I've been out of the loop for a lil bit now and came back and you guys have moved FAAAAAR forward. Further than I can possibly catch up/figure out in a couple of days. So I figured I'd ask for help.
What do I need to do to stay updated?
Here are my stats:
Firmware version: 2.1
Baseband version: 1.39.00.05.31
Kernel version: 2.6.29-a2443432 (next line) [email protected] #1
Build number: BuglessBeast v0.3 Beta (I actually like this ROM a lot so I will keep this UNLESS needed to change.)
Software number: 1.32.651.6
Browser version: Webkit 3.1
PRI Version: 1.34_003
PRL Version: 01337 (I'm using the TechKnowFile's trick)
nothing, of you like buglessbeast then stay otop of that thread. there was a ota update that kicked people out of root, and some other things im sure, but until buglesspete puts a new version out, wait.
or jump on another rom.

So I've been messing around with my phone and when I tried to update the radios yesterday it seems to have had a negative effect on everything. Here's what my software says. Does something seem amiss?

I've messed with the TMartinPPC_EvoGingerSense_v0.1 update that was recently put out and I've had a couple issues, mainly the voicemail icon that won't go away, and I noticed this morning that my camera wasn't working.
Flashed a backup back to 2.2 but in between I updated the radios. It also seems to take the phone a few minutes when I switch it to Disk Drive to show up on the computer.
Any suggestions?
Either update your software from 3.29 to 3.70 or downgrade your radio from 11.19 to 09.01. To save time, go to the following address and then download the ODEXED version of the 3.70 rom. It is the latest official Sprint EVO rom and should set you straight. No, you wont lose root. Just make sure you go into recovery and do a complete wipe before flashing and yes, make a nandroid backup first.

Thanks, I will give it a shot. Would something like this be a good starting point?

Yes, that will work, but unless you plan on changing themes and mods, I recommend the ODEXED version. When you replied, I was editing my original post...lol

Ok, downloading both at the moment. I just want it to be stable until a good 2.3 ROM comes out.
I understand, my friend. If you get tired of the stock look but still want to maintain speed and stability, give Myn's Warm TwoPointTwo RLS5 a try. It is Sense-based. If you want a clean, fast and stable AOSP rom, I recommend Salvage-Mod 1.2.1 with the Tiamat 3.3.7 kernel and LauncherPro. It is a very solid 2.3.3 rom. Anyway, take care and enjoy the rest of your day....

Ok here's where I stand as of yesterday. Things seem to be better. Had to downgrade CWM to be able to install the 3.7 ROM, but that wasn't too bad.

Noticed something quirky lately. When I get online via browser or whatnot (last night I was trying to stream music) it seems to take 5-10 seconds before everything kicks in. I was using an app to look for songs to stream and every search would take what seemed like 10 seconds or so before the search would commence. I also have noticed it on the browser too. Any ideas?
I have a Samsung Epic,

Go to the development section and open the thread about returning to stock. Then follow the directions.
sooooooooooooo i just got my evo today (from the sprint store) and have been doing some reading about rooting. i went to a wiki and saw that the current build can't be rooted yet. in my device information it says i have build number 4.22.651.2. that can't be rooted yet right? I also would like to know where the best place is to start learning about rooting and roms and everything (kernals and everything i need to know so I don't mess this bad boy up). I used to have a TP2 that I knew how to flash but this is a totally different ball game. thanks in advance for the help. everybody at xda is and has always been great and very helpful.
Go to the forum portal page and look for the android section and go to chef central

Any Sense 3.5 ROM I flash I get the ghost voicemail notification. I did the Sprint Visual Voicemail installation restoring data only from titanium backup but that still didn't get rid of that damn notification. None of the Sense 3.0 ROMs do this. Can somebody please tell me why I get this with Sense 3.5 ROMs??
Solution!

I got rid of the blasted notification by calling Sprint to reset my VM. Bada bing, bada boom it's gone!!
Anyone who is having the same issue, I advise you do the same thing. Restore your phone to a rooted stock state and call Sprint so they could reset your VM.
Please hit the thanks button if I've helped you
What did you tell them to get them to reset your voicemail? and do you have to be on a stock rom?

Sorry for the extremely late response, but all I told them is that I finally decided to upgrade my phone's software to the gingerbread update and now get a false voicemail notification and if they can please reset my voicemail. Yes you must be on a stock ROM because they have you enter in EPST codes before pushing a reboot code on their end.
Also another solution, if this does not happen to work, is to activate an older Sprint phone (preferably the last phone you had if you still have it) and go through the whole voicemail setup. Delete ALL voicemails on your account if you have any saved. Then ask that they reactivate your EVO. That should do the trick aslo
Hello,
I have had my VZW M7 for about 1.5 years now and never got around to rooting it. It has been lagging quite a bit lately, so I think now is a good time to wipe it and start fresh. While I am at it, I figure I'll root and install a new ROM.
I have generally used CM on previous phones, but the last time I did this was a few years ago.
My question is: what would you recommend I use for overall stability, snappy performance, and a great UI? I have heard good things about GPE and at the moment that is the direction that I am leaning in.
Could you please point me towards threads that would get me started with the process?
Best Regards,
Glass
It depends on the current OS, bootloader, hoot versions of your phone. I'm assuming you have the latest OTA. If so Sunshine is I believe the only method to root. Post your current versions so others can help better please.
