I installed the mod for hulu from the skyraider extras on Rom manager and it doesn't work. Any ideas why?

because you posted it the wrong section...
Hmm seems like if its not working it will take development to fix it. Seems like the perfect place but thanks for your input.

I've been searching this one for a while and here is what i've gathered...
you must be deoxed (which skyraider is) and obviously you you need 2.2 and flash 10.1, the Nexus one can do it
Whambam I've got it! You don't need to be deoxed and all that jazz. To use the hulu app you will need the modified version of flash. But to watch on the browser you can use the newest version of flash.
Step 1. Open the browser app
Step 2. Clear the url and type "about:debug" then press go (if you did it right nothing will happen)
Step 3. Press menu>more>settings
Step 4. Scroll down UAString then select" desktop"
Tada!!!!

Wisenick,
Doesn't work. I tried that change and went to hulu.com and tried to watch a video and the embedded player on the site says that the browser is not supported.
I'm running the stock 2.2 os (4 day old Incredible and no root).

try using these apps
If your still having issues running Hulu on Skyraider, run the 3.1 patch. If you ran it, do it again. Fixed it for me...
I am running stock 2.2 as well with no root. I downloaded that Hulu pack, tried to watch a TV episode and it said platform not supported. I then tried to install that modified Flash install file and it said that it would not install. I am currently running 10.1.95.2.

I was using bbc iplayer yesterday on the mobile site (which requires flash) And it was absolutely fine, but today its saying my device is not supported. I'm using pays-Rom froyo aNd the full iplayer site works fine (apart from its not optimized for mobile).
Anyone else had this?

How do I find out what build I'm using? And did you update flash recently?
Go to Settings>Applications>Manage applications>All and it will be listed there - click on it and it'll say the build...
I use an MCR r8-based ROM so it has the latest Flash release in it already, I can provide a link to the APK if you need it (or just Google 'Flash 10.1.92.8 APK' and you'll find links)
IT'S not letting me install it. It says "application not installed" , don't know what's going on here.
What version are you on at the moment? I also take it you're using a file manager to install it and have 'unknown sources' ticked to allow non-Market apps
10.1.72.7 Yh I'm using astro file manager and unknown sources is checked. I select upgrade and it starts installing then stops and says application not installed.
Anyone know why its not installing?

I had the same issue with MCR6, and in order to update Flash I had to delete it from /system via recovery. Once this was done, I could reinstall again.
I think it is probably because Flash is installed /system, and you can only update /system apps via the Market. Note, this is a theory, not a fact, but I notice that later MCR builds have Flash installed in /data.
Regards,
Dave
Ok thanks Dave, how do I remove an app using recovery? And how come flash isn't in the market yet?

I believe Flash is in the Market, but unless your build.prop indicates you are using a Nexus One, it won't appear.
Vis-a-vis deleting whilst in recovery, I should have been more explicit in that you use ADB whilst in recovery to delete the APK from /system.

Dave

It seems a lot of people are having issues with 10.3. I uninstalled completely and installed 10.2 and all of my issues vanished. No issues with websites playing flash with the stock browser and dolphin HD. (Haven't tested others) Hulu works as well.
I found these on another thread so I take no credit for making them.

Use Root Explorer to navigate to this folder/file and on the top right of the screen it says "R/O"...make sure you tap it once and it says "R/W" for Read/Write and then delete the file.

I've done exactly that and I still can't install 10.2. I'm currently on 10.1 and can't install.
Try and use titanium backup to uninstall flashplayer + data completely then load the 10.2 apk. What rom are you using?

Try this
Make sure there isn't any sign of any flashplayer in your installed applications.
Do not flash this file. Put it on your sd card then click on it to install.

Here's what worked for me. Installed 10.2, use TB to convert to system file, rebooted, wiped cache/Dalvik, opened Market, clicked on My Apps, and installed the 10.3 update. Worked perfectly on AOSP GB 2.3.4. I've attached the 10.2 Flash in apk format. Hope this helps.......
In updating to 10.3 I've done what has been suggested in the above posts. I am currently back to Flash 10.1. I've uninstalled Adobe Flash 10.3, wiped cache and dalvik cache. Next I put the 10.2 apk on my sd card. I tried installing it via Astro, ES File Explorer, and Root Explorer. No matter what program I use to install the apk I get an "Application not installed" error. My question is, should I uninstall the stock Adobe Flash 10.1, clear cache and dalvik cache again, and then try to install 10.3?
hey can anyone help me? im a noob and im having trouble with my flash player too. i downloaded the lates update from the market and it still doesnt work. im trying to stream movies online from my evo and it keeps giving me the blue box with a question mark inside. if some one knows how to fix it can you please walk me through it step by step. I have an htc evo 4g running on 2.2, unrooted, flashed to boostmobile, with flash player 10.3
OK I've been having YouTube problems for the last 3days, either its plays the video slow or I get errors when i try to play a video at time. I look at the market to see if there any updates and there's no YouTube app on the market. My phone is not rooted yet and I have full signal too. I was going to do a hard reset to the phone to see if that help, but I was wanted what you guys thought first.

A reset might work. I would recommend updating your profile and your PRL in settings > about phone > system updates.
Or, try going into settings > applications > manage applications> go under the "all" tab > find YouTube and click "Clear Cache"
Let me know if it works!
Yeah I just found out that youtube is not compatible with out e4gt

That's odd? I have a E4GT and I have no troubles with youtube, except occasionally when I flash a new ROM it won't load videos until I update my modem and flash the ROM again.
**update your flash player if you haven't done so
I have Youtube 2.3.4 installed on my Epic Touch, if you don't have that version here it is:
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.google.android.youtube&feature=apps_topselling_free
I attatched some pictures of it running on my Epic Touch, you can see in one that the video is loading, but you can't see the image because it is a screenshot and the video is Flash based.
This is what I got when I look on the android market with the link you provided

It might take me a while to find a solution, just know that I'm still looking for one.
You have to download the Youtube apk separately and just install it, http://www.mediafire.com/?sbuttqtx8xi74f2

I have the 2.3.4 apk hosted on mediafire, but I uninstalled my YouTube 2.3.4 and tried to install from the one I hosted and it said install failed.
I think it may have to be flashed through a zip as a system file or installed through something like AC-SWM or Droid Explorer.
I couldn't get either of those programs to detect my E4GT though, I went trough a bunch of drivers too, including those from Kies.
I got YouTube updated and working. Here's a link for anybody else having the issues with YouTube:

JellyBean does not support flash but there was a thread regarding this issue if you could dig that out that has the instructions and flash player attached too.

Works fine on mine. Worked on Firefox, but I'm using Boat now, works on it too. No root. I just side loaded the apk from another thread.
I tried sideloading didn't work but I followed that tut and it did.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
It works.
1) Get flash apk. Sideload it (does not require root).
2) Get a browser that supports flash. Can you stock if you root and install in system/app. Could also use another browser. The ones I've heard work are Firefox Aurora (with the Phony add-on) and XScope. Opera Mobile and Mini don't seem to work (from what I heard), not does the regular Firefox.
Cool iv got flash sorted using the root method stock browser so much better
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
@ OP, it all depends on what version of the flash player apk you're using. The link that ace7196 is the one you need and it works for me.
Ok, thanks guys, I'll be sure to try it out
Okay so I've managed to some how mess up flash on this device. I originally installed flash 11 to work with dophin. I then proceeded to be unahappy with how flawlessly this was working and tried to get it to work with an older version of opera. I found some guy saying that he had used opera 11.00.1 with a different version of flash. I then uninstalled the flash that I had and downloaded this new one. It went fine though sadly opera still would not get flash and after some searching I found that opera was always fairly glitchy with flash and decided to go back to dolphin browser. Upon trying to use dolphin though I was unable to to use flash(it said it there was no flash installed), so i uninstalled the older version of flash I had installed to try and use Opera mobile. I then tried to reinstall the flash 11.1 which i was using with dolphin originally, but I got this error.
Firstly, it says The app you're installing will replace another app. All your previous user data will be saved. Then I click okay and I click install.
it then says App not installed, an existing package by the same name with a conflicting signature is already installed.
I have read a few thread about this error, but none of them seem to apply to mine. I don't believe that I am trying to do something that I need root permissions for, and I have uninstalled the old version of flash. I even got root manager just to look in my systems/app folder and there is no flash in there, so I have no idea what to do.
Thanks for looking, Eric
Have you changed your user agent to iPhone in the settings on dolphin beta? I have not found flash very important since I did it.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using XDA Premium HD app
I will look into doing that, but I still would really like to have flash again just so if there is ever something that I need it for I have it. Though thank and that will help me manage unto I get this really figured out.
