never gets a gps position anyone else seen this?
got it working had to remove from sd card and install to internal sd.. bummer because it wastes a lot of space
that's because of the file structure required.
yes but if it was the file structure i would have expected it to not run and not find the map but it ran and found the map but never got a gps signal..

so true.. as a side note it is really strange the way they addressed the internal memory and sd card
ie in case you havent figured it out the sd card is just a subdirectory of the internal memory
ie /sdcard is the internal memory
/sdcard/sd is th sd card
versus my older i8910 and n97 where the internal memory and sd cards are entirely separate disks..
very strange indeed
I had the same problem. Since I removed Sygic and re-instal it, it works great!

In linux (and in Unix systems in general) every device is represented in the file system as a folder..
In my case i had an sd card i removed from my X10 with Sygic installed on it and all i had to do to get it running on my 9000 was to install the .apk using the samsung file explorer .
For now it seems to be running perfectly and gps signal reception is fine.
Yesterday I received my Galaxy, and have no problem with Sygic, my GPS works
Guys, can you tell me the file structure of the Sygic deployment on the Galaxy S... do you put the three folders and the .apk file on to the root of the SD card, and then run the .apk setup to install it?
I have a problem where I cannot run the app becuase I cannot activate my maps, I am looking for a Device ID but cannot find one. I can find a Device Code but not sure if this is the same as the Device ID, and in any case the Device Code is blank.
Can anyone tell me if I'm doing in the install wrong so not getting a Device ID, or, is the Device ID differnt from the Device Code and in which case where do I find it?
Thanks

I have the same issue.. it show device code as "-" or "_". I have no problem generating the device code from the SD card thr but not the internal memory
It wont work from the internal memory. You need to copy the files to an external sd card. Take the card out of your phone and use a card reader to access it on your pc. Now run the sygic utility and it will copy everything you need to the sd card. Stick the card back into the phone and run the apk.

Sry for posting to this old thread, but this is a big probleme for me.
I put the files on my sd card and the internal memory. Same Problem. Sygic won`t get a GPS Signal. But when I start a other GPS program (+ sygic in the background) I can see that there is a fine Signal.... hmpf...
My Maps are accepted and everything is great, just this annoying problem...
On my Galaxy S work fine. Try disabling the gps from system settings, then start sygic and follow on screen tips.

I am using HTC P3600 with WM6. Every time I power off and on the device, start up TomTom, it will say 'No Map Found'. The only work around is to remove the SD card, do a soft reset, re-insert the SD card.
Is this a bug with WM6 or a bug with TomTom?
Can anyone shed some light here? Is there a solution??
Change ROMs!

After having tried most cooked WM6 ROMs over the past six months, I've noticed now and again that some do lose contact with the SD card.
I'd change ROMs and see if that fixes the problem.
Cheers!

hmm...i have ROM 3.00.707.17
i am a bit reluctant to upgrade to a new ROM just to test this out
Disable Bluetooth Explorer from Settings -> Connections -> Bluetooth -> Bluetooth FTP
It causes TomTom to think that the bluetooth folder is your storage card and tries to load map from there. Disabling it should do the trick.
hi
i would reformat youre sd card i had a same problem the map folder got corupted u may also find that u wount be able to remove folders or rename them the only way i could recover from this is to format the card
hope this helps
Try deleting the MSMETADATA
This happened to me in almost all roms. This is mostly accompanied by Mediaplayer loosed all songs in the memory card.
Try deleting MSMETADATA. It's a hidden folder in the memory card.
Please acknowledge.
I hope this helps.

if the map folder is corrupted in anyway, then i should the 'No Map found' error every time, correct? it should not only happen when i power on and off.
i'm using a 4gb SDHC(sandisk) with my trinity(wm6)
i found that the sd card corrupt very often with all roms.
tomtom cannot find map because sd card had corrupted.
just a soft reset can solve this problem.
i suppose wm6 do not support sdhc very well, or mybe my sd card is not good

disable bluetooth explorer seems to do the trick. Thanks everyone for all the help!!!
I think tomtom, WMP and other programs use the first drive found after FLASHDR.
If you have only SD, you should have FLASHDR and DSK1
No problem ...
If you enable the BT Explorer, you will have
FLASHDR and BTD1 and (the second optionnal drive ?) DSK1
If all programs class the "optionnal drive" by their name ... Does a rename of BTD1 to DSK2 can resolve the problem ? in this case, the DSK1 will be always SD and 2 the BT.

Does anyone know how to move my iGO folder to to Phone memory?I have enough space for it because I use oxygenr2 hboot and I have 337 mb free space on my phone.I would like to do this because I thing that my Sd Card make some problem and reboot my phone while I'm using iGO.Somewhere i saw that iGO crashing if sd card is not fast enough....that's why i want to move it and see the result.
Root explorer. Or any other file manager.
And IGO crashing if you have a slow SD? Strange.

I have try Root Explorer but when I move it iGO did not start."'Unable to find iGO directory files''.
Then it is not possible I'm afraid.
Ok thanks for the info
Hi, this might not be related to your problem, but:
- when I run igo on stock rom (2.2), cm7r2..., everything is ok (and I have used class 2 and also class 4 cards without any problems)
- when I flashed another rom (aurora 4.1, a2sd), moved dalvik cache to ext4 (because of lack of memory) and installed/run igo, system went monkeys - froze unexpectably (mostly during a call, sometimes after turning phone on froze on the home screen etc). I didn't find any other solution (so far) than moving to another rom (stock)...
I don't think the troublemaker is your sd card...try different rom and see...and let me know ;-)
You would need to write a script that runs at boot (/system/etc/init.d) to symlink its original location on SD card to wherever you have moved it to so iGo can see the files. You cant simply move them and expect that hardcoded location in teh application to change

I was in the process of beginning to move games from internal to sd memory. The thing is I didn't even mod files yet. I downloaded a program to move files but when I downloaded it the program said a system file needed to be patched. once done phone reset but when it came back on I Could not access my internal files. It shows up when connected via usb to compete but the phone folder is not selectable. my phone memry is filled just as it was before the patch all my apps on the phone are there, some are usable others such as google play wont open. please help
Can you reverse the patch? (Remove it). Flash a 4.3 TWz base ROM, native app2sd built in.

You are talking about the app FolderMount. I use it and I have no issues. Neither when i was on 4.2.2 nor 4.3. I would try again. Something else must be causing the issue.

They want game data and stuff stored on the external SD card. App2Sd only stores data. Not downloaded stuff. Like, for my maps app, all my maps are on the internal, no matter what i do, other than FolderMount, i cannot get them to the external SD and still work. Mainly because when an app looks for the sd card, it returns the internal directory.

Would be helpful if OP post what app he/she is using.

you're correct I'm referring to folder Mount and it's the cause of my issue. I downloaded it then opened it once open a message came up claiming I needed to patch a system file then reboot. After reboot my internal Memory was not accessible only apps and games but pictures and google play type apps wont open when trying to open I get a message saying google play or pictures stops when connected to computer I can see phone folder but wont allow me to click on it. when I boot into recovery I cannot Mount the internal sd card only my external card.
I tried doing the unmount trick, the one with the terminal. Still nothing
The "funny" thing is that I can install free apps without problem, but when I download Swype and Poweramp unlocker (which I bought) i keep getting this error
solutions?
Did you try a Link2SD?

Hello, I have flashed the JellyKat ROM v5 on my NoteII and got a new sd card (ADATA 32GB) from ebay, the card was sealed so I hope I wasn't cheated, but randomly I see these things in my DCIM folder and I can't write to the card and the phone seems to not read the media on it music photos everything, and I can't install any apps on it or update existing app or even create a folder through the default touchwiz My Files.
I tried to format the card on the PC but can only do quick format because it loads and loads and then say windows can't format this, I also formated it via the phone it worked for a while and then stopped working again, now I don't put a card in the phone.

Is there a way to fix the corrupted partitions on the other card?

Yup, I also faced that kind of problem before, simply run KitKat SD fix, grant root and let the app patch the platform.xml. Reboot and try again. It worked for me. :good:
Sorry for my English.
Is there any solution to install apps on the external SD card, not move, but install everything to the external SD card.
As in this tutorial: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3/development/mod-extsd2internalsd-v8increase-data-t1772234
Thank you all, I will use the translator, do not worry if they respond in English.
That seems to be for the international version of the galaxy s3 only. I've only read through the first few pages but he OP seems to be willing to help with other devices if you test for him. Post over there and see what he has to say. This has been an issue for a very long time and has been made even worse with the new restrictions permitting only gapps and some manufacturer apps write access to the sd cards that we purchased. At least there's a fairly easy way around the write problem, but installing to external sd is another matter altogether.
Might want to take a look at Xposed Framework. I think I saw a module in there to accomplish this. Root required.

I've looked for a solution to this question since I got the 8.4 a few weeks ago. To my knowledge nothing is available. With my Note 2 I used to use an app (root required) called GL to SD. It's still on the Play store, but it's just too inconsistent to rely upon. When it works, it's a great app but it just doesn't do so consistently.

Seems same problem as s duos! I wouldn't try this if I were you! I hate Samsung sometimes due to this reason... Try recovery script method... But this slows down your device.....
You can use an App like Foldermount (root) to trick folders location.
So your OBB or Android data directories can be mounted to the ext SD card.
From then, anything installed will be on the SDcard.

Another option might be to swap the internal and external sd cards. There are several links if you google it. Some work and some don't, so be careful. There is also this app in the Play Store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=eu.codlab.int2ext
