It seems a lot of people are having issues with 10.3. I uninstalled completely and installed 10.2 and all of my issues vanished. No issues with websites playing flash with the stock browser and dolphin HD. (Haven't tested others) Hulu works as well.
I found these on another thread so I take no credit for making them.

Use Root Explorer to navigate to this folder/file and on the top right of the screen it says "R/O"...make sure you tap it once and it says "R/W" for Read/Write and then delete the file.

How does one install the Adobe Flash Player 10.2 above? I downloaded it to my computer and then sent to my gmail to install. However, when I attempt to install the apk it will not install. Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

I've done exactly that and I still can't install 10.2. I'm currently on 10.1 and can't install.
Try and use titanium backup to uninstall flashplayer + data completely then load the 10.2 apk. What rom are you using?

Try this
Make sure there isn't any sign of any flashplayer in your installed applications.
Do not flash this file. Put it on your sd card then click on it to install.

Here's what worked for me. Installed 10.2, use TB to convert to system file, rebooted, wiped cache/Dalvik, opened Market, clicked on My Apps, and installed the 10.3 update. Worked perfectly on AOSP GB 2.3.4. I've attached the 10.2 Flash in apk format. Hope this helps.......
In updating to 10.3 I've done what has been suggested in the above posts. I am currently back to Flash 10.1. I've uninstalled Adobe Flash 10.3, wiped cache and dalvik cache. Next I put the 10.2 apk on my sd card. I tried installing it via Astro, ES File Explorer, and Root Explorer. No matter what program I use to install the apk I get an "Application not installed" error. My question is, should I uninstall the stock Adobe Flash 10.1, clear cache and dalvik cache again, and then try to install 10.3?
hey can anyone help me? im a noob and im having trouble with my flash player too. i downloaded the lates update from the market and it still doesnt work. im trying to stream movies online from my evo and it keeps giving me the blue box with a question mark inside. if some one knows how to fix it can you please walk me through it step by step. I have an htc evo 4g running on 2.2, unrooted, flashed to boostmobile, with flash player 10.3

Hi guys.
I'm having a few issues with Flash 10.1 on my HTC Desire rooted 2.2. A while ago I installed a flash 10.1 APK (yes I probably already had flash installed with 2.2), which now crashes my browser when loading a page with flash.
I wondered if I could remove Flash, and start over.
Adobe Flash shows up when using Manage Apps on my phone, but "Uninstall" or "Force Stop" are greyed out so I can't remove it like that.
Also why isn't flash 10.1 available in my Market?
EDIT: by the way I have googled this issue, but it's pretty hard to find anything with all the android blogs clogging up my tubes with the exact same head lines about flash 10.1 and froyo.

Hmm. When I try to install via AppBrain, it says I have 2.1, and won't let me install. Even though I installed this rom: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=741775 which is 2.2?
Anyone know why this is?
I was using bbc iplayer yesterday on the mobile site (which requires flash) And it was absolutely fine, but today its saying my device is not supported. I'm using pays-Rom froyo aNd the full iplayer site works fine (apart from its not optimized for mobile).
Anyone else had this?

How do I find out what build I'm using? And did you update flash recently?
Go to Settings>Applications>Manage applications>All and it will be listed there - click on it and it'll say the build...
I use an MCR r8-based ROM so it has the latest Flash release in it already, I can provide a link to the APK if you need it (or just Google 'Flash 10.1.92.8 APK' and you'll find links)
IT'S not letting me install it. It says "application not installed" , don't know what's going on here.
What version are you on at the moment? I also take it you're using a file manager to install it and have 'unknown sources' ticked to allow non-Market apps
10.1.72.7 Yh I'm using astro file manager and unknown sources is checked. I select upgrade and it starts installing then stops and says application not installed.
Anyone know why its not installing?
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
I had the same issue with MCR6, and in order to update Flash I had to delete it from /system via recovery. Once this was done, I could reinstall again.
I think it is probably because Flash is installed /system, and you can only update /system apps via the Market. Note, this is a theory, not a fact, but I notice that later MCR builds have Flash installed in /data.

Dave

I believe Flash is in the Market, but unless your build.prop indicates you are using a Nexus One, it won't appear.
Vis-a-vis deleting whilst in recovery, I should have been more explicit in that you use ADB whilst in recovery to delete the APK from /system.

Think I might have confused you ... no need to extract the apk, just insert it into the rom you're using. You can do that with root explorer, or even use ES File Explorer's "root option". You could also use adb to push it.
What I was referring to was, d/ling a rom and extracting it, for the files included. For that, I use 7-zip ...

From your original question, I thought you wanted the browser that comes stock with the Evo, so it's the HTC browser. Here's the aosp browser, which I prefer, by the way ...
I was trying to install this in my Evo. Moved the stock HTC browser from system>apps to my SD incase I wanted it back. Then moved the AOSP into system>apps and tried installing...will not let me install, and now I cant get either browser working. What do I need to do?
Thanks
I'm in the same predicament. I flashed the AOSP Browser.apk via a .zip that somebody created since, for seom reason, I couldn't just push it to /system/app. Then today I updated to the latest fresh (public release of that tomorrow) and my browser stopped working. I pushed the htc Browser.apk and it wont work.
Can't find that zip, also not a fan of the AOSP Browser.apk so I'm stuck.

Try this. Move the AOSP out of system>apps onto your SD or delete it if you dont want it anymore. Then move the HTC back into system>apps. Then reboot the phone. Then go back into system>apps and tap the HTC browser to install. Mine just all the sudden allowed me to install it, Im assuming it was because of a reboot after moving the files around.
hey man, it doesn't work.
I mean when I copy the app to my phone (HTC Desire) which is on modded ROM (which doesn't have Sense UI).
doesn't the app work because of the lack of Sense UI ?
I mean I've tried everything.
even if the app installs, then it just force-closes.
and I've tried extracting Browser app from oryginal Desire rom from Vodafone, I did extract it, but when I "installed it" on a phone through the recovery mode, the phone just didn't see the app.
even though the recovery mode said the app was installed.

Hello pplz. I installed CM 7 mod over the weekend. All went well except for the gapps. I downloaded the gapps from the provided link and flashed it using recovery. But gmail, market and goggle maps failed to install. And they were also not be shown in the market. I searched the net and found the apks of all. Market and maps were installed successfully and gmail gives the error of application not installed.
Then using root explorer I copy the gmail.apk to the system folder n still smell problem.
Please tell me a way to install Gmail
Apk.

That is strange then. Personally, I successfully installed CM7 and then (during the same session within recovery) Google apps and had no problems whatsoever.
What kind of error message did you receive when flashing Google apps in recovery? Did you confirm that checksum of the Google appps file was correct?
And are you sure you downloaded this file:
http://goo-inside.me/gapps/gapps-gb-20110307-signed.zip
And no some other by a mistake?
Hi all,
i rooted succesfully my device following this method http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2364980 in his first istance and today i do everything again with new version:
Odin_v3.09.zip (if don't have it already)
recovery-clockwork-6.0.3.7-serranoltexx.tar.zip
GT-I9195_RootKit_v2.zip
Rooting is OK but still no WiFi Tethering (both version): the net is visible but when try to access the devices go in waiting for minutes without connection (tried with other android phone, ipad and win7 pc).
Thanks in advance to the beneficent guy who want to answer me
Hi, i have rooted it that way too. And mine teethering works.
Sorry there must be another Problem. not rooting itselve
My tethering works too. Just used it to download a massive 1.5gb file over 4G.
Try wiping your cache and flashing the latest nightly?

Oops my bad. Thought you mentioned that you flashed the custom ROM. The nightlies are of the custom ROM currently being developed by arco68, CM10.1.

The link you pasted is for rooting. The nightlies is a cm10.1 custom rom thats being updated 'nightly' or atleast once a day. Your problem however is based on your firmware and not because of root access. Try to flash to CM10.1 (26-08-2013 version) and see of your problem still occurs.
You can find it over at the 'GS4 mini Android development' section. (sorry cant link you atm because of xda app.)

I'm not sure If you will lose data. Since I don't know if it'll format the cache /data folder and dalvik in the process.
If I for instance update my CM to a newer CM i will not lose my personal data (I do that through CWM recovery without wiping cache or dalvik), not sure if thats the same for stock to stock flashing (which you do through odin), but I believe you're safe.
Last but not least you can always flash back to the prerooted stock rom If ofc you have the firmware (with backup) or do the rooting process yourself which is fairly easy.
Or like whosat mentioned before, flash to cm10.1 (which imho is better than Samsung stock roms).

I see now, perhaps mentioning debloating in your first post would be great!
The AllShare apps is the cause of your problem, like most AllShare plugins it uses the sharing functions of the phone like Wifi tethering and the other Samsung connectivities of which most of them is considered bloatware. Removing them on stock firmware will cause some programs to not work propertly as the system still thinks the application is installed (integrated into os) while you've deleted the system/app apk from your device.

I know this is the most secure way but not the fastest flash, root, remove (and i don't know if every set and every data stay in its own place).
So if someone can spend 2 minutes for me i'll be very graceful
Solved!
re-flashed stock rom, re-rooted, re-debloated (this time keeping Allshare apps ).

GJ, that was the only way im afraid. Simply reinstalling system apps wont do the job. Good that eventually things worked out well for you.

I WAS WRONG!
Now i controlled every step and the guilty is the rooting procedure:
flashing stock rom -> ok
flashing rootkit -> ko
nothing else in the middle.
How it's possible this is a only mine problem?
Finally (after tens of attempts) i understood:
the smoked gun is in the right hand of avast (its firewall), even using white list method and (obviusly) not blocking any system app.
Is this a notorius fact?
