks! Yeah that's definitely going to be supported. The feature requests that I have received will require me to code the framework from scratch. So, I expect a much better GUI and faster application.
I think that there is a little less interest in my application at XDA? Please prove me wrong and designers may help me
Everyone loves Teeter right? I'm sure there'll be lots of shoddy ports for WP7 on launch, so I decided to do it right and first
Obviously, I'm pretty sure the name is trademarked, so will have to be changed before release...

Will come out at 3 pm EST today.
thats great news Guess that gives me more motivation to finish it then
And how about a real Metro UI skin? I guess it will look great!
A metro UI skin is a great idea, just not sure about how to pull it off well, will give it a try though

Make everything a blue block? I joke, of course Very nice work, looking forward to see how this comes along, as this is by far my favorite Windows Mobile game.
Nice job, OP! I wouldn't be surprised if HTC have already made a port, but this is still very cool.
My only comment is the 3D view looks a bit strange. There is no real depth, just the 2D Window rotating in 3D space. Look on youtube for "labyrinth 3D".
Keep up the great work!

I forgot to mention, that view is just for the emulator, as I cant really pick up my monitor and tilt it around
As soon as I get a real device to test on, I'll move everything over to the real G-Sensor, and lose the pseudo 3d kinda thing
ALLTHOUGH
I could easily make the 3D view better and have this as an alternate to using the G-Sensor, perhaps as an option from the menu? All input is helpful at this stage
Also, anyone who wants to follow my dev work, my twitter is @lordadamwalker.
Not much stuff about this project yet, but I only started yesterday morning, so It'll be there. Best way to keep updated
I would like a natural Port of the Game most.
Please add a Missionselector after one managed the final level.
If you make a Metro SKin please make it alternative, some people dont like it all the time.
Also I think Stability and low latenzity is more importent the difficult View, you should set your priorities according to that.
looking fwd to see how this game turns out...

A direct port is where I'm starting certainly, any extra features I can add when I finish the engine completely.
There will be a level selector for completed levels.
And there will definitely be a choice of skin to suit all tastes
Performance and reliability are my key focus, so rest assured the engine will be well tested and tuned
Not one to double post, but I now have access to a Windows Phone 7 device, so I should be able to make some real progress. Updates coming very soon
well?
Where is the port?
You might have better luck finding the OP on twitter. He hasn't logged into XDA since May last year.

Hey guys seems there is some news files to test on your WP7.
Today we have an exciting breakthrough for the Windows Phone 7 homebrew community - the ability for anyone to unlock a WP7 device without a Marketplace developer account.
Unlocking allows the sideloading of experimental applications that would otherwise can’t be published to the Marketplace, such as those which access private or native APIs.
We’ve taken the pain out of the process involved and put together a super simple executable that will allow anyone to unlock any WP7 device on the market using a USB cable and just a couple clicks.
This tool is completely safe and reversible for the phone. (The app even allows you to relock the phone.)
v1.0 download mirrors:

Notes
Minimum supported OS: Windows XP SP2
As this is our first release, you may run into issues. Please explain your issue in the comments below and we’ll try our best to help.
Expect more goodies/tools to be released in the near future.
We look forward to what the broader community can do with this.

i hope we can use it for the ported win phoneon hd2 ...can we ?
is it true for hd2 ports?
That was quick! Fantastic news for developers. Just need to get our teeth into some native code and we will start seeing some applications which aren't rss readers!
NVM.. stupid question
it isn't working you have to ad this .reg
Code:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsPhone\ProxyPorts]
"DeviceReg"=dword:000069C5

I don't have a WP7 to test this, but MSDN says:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff769512(VS.92).aspx
edit: Oh, you can ignore the "Having a developer registered device" prerequisite
Could we get our xbox accounts banned for this? I have absoultely no intention of piracy. i cant stand that **** with someones hard work.
That's exactly how I feel. I'm not going to utilize this to pirate paid apps, just want to use all of the amazing stuff people at xda-devs and other sites are going to put out now
All we need is a Cydia-like marketplace
Now I can't try this because my phone is already unlocked using the Microsoft way, but I'm simply curios - does debugging using Visual Studio work as well? It should, shouldn't it?
I just managed to make/load an app that moos when you turn the phone upside down XD in 3 min.
Roll over android, Think WP7 is going be any C# developers wet dream to work on.
If you're a WP Developer and you have your FREE App posted, submitted to the App Store (or soon), show me the thread!
Why? I will be reviewing and maybe talk/show XDA Developers Apps ONLY and if your App is useful, innovative, fun, or any adjective I haven't provided, I would like to share it on an upcoming episode of XDA TV for WP as I won't be providing programming help every week, so we figured why not show off some of your guys/girls work. No guarantees and nagging/PMs will be ignored.
Looking forward to your Apps!

The key point: It's developed entirely using TouchDevelop, Microsoft's Research on device programming environment. Means it is developed solely right on Windows Phone itself.
On device programming could actually turn out to be a big thing.
Hope to see it on XDA TV.

Available in the next languages: English (as primary), Russian, Spanish and Korean
In next updates will add: Italian and Portuguese languages, some fixes and sounds that users asked.
Sometimes could crash server (I host sounds in my own server, but buying more bandwidth as my apps is being more downloaded).
