Screen Protector WARNING - Captivate Accessories

I bought a 3 pack of screen protectors from clearscreens for only 1.30. I knew they were cheap and all, but these protectors were HORRIFIC. They were a bit too big for the phone so I found them having a lot of bubbles and always moving. They had SCRATCHES, yes scratches, on the back itself so my phone looks uneven. I applied these in my bathroom after running hot water and cleaned so there was no dust, just a heads up. DONT BUY FROM clearscreens
And yes I understand its only a dollar, but still, a bad item is a bad item

man, thanks for the heads up. I bought a universal screen protection kit in the att store today (ya know the ones you can cut out and make urself). I was afraid when i read this that those are the ones you were talking about.
If you get the 3 pack from the att store that is universal, put the screen on your phone without pealing off any coats on it and draw the outline of what you want to cover and then cut it out. Its really simple because the cover on the screen protector has a grid printed on it. Stick it on in a humid bathroom (not too humid, just enough so that you feel the humidity) and get the bubbles out. Some of the edges might not stick down right away, take ur phone out to your room and let it sit. Press the edges down whenever you remember and eventually they will stick.
Ps when you cut the screen protector to size always round off any corners so they dont catch in your pocket.

Ok thanks
Also, the protector was cut and it seemed like it would fit, but it just was a tad big so there would be bubbles. I won't lie, I went through all three and this one just looks horrible, but I am keeping it on just so my screen doesn't get scratched until I buy a new one

if you still have the original no texting and driving screen protector it came with, you can use acetone to remove the text on it and then reapply it to your screen. Ya know just as an alternative

Wish i could use it, but the ATT rep tore it off right away

that bastard. That stock screen protector is one of the better ones that people will ever have lol.

Yah, but my rep saw a dust particle so he wiped it off with his FINGER. When I got it there were smudges already

shoulda asked for a replacement rofl.

I am waiting for my screen protector from AT&T. I generally buy Zagg but it seems to be too sticky for me lately. I'm going to try this one out for a while.

I have the AT&T protectors on my Captivate. They work fine, but really show the smudges. Constantly wiping it down because it looks tacky. They aren't "no-glare" so you do get some reflection, and they don't seem to affect the screen sensitivity too much. I still type the wrong stuff inadvertently. . . .

Agreed, I did the same thing you did, wish you had posted this before I bought mine They suck. A lot.

I also bought a pack before reading your post. They just arrived today and I thought I'd give them a try anyway. Looks horrid and feels worse. Nasty. At least I didn't waste too much money.

Invisible Gadget Guard screen protector and full body protector

I ordered those from eBay for around $15, they just arrived today. Tried to apply body protector first. Body protector is made out of 5 pieces and no matter how hard you would try to fit them, it's impossible to get them to stick nicely and not move. Started with the battery cover piece that's the largest and easiest to apply, it turned out to be just a little too big and when I put battery cover back on the of the phone, sides of the protector unglued and let the air under them which created bubbles. Tried side protector next, but that thing is impossible to fit. Gave up on the whole body protector and though to just apply screen protector and keep my gel case for now.
Screen protector is of the most horrible quality I've ever seen in my life! It's so grainy, it looks like my screen has a resolution of about 100x40 after application. More than that I'm not sure if it's because I used soaped water (as per instructions) or for some other reason, but parts of the screen-protector actually turned grey (against black background), some other parts are a bit clearer, but still, grain kills the whole thing. Ripped it off and will be waiting for some better screen-protectors to show up on the market.
Don't waist your money on those.
Great I just ordered one a few days ago.

My Zagg should be here tomorrow
I ordered a similar protector from clearfreak (they were the only ones selling a protector for the captivate when I ordered about 10 days ago), and it came in the other day. While the material itself seemed about on par with the zagg protectors (I've used Zagg before), the screen protector was a bit too big, so theres a bubble going across the top where the protector wraps around the top of the phone.
I see that zagg has protectors now, so I guess I'll get one of those. They seem to have changed up their offerings a bit, they offer full body "maximum coverage" and "easy install"; can anyone tell me how difficult the maximum coverage protector is to apply? I've done a zagg full body install on my zune hd, so I understand that these things are a bit tricky to get on just right, but I want to know if the full body is significantly harder than the easy install one with a bit less coverage.
How is the touch screen after you put on the screen protector? I have had a few that really seemed to mess with the touch screen. It seemed like it took twice as much pressure for it to react.
Is that the case with the captivate as well?

Capacitive touchscreens aren't pressure sensitive, so protector or not, how hard you press shouldn't make a difference. That being said, I have a Zagg invisibleshield on my zune hd, and it hasn't affected the touch sensitivity at all.
I've used BodyGuardz and Zagg before. The one piece of advice I have is, instead of using the soaped water they give you, use isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol. It lets you slide the cover to the correct position very easily and will just evaporate out from under the cover, leaving no bubbles. I had a super clean install on my HTC Pure that way. To be safe I'd also remove the battery and make sure the phone has plenty of time to dry before you turn it on again. Also, if you enter ZAGG's weekly iPad giveaway thingy they have been giving out 40 and 50% off coupon codes.
I just got the AT&T screen protectors (pack of 3 for $10). I actiually got it for 5 (50% off through FAN account) and they are of good quality, clear and fit perfectly. There's even a cutout for the earpiece speaker and light and proximity sensors.
The two AT&T stores I went to did not have them but the AT&T smaller stores in the malls did.
I got the full body Invisible Gadget Guard, and mine looks fine. I didn't use soapy water, just plain old water, and everything fits perfectly, except for when I was dipping it in the bowl of water it snagged on the side of the bowl and when I made the mistake of trying to pull it off, it stretched, but I just cut it to fit and it's hardly noticeable.
Although, I won't lie. I did order the Zagg front screen protector for the fact that I know it works. I did the infamous "key test" on this cheap one, and it performed surprisingly well..
But it's not completely a rip-off if done right, especially for the $5 I paid.

you paid 5 bucks?
Let us know when you all get your Zagg Invisible Shield protectors in. I am trying to decide between Zagg and BodyGuardz. I haven't used either but I love the device entire too much to cover with a case.
With a 45 day money back guarantee, surely it cannot be that bad for the $24.
I bought the Invisible Gadget Guard off Ebay as well for $13.97 with a free car charger. I used just water to get it on. At first, it felt and looked awful but given 2 days, everything smoothed out and I was able to get all bubbles off. It's actually pretty nice now. I had to snip a little of the sides because I stretched it a little too long, but that's not a big deal.
I have a Zagg on my Zune HD, and initially I felt like it was a bit rubbery, but I left it on to see what happened, and after a week or so, it didn't feel rubbery anymore to me. You have to be really careful with the installation, make sure you dont get any dust/debris under the protector, but after that you can throw it in your pocket without any worries.
I got a phantomskinz for my captivate, since it ended up being similar in price to the Zagg but comes with 2 instead of one, and I'll post back here with impressions once it comes in.

I bought it and it was total crap. Waste of money!
Well I just finished installing this, and TBH it wasn't that bad... I've done many type of film installations on cars and stuff and it was very similar to doing it on the phone. I took my time with it and I am actually very satisfied with the result. It gives the phone a very needed grippy feel. Some pieces weren't the most perfect size to fit but it covered most of the area pretty well. I will got some pictures up later tonight. You really have to take your time with this installation or get a professional to do it, other wise you will end up like some people on here not very satisfied at all.

I've had it on for a week now and I've grown to like it quite a bit. Still considering getting a case since it won't protect it from drops.

I hate Screen Protectors! Any other ideas???

I cannot stand the installation procedure needed for the screen protectors. Every single time: I use the "provided micro fiber" cloth to remove dirt and lint and the apply. EVERY TIME I am left with tiny lint,, micro specs of air dust etc. between the film and the screen, and a small little bubble here and there. It drives me crazy. Call me obsessive compulsive but it take me about 3 screen protectors until I finally get it right. Anyone aware of any screen protection technology that will help me avoid this outcome?
I don't, but I did read that if you apply it in the bathroom after running hot water and steaming it up real good that it will help that problem a lot. I plan to try that when I get my first screen protector this week.

Hard type screen protectors will solve your bubble issues. Martin Fields screen protectors is pretty much impossible to have bubbles stuck inside it.
However it won't solve your dust problem. If anything, it's much easier to see dirt and other imperfections stuck between the screen and a Martin Field protector.
Or you could try one of the crystal screen protectors from boxwave. I had your problem too with my first 2 screen protectors, and it seemed that I couldn't just get them on there without a problem. With this one from boxwave, I just wiped it off with the provided micro-fiber cloth and used the bubble-elimination card to remove any possible bubbles under the screen!
http://www.boxwave.com/
Get the ones from ATT. I have tried Bodyguardz, Zagg, Stealth Guards, and some generic BS from eBay. All of those were the type you apply with the solution (and have that dreaded orange peel look) and you have to wait for it to "cure" and it is extremely easy to get bubbles stuck in them.
The ones from ATT on the other hand, are completely smooth and truly invisible. They are a stiffer material and you do not need application solution. I am very happy with them and for 9.99 you get 3 of them. If you mess one up by getting some lint on it or whatever, you can just wash it with soapy water and spray it down with some water+baby soap and re apply it that way. Very easy to get the air bubbles out that are caused by using the solution. Again, they can be installed with no solution at all and if done carefully, it should look like nothing was ever installed on the phone
http://www.wireless.att.com/cell-ph...038&q_sku=sku4770252&q_manufacturer=&q_model=
I got them from a local store for 7$ since I got a discount. Those above ^^ from BoxWave seem extremely over priced. For 10$ you can't go wrong with the ones from ATT.
I am using clarivue not even a single dust, lint, inside. It's the quick and easy 3 layer type screen protectors.
Here's a tip ... go to the bathroom and turn on hot water on sink or whatever to create humidity that would trap the dust or w/e in the air ... and it makes this easier to apply.
I haven't had a screen protector on my Vibrant in almost 2 months now & even with constantly putting it in my pocket with my keys, dropping it once onto my driveway & even fumbling it into bouncing off a brick wall one time I have yet to scratch my screen. The rest of the phone is dented & scratched but the screen is still beautiful.

I had my iPod Touch for years, in and out of pockets with keys and pocket-knives and cell phones, dropped countless times, two little kids messing with it all the time, accidentally sliding it face-down across surfaces, and so on. Never used a screen protector, never got a single blemish or scratch. And that was basically plain old arsenic-free glass. The Captivate is made with Corning's high-tech Gorilla Glass.
Sure, either could still scratch or break. But it's like getting a car with an expensive paintjob, and then covering the whole thing in Scotch tape so it won't get scratched. You end up with something that looks god-awful 100% of the time, because you're afraid something might happen to it that would affect how it looks. Pretty much any time someone hands me their smartphone or DS, it is a scratched, smudgy, dusty mess because of some $40 screen cover they have on there. I always try to point out that it seems odd to make your screen look terrible on purpose just because you're afraid of you might make it look terrible on accident. I used one good one once, that you couldn't even tell was there, but the first time I took it on a flight it turned into smears of rainbows.
use a piece of clear packing tape to remove the dust. running the shower helps bring dust down but there will be some lint from the cloth. dont lean over it, a lot of "dust" is dry dead skin or dandruff so if you have dry skin or dry scalp dust will fall on it. also stop being so anal.

I don't need no stinkin' screen protector. I mean unless I know my phone is going to be dragged across macadam but then a screen protector won't help, will it.
Gorilla Glass... Screen Protector unnecessary... I have always used a screen protector too on previous phones but the screen on this phone is rugged.
I used to be the same way as you guys, "I don't need a screen protector because it's been through everything and still works perfectly!!" Yet, one day I found a scratch on my screen that I have no idea whatsoever where it came from. So, I got this Boxwave ClearTouch Crystal screen protector, and you literally cannot tell it is on there. It feels just like the glass (con for me actually, I prefer a paper kind of feel) and doesn't scratch easily at all. Plus, I installed it in a dusty room and there was no lint or anything else under the screen. It even comes with a thick card to remove bubbles once it has been applied. So, if you're even slighty, .000001% scared of getting lint trapped underneath the screen, go with Boxwave. I vouch for its clarity and ease of installation. Also, my screen is just as sensitive as before, as I've tried BARELY touching the screen and it still would pick up a touch.
And, in the rare event that you did get dust glued to the screen, it is completely washable and rewashable, so it is a little expensive, but well, well worth it.
Oh, and there is no adhesive whatsoever, not even water is needed. Just peel and go.

totally terrible advice. not that i care but i have about 20 microscratches and a couple decent sized ones....
it takes time to learn how to put screen protectors on... I have probably put 500 or so on all different types of phones you just wipe it clean tilt it so that you can make sure there are no dust particles... then you pull the backing off of the protector a few inches apply to the designated area and take a credit card and follow the rest of the protector down... works everytime

I second this . there is no such thing as 'unscratchable glass' some very expensive sunglasses use to have that warranty , guess what , they dont anymore ...
although I have to say the argument about HAVING YOUR PHONE LOOK UGLY JUST IN CASE SOME ACCIDENT CAN HAPPEN TO MAKE UGLY made me laugh , I d never have a phone without one my advice :
Just buy a few cheap ones on eBay and master the trick when your bored , after 3 times it should be installed perfectly , I also noticed if you have light scratches already on it , the screen protector hides them so thats a bonus
Ive tried SO many screen protectors. The only one I have been happy with so far (and VERY happy at that) is Realook. They are SUPER clear, thin, and very hard. You do not lose the glassy feel or the crisp vivid look on the screen. Ive put them on a few phones now, a few Vibrants and a Mytouch Slide 3g (my gf didnt even know i had put it on there till i told her). Its $10 for 2 protectors and I HIGHLY recommend them.

I have a tiny little chip right in the middle of my screen on my Captivate about a cm underneath the AT&T logo. It has taken less abuse than yours, and it even has a screen protector on it. It looks like the kind of chip you would get if a piece of gravel hit your windshield a little too hard.
Your mileage may vary.

Thanks for the info on the Boxwave screen protector, I've been wandering if it's as good as it looks.
In the malls near me now, there are little carts (you know those areas of the mall, where the cart/carny people are) that have people with small steady hands...
Invisible Shield it is called. They give you a lifetime warranty on the cover. They put it on. They will even cover your entire phone if you want (the back of the Captivate I am thinking of getting covered to avoid scratches on the metal back), and if you get a replacement phone for some reason, you only pay a portion of the price (material only) and they put it on again.
They use some sort of silicon liquid (snake oil... was probably just water) to aid in putting it on, and mine is perfect. Had a couple bubbles with the liquid still in it, but true to their word, it evaporated (through the protector) and it was perfect the next morning.
I jumped at this opportunity after totally FAILING at putting on a protector on my Tilt 2 (two packs of 3). On that phone, I took an exacto knife to cut off the excess I was so bad at it. I gladly paid $20 to have someone else do it and give me a warranty on it.
Invisible Shield. Check out your local mall.

Warning about ATT's new screen protector for captivate...it SUCKS!!

So when I bought my captivate I bought the ATT screen protector and it was very nice.
If I were to leave a mark due to hitting with my nail on the screen, the mark will slowly disappear back to normal. It was also full size all the way to the home button etc.
After many months I decided to replace it as it was coming off on the sides but the quality was still great.
Well, first red flag was that the new version is no longer full size. Only covers to the lower part of the actual display area but I was assured that it was the same material...
Yeah, same material my A$$! That thing sucks...it became a mess of horrible screen patterns like I was looking at some Nasa Mars photos or something.
I took it back and the bastards wanted to charge me $5 bucks to replace it again!
I express my deepest feeling in some not very forum appropiate wording and left.
Bought an invisi shield even though opinions are mixed about it and so far I love it.
Screen looks perfect with non of the horrible patterns I was getting with the ATT ****.
Just a warning.
Regards
Yeah, I'm using a invisishield

If you can find the original one (full lenght) you should be fine but if it is the small one run away from it. I couldnt take that more than a week.
The invisi-sheild is pretty good I had one and loved it, but I just replaced it with the ATT screen shield last week and mine comes all the way down and covers my buttons and is actually a pretty decent protector. Maybe they were out of stock and gave you one that 'works' for your phone. The rep did bring me the wrong one initially....
That's not good. I HATED my InisiSheild. The ATT screen protector was the only screen protector I've been able to stand.

Agree on the Zagg. It was absolutely terrible, but it was free, so I can't really complain. Anyway, I gave up on screen protectors altogether.
Screen protector? What's that? Lol. Seriously, I've never used one and I've dropped my phone face down on both gravel and pavement. My screen still looks brand new. I think screen protectors on these phones are just a waste of money, and I hate the idea of having another layer to distort the image.

All it takes is one grain of sand.
The old AT&T screen protectors are the best compromise I've found between the crystal clarity of running naked, and having at least some protection.

I don't know how you people keep saying after months of screen protectorless use, your phone looks brand new.
I went protectorless for a couple months, and after that short a period of time I picked up a few noticeable scratches. They aren't deep enough to be seen in use, but they are there.
I'll keep my screen protectors. Can't really tell the difference anyway.
You agree with a post that is stating the opposite of what you are saying? That is cool LOL
If you want the original At&t protectors, search for the brand Real Look. One of my packs from At&t had the Real Look branding on the stuff inside the pack. I also suggested Real Look to a buddy with an iPhone 4, and when he got his, it's the same great material.
I will never use another brand of screen protector as long as Real Look makes one for my phone.

I don't know if I just got a bad batch, but the ones I got from AT&T a few months ago suck. Really rainbow...y and they have the annoying hole for the proximity and light sensor.
Had my captivate since July of last year, 3 days before release. Never used a screen protector and when I wipe it off it looks like I just peeled the DONT TXT AND DRIVE thingy off. Guess I'm just lucky.

These are the Real Look screen protectors. I find that the rainbow effect disappears when the screen is on, so that is really not an issue. Also, I don't really think the cutout for the proximity sensor is that bad, it's a really small area that is barely noticeable, and I'm sure probably is there for a reason.
To me, the Real Look screen protectors have an unbeatable finish for keeping clean, smooth, and even scratch free. If you like the natural feel of gorilla glass, give them a shot, because these really do feel like the gorilla glass when they are clean. IMHO, they have the best scratch resistance of any crystal screen protector that I have ever used on any device. In the past I used matte screen protectors because I always hated scratches in glossy ones, but these have solved that problem.
I'm not trying to flame, I just think it's a bit unfair to be that nitpicky about a great product. Did you notice any of the positive qualities of these?
I dont know what brand it is but i use the screen protector that came with my otterbox. didnt use on on my first captivate, could definitely see some marks on screen, no problems with one in place.
I have also used Realook brand protectors. I thought they worked really well. The only reason you could tell I was using one was the horrible job I did installing it. They say they are washable and reusable, but after trading in my phone for a warranty issue I decided not to even try to reuse it. I just ordered a new one. $10 for 2 of em. I almost wasn't going to use one and I read a post from someone who says that he can see a bunch of microscopic scratches on the glass from keeping it in his pocket. The way I see it, I would rather cover it and not take any chances.

i didn't think it was possible. but i scratched the screen :/. not deep mostly cosmetic and no one else notices. BUT I DO! lol one of those things where once you notice it it doesn't go away. anyone else get one and know how to remove it?
Had one on my brand new screen out of the box. Deep scratch that was easily felt. Took it back cause there's no fixing it. Buy a new screen or send in for a CLNR?
Or if you're brave try some rubbing compound haha
Thus the reason I live with a screen protector on mine. I abuse my phones (unintentionally mind you), and the way my screen protector looks.. I'd be afraid to see what the actual screen would look like (not as bad I'm sure, but still enough to drive me nuts).
That said, you don't want to see the bezel and battery cover.. I can't wait to get the bezel replaced...a case is on my list.
Yea dude I hope that goes good for you!
I have an old TPU case without a screen protector, I have some I think I'm going to put it on. I got mine replaced first week because the black metal on the front bezel scratched off. couldn't believe it. Naturally this old TPU case doesn't cover that part of the phone LOL.
Maybe I should upgrade to the new TPU case, cheap and has the button cutout so it won't be a PITA to press anymore.
only problem is my phones s-off, rooted and running gingersense. i can unroot and revert back to stock. but i don't think there's s-on yet. so i guess i should call myself lucky that it's not too noticeable and get a screen protector? anyone have a screen protector that isn't like sticky feels like the og screen?
I got an awesome off ebay for $4. Feels and looks exactly like ghost armor but isn't sticky. Fingers slide as if it's not even there. No added glare either. I'll repost with the name. Came in a fancy envelope and everything. Very professional and highly recommended
Edit: its called NakedShield (or Naked Shield i guess). I've tried Sooo many screen protectors and for the money this one was the best. And since I do tint on cars for a living laying this thing on my phone was smooth as butter and nice and clean

i use an Invisi-Shield(that pricey crap Best Buy Mobile sells). i thought "why not" and had them put it on when i got this phone. the feel is slightly different, but it doesn't feel sticky and the screen is still very responsive(right on actually).
sometimes they put these things in the discount bin for like $5-$10 so it may be worth checking out. if you don't have a Best Buy Mobile in your area, the regular Best Buy sells them also.
Selll themmmm
I throw my phone around, keep it in my pocket near keys and such, and I've dropped my phone on pavement and some other hard surfaces from 4 ft or so, and most I've gotten is 2 dents on the aluminum bezel, I don't understand why your phones are scratching so easily :/

I believe that some "batches" of gorilla glass are not as protective as others. My wife and I both originally had Droid 2's (which also have gorilla glass). Mine had at least 20 scratches all over it within a week, and I keep mine in a pocket completely by itself, never anything else, not even paper. My wife just casually throws hers into her purse, with keys, hair clips, tons of sharp things several times a day, and hers doesn't have a single scratch on it.
Oh that's probably the case, I believed that my phone might've been different xD.

Careful buying screen protectors from Best Buy... back in the day, I bought a screen protector for my blackberry storm while on vacation. I got home and opened the box, and it was empty. Turns out they sold me the one that they were using on their in-store display model. I never got my money back
I thought I would repost in here, because I discovered something interesting. Apperently Gorilla glass is very tough to just about any kind of metal, including the material they make keys out of. However, it seems that its complete counter, is Tungsten. I have taken religious care of my Inc2 since I got it, just like I did with my Droid2 (also with Gorilla Glass). And up until last night, no scratches. However last night, I simply picked it up, glass side to my palm, with my ring hand. I have a Tungsten wedding ring, and sure enough, giant scratch all down the front now. I even experimented after with my wife's platinum ring, no scratches. So if you have a Tungsten ring, get an effing screen protector!!

It depends on how you achieved s-off. If you did it with AlphaRev's process, you can get s-on again by following these instructions. A little involved, but if you follow it to a T, it'll work:

Tungsten is one of the hardest metals, even more so than titanium, I'm not surprised at all that it scratched

Kind of surprising how easy it scratched though
Sent from my finally rooted Dinc 2
-_- i scratched the battery cover on the side. Wanna know how?? With sand that got trapped between the phone and the case i have (Seidio Active Case). Didn't get all the sand out of my pocket and didn't know sand got in.. now it haunts me every day even though im the only one who knows it. Anyone know if its possible to just go to a store and ask for a new battery cover for free? Lol.
Also.. i bought the phone from amazon not directly from verizon.

TriboScreen screen protector

After watching that video I had to support the company that made it cause it's a pretty clever system they've come up with. I don't even care for dry install protectors but I had to try it. The fact that not only do you get 2 screen protectors with each order, you get the mold or jig specific to your device which ensures a properly installed protector every time.
I ordered mine off eBay from a seller named icapsale-istt. The product ships from S.Korea...I bought mine on the 9th, late in the evening, it arrived today. Pretty damn fast shipping if you ask me, especially since they estimated it wouldn't get to me until between 6.26.12 - 7.10.12. Obviously I can't do a product review since I don't have my device yet but rest assured I will once I get it installed.
**Update 6.30.12**
Alright fellas, got it on...installation was as straight forward as the video shows except you do have to get some bubbles out. So before you take off the top layer make sure you use the squeegee to get them all out. Unfortunately I got a spec of dust right smack dab in the middle of my screen but it's not noticeable unless the screen is off so for now it stays. First thing I noticed was the rainbow effect on the protector when the screen is off...when it's on I don't see any abnormalities. The screen feels the same as if it were naked. It doesn't cover the whole screen for obvious reasons (beveled edge around the screen) but during normal useage you don't even realize it. No banding, no rainbow effect, very clear, doesn't seem to effect the display negatively at all. Touch sensitivity is no different than without the protector on. The only thing about this is the price, it's pricey. That being said, it's not head and shoulders better than any other dry install protector i've ever used so hard to justify the price unless you're a noob and that concerned with installing one that the included jig will make you rest that much better...or if you're like me and just wanted to support the company who came out with such a setup for their ingenuity.
Overall, it's a nice protector that will ensure proper placement everytime...if only it could prevent dust as well But the price will turn most off, especially for this type of protector considering most of this type are about a quarter of the price or less. There is no rubbery feel on the display and it looks just as beautiful as it did when it was naked. I give this product an 8/10 only because of the price, would have been a 9 otherwise.
If I was not getting a otterbox defender I would get this. I hate putting screen protectors on wrong and this makes it so you can't.
yeah let us know how well they work. I am interested in seeing some close up shots of it installed as well.
I just purchased one as well!
I'm currently in S.korea and the SS3 isn't even out here yet, I wonder if I can get these here.
It's probably a lot cheaper here (just look at the prices of SGP in Korea compared to the rest of the world).
And does the screen protector cover the whole glass area?

How did it go?
Just got this in yesterday. Took off my XtremeGuard, and these screen protectors are pretty crystal clear and nice.
One problem is their cut. Unless if you have a case, they do not cover the whole phone but for good reason. The phone is a bit curved near the ends so if the hard plastic stretched all the way out it would float and not stick at all.
These are also reusable. To reinstall or reapply I suggest getting a lint remover, peeling off one of the tapes and just sticking your screen protector on it. This way it will remove any dust and you can reapply it.
It also feels great, if you have sweaty or oily hands, this screen protector will accommodate you. Application was easy, I just had a difficult time due to my dogs shedding in the summer heat... they are leaving a lot of hair around.
Summary: I would recommend it. Shipping takes forever though, like 2 to 3 weeks.
I can't find them on ebay. Can you guys post a link?

Can you post a picture with your screen protector on? The video never really shows it up close.
i ordered two of these one for me and one for my dad, woulda been nice to know that you get 2 covers in one order and based on the picture only a tiny bit of the glass is not covered by the protector

how do the protectors feel on the phone? Does it feel like there's even a protector there? or is it just a smooth feeling?

Thanks given :good: Nah man, it feels good. When I first installed an XtremeGuard, as much as I like that protector, it was noticeably tackier than the naked screen. This protectors feels as if it is the naked screen. As for the rainbow thing, yep, exactly as you just said. but turn the phone on and look for the rainbows or any other display defect and you're gonna be hard pressed.

Well then im sold I was a bit nervous about ordering a protector off of ebay, but this review helps a lot. And as far as the rainbow thing, doesn't bother me if its only when the screen is off (not like there's anything to see when its off) haha

Well glad I can help you out a bit. I feel the same....although I was very worried when I seen the rainbow effect before I turned the screen on. I have 3 XtremeGuards in hand but i'm not putting them on unless this one needs to be replaced for some reason.

Thats a smart decision. Im gonna order the SGP nano protector just in case the tribo doesn't workout for some reason.
only thing im worried about is if the edges will lift up due to the screen being curved
