It is Time (please imagine a sad song at this point)
My diamond will be replaced in a few weeks. Something that will probably happen to most of your devices.
The newer models do everything better and faster, they look better, last longer etc. As a poor lonesome cowboy it is riding towards the sunset.
However I feel that it would be a waste to let it gather dust in a drawer.
So I am looking for things to do with our diamonds.
The reason I started this thread in the rom section is because I am looking for roms or kitchens to use on these "second life" devices.
options are:
- mp3/mp4 player. An optimised rom for media playback.
- Navigation. Use your phone as a navigation device.
I am looking for fast-boot roms, that have minimal options enabled, but offer the possibility to run navigation or mediacenter software.
so what are your suggestions for:
Roms or kitchens?
what programs to use
other mods to your phone to make it work as a new device.
my own idea for navigation device:
big battery for longer life
cable for TMC reception
car holder with power connection
very light rom. radio, bluetooth, wifi might be disabled (depending on navigation software possibilities)
install TMC driver
install GPS driver (the one that recalculates your position to correct for lag)
install navigation software that supports TMC
install maps
autoboot navigation software
I am looking for your tips on ROM and navigation software that works best/fastest. using tomtom at the moment, but that does not fit the description
i did this with my old device, just download any of the 'light' ROM's. i had to dig waaaaaaaay back to find a WM6.1 without sense or Manila.
i just installed my iGo8 software and put it in the startup folder, now the device boots quickly. and goes straight into the nav program.
hope this helps you

Like earni said, just grab yozgatgs kitchen and remove all the things you don`t need and you will have a fast ROM and of course a lite ROM.
All the best!

I am looking into igo as navigation software.
I see that there are a lot of threads about problems getting it to work on a diamond. could you share how you were succesfull?
how fast does your device boot?

try McGuider Sygic navigation software!! It's nice, simple and has an easy-understanding interface with lot of features.
If you don't want to make your own ROM,you can download and upgrade your diamond with the gen.Y pxD-0 core version. It's only 36 mb and it hasn't got manila or something like that,it's a clean ROM....If you want, give it a try!
the gen.Y pxD-0 core version is nice, but it hasn't got quick gps. I've installed it from CAB, which I found in the Internet, but it doesn't work. Probably Diamond has special quick gps version.
I think i will go with igo, because that seems to support the TMC of the radio, with a special driver.
I think i want to add media playback support to the device.
so that would mean i need a good mediaplayer, and maybe a light weight icon launcher, so i do not have to use the windows startmenu.
what are ideas about these?
wow.. what a mean words.. "Old"
i think Diamond is not old enough for just 2 years only..

A good media player is Microfi Nitrogen, quick loading, nice UI, many alternative skins including some with big buttons which makes it easy to control when driving:
you can download it from code.google.com

Hi, everyone on the forum, I was wondering if you were having trouble making manilly2d work smoothly on your trinities. My trinity becomes relatively sluggish and free memory drops pretty soon. When trying to use gps software it locks, freezes etc. Same with Opera browser.
How are your Trinities handling great looking manilla2d?
Use one of the ROMs with Manila2D cooked into. Its far better than installing it afterwards.

I was wondering if we could get Manilla running faster converting Manila2D.exe (1MB) or its dlls into module...

ROMS with Manila cooked in work only slightly slower, not enough to bother me at all. I think it all depends on what 3rd party software you then install on top.
The trick is either finding a Manila ROM which more or less everything you need it already (like Ervius's ROMS) or naked ROMS which have only the minimum (like Chalid's ROMS).
Also, I recommend using Mpenguin14's "M2DC (Manilla 2D Customizer)" to get rid of the Manila tabs at that the bottom that you don't really need. This reduces memory consumption and therefore improves performance. Some cooks are putting it into their ROMS, but there is a cab you can download too: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=427392

Thanks for all the advice I allready noticed beter performance with album and audio player tab turned off but nevertheless it seems slower.

I gave up on manilla and htc home. The clock can be replaced by PDC, weather by spb weather(there's probably a lighter solution though), app launcher by the start menu(people usually don't use a wide variety of apps, start menu can list the latest which will do just fine), sms/mms/calendar/tasks by the respective native plugins.
All the other apps are cute but useless, like, you already have a speed dial on the phone app, as for media just launch the respective apps.
manilla on trinity
Hi, I am happily running chalid's rom with Manilla2d - meaning that it runs correctly but can become quite slow (for example, A2DP skips if i keep wifi or other programs in the background). The problem, in my opinion, is not Manilla but...our trinity. The low amount of RAM makes any program which is consuming memory running slowly and/or lacking responsiveness. Try Igo8, for example, and plan a long route...this is true beyond manilla, and the less memory you have free, the more sluggish it becomes...
I came to the empirical conclusion that TNYYNT Roms are faster simply since he is keeping memory consumption/allocation low, and this is why Chalid's 0.8 is faster than any other manilla2d i've tried. For example, i was not able to run tomtom efficiently on ervius' rom - but it ALMOST works correctly with chalid's (which is based on TNYYNT as you know).
My conclusion: upgrade to touch HD ! it is the obvious way to improve the trinity: better screen, better CPU, better RAM....
lately i been using PDAviet ROM .44 and the manila user interface is relly fast and pleasant to use - the only think that I'm craving for is more RAM in the device
All is well if one application is running but have a few open and the sistem will complain
One thing that I see with this ROM is that if you start a memory intensive application - like opera 9 or your tube or tom tom it will close the ManilaUI temporarly and restart it automatically when you close the application so everything runs fast - but only one thing at the time

Hi Pzucchel.
Thanks for your advice the other day on sd cards.
I have a new Kingston 4GB Micro SD (SDHC) Card coming tomorrow and going to reinstall Tomtom 6 onto it. Then I have to pick a ROM! I love the Manila 2D interface, have tried practically all of the current ROMS, but I can't have Tomtom letting me down.
When you say Tomtom ALMOST works on Chalid's, what happened? Did it come out of the program half way through a journey?
And on Ervius' Rom... were you not even able to start Tomtom?
Mattster.
I switched back to a non manilla2d rom and my trinity is flying again! Windows are opening fast and overall performance is better, igo 8 works without crashing. Manilla looks great but I'm gonna hold back for now! Bye all
64M Ram a problem, but here is a work around
pzucchel has raised the main issue- it's not the code, the ROM the M2D or iGO8. Our Trinity is only 64M RAM, and with operating system, if we have 25-27M free RAM we are lucky. Running M2D will normally eat up 10M or so more. With careful memory management it will not slow down our phone. however it will not allow to have M2D as a today plug-in and run iGO8...
Having M2D in the cooked ROM helps a bit as far as speed (not significant) but will not help in memory management. So that was the *****ing part of the post. now let's have a work around. It is not a solution- yet it will allow us to enjoy M2D and iGO8 without getting crazy, and without a need to reset the phone 7 times a day...
1. Install a naked ROM. Look for ones that allow 25M free RAM after installation. There are few of them. If they are naked+M2D and leave 20M free, it is good enough. Having M2D in the ROM means no M2D updates possible. Having M2D installed manually means lots of work and a bit slower performance- each one knows what's best for himself.
2. install SKTOOLS 4.4.1 (Buy it! it worth the investment). Optimize to maximum memory. Our good old trinity works fast enough even with this setup. Also- turn shadow services on to free RAM. Don't mess up with anything else there. We are after more free RAM ONLY !
3. Install mToday. It's a small nifty free tool, that allows the user to switch easy between today plug-ins. Set M2D on one screen, and iGO8 on the 2nd one. Assign a key for mToday so by a push of a button you can switch M2D off and get iGO8 plug in on... For the lazy ones I am attaching it.
4. Make sure the following lines are in your sys.txt in the IGO8 folder. I mean the one in main memory under program files, not the SD folder, although for recovery purposes, make them both identical:
[debug]
cache=2048
reserve_memory=1500000
[navigation]
sim_speed_factor=3
True- it still will not allow using TTS , but that is kind of pushing the limits of the phone. I could use TTS if I turn the phone off, kill 3G and GPRS, push no mail, etc. but after all if I wanted a GPS device only, I could have bought one..
5. For TomTom users- same thing - kill M2D using mToday and keep running it. I did not try TT7 but TT6 was very much an easy run on the trinity, before I moved to iGO8.
Special thanks to the cookers, current and the ones who left this forum, for their dedication, time spent for this community, and insight. I am merely a tester, and I hope this post will make some other trinity users happy campers.
Cheers
BigE

I have no problem running tomtom7 and igo8 with chalid's 0.8rom.
but before i run igo, i have to close all running apps first.
like bigE mentioned, invest in SKTools. It's a great utility. I have its "free ram" apps as one of my shortcut. i always run it bfore i run any gps apps.
iGO8 and M2D- is it really running together?
rockuman_ex,
Yes, iGO may seem to work with while M2D is on, but, is it really? Here are some observations:
1. Choose to calculate a 1,000 mile away destination when they both are on - even with SKTOOLS I am running out of memory for iGO.
2. Have them both run, and try answering a call at the same time. Even with 1.5M reserved for 'non iGO' use in the sys.txt - most likely phone will freeze.
I have no experience with TT7. I have abandoned TT for iGO because I am travelling to destinations I could not have maps for TT in the TT6 era. I have got spolied by iGO and can't go back to TT, although I have to admit TT is making more sense for the trinity. But like all of us- I want it all...
I regretfully think that in the near future I will go with another HTC phone, waiting for AT&T to offer the HD here in the US. I have spent around $700 for the trini about 18 months ago, no realizing 64M will kill me so quick. Oh well- that is what we call experience, learning from mistakes...

Although my Artemis shows 60 % free program memory, this ROM is still painfully slow.
i've download now n will try...
Thanks for the rom!
Like user above, runs very slow on the main menu but once in file explorer etc it's just as fast.
Time to upgrade the phone??
3rd wm 6.5 rom p3300
I have tried all 3 version of this ROM,
nice look but very very slow on my artemis.
today TITANIUM good, Honeyconbs slooooow other apll quite fast,
IGO8 breeze, tt7 slow.
I hope that some1 can make this fast than today.
it was lag & makes my phone hang... this ROM requires more RAM...
anyway thanks uploader... something new...
tested it for 20 minutes.
TOO SLOW on Artemis.
downloaded and tested for a day or so now
the titanium is better than in previous versions, seems to run smoothly and integrates well at last...good to see the clock finally making a propper appearance in there
also the first chance to play with the new honeycomb interface.
unfortunately the jury is still out on this one.
my view is that it's more of a hinderance than anything else at the moment.
This totally replaces the start menu. Click on the start button and you're taken straight into the honeycomb interface. I wasn't expecting this behaviour from it...i thought it would be more of a today plugin replacement or something, and if it's going to behave like this on new roms it needs to be
a)quick
and
b) easy for you to find your programs or settings that you want.
Personally i dont think it does this yet.
You can click and hold to bring any app into the "favourites" part of the comb, which means you can now "pin" your favourite apps...mcuh like your last used apps used to automatically appear at the top of the start menu.
Unfortunately i think finding anything more than you favourite 5 or 10 progs would quickly become a real pain in the ass.
let me give a quick random example
on a "classic" style rom, let say you want to go to the "SMS SETTINGS" app....you'll go to start , settings, hit the communications tab at the bootom and choose SMS SETTINGS
on this i'll go to start, straight into the honeycomb. From experience i know that it's not in here (which is good becuase this is now a looong page to look in) so i choose the SETTINGS cell. now all i can see is 7 cells and remember there are no tabs here anymore so this is ALL of your settings. I've got About, backlight, bluetooth, buttons , certification, and clocks and alarms. Anything else i have to start randomly scrolling and searching so i start moving downwards. Eventually find it on the 12th cell on the left That's 12 'Down clicks'. If i wanted WLAN SETTINGS or something i would have to do a lot more scrolling. Everything is alphabetically sorted which helps, but it's a 3 colum system and so you still need to read ALL of the available options and you need to know EXACTLY what that app is called (is it TOMTOM or NAVIGATION? Is it under T or N ? etc...you get the gist)
I hope they are still experimenting with this interface becuase i think it looks good and COULD, if done right, be a really nice feature for the WM6.5 system...but it still needs some fundamental work before it works well. Remember how, from the concept art, we through it would be a 2d scrolling 'intellingent' list...it's not. It's stricly up and down alphabetical.
I can't quite put my finger on what it IS that's wrong with it...but there is SOMETHING...it just takes too lonk to find what you need at the moment. Maybe it's just unfamiliarity and it'll all become clear after a few days use, after all i've had 5 years of experience with the old system...the same as lots of people switch vista and XP's interface into win2k mode becuase they know where everything is. I always plead with those gus to stick with it and learn the newer systems becuase they usually DO make sense....but this time i cant see it yet
The new lock mechanism also needs some work. they've obviously tried to emulate a slide-to-unlock mechanism without making it TOO similar to the iphone....unfortunately this means that you get the small blue slider we've all seen on the screenshots at the top-center of the screen and sliding it 1cm or 2 to either the left or right unnlocks. I personally think this gives too much scope for accidental unlocking. I mentioned in another thread a while back about how a "shake to unlock" feature would be self defeating. the point of a lock is to make sure that when the phone wakes up becuase of incomming texts or whatever the phone doesnt totally wake up and end up accidentally resetting all of your calendar appointements or calling people while it's in your pocket....you need it to be HARD to unlock accidentally, but not hard to unlock intentionally. The balance is not quite right here either, same as the honeycomb.
it's still in beta and hopefully the whole thing just needs those last few "tweaks" to the functionality and ergonomics before it too "makes sense" but right now i'm more than willing to switch back to dhee's last manilla rom....it's just easier to use. I hope i'm right and that this rom is in BETA for both reliabiliy AND functionality reasons.
theres a lot of potential, but it isn't there yet.
these comments are ALL down to the mew 6.5 system, NOT dhee's rom, which seems to have done everything it can with what it's been given. Considering the clumsyness of the new interface etc this is as good as i could hope for a 6.5 beta rom to be, and i will install his next rom without ANY hesitation.
for anyone wanting to try the new features out, this is the rom to go for, but i wouldn't blame anyone for not keeping it for too long
thanks again dhee for a great rom, i just hope you get an improved system to pass on to us next. I'll probably leave this one for another day or so to see if it grows on me, jstu like i gave XP and vista's new interfaces a chance.

This one is not from dheewatara, and was one of the first roms to include WM6.5.
So far DJ M2D WM6.5 5.0 UL is the quickest and smoothest.
i found DJ M2D WM6.5 5.0 UL to be the same speed as the 2nd rom with M2D from dheewatara, but dheewatara's rom has the newer camera version (with panorama mode) and a slightly newer rom version if i remember correctly. I'm sticking with that one for now

Hi ppl,
All the links give error .... not found....
Can someone give me a positive link?
Hi any re-uploaded links?
Thanks
Hey there,
right now I am thinking about getting a new device and there are some questions that keep me awake at night.
1. Are there any news or rumors about the following model of the Touch Pro 2 ?
1.1 When do you expect the follower model of the TP2?
2. As far as I know from going through the respective threads, there is no possibility yet to get BlackBerry Messenger working on the TP2. Is that just a matter of (a bit of) time, or does this require some hardware/server/technical changes from BlackBerry?
Since in (most) German mobile phone stores the devices on display are not working (you can't switch em on), I wanted to ask about the performance of the TP 2.
3. Is the (outdated?) 528 Mhz processor of the TP2 capable of running smooth 3D user interface operations (I think it's called Manila) on the org. WM6.5 ROM?
3.1 While the TP2 comes with the standard WM6.1 ROM, would you recommend to switch to the org. WM6.5 ROM or are there any cooked ROMs which are not too much about customizing, but optimizing performance or overclocking?
4. I couldnt find anything about that on the HTC website, but does the org. WM6.5 ROM include apps like Facebook, Twitter, etc.?
4.1 Does the org. WM6.5 ROM for the Touch Pro 2 include HTC Sense, or more like: does it have the same user interface and functions as the Touch HD2 ROM? And if not, is there any cooked ROM for the TP2 that has all (or some of) those functions and is it working properly/smoothly? (just asking because the HD2 runs on a twice-as-fast 1 Ghz processor).
5. If you have time and feel like answering this: Are there any Apps for the TP2 that make or life easier, increase the performance, simplify the handling, etc.?
I would really appreciate some help on these questions.
Thanks a lot in advance for your answers.
an answer to only some of those questions would be helpful already
1. Here's a page with the supposed HTC roadmap for devices of 2010. Keep in mind these are leaked files; the phones might not be released, or there might be phones that are not on the list that could launch this year.
The last phone mentioned is the HTC Tera. This seems to be a more powerful (600Mhz CPU), yet downgraded TP2 (check out some of the mentioned specs, and look at the picture of the more inferior keyboard). IMO, I don't think it's worth waiting for this!
3. I don't have, nor have I ever tried, the official HTC-released WM6.5 ROM. I'm using a beta-ROM of WM6.5.5, which has the Start button at the bottom left of the screen. The processor is "outdated," especially since it was present on the original HTC TP1 (Raphael).
I have tried the stock-carrier-ROM with WM6.5 and Manila 2.1 for T-Mobile USA (HTC's ROM is also WM6.5 with Manila 2.1) and the Manila UI (the screens with the slider/tabs at the bottom of the screen) was fast.
3.1 Some people prefer not to switch to WM6.5 as it uses more program memory to process all of the graphical changes.
If you look for ark666's Rhodium_AF ROMs in the ROMs section, you might find they look very "stock-ish" but run efficiently.
4. I believe there is Facebook integration in the ROM. Otherwise, you could go into the new WM Marketplace on the TP2 and download the Facebook App for free. Likewise (I think) for Twitter.
4.1 The HTC ROM comes with Manila (aka Sense) 2.1. Sense 2.1 looks something like this (of course, there will be some visual differences, as this is customized).
Sense2.5 is currently official to run only on the HTC HD2. XDA-Developer ROM chefs, however, have ported this to many other HTC devices. Sense 2.5 looks like this. These are usually a little laggier, but not too much. I've loved these "'Leo' ROMs for Rhodium" for 4 months now.
5. There are many apps out there! You would definitely want to have Advanced Configuration Tool as it contains many tweaks.
Here's where you can get apps: 1800PocketPC, WM6software, freewarepocketpc, the WM Marketplace on the WM6.5 (though there's a download to get it on WM6.1) update, XDA-Developers (via searching). You will notice many apps can be found in any -- if not all -- of the links. There are many people who upload the same software on different websites.
Thanks heaps sumflipnol!
1. I totally agree, the HTC Tera (as of todays available information) doesnt seem to be worth waitnig for.
3. & 3.1. You said ark666's Rhodium_AF Roms are WM6.1 and run efficiently. So I found this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=552821 As far as I understand, he is offering 2 versions: 21889 as WM6.1 and 23518 which is the WM6.5 version with Manila 2.5 (looks like that in the youtube video he posted). Are both version working smoothly/efficiently?
4. & 4.1. I took a look at the Energy "Leo" ROM and it looked very nice. What I really like about Manila 2.5 is the bigger buttons which makes it easier to navigate with fingers. But what are the differences to ark666's 23518 ROM?
What I would appreciate is a smoothly running ROM with Manila 2.5 (the bigger buttons). So I dont know which would be the better choice. ark666's 23518 ROM or Energy "Leo"'s?
5. Thanks a lot for that. I saw a bunch of useful Apps on those sites. However there are 2 Apps I would really like to have:
A. WMWifiRouter (which turns you phone into a regular Router so you can connect your laptop via wireless and have mobile internet), but the website (http://www.wmwifirouter.com) doesn't say whether it's working for WM6.1/6.5 or not.
B. An App which I dont know the name of, but I know it is available for Iphone. With this App you can let your phone record a few seconds of a song (maybe while driving and listening to the radio) and then it searches online for the Artist and Title of the song.
If anyone knows anything regarding question 2 (BlackBerry Messenger), it would be much appreciated, since most of my contacts have BlackBerrys.

I'm afraid I can't help you with the BB questions, but I've got some other stuff that might be useful...
WMWifiRouter should work for you in 6.1/6.5. They have a time-limited trial version so you can give it a test drive first, I've attached the cab below. However, there's also a free solution available here on xda that may be adequate for you, it's called HTC CM Wifi Internet Sharing, details on THIS THREAD. Try 'em both out and see what you prefer...the free one works just fine for me!
The music app you're thinking of is probably Shazam, and it's available in the windows marketplace. There's also at least one other app that claims to do the same thing, but I think Shazam is the more mature and widespread app.

3. & 3.1. Sorry! I meant ark666's ROMs are all WM6.5, but they look close to a stock ROM, and run as efficiently as WM6.1 (so I've been told)!
Build 21889 is WM6.5, which [still] has the Start button at the top-left corner.
Builds with 23xxx, 24xxx, 28xxx are WM6.5.X (X being either 3 or 5). These have the Start button at the bottom-left of the screen, as you can see in the Sense2.1 link I had in my previous post.
Based on that info ^^^ ark666's ROM, WM6.5 with Sense 2.5 is here. While his WM6.5.5 with Sense 2.5 is here. I have yet to try these newly released ROMs, so I cannot comment on them.
4 & 4.1. You can't really notice differences in WM builds, especially since the chefs usually enhance it more. The EnergyROMs are highly customized and have many apps and tweaks already built-in whereas Rhodium_AF ROMs, like I said, are close to stock. The flashing process is very easy and shouldn't take that long, so you should try these ROMs.
However, now that you're asking about the EnergyROMs, you should also check out agent_47's ValkyrieROMs. These are sort of "in the middle" of the EnergyROMs and Rhodium_AF ROMs.
5b. Shazam is okay, but I really use/prefer Midomi (attached).
Hey,...
...sorry to push this thread to the top.
Just a quick question: I just got my new TP2 and saw, that on the back cover, there is no protection glass over the camera. It is just a whole. Is that normal?
I'm just wondering, because thats the first time is see this on a HTC device. I mean it's kinda unconvenient, since dust can get underneath the back cover easily.
**push**
Yes, that's normal.
Hello EveryOne!
I'm here since some weeks now, to look, try and improve everything. This, in order to build a final version of my HTC Blackstone in perfect accordance with my demands.
I mean:
Look, Speed, DailyUse, No Freeze, No Bugs, whatever the program I use. And I won, got the perfect one!
Please see here under:
A) Look:
Screens are in attachment...
Well it is sober, but that's what I like. My Htc BlackStone looks what it is: a BlackStone.
Sometimes, when I see what people ask here to developpers, I laugh and think: "Oh Gosh! Why don't they ask for a washmachine in their cell-phone too?".
B) Rom WM 6.1 Manila 2.1, and Radio:
The ROM is - HTC_Touch_HD_MR_2009_RUU_BlackStone_HTC_FRA_1.56.406.1
and the Radio - Radio_52.62.25.34_1.13.25.24
Why these ROM and Radio? Because they are the official of HTC, much easier for me to customize than some beautiful cooked I found and tried here, as Miri's, Dutty's, KWbr's or Panoshka's.
I tried other official versions, and I honestly don't see a meaningful difference, except that some added programs couldn't work properly.
I think the most simple it is, the best it works... So, even if mixing WN 6.1 with Sense 2.5, or WM 6.5 with Manila 2.1 works, the result seem to me too complicate. As well, making deep changes increase risk of instability, bugs, especially by adding other third party programs.
In fact, if you are developper yourself, you know what you do, then you can fix problems. But if you're not, then it's better to stay on one's level, without pretention or arrogance, and just try to customize with simple things...
C) Added programs, (IN THIS ORDER, laughing!):
01-BS_Rilphone_1_13_25_24.cab
02-NETCFv35.wm.armv4i.cab
03-Tnyynt SD TuneUP.cab
04-IPC_Black_Calculator.cab
05-Black Dialer EN.cab
06-Whiteglow Transparant Clock.cab
07-Glass icons.cab
08-Dutty's NoTopCurtain.cab
09-Diamond_TF3D_Config_Setup.cab
10-HD Tweak 0.5.4_French.cab
11-Celogeek_tweak_20080808.cab
12-mUn background4allpages.cab
13-HushSMS-v0.6beta.CAB
14-ACR Version 1.2.4.CAB
15-Express News 1.0.39.cab
16-DeluxeMoon.cab
17-BattLog0.2.3.130.zip
18-CorePlayer v1.3.6 Build-7427 for PPC.cab
All those programs can be found on the site, except for item 15-Express News and 18-Core player, I found on the websites using "search".
D) My comments:
Well, today, a cellphone can be use for quite everything: as GPS, Radar detector, remote control or...phonecalls!
Mine is fast, stable, safe, and does what I want efficiently:
Phonecalls, contacts, texts, mails, news, websurf, meteo, pictures, movies, music, FM Radio, and the Moon for fun...
I don't need more, and with this config, it is a rocket as fast as the new phones i tried: Iphone4, HTC Desire or Samsung Galaxy S.
I was about to buy a new one of these, to be "up to date", but I don't see the utility anymore!
A good config on a Blackstone is a MUST.
Best regards,
BobbyTrash
Ps: To perfect this look, I was looking for a ".cab" to make Topbar and Bottombar transparent, I didn't found it here. Some cooked ROM do it, perhaps a developper can provide such a cab...
In an other way, a short program allowing to rename and link easely unused tabs, would be useful too, whatever the ROM or kitchen...
mate you haven't cooked a Rom, your just tweeking
Yes, absolutely..
I just did it for people who search for simple customisation, more than for a cook...
I thought it was clear in my post, though! Thanks for your answer.
Bobby
probably should be moved to the themes and apps section
You're right...
How to do that?
Regards,
Bobby
Only mods can move threads
MOD EDIT - Thread moved to Themes & Apps section..........and renamed

does it work in wm6.1? because i asked it here because the rom in this thread is wm6.1
maybe you can ask on that thread, coz im using WM6.5x..
Hi all,
since I got myself one of those shiny new WP7 I was thinking what I should do with my loved Trinity. I am thinking of using it as a car navigation only for now (since there is no offline WP7 navi soft out there yett). So no phone, data, manilla or whatever needed just the navigation software. Since I always liked the resource hungry igo8 I would like to know if someone has a hint which ROM I should use best. I was thinking of a clean 6.0/6.1 ROM.
Another question would be if there is a way to have igo8 (or whatever other navi software) start right away after turning the phone on?
Thnks for any hints!
I'm not sure about the cleanest ROM. I see mentioned in some topics that tomme45i WM6.1 has a lot of free memory so it should load less stuff or have the plugins more optimized.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=551424
But maybe a better one would be the official WM6 Dopod ROM launched for Trinity. That one shouldn't have a lot of stuff and on the settings you can always disable the stuff that appears on the home screen (messages, appointments, clock, etc) to make it even faster.
About the startup, at least on WM6.5 ROMs you just need to copy the program shortcut from /windows/start menu/programs/iGo to /windows/StartUp/iGo .
Thanks alot for pointing me in the right direction! Going to test those you mentioned
Works like a charm
