[Q] Best radio?

Hi, according to what i've read the radio should be choosen to the country and the carrier you're working with, I live in colombia and my carrier is movistar, but im not getting 3g speeds, i just bought a t-mobile g2, i've seen that carriers in colombia are working on UMTS 850 and UMTS 1900, so can anyone help me on choosing the correct radio to my phone?
THANKS!!!!
The 3G bands on the G2 are 1700/2100 and 2100 MHz, so you are never going to get 3G speeds on it, if your network is using 850 and 1900 MHz. This is set in hardware, and can't be changed by flashing radios. So you are stuck on EDGE. You bought the wrong model of the Vision if you want 3G on your network. The only version with compatibility with 850 and 1900 MHz 3G bands is the Bell Canada version of the Desire Z.

[Q] 3G NOT working on International Unlocked Version!

I bought the unlocked version (R800i) and im using it on a latinamerican network (MOVISTAR COLOMBIA) which is a GSM carrier but i can not get 3G speeds. Does it have to do with the supported bands? How can i change my supported bands?
BTW: This carrier works with GSM 850/1900 bands and according ro GSM arena it supports the following bands:
-2G Network: GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900
-3G Network: HSDPA 900 / 2100
HSDPA 850 / 1900 / 2100 / 800
Have you set up your apn settings

I think what he's trying to say is you bought the wrong model.. Sorry dude.
hi guys having the same issue.
i have Xperia Play (R800i) running on Telekom (Slovakia). I asked folks over there on what frequency is their 3G running, they told me that 1800.
Does it mean that i will have just 2G (Edge) available if in my paper is UMTS HSPA Band 1 8 GSM GPRS/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900?
Telekom offered this mobile in the end of 2011 so I am curious whether they would offer mobile with no 3G capability.
Thanks
R800i: GSM (2G) 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900, HSDPA (3G) 900 / 2100
R800at: GSM (2G) 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900, HSDPA (3G) 850 / 1900 / 2100 / 800
The R800i will not work with 850 and 1900 bands. You can't change the support band, you'll have to buy a different phone. It is hardware limitation btw, if you flash R800at firmware and baseband to your R800i, it will not make it work.

thanks for your reply, if my provider is telling that its 3G is running at 1800 Mhz, it should run right? currently i am running just 2G :/ and even when carrier selection i have just 2g shown. Can it be SIM related? i have changed mine a week ago.
Edit: just checked in TMobile that lady ran my SIM on her phone and H appeared. it has to be phone related somehow.
how can i find out whether my 800i wasnt transfered from some at, a version?
I talked do Data centre and R800i was in one of the action of Telekom , when i select only WCDMA, i lose any access to the service, carrier told me that it has to do something with the phone.
I guess that there were 3G and 4G versions of Play, not the version without 3G
They already told you: You bought the wrong model.

Perhaps all problems will be solved at once if you bought the correct model?!

The 1800 is listed under both R800i & R800at as 2G frequency. I hate to say it but as its been stated already in this thread you bough the wrong model.
Eskasol:
"R800i: GSM (2G) 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900,
HSDPA (3G) 900 / 2100
R800at: GSM (2G) 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900,
HSDPA (3G) 850 / 1900 / 2100 / 800

HTC One X USA Users

So the users that are going to use this device in the USA on AT&T or T-Mobile, where are you purchasing your device from in the states?
Also does anyone know if I were to use it on AT&T will I have to change the cellular settings or will the device pick up default settings on first boot. I remember there were different APN settings for AT&T and an unlocked device to give it access to faster DL speeds. Does anyone know?
Thanks in advance.
I also would like to know if the international version of One X is HSPA+ 42 mbps capable with T-mobile US?
Sent from my Sensation 4G using Tapatalk 2 Beta-5
No, it's not compatible with T-Mobile US 4G unless you're lucky enough to live in one of the few places where they're using 1900MHz. It'll work with AT&T data roaming at 4G, and it'll work as 2G on T-Mob's own network.
HTC ONE X specs from phone arena:
GSM 850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz
UMTS 850, 900, 1900, 2100 MHz
Data HSDPA+ (4G) 21.1 Mbit/s, HSUPA 5.76 Mbit/s, UMTS, EDGE, GPRS
UMTS on AT&T works at 850 and 1900 MHz so should be fine, I am not sure about t-mobile. it might work at 1700-2100 so could be kind of a problem...
regarding my personal experience, I have a european desire hd (on at&t), and in the bay area (SF) it gets no more than EDGE connection (I saw 3G icon couple of times ). However Desire HD doesn't work at 850 and 1900 MHz, whereas One X does so... should be fine on at&t.

Yep, as I said, there is no 4G on T-Mobile unless you roam to AT&T, or you're in one of a very small number of places in California where they've started using 1900MHz for T-Mob.

[Q] Unlocked Bell Gs3 on T Mobile

I have a bell GS3 that is unlocked can I use a t mobile sim card in it and get the 3g data or is AT& T the only one that works?
The Bell site says the GS3 supports the following:
HSPA/UMTS compatibility
UMTS 850/1900/2100 MHz
GPRS/EDGE compatibility
850/900/1800/1900MHz
and according to wikipedia T mobile USA has these:
850 MHz/1900 MHz GSM/GPRS/EDGE/UMTS/HSPA
1900 MHz GSM/GPRS/EDGE 2G .
1700 MHz UMTS/HSPA/HSPA+ 3G/4G
1900 MHz UMTS/HSPA/HSPA+ 3G/4G
1700 MHz LTE
So I am fairly certain that as long as the area I am in is serviced by that 1900 MHz UMTS/HSPA I should be fine right? Obviously no LTE speeds buts thats ok I dont even use it as home since it is such a battery pig.
anyone have some input it would be greatly appreciated?
I have a att gs3 which I unlocked and now using on T-Mobile, it works good but a lot of times it switches to edge when there is 4g available. I believe there is a way to fix it by flashing t mobile radio but I dont want to brick my phone so I havent tried.

It will work for calls and data but data will be 2G. AT&T uses 850/1900 frequencies for 3G and 3.5G and the E975 you found only supports 2100. So, to answer your question, 3G will simply not work.
