Has anyone gotten this error with Dolphin Browser HD trying to download .apk files? I've downloaded them with no problems in the past, but I've gotten this recently. It's really getting frustrating. I've tried rebooting several times as well.
Do you have an app manager or a file browser app that can install apps? I seem to recall that helped.
I had the same problem, had to go to the stock browser to download .apk's

I used Android Crutch, and was able to download all file types.

I'm running Dk28, EXT4 with NebulaROM 1.0.7. Lately, I've tried to download flashable .zip files, and it tells me, "download unsuccessful, file not compatible" or something like that. I get the same message using the XDA app and browser. Anyone else getting this?
Jared
Same problem started happening today

Instal Auto file manager if you don't have it already. Open astro, select menu, then more, and then preferences. Then scroll down and check enable browser downloads. This should fix your issue.

Thanks, Ray. It worked.
Anyone know another workaround for this? I have Root Explorer installed, so I don't need Astro, and I'm a freak about unwanted/unneeded apps taking up space.
Jared
No that was my only solution too. I know what you mean I have root explorer too

Install Download All Files from the market.
Sweet. Download All Files worked. Thanks, man!
Every time I download ANY file (.zip .apk .rar etc...) from my phone, it comes up 'FAILED'. It will start the download fine and even download it to 99% but after that, it fails.
Anyone else having this problem? I have unknown sources box checked. Still no luck.
I'm rooted running AOKP 26 with Trinity aelp kernel.

Try clearing the download manager data, someone posted this before and I believe that was the fix

Hope that works since I have this problem a lot. I thought it just depended on the site you download from.

Didn't work for me. By clearing, what do you mean?

It happens to me to. I keep clicking the link and it finally does it right. But I'm not downloading very large files. That would be frustrating to go to 99% and then drop.

No... not deleting Downloads on SD card. Just deleting the "cached" downloads in the Downloads app. So that when you enter your Downloads app it says "No Downloads." Downloads and Download Manager are right next to each other in Manage Apps. Just clear data for both.
Usually dolphin browser handels downloads better.
Every time this happens to me I download Dolphin Browser and download it via that browser and then when its done, I uninstall dolphin

Ok so, I can't get flash player to work. I've tried multiple apk's with not success. Heres a list of browser is I used.
Opera: Just fc's when I tap the play button to load the flash content.
Dolphin(with flash support) Fc's when I tap to load flash content
Xscope: iOS-like blue lego
Firefox: fc's like dolphin
I can't get the AOSP Browser to run
and chrome(obviously) has no flash support.
Im running stock.
Any suggestions?

JellyBean does not support flash but there was a thread regarding this issue if you could dig that out that has the instructions and flash player attached too.

There's a tutorial on beginnerstech.co.uk that gets it working on rooted devices

Works fine on mine. Worked on Firefox, but I'm using Boat now, works on it too. No root. I just side loaded the apk from another thread.
I tried sideloading didn't work but I followed that tut and it did.

It works.
1) Get flash apk. Sideload it (does not require root).
2) Get a browser that supports flash. Can you stock if you root and install in system/app. Could also use another browser. The ones I've heard work are Firefox Aurora (with the Phony add-on) and XScope. Opera Mobile and Mini don't seem to work (from what I heard), not does the regular Firefox.
Cool iv got flash sorted using the root method stock browser so much better

@ OP, it all depends on what version of the flash player apk you're using. The link that ace7196 is the one you need and it works for me.
Ok, thanks guys, I'll be sure to try it out
Hey guys...any of you know how to enable flash player on any browser in Note 8?
Sent from my GT-N5100 using xda app-developers app
Yes, to enable flash for the stock internet app you only have to download the flash app from adobe and sideload it. Here is the link.
http://download.macromedia.com/pub/...roid/11.1.115.58/install_flash_player_ics.apk
This app gets updated atleast once a month so just do a google search for android flash archives and choose the top option that links to adobes site. Halfway down that page you will see android 4.0 archives. These work on every android 4.0 and up.

'There is a problem parsing the package' - is what I get when I try to install the apk.
And yes, I have enabled the installation of non-market apps.
I also tried the apk from here: http://d-h.st/A6V
But get the same error??
I'm sure I have over looked something but after updating to kitkat I can no longer download any files though any browser, have tried chrome stock and dolphin which all worked before the update. I have an outlook Web account for work so need to use the browser to access and download attachments. Any help welcomed. Thanks

There is no special procedure for enabling download in kitkat. It works just fine.
1) Make sure your internet access is good. Check download with another PC/tablet/phone.
2) Check if you can install apps from google play store
3) You may need to do a factory reset or reinstall kitkat firmware.
Thanks for the reply, there is no issue with Internet connection or downloading apps, this is purely a browser issue I think. I remember having this issue before on honeycomb I think but was able to fix with es file explorer as it had an option to enable downloads. I also have a note 2 on kitkat which works fine.

Still no joy with the downloads and now my Samsung account wont sync, anyone any ideas. Thanks
Sent from my SM-P605 using Tapatalk
maybe because you are not rooted and try to write to sdcard ?
Thanks for the reply, not rooted but root not needed to download attachments from email client on browser. Does not explain the Samsung account failing to sync?
