Hi
I allmost allways use Phone Pad for text messaging and the Keyboard for Word documents. What I would like is to them assigned as default respectively, so that I don't have to change from one to the other everytime I open a different program. - Can it be done?
Regards
Søren
i believe wisbar advance 2 will help you to accomplish that. it has a feature that will change the SIP based on the title of the active program
good luck. let us know by posting your results here

Check out this app:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=271008&highlight=sipchange
Thanks for the answers. But there's still no solution to the problem: What I would like is to have the SIP change automaticly when I open a program. E.g. when I open any message program I want the Phone Pad; opening Note Pad the Transcriber, and Word the Keyboard.
I hope there's an ingenious programmer out there who can make, or has made, a small program that can do the job.
Regards
Søren
A very late reply: the requested functionality is impossible because several apps can be opened simultaneously and only one SIP can be 'active'.
Hello.
Firts of all sorry for my bad english.
I know that there is enough applications like this, but I've decided to write my own application, as a beginning for learn embeded C++ and mobile devices development. So, because this is my first app. in such domain, please don't punch me .
May be "power manager" sounds hard, this app. do exactly the same as per example psShotXP, namely:
- turn off the screen of Your device
- put the device in suspended mode
- soft reset the device
- turn off the device (HTC devs.).
- turn on/off wifi
- turn on/off phone module
- turn on/off bluetooth (make discoverable/invisible)
- switch phone bands Auto-2G-3G
You also can create 4 shortcuts to the program with parameters:
0 - turn off the screen of Your device
1 - put the device in suspended mode
2 - soft reset the device
3 - turn off the device.
4 - turn on/off phone module
5 - turn on/off wifi
6 - turn on/off bluetooth
You can change the images of backrounds button separator and buttons, they will be located in "Images" folder after install. With one restriction: now the buttons are black, so if you change the back of main program, consider this ...
Remarks: To close the main window you must tap anywhere outside the buttons or in space between buttons. Also to close additional windows tap the Close button or empty space of window.
P.S.
Discoverable/invisible mode for bluetooth is working on Microsoft stacks, on broadcom is to be developped (works just on/off bluetooth)
P.S. Supported screen resolutions: QVGA (240x320), Square (240x240), SquareQVGA (320x320), VGA(480x640), Square VGA (480x480), WVGA (480x800)
Regards.

Hi
Works fine on Touch Diamond 2. Thanks
I am myself a developer and I was looking for a way to shut down the device from a shortcut. With the keyword "PowerOffWarning" from you I finally found the solution.

Hello.
About "turn off". I've tested these only on my Touch HD, and i've used the functionality of this device owerOffWarning (when you long-press the power button). May be this will work on Diamond too, i do not have them...

I might be a good idea to add an explanation on how to do this
Thanks for the software. One of the file name in shortcut folder seems mispelling "standbay" instead of "standby".

Hi there, just copy the createt Shortcut SV*.lnk from /Windows/Startmenu/etc... into /Windows and rename it into "Long_Power.lnk". And thats it. Simply but powerfull.
Greats Tom
Hmmm i didn't do that. I copied the program into the windows directory and changed the name to poweroffwarning.exe and i had to copy the images folder too
Cuts the cleartype font out using this

Hi.
By "PowerOffWarning" I want to say, that when You long-press the power button on device it seems that a program PowerOffWarning.exe (wich You can find in \wndows dri.) is launched, and You can see the message box "Power will be turned off ...".
This is not my discovery, this is a standard HTC feature ... and a found it here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=424235 (middle of page) ...
That's all

Sorry, but ... why you are doing this ... You don't need to copy the program into windows, You can do this of course, but ... I think there is no need for ...
And about PowerOffWarning, I repeat that this is a HTC program, not mine, and if in \win. dir is no such file, the renaming of SVMPowerMgr to PowerOff will not help.
Regards.

Hi s. virtan
I've the following problem and i hope you can help me:
Your App is running great, but when i click on "turn off device" the screen stays on. For a half second the screen is black an returns to powermgr-menu.
Any idea what's the problem?
Ralfi.
Hi Virtan,
I have installed your software, but found the when I pressed and hold the power button for my Diamond 2, instead of showing the power off warning, your menu pop out. And if I uninstall your program, I cannot power off my device, because the program is looking for the SVM Power Mgr.exe.

If yes, the You should remove[rename] the Long_Power.lnk from \windows dir.
Sound strange Your situation, because the cab does nothing else, than copy the Svm Power Mgr to the program files, and a shortcut to program in \windows\start menu\programs, that's all, there is no other locations ...
TG01 -
Been searching for this all weekend. Thanks
All seems to work on the Toshiba TG01, apart from power off, popup stating unsupported device.

If I'm using a program which uses WIFI, after the 1 minute (adjustable) timeout, the program stops. Is there a way to have the WIFI connection continue if the program is still running? Is there a way to have a program clear the screen, but not go into standby mode ?
I somehow 'fixed' this issue with my old Tilt (via reading some posting), but I don't recall how.
Thanks

I'm sorry. it look like its my mistake.
the program that you can easy tweak the wifi to work in standby mode is
"WVGA TWEAK" (also known as HD tweak)
and there in the prog - 7. Wifi - theres the option which you need. just chooseee Enable
p.s. if you are using Energy Rom, you have already instaled that program
(in settings -tools -tweaks)
regards and sorry again
patzkata
Thanks - HD Tweak is not listed for the Rhodium / Tilt2 / Touch Pro-2, but the HTC Touch HD and HTC Touch HD2. Is it safe and usable?

For WiFi always ON - create this if you dont have it ..
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\BCMSDDHD1\Parms]
“HTCKeepWifiOnWhenUnattended”=dword:00000001:
but keep in mind that the battery will be drained very very fast !
excellent, thanks.
Hi everybody,
I was searching for a tool which toggles the radio, i.e. each time it starts it puts the radio on or off, the tool from VJVolubilis (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=255911) would be fine, but it also turns off the data connection, and doesn’t turn it on again, at least it behaves this way on my Acer F900.
The other tool I found has the same problem.
And now my question:
Can some give me a code sample how to switch on/ off the radio, maybe I can make the tool myself.
Please post me truly simple sample, otherwise I won’t understand it
Thanks in advance

Hi depp2web

Hi andrew,
thanks for your reply, but it has the same problem like the other tools, the data connection stays switched off.

Hi depp2web
I am by no means an expert but I think you might be able to achieve your objective with a Mortscript. There is a Mortscript examples thread so it's worth checking through that. Alternatively, look at the script options and see what you can put together.
Best wishes
andrew-in-woking
Hi Andrew,
I already thought about mortscript, but I would most likely end in a script which starts the comm. manager of the phone and simulates the mouse clicks, rather unsexy…
I’d like to have an “invisible” app, because I use it to switch off the radio while I’m still reading my newsletter in the browser (yes I’m very stingy on my battery), and I really don’t want some other apps to pop up at this time.
Try XroM_Switch with the parameter "phone" to toggle phone
forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=639003
Source code of Phone_Switch
Hi, thx for the next tool,
Well from what I see it will work (my cyrillic is really bad *haha*)
But when make a link with the phone parameter, it still shows the form, and no action is done
I modified the link to make it look like this:
38#"\Program Files\Zeugs\XroM_Switch.exe" phone
Any ideas what might be the problem?
Edit:
And thanks for the source code!
Your standalone program (in Phoneswitch.zip)
is exactly the app I was searching for, great job and thanks a lot
Have a nice weekend

Delete the Redirect key under the registry [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ControlPanel\Input]
same thing happened to me a week ago, took me 4 days, until I delete the Redirect key as mentioned above, and I got back my INPUT in SETTING!!
Good luck
Yea thats Microsoft hard at work. They are removing the Owner name, Input controls, and another one...
Even the owner name kills most applications since they base their software keys off of the owner name.

As you solved the Input problem for WM6.5 (Thanks a lot for that), maybe you have an idea why I don't see java icon under programs in WM6.1. When I try to install a java application, Esmertec appears (it seems java program is hidden somwhere) but java midlet is found somehow harmful or something and I get two option "Kill the midlet-or-NO". And my java applications cannot be installed successfully. I cannot install any other java program externally either. Any idea to solve the problem?
thanks +1 - touchpal uses it for registration and they have no idea as to an alternative method
