I know it has been asked alot but i have spent literally 7 hours straight trying to do this. I followed the guides and add the file to my sd card but when I open up boot loader it goes through the sd card and never loads that image. I would really appreciate some help as I have no idea why it is doing this! Thanks!
Edit: It always says no image when I know for a fact that there is a image in the .zip file

Just follow this and make sure you are putting the update on the SD card and not internal storage.

I even put the zip files in both sd card and internal just to make sure and I am still getting the same thing lol
How is your card formatted? Make sure it's a default FAT32 format. I have seen what you describe happen when I formatted the card as regular FAT.

Same problem here... use Fat32.
I also changed the allocation unit size to1024 to get it to work.

I was having this issue for a couple hours and your solution worked. Thanks man.
Edit: Damn, still no update prompt. Hopefully it will come soon and I won't have to use this stock, rootless rom for much longer.
Um you manually flash the ota. Then do the quick reroot. No waiting involved...wow lol.

Enough with the sarcasm. Obviously he's waiting for the official OTA so just cool down.
Another note: from what I understand as long as you receive notifications you only need to unroot when the OTA actually hits. Anyone else know more on this?

Hey, you're the douche that's known for his nerd rage on these forums? Correct? I Just read your post over in the other thread where you went completely off and wrote a novel to some kid because he didn't agree with you on what deserved to be in development or not.
Anyways yes ogre150, I was hoping that I would be able to download the official OTA.

Copy the .zip to your SD card. Re-boot into recovery and flash the zip. Search if you need more detailed "how to".
BTW: This is not the best forum... next time, Q&A Perhaps?

Np. With rom's and updates you are typically putting a zip file on the root of your sd card and flash from there once you are in recovery.

Well its better than assuming you're fully rooted and know how to navigate recovery and actually select the zip you should have in the root of your SD card. The point is that this kind of stuff is repeated all over the forum. It is better to read before posting.

There's an excellent tutorial by joeykrim on flashing your Evo, as well as a little primer on using adb. The process will be the same for just about any other ROM you want to try. Just be sure to backup, and look into ROM Manager on the market as well. It's pretty user friendly.

I am currently running SkyRaider3 RC3 with a radio 1.00.03.04.06 which has been modified to permit AP tether. How do I flash the newest 2.15.x radio? Just throw the .zip on the SD root and flash it in Clockwork? I am also S-OFF.
Thank you.
Go Here
Download the file in the first post. Place on root of sdcard, meaning /sdcard/. Reboot phone into hboot. It will automatically detect the update and ask if you would like to apply it. Select Yes and let the update commence.
This will take a very long time. Probably 10 min or so. DO NOT PULL YOUR BATTERY OR DO ANYTHING TO DISRUPT THE UPDATE. I suggest putting your phone down, and leaving it there till it's done.
Also, there is no such thing as a stupid question, your just trying to learn, although a search would have probably helped you out
Thank you for replying :]
Loaded that file onto the root of my SD card, restart into hboot, and while it detects the file, it says something about there being something wrong with the image. I can't read it very well - some messages scroll quickly, then disappear, leaving just the hboot menu. Tried redownloading twice and no difference. Strange.
I assume that I'm not supposed to extract anything from PB31IMG.zip?

Your sdcard has to be formatted FAT32. Back ur sdcard up to ur PC and reformat the whole card fat32. Then put all files back on and try again.

Here is a Mac thread discussing FAT32: http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?ac=375750
FAT32 is a format which works with both Macs and PCs - should be very easy is the consensus.
I haven't yet flashed the 2.15 radio - have been doing some bandwidth speed tests on my 1.x radio, and speeds seem very solid... not sure if I should bother with the flash after all...
This is very easy is you have S-OFF. just download the PB31IMG.zip file place on root of SD CARD and boot into HBOOT then follow the steps.

I updated my phone to DXLA1, the latest firmware in my region (Philippines), and am experiencing the same problem posted here. What I did was to downgrade the firmware to DXKL2... I hope Samsung gets to notice the bug and act on it right away.
Please tell me how dis you downgrade? Flashing through odin?
BTW, I got the same error again and I did a fat32 format, its all fine until now.

I've updated my galaxy y for ddla3 through gprs data and haven't face sd card prob. though previous updates ddla1 some how messed with go launcher and it asks permission to choose launcher every time apps are changed. by the way I like new phone answering interface its convenient.
also to mention that I did faced sd card prob with very first galaxy 3(ddxk) update and got corrected by using samsung sd card, my previous sd card(sandisk) got corrupted after update.
Lucky you.
Btw, the new phone answering interface was introduced in DDLA1 right?
No visible changes in this update

to all the xda users,
pl keep up informed bout whats new feature in the latest updated so that one can decide to update on the basis of utility, for example ddla3 used up good amount of space and automatically updated maps and gmail which should be users discretion. xda can help with such updates in advance and choosing the right updates.
thanks for the info
to everyone...
there is nothing like ddla3 update is some more faulty or anything... i have regularly updated my phone and currently running ddla3... no issues detected (atleast till now)... its just like other updates... there is only slightest chances for sd card bug to creep in... like it happened in earlier updates to some phones.
Alright guys, since no others who updated got the sd card issue, I edited the OP

Ok, that's OTA. You could try resetting the device via the pinhole. If that doesn't work then download the ICS leak (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1510706) and rename it to "update". After that, place it on your external sd card and boot into recovery.

Your sd card is fine. Your recovery seems to be corrupted. Do you still get the error after resetting it (via pinhole)?

Well I just upgraded from 3.2 gen 2 a few minutes ago. I posted here exactly what I did set by step and what happened. I even shot some pics and a little video with my little cannon powershot SD500. I will post the pics for instructional use later on.
I would suggest you try to verify the copy of the update you have as I did. Both before and after the copy to the SD card to ensure the copy ON the card IS the same.

It wouldnt hurt to try another SD card if you have one. I have heard people run into issues doing firmware upgrades with 32 GB SD cards before on A100.
Hey guys I'm in a bit of a pickle.. I've never flashed a ROM on the EVO 4G before. On the Epic 4G Touch I have many times.
Well, I wanted to flash this ROM http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1865660 and followed the instructions from Step 1. However since I partitioned my SD card and erased everything, I can't boot into anything to put the ROM back onto the SD card!
Is there another way?
I've already rooted my phone, have S-OFF, and I have a recovery.
You should be able to access your SD card through your recovery. Boot into your bootloader, go to recovery, plug your phone into PC, transfer your ROM to your phone and flash
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
Yes I went into the recovery and found an option called USB-MS toggle to put the ROM back onto the SD card. So I did that and I flashed it and followed the rest of the instructions.
Ah, this has been an adventure. Although I still find flashing and rooting easier on the E4GT, I think I'll get the hang of it. :good:
