Would it be as simple as downloading the APKs and uploading them for you?

Im not sure, its worth a try. In particular the only apps i want to get are skype mobile and backup assistant. But anything is fine, i am curious to see if it will just install or if some modding is needed.

Wait, you flashed a N1 ROM to your DInc? I didn't think that was possible! Is it a Froyo Rom? How is the performance?

Yea! LOL. I'm running yetirom 2.1. You can find it here on the forums and I must say I love it. It is the stock rom of the nexus one and its 2.1. The performance is a bit better but I do not think it is optimized as the unrevolved rom was a bit faster. That's why I am trying to get the vzw apps. On the n1 the Verizon section of the market is a downloads button.

You'll need to change some stuff in the build.prop in order to get the VZW market working.

Thanks for the reply... Care to elaborate on the build.prop file? where is it located and how would i go about editing it?

HTC Sense Clock/Weather Widget apk

Anyone have the one that comes for evo? I did a search but can only find N1 or Hero ones, don't wanna install that on my evo for fear that it might mess things up.
edit: just tried installing it and it said it could not install soo ya.. defintly need one that comes with the evo..
It's odex'd, so unless you are rooted and can push with ADB you aren't going to be able to install it. Both the apk and odex are in the rar. Even then, I don't know if it will work without a proper install.
i hate to show my inexperience, but could someone explain how i would push this?
Also, is there a way get this to work with a "senseless" rom?
Push???

Do you mean a ROM where you removed sense or an AOSP Rom?
If you just removed sense, it should work.
If you have an AOSP ROM, you can't use it, but the market has some similar apps.

[Help] Assembling the most recent/useful GAPPS

Many of the new features in the google's voice search require updated/specific google apps. I know the voice command to "set alarm" requires the googledeskclock found in the leaked G2 rom WHEREAS the "note to self" command only works with Gmail 2.2 and not 2.2.1.
I mostly use CM6 and would love to create a frankenGAPPS for myself.
Where do you guys think is the best place to look for the freshest Google Apps?
Is it better to scavenge in:
Leaked system dumps of phones not released (G2)
System dumps for brand new phones. (Fascinate -if it wasn't Binged out-)
Leaked system dumps for the Nexus1 (FRG33)
I thought the files in the FRG33 would be the most recent but they were all a lot smaller then what I found in the G2 dump. I know bigger doesn't necessarily mean better, but from my experience it usually is newer.
I monitor the 911HTC rss for new roms but this is only one manufacturer. Do you guys know of any other sites that post leaked/official roms?
Here's a leaked System Dump from the HTC Ace (Desire HD). What can we use?

FRG33 is an AOSP ROM. Sense is a lot larger though.

People throw the term aosp around a lot.
FRG33 is a test build. It is NOT aosp.
911HTC just posted an RUU for the Lexikon.
Is there a way to extract the update.zip without the actual phone?
Yeah, because it doesn't check for the phone connection until after expanding everything into the user's temp folder.
I just can't figure out how to get the file downloaded on that site. I click the link and it takes me to u.115.com, and the site is in... Chinese according to Google.
... wait, I think it wants me to use IE...
let me bring up a VM and see...
Edit: Yeah, I think that's it... But it wants me to install some custom software to do the download? Yes.
Bloody hell, I can't read this at all, but it seems to be coming down... slowly.
Edit #2: Well, that took a while, but it worked.

Can you please post the .img or update.zip?
Sure. It's uploading now. I'll edit this post with a link when it's done.
The .exe is available at shipped-roms.com (Linky) now too. Same SHA1 as the link you'd posted earlier.

How Do I Flash Apks?

I want to flash the "Stock Messaging App" from the "Sidekick 4G Stock Rom". Can I flash this? I really like the UI of the messaging app, and I would love to use it on my phone. Considering it is a apk in general, I'm still unsure because it runs on a different framework. Can someone help me with these questions. Is it possible to flash it? Can someone help me?
Phone: T-Mobile G2 - HTC Desire Z
System: MIUI 1.9.23 by OsiMood
Flashed: Extended Setting and Superuser Beta 3.0
Thanks you guys! I expect good answers considering XDA-Developers is the best place for these types of questions!

Hmm, not sure if this would work. I haven't flashed apps from other phones, but I guess you could make nandroid backup and then sideload it. If it starts freaking out, just restore your nandroid. My guess is that the app will just force close on you.

Don't think it'll work like you said different frameworks. If they were the same you could just copy the .apk to your G2, and open it with a file explorer and install.
Since they're different theres some converting to do I'm sure...

[REQ] DioPen Chinese IME.apk for Samsung Galaxy Ace

Hi,
I recently flashed my device from the Asian firmware to European firmware. After flashing, i realized that the DioPen Chinese IME is not available as it was available in my device when I first bought it. Is there anyway that I can re-install the input again into the device.
I had try using many 3rd party application in the market, but none of them satisfied me yet. If there is the way to re-install the DioPen Chinese IME, I would be happy..
Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks.
Im not sure if this will work for you but here, I've extracted DioPenChineseIME.apk from a DXKPB stock firmware. I think you can install it just like a regular app.
Hope it helps.

I am able to install it, but i believe that is some missing file due to the keyboard is not popping up after enabling. Instead it crashed, and enter the "force closed" mode..
Maybe you can't install it like a regular app. By which I have no idea myself how to. The app in the market works well too though, tried before since I used em before

Missing apps in ICS play store

I upgraded my A100 to stock ICS ROM Acer_AV041_A100_1.012.00_WW_GEN1.zip and found many apps are missing from Play Store. If I download them from app store website in browser, it says "incompatible with your device".
Does anyone knows why and is there a solution to this issue?
Thanks a lot!

Did you happen to have a modded build.prop prior to upgrading to the stock ics? By the way .012 is not the stock (if i'm not mistaken) its the last leak prior to the stock....014 IS THE stock...

Thanks for the reply.
I didn't do anything special on build.prop before to .012 rom.
I just flashed to Acer_AV041_A100_1.014.00_WW_GEN1 but the problem (missing apps) still exists.
One example of missing apps is ireader (full version). I can only see ireader (offline). From the other tablet (Nook Color CM9), I can see both versions of ireader.
I also tried to edit build.prop as suggested in this forum to mimic my A100 as A500 in Play Store (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1525964), still no luck.
Can anyone help me out? There are many apps I use heavily but cannot load onto A100.
Thanks
Tom Wang
Development?
I'm pretty sure thi isn't development... Sounds alot like a question that needs an answer. If you want to get a better response, you might want to delete this thread and re-post in the correct forum. Also when you get some time, drop by and read forum rules... Jus sayin'

Pretty much correct, dev is for releases of some sort, not questions. Buuuuut since its already here may as well pitch in lol.
Modded build.prop is most common way around it, but you can also side load apps from other sources and install from SD or adb.
