even if they don't have the esn in their systems, it's still possible. using cdma workshop, clone the esn to the esn of your existing boost cdma device.

ESN cloning = illegal
Probably shouldn't discuss it in this law-abiding forum. You'll get booted.

This isn't a law abiding fourm. Using HTC's proprietary drivers/software in a custom rom is illegal as well.
The only thing I could think of to say to the OP is just.. You're dumb.. I mean, really? I thought stupidity was defined when someone got an Evo working on Metro.. But you actually want a badass phone like an Evo, on a ****ty ass service like Boost?

Using HTC's drivers/software in a custom ROM is punishable by civil penalties at the worst (and completely legal at best). Violating terms of use is not a crime and can only get you sued, not thrown in jail. Also, it really is a grey area if they could actually sue you anyways. I'd like to see a court actually award damages if you are using HTC software on an HTC device, it would almost definitely get thrown out immediately.
ESN cloaning, on the other hand, is a crime. Punishable by jail time. Although I doubt you'd get jail time if you weren't cloaning yourself onto someone elses' account, it can still be a criminal act, unlike anything you do to the ROM.

doesn't boost have a cdma blackberry 8330 ?
Short answer to OP question, is yes, you probably can flash the EVO to Boost. However, you should go check out the Boost forums over at Howardforums for this sort of thing.
On a side note to address the Boost bashing or whatever. People flash their phones to providers like Boost, Cricket, MetroPCS, etc. to save money. Most people, like the OP, go through a lot of phones and don't want the restrictions of being on a major carrier tied down with ETF or contracts. I personaly know 5 people with EVO's flashed over to cricket paying $35 a month for talk, text, and web vs. Sprint 79.99 + taxes..
you do realize that boost (the cdma part of boost) and virgin mobile both use sprints network right?
i mean im all for flaming the stupid and i dont know the history of the guy asking the question but there are legit reasons for wanting an EVO on Boost...Namely you save at least 30 bucks per month
and if we are going to roast people at least do it with correct information
LOL..
CDMA Boost = Sprint (without Roaming) even 3G. I have a Touch Pro2 on Boost at $50/month with 3G data. Am I stupid? I think not... What he said... Flame with correct data.
And YES, I would like to have an EVO (nice device) on Boost (inexpensive GOOD Sprint service to SAVE MONEY.)

the thing is that sprint doesn't a have plan where some one can buy a phone at full price and use it on a month to month deal or do they and i just cant find in on there webpage like with Verizon i bought a droid when they first came out but paid full price but used it mouth to mouth does sprint have somethink like that
Try going to a Sprint Corporate store and asking.
PROTIP: Bestbuy is not Sprint Corporate.
The Evo on metropcs works great for me for the $40 a month price, though you'll have to get the esn added through houdini in a non-official manner so to speak. Search craigslist and there'll be a ton of adds of people who can add the evo to the metropcs network.
so in other words, yes it's possible as the cdma radio hardware is the same,
however some people who are not lawyers think it's illegal to change the ESN
even though you're not stealing any service.
Protip: Sprint bought Virgin last week. They already had 51% share and decided to purchase.
Virgin does not allow flashed phones on their network (sprint). Now you can flash evo to verizon, cricket and metropc and other verizon based providers. Cricket is nice because for 55 you get android plan with everything unlimited and it runs on network that evo was designed for.
Nothing is impossible in our world.
Anyone out there dedicated and financially capable of trying? lol

You had the Virgin Mobile Intercept though, not the Sprint one, right? It doesn't matter that they're technically the same network. They use different databases to check ESN numbers. You'd have to buy an Android phone from them (get the Optimus V, it's cheaper and better than the Intercept) and spoof the ESN of the Evo to match the other phone's. Make sure only one is turned on at a time though or the ESN will be banned, and since they'll have the same ESN neither will work!
Is it illegal? No. You're not scamming anyone. You'd still be paying the same amount of money. Plus, you own the original phone with the ESN you'd be copying, so it's not illegal.
I'm using HTC Evo on Cricket now, and next couple weeks I'll try to make it work on Virgin base on what I did to transfer from Sprint to cricket. Just change the prl ,ip .........I'll see
Google it and I found the prl from the thread called : How to flash a phone to virgin

You can find out what the data settings are on howareforums, in a thread called How To: Flash a phone to virgin mobile, but they won't tell you how to change an esn.
Some people thinks it's illegal to change esn # so we aren't allowed to tell how it's done on most forums.
If you look around online and youtube you can find out.
If you end up getting it working let us know.

Were you running the PRL hack to force roam on Verizon towers? I think I read a post from DirtyShroomz somewhere saying if this happens to you, you are pretty much scarred (for a lack of better terms).
I'm sure he'll chime in sooner than later.
Nope, nothing you can do to go back and no other network that can support the EVO outside of smaller CDMA carriers like Cricket and possibly Metro PCS. Sell it on eBay and find out who has better coverage in your area - Verizon or T-Mobile - and jump over to them. You could check out AT&T too but they're going to be noticeably more expensive from what I've seen.

Or get someone else to open an account or add a line to their existing account. Again, you'd have to make sure Sprint left your ESn open for activation. Otherwise, the phone will hold no value to you or any other Sprint user.

Use it on virgin mobile.
$25/mo gets you 300 mins & unlimited texts/data.
$40/mo gets you 1200 mins & unlimited texts/data.
$60/mo gets you unlimited mins & unlimited texts/data.
And you pay less than sprint! (3G only, though. But who uses the battery hog known as 4G anyway? FWIW, clear.com will sign up your wimax mac address for a monthly plan if you call and supply the necessary info if you are in a 4g area and desire it. )
ALSO: For excess data roaming, sprint does _NOT_ ban the phone.
That would be ludicrous. They ban the name and the ban is "good" for one year from the date they cancelled you.

How much forced roaming will make them dump you? I occasionally use roam control when in a basement or something if I have no signal. If anything I'll make a short phone call, or a few texts.

Can anyone confirm this? I read in a Thread that helps Sprint users Flash their Epic to Boost that if you Roam A LOT, they end your contract. No ETF, no nothing. Just dead. This would be AMAZING if it were true.
From all I read about it, you have to going crazy with your roaming. Like downloading a lot of movies each month. Sprint sends a warning letter and if it keeps up, they will terminate you.

If it is a good price, then buy it, the esn does not matter cause it is in the sprint data base as being bad and you are not going to activate on sprint.
Anyway the sprint bad esn is going to change via a "donor" which you need when going to boost so again that takes care of the bad esn issue.

go incognito, cause mostly all flashing docs are based on the xfering files from the incognitio.....just remember you will only have 3g, as you know the N2 does not have 4g wimax and there is still no hack as of yet to piggy back on sprint LTE network.
there are cheap incog phones on ebay, also you can just buy the files needed (NV and ESN) I think like $30 which is also all you need if you dont a phone.
Any help you can give in terms of either of those options is appreciated. I simply figured its an easy way to make a few extra bucks. Nothing major just $30 or $40. Where do I find these files? And in terms of buying a phone, I saw a 3g boost phone for $20 on ebay. That would be sufficient?

well the simple way out, when I put my GF on boost was just having CDMA workshop, I bought version (3.9):
I bought the (nv and esn) files from ebay, loaded them up to a S3 called up Boost activated a new account since she was new to Boost. They had me dial ##msl# then enter the phone numbers in the proper places, reboot and that was it. It was up and working, also make sure you change the mmsc to http://mm.myboostmobile.com so that your mms will work.
What do I search for to find these files on ebay? Does it even make sense for me to do this? Is there $ to be made buying phones w a bad esn and flashing them to boost mobile?

I dont know if buying files and phone and flashing then selling might make $$$$$$$. Example note 2 bad esn +/- 450 after if you were going to just do N2 you would need to sell for about 500 to 600 if you want to make a little something....and that is a lot of $$$ even I would pass. Now if a person brought over a N2 or any sprint phone and you put it on boost for about 100...... ten phones 1k easy money and that can be a day or a week...still good $$$, even if it is a side job. Of course - $$$$ for buying the files I think still pretty good.

sure you can, it is really not that hard like Evil stated, non boost phones that come from sprint are worth it and people will bite, now that the S2 is on Boost it is not that much of a high demand...people want S3 and Note2 on boost...even EVO's...etc.
Fak! Not worth it. 420? You can buy a xbox360. I would be at the most is 150 $.

if you are going to do it as a side job, then it would be worth buying CDMA Workshop(3.9) that is all the software you need. It also helps the dev a lot which is always good and you get free upgrades etc......
1. buy the files
2. load them up to the phone
3. call boost activate
4. change the mmsc

Sprint owns Boost.
You would have to flash the device to accept Boosts network settings. I'm not versed on the specifics but I'm thinking you will have to have a working Boost device as a donor.
Search "Flash sprint phone to Boost". I'm sure you will find instructions.

You seem dedicated to get terminated by sprint. I'm assuming you're going to force roam and use a couple of Gigs until they terminate your plan. I won't go into my opinion of that practice (I'm against it, btw), but I'll give my thoughts/advice on whether you can port over or not.
I know when you switch carriers in a "normal" fashion, you can port your phone number over with relative ease. The last couple of times I've switched carriers, I just had to go into my new carrier and tell them my phone number and what my previous service was. When you're terminated, I doubt that you'd be able to port it over that easily.
You can look around XDA and find people who have been terminated and PM them to see what happened with their number. I wouldn't be surprised if the number would be unavailable for a while after being terminated.
Thanks for the info. I wont go into it but ts ridiculous what im going through.

Well hell, I just stopped 3 years of "avid daily lurking" and registered, just to agree with that statement!
I'll grab my axe and pitchforks. Bring torches, we meet near the tower at midnight

If I get terminated by Sprint can I open an account and port my number over to boost mobile?? I hear Boost is their parent company or can I use my sprint phone with another company?

Once Sprint terminates you then you no longer have a phone number. There for they can not port over the phone number. You can sign up with boost mobile without any flags since it's prepaid so no chance on you skipping out on the bill. Even though boost is owned by Sprint, boost is prepaid and does not do any kind of credit checks.

People are getting creative on how to get out of their contracts or upgrade and keep ur unlimited data nowadays.
If your "terminated" they prolly lock the account up for a few weeks. It wouldn't suprise me if they tagged you, cuz nowadays they're cracking down on that kind of stuff

I'm just saying this but, boost is technically on the sprint network under a different name, ie boost. Sprints network connection is horrid.. A nightmare.. You would honestly be better off with a different pay as you go service or just starting a contract with a new company.
