Sorry for my English.
Is there any solution to install apps on the external SD card, not move, but install everything to the external SD card.
As in this tutorial: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3/development/mod-extsd2internalsd-v8increase-data-t1772234
Thank you all, I will use the translator, do not worry if they respond in English.
That seems to be for the international version of the galaxy s3 only. I've only read through the first few pages but he OP seems to be willing to help with other devices if you test for him. Post over there and see what he has to say. This has been an issue for a very long time and has been made even worse with the new restrictions permitting only gapps and some manufacturer apps write access to the sd cards that we purchased. At least there's a fairly easy way around the write problem, but installing to external sd is another matter altogether.
Might want to take a look at Xposed Framework. I think I saw a module in there to accomplish this. Root required.

I've looked for a solution to this question since I got the 8.4 a few weeks ago. To my knowledge nothing is available. With my Note 2 I used to use an app (root required) called GL to SD. It's still on the Play store, but it's just too inconsistent to rely upon. When it works, it's a great app but it just doesn't do so consistently.

Seems same problem as s duos! I wouldn't try this if I were you! I hate Samsung sometimes due to this reason... Try recovery script method... But this slows down your device.....
You can use an App like Foldermount (root) to trick folders location.
So your OBB or Android data directories can be mounted to the ext SD card.
From then, anything installed will be on the SDcard.

Another option might be to swap the internal and external sd cards. There are several links if you google it. Some work and some don't, so be careful. There is also this app in the Play Store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=eu.codlab.int2ext

Hello.
Is there a app that moves the data to the external SD card?
I tried App2SD, and it didnt work!
I emailed the creator, and i got a replay:
http://android.a0soft.com/?url=App2SD.htm
I cannot find the "Move to xxx" button from application detailed information window.
Moving app to SD is handled by Android. App 2 SD app only provides an UI for you to manage it. Currently, Android only supports the primary external storage for App 2 SD. If the device does not have a real primary external storage or the primary external storage is emulated from the internal phone storage. Moving app to SD function will not be supported by Android system. It's the limitation of hardware. Please get more information from device manufacture.

I do have rooted my Note 2, so maybe another program can do the trick?
You can not move your applications to external sdcard.
Two workarounds (need root)
1.google for bind directory (tested on s3 and had problems)
2.swap your int sdcard with ext scdard.thread here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1931500 (also needs custom kernel)

Actially there is one way.
You need root.
Download titanium backup pro, and you can move ALL user apps to sd card. :good:
Yea... but what SD card... i want the external one, not the small 16 gb one.
Newest edition of Spotify does not allow us to choose what SD card we store the music on.
Total failure.
Testing Bind Directory now.

Is it really that simple? I mean have you tried it, and do the games play properly without lag? If someone can confirm this you'll make my day. I have had bought titanium pro since my old GS2 days.
Titanium backup pro can really move the apps to SD for note 2? I have tried moving about 30 apps including some big size games and I don't see any different in my phone storage after moving....

From what I've read about the S3, no. That's why I was skeptical. From what I've read, you either have to use directory binder or install a mod which changes the internal storage with the sd card.

So, there is no way to do it? I really dont understand why you have an external SD that you cant used for apps or even storing Titanium backups to the EXTERNAL SD. This, as well as not being able to connect to my Hidden WAP is just about the straw that drives me back to the IPHONE. At least I know I can connect to my corporate Wifi and if I get 64gb then I truely have 64gb. Someone please ease my pain.
I think the only option for now is to use directory bind until someone made and app2sd which work for note 2 platform.

Was reading this thread and thought I'd let you know that you can choose the directory in which Titanium Backup uses to store your backups. in the backup folder location, in the preferences for Titanium Backup.
I've been having issues with directory bind. I'm going to get a larger sd card and use the swap method. I like the Note 2 to much to want to return it
Seriously people directory bind is very easy to use, just once, set the mnt/extSdCard/android/data directory from your external sd as the source, and storage/android/data as the target path.. then manually move the desired app data to the sd card folder, easy

I've partitioned my SD (30 GB Fat32 & 2 GB ext2) but there is still no "move2sd" within Titanium.
I also can't find this new partition within my "File Expert" (rooted)
Can some1 please help me??

i think you cant create ext2 partition on your external sd. Dont try that on your phone, do it with a sd card reader and pc. Then install this app (link2sd), give permission, choose ext2, reboot, and LİNK your apps to sd. Dont (also you cant) move apps. Just link... Works perfectly on my international n7100.

What I want to know is that:-
1.I found out that I cannot have games more than the devices memory as internal memory gets full and I have to delete some game every time when i am installing a new one, the more pain is that in this thing i also have to lose my all saved data.
2. Cant receive files to SD card when ever internal memory is full, although i have 32 gb ext card totally free, It's very heartbreaking to face this issue on a best phone.
Please tell me the best possible solution to these to issues. I'll be very thankfull to you all.

Unfortunately for you rooting is the only solution if you want to move apps or install them on your external memory directly. Just in case you decide to finally root your phone you can use apps like directorybind or apps2sd... They work perfectly fine as long as you follow exact instructions.

Hi bushako,thanks for helping.
kindly let me know if i root, am I i able to retain my saved game data also? and if i want to play the same game after deleting it can i get the same working with saves?
also let me know other best apps for this whole thing.
Yes rooting will not format or erase your apps/saved games. It's just a matter of letting certain apps have access to your root directory which by default is disabled, there are many threads on instructions on safely rooting your phone. As for retaining the saved game after deleting the app I'm not sure but I think the only way is to manually access the files where the saved games are stored and backing them up. Another method I would choose is by using Titanium Backup app, but it will require rooting. It will allow you to backup all or individual games onto the external sd card including there data. So that you can restore the game with the saved data anytime in the future.

Best thing is to root and use the mod to switch your internal sd and external sd... so the phone reads your 32gb ext sd card as internal and installs all your games on it with the data

@ KyleDevlin12....dont use that stupid apps2sd..it doesnt work dude....the best and ONLY solution is use directory bind...soo easy to use...in 3 steps your games are in your external memory...Or another method...if you want to use the mod which change the external into internal memory ...than u have to buy a 64 gb sd card..otherwise it isnt worth to use this mod.
So from my own experience ....Directory bind is the king in this case.
hope i helped you out.

-Root won't erase anything (though always prefer backup), even rooting only can backup game level etc.
-Directory bind i recommend. This also survice your data while factory reset. Read This

+1 for directory bind.
Due to size limitations (GPads only coming in 16gb varieties) I am beginning to run low on space on my Gpad (v500 running cm11). However I have a 64gb microSD card and I would like to use this as much as I can to conserve space on the internal memory.
There are a few ways to solve this but I not fully know how to do this.
Firstly, is it possible install apps to microSD card? If so, how? I know some devices support this and some do not. My phone for example does not but I have heard that some people have had success with this.
Next, there are some rather large folders on my internal storage that I would like move to my sdcard however the apps that use those folder can only read them where they are currently located (cmupdates, ebooks, etc).
I read about symlinks and managed to make a few but the only place I was able to make a symlink was to /data/media/0. But the changes to that do not show up the apps which I believe read either /sdcard or /storage/emulated/0. And for my SDcard I can get to it either in /mnt/media/sdcard1 or through /storage/sdcard1.
I tried and succeeded in making a link between /mnt/media/sdcard1/eBooks and /data/media/0/eBooks however the link does not show up in /sdcard or /storage/emulated/0 and it does not show up in the apps, leading me to believe that is where the apps read the sdcard from.
If anyone can answer the above two questions or give any other suggestions for maximizing available space on my internal card please let me know.
Thank you!
I think most of your issues could be resolved with Link2SD (under 10 posts, can't post a link to Google Play).
You can also use an app called Foldermount. It's only $.99 ( if I recall correctly) for the unlocked version. This allows you to move any folder to SD card. I like it as it guides you thru the way and will move the data for you as well. Latest version has been updated to allow apps from play store to install properly. Well worth the $1 price.

These solutions did work for me, I am still tweaking to get it the way I like it especially since every time I update my Rom Link2SD has to generate new scripts. I can ready and write to the SD card just fine and I could before I started using this as well. I am not sure why you aren't able to write to your sd card. Could it be a bad SD card? Well, if you did it from your PC, it may be formatted NTFS, and you need them formatted FAT 32. Get it here; http://www.partitionwizard.com/free-partition-manager.html Not only allows formatting almost any format xFAT, Fat32, NTFS, etc.. and you can partition them also which is not supported by Windows, but IS supported by most Android ROMs. I doubt there is anything wrong with your device.

I have been trying to fix the issue with Rom updates and link2sd. You have to provide the Rom (in my case cyanogenmod) a backup script so it can back up the files. I am planning on figuring it out at some point but if you get it before I do would you mind posting your script? Thanks!

So a follow up with this, I was able to get a script working. I don't know if this feature is unique to cyanogenmod or not but any script in /system/addon.d will execute itself during a rom install and be restored automatically if it was wiped. So using 50-cm.sh as an example I made a script called 11-link2sd.sh to perform the backup of the mount script for link2sd which is located in /system/etc/init.d/11link2sd.
I then had insert this script and my mount script into a cyanogenmod update and flash it in. But after that I tried flashing an update of cm11 to test it and it worked! Attached is my script which should also work for anyone who is able to flash it into their /system/addon.d folder.
Hi all,
I have my phone as it came from the store. All stock, not rooted, and I have a 32 GB Class 10 SD Card in it.
Through the Settings / Application Manager / On SD Card I have the option to thick what apps I'd like to move to the SD Card.
If I check any apps it acts like it was moving the app (even if I click on "Move to SD Card") but actually it stays in the device memory.
I can "move" all the apps to the SD card, the phone will tell me that they are on the SD card and it gives me the option to move them back to the device's memory, but for real there's nothing in my sd card, and device's memory is full.
Any ideia what's the problem? That feature works very well in my old Galaxy Y Duos.
Thank you!

That is not a bug. When you move app to SDCard, it doesn't move large data. If you want to move the data and the game still works, go to the Play Store and search for FolderMount (NEEDS ROOT). Read the instructions carefully and use it. Thats what I do to move 10GB of data and still the game works. Good Luck.

That's the workaround I use folder mount, works nice as expected when moving obb, picture, downloads, music, and documents folder to the extsdcard.
I haven't moved apps to the sdcard lately but I'm pretty sure the apps data where in the emulated when I try that option the first time.
GL to SD also works: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.slf.ListglApp

I doubt it, as this function isn't available in custom ROMs as well.
Unless it system apps you want to move, otherwise the GL to SD app I provide above will work. It just the free version only allows you link up to 5 apps.
Re: SD Card Into Internal Memory
Hi guys
Can you let me know how to make the SD card part of the internal memory. The A5 2017 is a good phone but the problem is the limitation in the internal memory and seriously i'm not willing to change the phone just because it lacks space. So, if someone knows how to make the SD card part of the internal memory, please do share. Since I'm quite new, if there's a need to root the phone or whatever, please send the instructions also. if you want to use more app in your phone, can use "link2sd" app. it links app 2 sd
else you can use custom rom to combine sd memory and phone but in this case you cant use sd card out of your phone because other devices cant detect that.

I used app2sd on a different phone and you could even link system apps.

it's saying link2sd could not obtain root access.
if you have root access make sure you respond "allow" or grant to the superuser request.
how to sort that out?
