I am bad with my desires.
Bought from Orange a month ago, I had no particular worries, a quick reboot from time to time.
I told myself it was because of the orange rom.
So I flash with the official HTC ROM and Goldcard.
But the quick reboot it appeared more and more when I'm 5 minutes or gps or internet games (robotdefense).
I put 1.21.405.2
Always the same.
I started to see if the temp (tempmonitor) have an impact and I perceive that when the beast ateint work and a temp = 32-34 ° (temp drums), -> reboot.
I tried to put the phone on the lips of air conditioning in the car and it took 1 hour with EKLAIREUR without rebooting -> MAP mode yet (3G data) with active GPS antenna has a battery temp of 23 degrees.
Do I run the SAV knowing that I am over the logo in ORANGE bootloader.
Someone had the orange rom (not found yet) or bootloader orange
Thank you all because I'm Crisis

I have posted this in another thread but noone seems to be able to help or have seen this message.
But I hope some of you can give me some kind of help so I can rescue my Touch Diamond.
I really need your help so I cand send my phone to repair on my warranty.
My Diamond is "almost" dead and when it´s connected to the batterycharger, the phone reboots allt the time, but I can access the Bootloader, and it´s the ONLY way I can have contact with my phone.
Power on won´t start my phone and with the batterycharger the text " Touch Diamond" shows upp and then reboots again and again.
But I can enter the Bootloader.
(The last cooked Rom was a beta from udk which worked satisfied. Downloaded and installed on my Diamond in November.)
I have succeded (?) to update the ROM with the official 1.93 Swedish ROM, made by HTC for the Swedish operator 3 via BOOTLOADER beause it seems to install to 100%.
I have no way to check it...had to belive that the 100% indicator was right.
Then I entered the Bootloader (only way for me to get some access to the phone) and tried to install the stock 1.93 spl found in post 20 in this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=400411.
Same there: 100% is shown after install, so I thought it should work.
After install, I enter the Bootloader (tricolor) again but the text still says:
Security Unlocked
Diam100 MFG 64M
SPL-1.40 OliNex
MicroP.Diam (LED) v11
PSOC-Diam STAGE_PVT v0x30
I have also tried to install 1.35 spl in that post with no luck!
Do you know why it won´t show the stock spl I tried to install but shows only the hard.spl 1.40 after I tried to change the spl??
Is there another stock SPL I shall install?
I have Sim unlocked my Diamond couples of month ago with the Diamond Unlocker program.
Is my phone a brick now or can I do something so I can use my warranty?
Hope someone can help me!
Thank you very much!
Anyone?
Leave it on charger for an hour and reboot without charger...
Seems to me your battery is knocked down drained I have this too, it just will not start up.
It will start up with charger, but during startup the power is not enough to keep it going, i believe while booting, the chargeprocess is hold for a few seconds. The still empty battery just knocks down phone and -> reboot.
Method of install SPL is diff, then rom/radio.

I just tried this and it did´nt help.
When connected to the battery charger, the phone indicates it charge for a couple of seconds, then the start/reboot thing occur again.
But the ring around the D-pad did´nt glow anymore like it does when the phone being charge.
However: I let the phone be connected to the battery charger for 5 hours, then tried to start the phone, but the phone did not react when it had no power source.
But when I have the phone connected to the charger, the phone ony starts with "Touch Diamond" on the screen and then reboots.
During the restarts I can access the bootloader.
I also tried a new and fresh battery from my friends Diamond but same problem occured. The phone wont start.

I tried to change back to stock SPL - after I had installed stock Rom -by entering the bootloader (the only way I can access my phone) and started the update for SPL. The indicator showed it was updated to 100%.
But when I look at the tricolor screen it still shows I have Olinex 1.40.
Have I made something wrong when I tried to install stock SPL? The installation indicator during the install looked normal.
Can I have problem to install the stock SPL mentioned in post 1, because I have not a WWW- Rom? I had to reinstall the original ROM for the Swedish operator 3.
Really hope someone can help me out so I don´t need to trash my phone into the garbage.
Hi guys, looked a lot of threads on this forum but didn't see one similar to my situation!!!
My HTC P3300 Artemis is dead in a very strange way.
-Had it for a week with WM5(factory, german) - had no problem.
-After a week i've installed the WIN6.5WWV from Shady, from this forum - everything was ok the system worked fine (did the USPL unlock before installing)
-The device worked for around a week and yesterday just died while i started a ringtone from my additional flash of 8G SDHC within the device (had no problem with the flash before)
-A note - while on 6.5, the device had different issues with stability, had to restart once in a while.
Description of death :
1. Power button does not start the device(?!)
2. Trying to Hard reset (2 soft buttons + Reset with the stylus) - firstly i get a black screen that asks for confirmation, i press the green button to confirm. I see the text :
Format FAT partition
Format is completed!!
Then a WM logo appears on the screen with a red text in upper left corner:
IPL 1.12.0001
SPL 1.11.0000
And the phone freezes in this state.(?!) - does it mean the SPL is freezing? because before that i saw like 4 lines written with red, now only 2, the last being with SPL.
PS:
-Tried to take out the battery and repeat all steps, tried to put charger to make sure the power is constant (don;t ask, just tried .
-Tried to take off battery, wait for 20 minutes, then repeat
-Tried to take battery, wait for one night and repeat (actually i didn't wait, i just went to bad, it was night already
-Tried the bootloader mode (the Power+Voice+Reset)- it works fine, but don;t know if this helps.
What could be wrong? Is it a hardware issue? Very strange!!
Thanks for your time
Have a good one
maybe u can flash it again in bootloader? that could solve the problem?
if else, it looks like a hardware issue or the phone is bricked.

Yesterday I tried to install from flash like described here - and it was dieing all the time at "Reading from SD" - the screen was becoming bright white and it just shut down. (tried 4 times with same result, only that the moment when the screen went white was different - from 5 seconds to 2-3 minutes)
Right now, when i wanted to reply about this, i said to myself, let me try one more time!!! What do you think???? It worked!!!!
Reading from SD (1-2 minutes)--> Flashing OS (2-3 minutes) and after this it was DONE!!!!
Shuuuush!!! HTC is so weird!!!
Thanks for the help ) i think there are 2 logical ways to go next:
A) Just use it and hope it's gonna be all right in future
B) Install a generic WM not a cooked one. And maybe it's wize to downgrade to WM6.1 or WM6?
What do you recommand?
Have a good one!!
I'm so happy i fixed it!!
well u can safely use a cooked rom, if read a few topics that it can occur sometimes that a cooked rom isnt good flashed the first time. maybe that was the case with your phone, who knows
Hello,
I am new and I in a problem with my HTC DESIRE.
I have a HTC DESIRE by the English operator O2 with HBOOT 0.93 and RADIO 5.09.05.30_2 I tried to install version FORYO 2.2 by WIFI, the file OTA2.2 was be download and I launched the installation. After some restart DESIRE jammed on the first screen (blue screen with the logo O2) since the tél does not ignite any more.
What is the solution for problem?????? What is that I have to install a new ROM??? What ROM and How????
Thank you very much for your help.
The same happened to me. Luckily last July I held off. This time thought they MUST have got it right. I installed like you and ended up exactly the same. I contact O2 and told them what happened and they"understood" saying they had hundreds new in stock (2.1 of course) and put one in the post overnight. Up and running now but I hadn't backedup except contacts. Problem remains....do I go with the O2 upgrade or root!
I'm using o2 branded froyo HTC desire. When I did the OTA, the phone rebooted and was on the o2 splash screen for a long time. I left at that for a long time till it completed the whole process of updating to froyo, so I would suggest you exercise patienceand don't touch anything until it completes.
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
I'd be more worried if my phone did ignite!!! lol!!
Joking aside, if you don't mind losing your data you can install the full 2.2 ROM from scratch (assuming you're on o2 UK). You can get the full ROM file here:
http://shipped-roms.com/download.ph...00.32U_5.09.05.30_2_release_144166_signed.exe
To install it, turn off the phone and turn it back on holding the back button. Once at the white screen with FASTBOOT in red connect the USB cable and it'll say FASTBOOT USB. Then run the file you downloaded. It should do the whole update again and hopefully, this time, work
DESIRE Problem
I tried to install a HTC ROM by Rom Manager one using (RUU_Bravo_Froy2_UK_2.14.207.1_Radio_ 32.44.00.32U_5.09.05.30_2_release_14416 6_signed) but have every hays the installation stops in 82 % with the error message 140 " files cannot be read, re-try with a complete file). I downloaded 3 files but always the same message.
Now I have DESIRE with the black screen and silver HTC and in four corners a triangle with an exclamation mark. And in the fastboot marked RUU in orange there, I have not the screen of the fastboot and recovry.
What is the solution of this problem???
I have a serious issue with my DHD since yesterday. The battery was empty and when I got home I put in the charger. Instead of the normal continuous red glow it was a blinking one. I also couldn't start my DHD at all.
I left it for some time and eventually it started up. Unfortunately it kept in the bootloader and none of the options work. I removed the battery for some time and reinserted it. Then the phone "flashed" (yes, the flash on the backside flashed..) and I couldn't start it for some time.
Anyone familiar with this problem? I've googled it for some time but no one seems to have had the exact problem.
At the store they said it was possible it was waterdamage and suggested I looked for an answer here before attempting an expensive repair (no warranty thx to the rooting).
Can anyone help me?
Not quite sure what the problem could be but if you were going to send it back for warranty you might want to try restoring your device to stock using this guide here. I know it says for Australia Vodafone but I'm sure you can find your RUU and use that instead. Might save you quite a bit of money if you were to go with that option.
Hmm, thx for your reply.
I can borrow a DHD full battery from a friend. Hopefully I can connect it to the computer then and do it.
Right..
I am connected to the phone (it says FASTBOOT USB). However I am unable to use the RUU application. What else can I try?
I'm not too sure what your situation is but if you would like to explain a bit on the current status of your phone I'm sure it would help others and myself in helping you. Like is your phone able to go into the bootloader? Does it already have Radio S-OFF/ENG S-OFF? Does it have any Recovery image like ClockworkMod Recovery installed? Have you tried flashing another custom Rom? Which steps have you performed whilst following the restoring guide?
Cheers
Alright, it now loads into bootloader:
ACE XA SHIP S-ON
HBOOT-0.85.0007
MICROP-0438
RADIO-26.03.02.26_M
eMMC-boot
Oct 11 2010. 12:47:02
HBOOT
FASTBOOT
RECOVERY
FACTORY RESET
SIMLOCK
IMAGE CRC
Recovery gives HTC green screen forever
FaCTORY RESET goes to fastboot
fastboot works
Now it will not start at all. I recharged my battery to full using another DHD but my phone won't start anymore.
Only the "flash" when I insert the battery.
Bon, I am one step further.
I waited a couple of minutes and started by DHD in bootloader mode (this worked!). Then I rebooted from the bootloader.
HTC screen appeared.. and yes! normal DHD screen appeared as well!
It is working. Charging workes with the full battery.
Now I inserted my old battery and it is flashing red. I am going to wait a couple of minutes and try to start it again. Let's see what happens then.

Red flash normally if you press volume + up while booting

Good to know that it's working again! Could possibly be an issue with the battery rather than the phone itself, that would save you a lot of trouble I would imagine.
i have experienced that find an original ruu. new sense 3 would be the best. the zip versions are usable then flash through bootloader mail me for more information

Hi guys.
Last night has been a nightmare for me, I have to say. My Defy has been suffering recently from battery fatigue - the battery holds charge for about ½ an hour before I need to plug it in again. At the time, I was running CM9 (Epsylon's) so I thought I'd try downgrading to CM7 to see if it was software or hardware.
This is where the trouble began.
I faactory reset the phone and flashed the CM7 ROM I was going to use (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1604501) then hit reboot.
My phone got stuck on the M boot logo. Great. Back to recovery, I wiped all cache etc and rebooted. Still the same. Back to recovery and I tried the whole process again. Still the same.
By this point, my phone was losing charge, so I left it to charge a bit (plugging it in from 2% charge takes it instantly to 60%).
Then I retried the whole process again - still the same.
Okay, it's getting late now and I'm starting to panic. So I download a stock ROM (T-Mobile 2.2.2) and flash it using RSD Lite. Looks like it's going well, until it tries to reboot me - stuck at M Boot logo.
Now, I can't even switch my phone on to get it to the bootloader. I've tried a different battery too, and no joy.So now I have a well and truly broken phone.
From my knowledge, I have two options here:
1. Try the Macgyver fix method. I'm not confident doing this, and don't even know if it will work.
2. Take my phone back to T-Mobile and hope they don't notice what I've done.
I'd appreciate some help please if any one is able.
thanks.

ok mate
right the mcgyver trick works a treat and is surprisingly easy. i wasnt keen on it but it works and is not hard although it is fiddly and if you are anything like me it will take a few attempts to peel back the shielding and expose the wires and then get them in place.
i found the best way to get the wires in place was not put them under the battery as the guide suggests but instead just put the battery in as normal and have the wires in at the very end. you will understand what i mean when you start but i have decided to take a photo and you can see what i mean here
http://sdrv.ms/OPDczX
everything you need for that this section of the recovery is here.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=892026
then you need to flash the sbf again. the one you have already flashed is fine and is the one you need so use that. (if for some reason it doesnt work after what i am going to tell you then ask again on here before you choose another).
next follow the guide to un-bricking your phone (linked below). if the phone wont boot and gets stuck after you have flashed the sbf you need to boot into recovery and wipe the data/ cache. reboot and all should be ok.
so follow the guide to the letter but when/ if (the phone wont boot past the moto logo) follow step 8. however you will find that when you press power on/ volume down that instead of motorola recovery you get a droid with an exclamation mark (this is ok so dont panic). to get into stock recovery from this position you need to press and hold down both up and down volume buttons at the same time for about three seconds and viola. then you can wipe and you should (fingers crossed) be good to go. if you dont understand anything then ask but it is relatively straightforward and if you do what i suggest above then you should have a working phone in next to no time.

good luck
Thanks for the prompt reply, I feel more confident doing this after reading that. Unfortunately I've no spare USB cable to try this with at the moment, but having looked further I've noticed my battery has a bulge in it, so I doubt there's much point in trying this with this battery.
I did however successfully manage to flash the sbf file (according to RSD Lite) using my friend's battery - but the phone still doesn't boot. Given that my phone isn't going to be right with the current battery - I think my best option now is to take it back to T-Mobile, tell them the battery has done some damage.

did you wipe the cache/ data after you flashed the sbf? if you didnt you may want to give it a go before you send it off. it may spring to life once you have done that.
I don't get that option - the phone doesn't reboot. RSD Lite said it did, but all I actually got was a blank screen.

It looks real bad. You sure the battery didn't die in the flashing process.?
Also try booting into recovery and do a wipe.
It's entirely possible that the battery died during the flash.
I cannot boot in to recovery - the phone doesn't get that far!
I've sent it back to be repaired. hopefully they'll do it under warranty, but if not it's only going to cost around £60 to buy out the remainder of my contract so if the repair costs more I've got that as a backup option.
Thanks for all your help guys.
You can cut an old wall charger but if you can't measure the voltage to know what wire have 5 volts and 0 Volts , and you can hold the wires 5V to plus on akku and 0 to minus and the supply would load..... you can left the batt out of the device...
Wait 10 till 15 min ,for save check if batt getting hot, boot into stock recovery and factory reset your phone
If you can't enter recovery you should be able to enter boatloader
If there is battery low can not program ..load akku.. or ready to program which means .... flash rom with rsd, factory reset , reboot, have fun
i did this two times, flash with low batt one of with not loading batt in dev - i charged with Nokia wall charger cable
If only battery is too empt and briked batt loader.......
If boot loader is briked by bad flashing search Google......
But i mean ciao loved defy
And don't forget : factory reset is always after you changed your rom....

so, here's my update.
You will recall (see two posts up) that I gave my phone back to T-Mobile on 20th August for a repair. I got my phone back today (+18 days). Here's how it went:
Day 1
Took phone to T-Mobile store. Informed them my battery had a strange lump, which I suspect had fried my phone somewhere. They advised they would send it to the repair centre the following day. No courtesy phones available so I'd be living in the 1980s for a while.
Day 10.
Phone actually arrives a the repair centre. I have no idea where the repair centre is, but I'm guessing really really far away.
Day 15.
Repair centre advise my battery is faulty and to replace would cost me £26.40 for a genuine Motorola battery. Advised repair centre that I told them my battery was broken, and asked why it took them 15 days to repeat that back to me. Also advised them I would rather by my genuine Motorola battery from Amazon for £11.95. Gave them a link in case they want to update their price lists.
Day 17.
Repair started on actual phone.
Repair finished. Yep - the repair took less than 24 hours.
Day 18.
Phone returned to store. it took 24 hours to get there, so I'm assuming the post travels down hill only on the way back.
Picked up phone from store, all set to complain about poor service etc. Noticed brand new battery I hadn't paid for sitting in the returns package. Kept quiet. Left store promptly.
So now I have a working Defy once more (Hurrah).
Obviously I've rooted it already in order to get Titanium Backup to restore all my apps.
Now I have stock 2.2 Blur running on my phone (Boo!), and with only a few months remaining on my contract, I'm not sure if I want to risk loading a new ROM again (I'll reread this once I've loaded a new ROM next week, for sure).
