Anyone has Exchange Server Calendar sync problem? - Desire General

Hi I am a new Desire user. I setup Exchange server sync on my desire with no problem on email. However the calendar syncing doesn't work. It always say "time out ...". I can't sync the calendar at all. Anyone has this problem and a solution?

mine syncs just fine.
i'm guessing that you didn't forget to check the calendar to be synced?
also try to set up a different exchange acc , like gmail and see if you have the same problem...just so you know if it's the phone of server error

Actually I did check it. The message is "Connection Socket Timeout" under "Sync calendar [X]".
If I can receive email that means I can connect to exchange server with no problem right? Then there should be no other special setting for calendar... strange...

YES, facing the same (exchange 2007 on sbs 2008 with htc desire)
mail & contacts are fine, calendar says "connection timeout".
logging on sbs says:
MS Exchange Active Sync 1008:

So is this a bug or what? Do I have to wait for Android 2.2 ... ...? Or do I need to purchase touchdown??? *_*

Hi Folks!
Just delete all pairings with all (even old or other [windows phone] devices) in windows mobile device center and/or outlook web access.
Wait until all pairings completed successfully on active devices and create a new sync partnership with the desire.
To get those sync problems gone that should be the most clean way.
Synchronisation at all works in general against Exchange 2007 - do you have all ms server updates applied?
Greetings from Berlin/Germany
Ralf

Hi Ralf, the problem is actually not the sync between Outlook calendar saved on PC and my Desire. It is the sync between Exchange server and my Desire. When you say delete all the pairing you mean the pairing between ActiveSync installed on PC and the mobile phone right? Correct me if I am wrong.

Yes, I have the same problem ("Connection Socket Timeout") with my Desire and Exchange 2003. Email and contacts work like a charm, but not the calendar. However, with Touchdown everything works fine.
*edit*
I followed the instructions in a post by mattrog (search for "Exchange 2010 Sync Calendar Problem (solution!)" and you'll find the post) and it worked.

Yes!! It works!! Thanks NoNick2!

I have errors from time to time but it is only a handful of connections that time out. Most work well.

in my case i had thousands of calender items, i just deleted the old years completely (do i need my calender items from 2001?) - then the desire could sync without problems.
have phun

Another fix
I have found another fix!
I tried backing up and deleting all calendar items from my Exchange 2007 calendar, I also tried deleting the ActiveSync relationships from within OWA. I then tried deleting the account on my phone (a HTC Desire running 2.2) and recreating it, but it kept failing to sync the calendar. I noticed that each time I tried, most (but not all) of the calendar items I had deleted from my calendar in Exchange came back, presumably from the phone! That made me realise that for some reason many of the Exchange calendar items had become local calendar items on the phone, hence they survived me deleting the Exchange account and they were getting synced back to Exchange each time I re-created the account on the phone.
So I then tried:
Settings > Applications > Manage applications > Calendar storage > Clear data
And set up the account again and all was OK
I don't know if deleting everything from the Exchange calendar or deleting and re-creating the account on the phone was required (but they definitely didn't fix it on their own) but I am sure clearing the local phone calendar was the crucial step in my case.

WM5 Bluetooth Activesync Problem!

I am trying to set up a bluetooth activesync between my xp pc (activesync 4.2), and my wm5 blue angel (xplode 3.5 aku rom).
I understand that I have to creat a com port connection between the devices, before I can activesync.
On my computer bluetooth settings, I try to add a new incoming com port, and it automatically assigns com 3.
On my blue angel, I try to assign an outgoing com port, and it shows me a drop down list of coms 0-9, but I can only assign 0, as on the others it shows error message: The COM port could not be created. Please check your settings and try again. I have also tried the com ports vice versa (pda incoming, pc outgoing).
Which settings do I change, and what have I done wrong?
Thanks,
Tom
I have the same problem on my Imate JasJam.
Did you manage to resolve this or anybody get back to you?
I found an interesting point of solution here:
http://www.eten-users.net/lofiversion/index.php/t4588.html
indicates a registry hack to change COM7 to com7 and so on. Am trying it now and will post.
Tried that didnt work grrrr...
Same here - does anyone has a solution for this?
ok i will try to not be so rude, but please learn how to use PC before ask questions like this one.
first on your pc make sure you do not use Bluesoleil or Widcomm software
plug your BT dongle
windows detects it like generic bluetooth radio (or asks for driver, install just the driver without the software)
go to control panel
go to bluetooth devices
on com ports tab press add
choose incoming
press ok
it will show you which port is incoming (com3 my case)
press ok
open activesync
press file
press connection settings
check allow connections to one of the following
select your incoming com port (com3 in my case)
press ok
thats it
you can now sync trough bluetooth
P.S. this question was asked a lot of times it is not a problem in rom it is a problem in user
I have been able to get bluetooth to work in the past no problem.
On this one, I couldnt get it to work, and I am not sure why.
I understand the steps that you have indicated, and do tend to agree.
That said, my last attempt was a failure, and I am still to continue trying.
It should work ok, it has worked ok in the past, but for some reason, we were unable to choose com1-7 due to the error indicated. Only com0 was able to be selected but the PC doesnt allow that.
When I have tried and done it, I will post, but the steps indicated worked fine for other devices, just not the hermes for some reason.
i just add a bluetooth port in local services in the vidcomm software
set ac to use that
bound the device
start activesync on the pda and click bluetooth
and it works
i dident asign any in or outgoing ports on the pda at all
Simon,
I recently had problems getting my XDA Exec to sync over Bluetooth with Activesync. I was able to prove that it was an issue with the phone and not the PC as I also have an XDA2 running WM5 and it could pair with the PC and then Sync fine. Also, if I hard reset the XDA Exec, it would pair again.
Whenever I paired the XDA to the PC it would always offer "Serial Port" as a service and not "Activesync". I spent a good while thinking that it must be the PC at fault, maybe Activesync was setup wrong, but the XDA2 proved the PC was fine.
In desperation I had a dabble with the Registry and deleted a few sub keys in and around HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Bluetooth and eventually got it working again. The NON working Registry is below. The subkeys I deleted were
Bluetooth\Activesync\000a3a644396
Bluetooth\Device\000a3a644396
and I also changed
Bluetooth\Activesync\Initialised=1 (was 0 before)
After this, when I paired to the PC and it looked for the services, the WIDCOMM icon on the PC would kick into life and say that the XDA Exec was trying to access a COM port, click here to allow it, and when I did I was presented with "Activesync" as a service. Before, I was getting nothing from the WIDCOMM icon (other than to say to enter the PIN).

As Rudegar says above, no need to create any COM ports on the phone itself (although some of the guides I read on the internet said that they had to create a com port on the phone in order to get "Serial Port" to change to "activesync" in Services).
Good luck.
Thanks for all the help guys, I am always learning
I came to this forum a complete beginner in Dec 2006, and now I know a fair bit about PPCs
activesync don't work here nomore
Mine quit working after connecting with a buddy for some file transfer. Seems in using the port7, it did not properly disable the automagic port7 of activesync. I was only getting serial port option after pairing with desktop and I could not setup port7 in the BT com manager. So I followed the advice above, which is
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Bluetooth
and delete all keys here.....(there was just one and is most likely different)
Bluetooth\Activesync\000a3a644396
delete the PC device on the phone....repair it to the phone....and voila activesync is an option again.
thanks for pointing me in the right direction!

I am new here and probably having the same problem, and try to add communication port to my pda. I try to follow exactly the deleting instruction above but the registry command doesn't look the same on WM6. Any idea?
It took me a week until came across this thread. I look into register on PPC as suggested and delete all the sub key under activesync. Then, redo all the pairing. It works.
Thanks.

... In desperation I had a dabble with the Registry and deleted a few sub keys in and around HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Bluetooth and eventually got it working again. The NON working Registry is below. The subkeys I deleted were
Bluetooth\Activesync\000a3a644396
Bluetooth\Device\000a3a644396
and I also changed
Bluetooth\Activesync\Initialised=1 (was 0 before) ...

Thank you Mikey.
BenQ E72 WM standard 6.0. Dell Vostro 1200 Win XP Prof SP3 w. Broadcom BCM92045NMD using BlueSoleil 6.249.0 (note not Widcomm). BlueSoleil had registered two serial ports 12 & 13 automatically.
When I attempted to set-up ActiveSync 4.5 I got the message "Cannot connect to using Bluetooth to a PC that supports ActiveSync ..."
When I examined (on the BenQ E72) HKLM\software\microsoft\bluetooth\activesync\ there was (only) a key 000c557257fc with values Priority 1 and RasEntry Photosmart A510 seri and a key 000c557257fc under HKLM\software\microsoft\bluetooth\device\
Now I had previously set-up a BT partnership w. an HP PhotoSmart A516 printer+BT450, and in hindsight it appears this had "claimed" the ActiveSync partnership and somehow inhibited setting-up an ActiveSync partnership with the PC. (I was surprised to find that the HP printer BT printing had some involvement in ActiveSync.) So maybe if I had simply deleted that HP PhotoSmart A516 partnership, the problem would have gone away?
However I proceeded as follows.
I deleted the keys above referencing 000c557257fc and changed bluetooth\activesync\initialised=0 to initialised=1
I had also set-up another serial port (4) on the Dell Vostro 1200 which I had assigned in ActiveSync 4.5 as the connection port, but when re-pairing BlueSoleil kept saying it had connected to port 12, so eventually I gave up resistance and assigned port 12 as the ActiveSync port. (I have seen some references to older versions of BlueSoleil which indicated that it used port "A" in its list as the ActiveSync port, so I wondered if it still had a preference to use the first port on its list for ActiveSync, or whether it was just some aspect of changing the "Serial Port" to "ActiveSync".)
Later I re-paired the HP PhotoSmart A516 printer. The result was another key (again) under HKLM\software\microsoft\bluetooth\activesync\ namely 000c557257fc with values Priority 1 and RasEntry Photosmart A510 seri and HKLM\software\microsoft\bluetooth\device\000c557257fc
I could then use the HP printer, but to connect to ActiveSync again after sending something to be printed via BT, I had to pseudo-re-pair the connection to the PC and then it was OK.
doesnt work
i did everything like you wrote and finally i could see activesync in the services list.
but when i try to connect via bluetooth it tries to connect, pc reacts both bluesoleil and activesync. it says it's connecting and the green icon circles but it can't connect.
do you have any idea about what the problem is?
thx

[Q] After reboot a new Wifi-MAC / emapiWlanMac error /Android no Wifi

Hi,
my phone has after a reboot a new WIFI-MAC-address.
All addresses are beginnig with: 00:18:41
I have to disable the MAC-filter in the router, when I try to use wlan.
Also the wlan-enable-button is grey in Android.
I have tried MTTY to fix this with
emapiWlanMac
like: http: // forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=3718638&postcount=23
But this is not working.
Result:
Code:
Notice: This MAC address takes effect only when your platform is EEPRON-less configuration. Please use [emapiTest] to verify it !
Signature mismatch! Data corruption?-eMapiWlanMacCommand, status = 0
emapiTest:
Code:
Cmd52 polling status timed out
CMD52 failed
Does anybody know, how I can fix my MAC-Address.
I have tried hundrets of WM-ROMs and Android kernels.
In WM wifi is working, but with new MAC addresses after a reboot.
In Android wifi is never starting.
Am I alone with this problem?
i was facing this kind of problem last week. I have resolved by setting a static IP on ma phone particular MAC address and now its working fine just try it.
Thanks for the answer, but your problem was another.
I have tried with a static ip (192.168.178.27), but this does not change anything.
When I enable MAC filter, my phone will not connect.

Router wlan devices:

- - 00:18:41:1A:37:77 nicht verbunden
(nicht verbunden = not connected)
Router Wlan log:

(angemeldet = announced)
---------
My Router does not see the phones name and the IP, because this MAC is not white listet.
There will be no problem in my home net, if I disable the mac filter, but I have no chance to connect to mac filtered nets.
I also have the problem with not startable wlan in android.

activates certain test features. A sim with this IMSI is also known as a "Factory SIM".
However, if the SIM IMSI starts with either "45001" or "00101" it is a "Test SIM".

I don't think u can calibrate buttons via CSC features. my home button was kinda dead recently, but after fresh flash it was back to normal.

die touch-Knöpfe sind vom Kreisel unabhängig
sie arbeiten resistiv oder so. könnten vielleicht tweaks im Kernel dafür zuständig sein.

So the Main menu has only one button at the bottom...
With this code it does start...
But I'd also like to insert badaBoard LITE into menu...
I inserted it into CSC file like "kaufDa"- & "HRS"-App (from German LA1) but it does't appear...
Where is the mistake?
You must also add Like this to mainmenu.init

Well...
It is not really a "Default"-Application...
I picked the folder from my Wave II with sTune after downloading from app store...
With permission from the developers I'd like to integrate "badaBoard LITE" into my CFW...
I also put the folder into CSC file...
But after flashing it does not apper...
But the other two apps are visible...
You must full flash with new .csc file

@hero355: I also tried this, but it has no effect...
As adfree said, it seems, that it hast to do wirh certificates...
MfG
Ah...
Okay...
Dann lass ich das erstmal so raus...
Dachte nur, dass es auf vergleichbarem Wege wie mit Polaris machbar wäre...
Maybe a talk in English will help me to understand what you already know
Did you just take installed files with sTune or you catched OAP file ???
Make sure there is no DCF files in your app files
I guess that the certificate thing shouldn't be present now after the Disable integrity check
Best Regards
I took the installed files...
There ARE DCF files in it...
How should I catch the OAP file?
It can help you
http://www.badapps.ru/4342-obhod-zaschity-shifrovaniya-v-bada-20.html
Hmmm...
I am not really familiar with Russian...
And Google translation is not really useful...
There is several ways to catch OAP file
One of those is installing app on SD card
During download you will see OAP file created in /Mount/MMC/Others/DownloadedAppPackages/
Wait until download of the app is complete
During app install copy final OAP file (refresh from a while to another the folder)
That's it
Best Regards
Hmmm...
Somhow download via Kies does not work currently for me...
the way explained above is with using in phone Samsung Apps
Ah...
Okay...
I will check it...
Can I also grab it while installing on phone?
Hidden paritions are visible in my FW...

I think this is is misunderstanding or big fault...
badaBoard Devs get more trouble then!
Samsung not allow alternate ways of distributing!
Please not bring our Devs in trouble.
Thanx.
