Every time I download ANY file (.zip .apk .rar etc...) from my phone, it comes up 'FAILED'. It will start the download fine and even download it to 99% but after that, it fails.
Anyone else having this problem? I have unknown sources box checked. Still no luck.

It happens to me to. I keep clicking the link and it finally does it right. But I'm not downloading very large files. That would be frustrating to go to 99% and then drop.

No... not deleting Downloads on SD card. Just deleting the "cached" downloads in the Downloads app. So that when you enter your Downloads app it says "No Downloads." Downloads and Download Manager are right next to each other in Manage Apps. Just clear data for both.
Usually dolphin browser handels downloads better.
Every time this happens to me I download Dolphin Browser and download it via that browser and then when its done, I uninstall dolphin

is anyone having an issue with the MARKET downloading updates for apps that are quite large? I have been fine updating apps that are of smaller size but 2 apps, ANGRY BIRDS and COPILOT LIVE USA as 14M and 17M and those apps will not download the updates from the market. It just says DOWNLOAD FAILED. I go into CATLOG and look at the log. It shows APP IS IN DOWNLOAD STATE BUT DOWNLOAD FAILED. How do I resolve this so that I can download the updates? I have been fine downloading any other update but those 2 apps are of a big file size and wont update....
HELP!!!! Thanks...
For what rom? And have you check the space left in your memory card/internal memory?
Sent from my PC36100 using Tapatalk
Have you tried clearing the markets cache? That usually works for me when I have a download problem.
Its Sprint lovers rom and HAS been working fine.. this just started and I think it must be a google market error not a phone error. I have 145M free on internal memory.

MOST program I go to update work fine but these 2 which are 14M and 17M do not download from the market. On the google market forum I see others having similar issues although it doesnt mention file size.. I posted there but havent yet received a response...

Got it to work. The Hulu.apk did not install. If you have super user installed and Titanium working properly then do the following:
Extract the 3 files in Hulu Backup-1.zip to the location of your Titanum back ups and then restore.
I had to use the task killer to kill titanium, it was stuck in the restoring screen. Hulu is working like a charm!

The restore method worked perfect for me also. The buffering is caused by the ad block on your phone. You will need to delete the hosts file in system/etc.

Hmm fresh wipe of what, data/cache/dalvik? Even if you had adfree before, blocking ads, it would still be blocked without having the app because the host file is in /system so anything short of factory reset/Odin wouldn't change this.
Download again adfree and press revert.

so an update in case anyone is wondering. After clearing cache/reflashing the bare 2.8.1 calks rom i installed the stock apk (from the link I posted above) and it works fine now.
I get these things almost every night, lead to websites that don't exist (or may be blocked by ad-away). Any ideas?

Wow roms do adds now
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk
You have an app that is giving you ads.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using XDA App
it's not the rom that's doing it, it's an app that's been downloaded/installed. whatever was the last app you downloaded from market before those ads started showing up is the culprit. by uninstalling the app(and possibly rebooting your phone) the ads will go away.
however, if it's an app you insist on having, you can download an app like 'Ad Blocker' that will allow that particular app to continue running on your phone while blocking whatever "ads" come with it.
See my edit. I have ad-away installed, it does the same thing as ad blocker

Not in that screenshot, but yes after a full wipe with no apps installed/restored it does it too
when you wipe the phone, you do the standard 'factory reset' as well as format /system before you install a new rom right?
it could be something that was installed to /sdcard that's causing it as performing the 2 options above would not work in this case.

hmm... i'd say if you're willing to, format /sdcard
considering that /system is getting completely wiped it's obviously not there. has to somehow be something that made it's way onto the sdcard.

If you wipe data and flash a rom from this forum and reboot there is zero likelihood of that. Uncheck settings > backup and restore > restore blah blah.
If that isn't working you break your phone number

I would call myself an experienced ROM flasher, I literally do not understand what's causing this. I'm not restoring automatically when I set up again after wiping, I don't think something can just autorun itself from the SD card. I'm thinking it might be some sort of verizon spam, similar to the "Ozmail" thing maybe?
there is another thread here that's similiar.
if it is 'airpush' related, i'd probably try out Airpush Detector or Addons Detector

no that dns bypass is possible via a build.prop edit but thats not what this is, this is just simply a sysctl tweak, you can read about it here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=523707 op should update his post that it works on ALL android because we ALL have the linux kernel

You just answered my question, I'm about to bake this in my own little rom. Samsung forums always make me feel funny because everything is the same but with a lil diffrent tweak or theme here or there so I never release my work
something else kinda odd is the date on the one already on my system is dated 01 Aug 08 the one from your zip is dated 14 Nov 11. But they both have exact same lines within the script. And they are both 540bytes. MD5 has same number as well. I don't know if any of this info is helping anyone, but just trying to share what I am getting on my end.

Just a guess, you flashed the a2z right after you flash rom and gapps. You might want to try booting up, signing into your gmail account, then flashing in your a2z zip. I haven't used that in a while, but I think I had this same issue.
If that doesn't work try clear data/cache for Google Play Services.
