I am currently using MCR r2 ROM. All is fine, but I don't like HTC's phone app. Is it possible to put the stock phone app from the Nexus?
Thanks

I installed the mod for hulu from the skyraider extras on Rom manager and it doesn't work. Any ideas why?

because you posted it the wrong section...
Hmm seems like if its not working it will take development to fix it. Seems like the perfect place but thanks for your input.

I've been searching this one for a while and here is what i've gathered...
you must be deoxed (which skyraider is) and obviously you you need 2.2 and flash 10.1, the Nexus one can do it
Whambam I've got it! You don't need to be deoxed and all that jazz. To use the hulu app you will need the modified version of flash. But to watch on the browser you can use the newest version of flash.
Step 1. Open the browser app
Step 2. Clear the url and type "about:debug" then press go (if you did it right nothing will happen)
Step 3. Press menu>more>settings
Step 4. Scroll down UAString then select" desktop"
Tada!!!!

Wisenick,
Doesn't work. I tried that change and went to hulu.com and tried to watch a video and the embedded player on the site says that the browser is not supported.
I'm running the stock 2.2 os (4 day old Incredible and no root).

try using these apps
If your still having issues running Hulu on Skyraider, run the 3.1 patch. If you ran it, do it again. Fixed it for me...
I am running stock 2.2 as well with no root. I downloaded that Hulu pack, tried to watch a TV episode and it said platform not supported. I then tried to install that modified Flash install file and it said that it would not install. I am currently running 10.1.95.2.
Ok, I have a 2.02 hBoot EVO running 3.30 Froyo.
I have been rooted for a few days now and I just installed Wifi Tether from the market... It all worked well and what not - but now when I hit the Phone Button on the bottom of the screen (Rooted Stock Froyo) it no longer pulls up my phone dialer or recent history... all it does is pops up a grey bubble with the word "phone" inside it... I attached a few pictures of it to this post - any one know if Wifi Tether had anything to do with this or what else could have caused it?
Thanks
Your phone apk is not in systems. You need to reflash the Rom as it did not flash correctly

Sent from my EVO while tethered into the Matrix thru Wifi...
Odexed? Deodexed?
You can extract the apk from SteelH's ROM (it is pretty much stock) Or hunt for the actual stock rooted ROMs (deodexed and odexed)
Hello
I bought a desire z just a week ago . before that I have been using HTC dream rooted with CM6.1
The phone I bought (HTC Desire Z) is not rooted. What I am trying to do is, to remove some stock application and also replace some stock application like Maps etc.
Is there any way to remove or replace stock application with out rooting the phone. ?
Nope its impossible since you would need to remount the system folder to RW... plus due to the way they made the phone even if you temp root and delete them the way the phone is built once you reboot everything will reappear
Thanks a lot for the information....
Then I will have to root my new phone
well may I ask one more question... If I root my phone and when ever I unroot my phone, will my phone come to its original ROM (The ROM installed bydefault with Sense) ? Actually I am a bit afraid of loosing the Sense ROM :-S
if all you do is root, then that wont replace your rom. unrooting will not magically make the rom go back to stock.
what i would do in this situation is root it, then use titanium backup to freeze the apps that i dont want that way if you want to go back to stock you just defrost them then unroot
Yea you'll be able to return to unrooted sense... but if you're a sense fan there are several sense roms... both froyo and gingerbread, even a sense 3/3D rom...

Thanks for the great idea.
Its mean if i just root my phone and dont flash any rom then my original rom will remain there.
And if i flash any rom after rooting, my default rom will be replaced.
What would be the way of retrieving the default sense rom on the phone which is rooted and flashed with some rom like cyanogenmod etc.?

Hi,
I just flashed AOKP maguro build 23 to my nexus. It works fine but i cant install the root explorer from market. It just says that it isnt compatible with the device. It worked fine on the stock rom so i'm a bit confused in here.
Did you change the LCD Density?
I did and had problems with several apps, even those that were already installed.
There's a modified market-app (hacked market) that allows you to install nearly every app without changing the density back to normal, but I have no idea how to install it on the AOKP.
Hi, now everything works as it should. Thanks for helping.

I just replaced the OTA 4.0.4 with CM10 4.1.1 rom and unfortunately google play doesn't auto download and install the apps i have in my account.
Contacts and calendar were synced ok though.
Is that supposed to be like that?
Could be a couple of reasons:
1) You didn't flash gapps after the rom.
2) Some roms don't have the ability baked in. I have experienced it many times. With CM10 being pre-nightly this is possible.
Once in a while the restore just glitches and doesn't work. Very rare but happens to me sometimes.
Just back up your apps with tibu

It's because you changed rom flavors. To Google you got a new device as your I'd changes when you flash a different rom like stock to cm10. Stock to stock or cm10 to cm10 will let you restore from google
