Malysian Hero please explain

Dear Expers of Hero my Hero has Asia rom 728 which is don't have market icon installed.
I have 2 quesions.
1st should I install market apk and keep this rom?
2nd is there any way to flash another original no touched rom WWE from this forum download section let say RUU_Hero_HTC_WWE_2.73.405.66_WWE_test_signed_NoDriver to this one as I tried with flasher it came it gaves error when chegking signature.
Please explain me if there is good way to do that to change WWE version and keep coming later updates on that version.

Google phones in certain areas of the world, mainly asia etc Do not have google apps installed.
Not sure why but it is the fact of the matter.
As far as I know the best thing you can do is install a custom rom with market included.
It doesn't matter what rom you install as you can always install a proper rom back anyway, and all official roms with do a full wipe of your phone.
So you can take the dive and go for any custom rom you want, it maeks no difference and will give you better perfomance (usually) and google apps.

You can get a custom rom the same version as you already have installed, unzip the img file using 7zip etc on your computer and copy the vendor.apk file to your memory card and install it using Astro file manager and see if that will does the trick and also you could install market enabler.

1. Do a nandroid backup for a clean original clean rom to keep as backup just incase.
2. i would recommend you if you wanna install 1.5 rom with sense.

gold card is the hard way.. it doesn't work for me
i recommend u download AMON_RA's recovery and "flashrec".
install flashrec and flash the recovery img to ur phone. the u can pump any rom u want includes WWE.

Hi limkoksoon actualy I did already what you sayd my phone has Amon ra's recovery and already I did backup of nand. so from now on if I put any update.zip to sdcard and using ra's revovery option I can flash to my phone? also WWE orignals are in exe format how I get out from there zip file to flash using ra's recovery method?

There are modified versions of those .exe in .zip format availiable if not on xda site then defiantely on htcpedia.com but I am sure they must be here on xda somewhere.

I don't need modified I need let say official WWE version to put on my Malasyan ASIA 728 phone is that possible or I only can use modified versions?

I meant modified only to the extent it has been made into a .zip that you can flash. Not that it has been changed.

Ok I found them not touched repacked zip with root and without thanks dude )) for htcpedia

I am also interested in one thing is ther any other way like changing SPL or maybe another way so we can us HTC RUU official flasher to flash WWE rom to my ASIA phone I mean not flash from recovery via card but use direct RUU flashig and not get error about region is wrong when checking signatures.

Yes, but you need to create a Goldcard to bypass the CID checks.

Ok can you give me link to tutorial where it shows how to make goldcard and what to do after that because now my phone have RA recovery and I can flash every rom from my card. I need to use RUU flasher and not get error in midddle thanks

One more question if I make goldcard and then use RUU flasher and flash my Malaysian 728 rom Hero with WWE rom let say 2.73.466 so after that my phone will be WWE region and I can flash back to this 466 rom as now I can to my 728 or any time I need to use GOLDCARD?

How to unroot in order to get updates from HTC

My phone is rooted and has s-off, the rom is the stock rom from HTC.

gold card is just a term. the step of creating it is here ..

RUU is the standard HTC rom.
The latest one is build 1.84.832

but the early version ( when i bought my DHD ) is build 1.32
you can do this step if you want to revert to build 1.32

please be aware that if you use build other than 1.32, you can't root. you will just stuck there (unless you downgrade back to 1.32)

He is only trying to unroot, not unbrand.
Just get a RUU that matches your current build number, and run it. Simple

Change from Chinese ROM to WWE?

Hello there,
Before posting this, I`ve tried to find the solution on the forum, but with no success, as far as I could see. I have a Chinese One X with:
1.26.708.2 software
2.6.39.4-g6b459dc kernel
1.1204.90.13 baseband.
I want to flash RUU_ENDEAVOR_U_ICS_40_HTC_Europe_1.26.401.2_Radio_1.1204.90.13_release_251208_signed.exe, but it says error (wrong CID, of course). I`ve rooted the phone via htcdev, installed recovery and SU, tried again to flash the same official ROM, but still error. It seems that CID is not changed or set to SUPER CID with this root procedure. how can I flash this ROM, if it`s safe, of course. I need this particular ROM because of the language packs that has inside, and I don`t want to put a custom ROM.
is there any way to change CID, or to repack the RUU to a file that can be flashed thru recovery? as i could se , the baseband from the phone and the RUU is the same, if is of any use.

You need "S-Off" for flashing any RUU. Without S-Off, no chance to flash this RUU.
So far, nothing available yet, to get "S-Off"...

ok, I`ll try to find the way to S-Off One X, I didn`t search for that
but what about flashing this WWE to a Chinese One X? will it be a problem, as it is in fact a downgrade?

Why dont you want to put a custom rom now that you have unlocked your phone anyways? Android revolution HD is like a stock one but it has some improvements to performance and languages for everybody. There is also a 1.26 stock rom from mike1986 just google it and you will find it. Install a custom rom with stock look and language for now, make a backup before and when there is S-OFF you can restore and do what ever you want

I can confirm that Android Revolution HD ROM from mike1986 has solved the problem, it has all the languages from WWE file!!!

my device version is 2.09
how to back to stock rom / unroot my device?

There are threads from that.
You can download the asia 2.09 RUU from the dev sectin's shipped ROM site but here is the link for it
You can download the recovery_signed from my thread
in the thread there are the steps needed.
If you are on custom kernel you will need the boot_signed.img, but that is extractable from the RUU

I have some app with rom, I can't delete them.
I don't find a stock rom with the same build, so can I install another rom with an older build like 2.26.401.3 ?

1st You must have unlocked bootloader of your device. Visit the http://www.htcdev.com/ website to do so.
2nd. Since the procedure will take some good time, you should have charged your device to have at least 60% of battery life left.

possibly you can.
but you need exact ruu as your original one.
like you can use eu 2.26 but it has to be your original ruu.
no brick i guess but i never tried this without bl-tool.because old ruu might not installed because of updated hboot version.so not sure it ll work or not.
but if you want just older version.
root your phone and install custom recovery.
then use bl-tool to lock ur bootloader and set supervision.
then make goldcard of your old ruu.
then put on sdcard and it ll flash that ruu and also remove your root & custom recovery(meaning factory reset state)

you can try.
i told you to root because without it you couldnt set your hboot version to supervision..so might ruu won't work.
anyways use gold card and try..good luck

why don't you root your phone and installed stock roms.like then you can remove as much system apps as you want.
