Battery meter does not go 100% full! PLease help! im begging... - Touch Diamond, MDA Compact IV ROM Development

Hi guys! I badly need your help. My diamond does not go 100% full when being charged, it stays 60 to 75% only! It only gives me accurate status after i soft reset it. The battery life seemed to be normal. I've been searching for the answer and i cant find it...Tested a lot of ROMS, radios, Hard SPL, and installed a bunch of CABS but all of them did not work. Please help me guys! I dont know how to solve this. Right now im using energy ROM black hd 8.32. I wish someone would help me. Thanks.

in my experience, it is a problem of the ROM, so just switch to another. you may try my combination: radio v1.00.25.05, rom

hi
Thanks for your idea. I appreciate it. However, i have already tried a bunch of ROMS, yet nothing has worked. Also i tried to change/upgrade my radio and Hard SPL but same problem is showing. I hope there is solution on this. But i'll try finding another rom though... Thank you!

Pre flash...
OK try this as a test. plug the phone into the charger and wait until the leds pulse turns to all on. This means the battery has fully charged. Make sure your phones bluetooth, wifi and screen are OFF whilst charging. Once the pulse changes to all LEDs on press the power button and check your battery. If it's still not fully charged. Get ready to re-flash from your Storage. Run the phones battery down 1st Turn the phone off and let it charge then when all leds are on go through the MTTY flashing process and flash from your storage as it's quicker and will not drain the battery so much when flashing. After flashing you will have about 96% so will need to charge untill full. If this doesn't work You either have all the functions on like Backlight on full, all radio functions on; or you have a problem with the battery.

thanks djfuego. I really appreciate your help. I will try that as soon as i get the chance...I have to go over the mitty procedure since i haven't done it before. I wish I won't crash my phone. Thanks a lot for the advice! I'll give you the results soon.

Hi djfuego! I already did your advice. Did the mitty perfectly but nothing happened. Same problem occured. I even purchased a new battery. I might have choses the wrong ROM. i dont know...Im using the Jeev Sense Rom...I'll try other ROMS though.

Dunno.
This is the rom I'm currently using.

Always use roms designed for your phone.

thanks
What radio and Hard SPL are you using? Im using the unsigned hard spl 1.4 something. Which hard spl and radio can you recommend? Please help. Thank you! DO you think it might be the problem?thanks

HARD REset!
Any advise would be helpfull....
Looks like we got nearly similar problems

Today, at nearly the same time, same thing happened. But I remembered to off the BT so that no one can bluejack me....so why did the blue LED lite...and nothing could be done?
I really dunno why, when it happened, the softwares were the same factory default (I had no time to install any software) and the baterry level was 60%..
Rom version 1.66WWE
Radio:1.08.00
Hope someone can help me......PLEASE
azbro how often does that hapen to your xda?

Tweaks2K2
Hello guys..you need this super application to shut off those LED's for good, and thus saving power!
Many more tweaks in here too!
Enjoy!
A device that does a Hard reset by its self, unwanted, un-asked for, most allways has a problem with the battery or the connection to the battery.
This is true for a BA, have no prrof that it is also true for other devices.
leds use very very little power i renember buying a logitech mouse optical and the case wrapping had a red led to emulate the led in optical mice
that led was powered by 1 AA batt and lasted for ages
i doubt that people can measure much difference in batt life by turning off the green and even blue led
The Point
Listen here...negative comments are not welcome matey! LED'S can annoy people, so my FULL app helps eliminate this, and also many other tweaks enclosed in this fab app! Any minute power saving is always welcome! :x

I for one fail to read any negative comments about your application.
There wasn't anything negative about his post at all.. Bad day?
A loose SIM card will cause an intermitent hard reset, adjust the rails that hold the SIM in place, worked for me!
Battery
Hi All,
Regarding this issue. This is my point of view. I myself have this problem too. Currently I am using XDA II with WM2005. I surpose the problem comes from the software part *maybe the battery meter reading error*..
When using the phone, when ever I reach 37%, the phone will auto off, or maybe it hard reset? I dunno as WM2005 got persistant memory. But I know the situtation is the same, Boot up, blue led, den keep resetting, unles you plug the POWER SUPPLY .. not power thru USB direct from computer.
I tried a test, and am sure its software problem. I put a new battery on test, the battery went to 25% and then same, it shuts off like the previous.
So, anyone have any idea where to get a software that maybe.. reset the battery meter?
Me too, I had upgrade the rom from 1.60 to 2.06, when ever the battery hit below 50%, it sometime turn off by itself or hardreset even I did not turn it on.
I downgrade it back to 1.60 rom and working fine now.

you dint say if you are using some batery program you can disable radio and use pda with radio off and find out if its not radio thats killing the batery at 25% and that remove bad sim conection also
there are also some sd cards that request power even when not in use so thats a test to
use a program to check the batery full charge it and test
i have two bateries for my xda 2 one last almost twice the other the stong one was made somewhere in japan and the weeker one in china that doesnt mean anything cos i could find the companies envolved only where they say made in .....
hope thats helpfull

Qtek 9100

Hello , i have a problem with my device. i have qtek 9100 and when i make photos, my battery was low and device is turned off, when i recharge this device i cant turned on. i think my Windows lost some files? please help me.
David,
Please explain more... when you turn the device "on" what happens? If it is NOTHING, it may need to sit and charge for a while more. Although if it was plugged in soon after it died, I doubt this to be the case.
If it isn't that, do you see anything? Do you see the HTC screen?
Also, I have noticed on these devices I have to hit the reset button a couple of times to get it to come back when it is dead due to a low battery. Try resetting it while plugged in and see what happens.
Hello i can see white screen HTC Innovation and next blue screen with clouds with logo Qtek, and in this moment lights turned off and this look like system is stopped. nothing more dont happend. when i push buttons nothing happend and lights inside buttons dont turned on. i need this phone to my work. i do soft and hard reset, nothing...
Hmmm... it almost sounds like the battery isn't getting charged. How long did you leave it to charge? I am assuming that you are doing this with it plugged in to a power source.
I am sorry that I can't give you any better advice, without being able to physically see what is going on, I can't be much help. I am sure somebody on here will have seen this situation and might have a fix for you.
As a very last ditch effort, you can try to restore the ROM with the uploader that should have come on the CD with your device. At least the versions of the 9100 that we got had them, but this might be a regional thing. I would also avoid doing this until you have given up all hope on fixing it any other way. I would wait to see what other responses you get from the good people on this forum.
i charging this device all night. please tell me when on cd i can find new rom. i try but i cant find. i have warrany on this device so i am affraid do something alone. maybe you can tell me on this. when i connect device to PC my system cant find this device.i try connect when Qtek is turned on on this first screen. what i should do? how i can estabilished connection with PC to restore ROM and where i find this ROM.
Thanks

Has anyone seen such an issue (w/ radio) ?

Hello,
I've been a BlueAngel (SX66-Cingular Variant) user since a long time. It'd been working great. I re-flashed the original rom several times with the new BA updates/ roms from XDA's Ftp site and they all worked like charm.
ISSUE:
--------
Lately (since a month), I am experiencing some issues with it. It seems to be always searching for Network/ Service, all the time. An ongoing call will get disconnected. And very frequently i'll see a NO SERVICE notification. The NETWORK INDICATOR in the task bar will go to a High Strength and then Searching status. It is usually taking more than 30 mins to search the operator for me to make/ recieve any call. People trying to reach me inform me that my phone is Not Reacheable.
I've reflashed it to different BA ROM combinations but it didn't help.
I dont want to assume that it is a Hardware failure as i didnt do anything which can cause a damage to the instrument.
>>>>>>>>>>>>
What all can i try? What is the BEST SUITED ROM for this Device?
<<<<<<<<<<<<<
>>>>> ONE MORE QUERY :-
My Blueangel Back Cover Shows that this device is PH20B, but the ROM indicates that it is a PH20B1 Device. (This device is actually without a camera) Why do i see a difference here?
>>> USERS in INDIA or NCR Region: Is there any authorised/ recommended place i can get this device serviced?
Any help or suggestion is very much appreciated. Thank you all in advance.

Sx66 is now Dead
Desperate to fix this problem, i pulled the battery to power drain the BlueAngel. I even went a step ahead and shorted all the power connectors (which connect to battery) of the device with help of a metal needle. I placed the battery back and now the set is dead!!
I just can't believe this. How can i get this device powered on now??
Thank you all for help in advance!

Can anyone please help me on the issue with radio?? Any help/ suggestion is greatly appreciated!
Thanks!
Harry
glad to hear that, try radio upgrade only, try radio version 1.13.1 from the ftp
Any other suggestion please......
Thanks Xplod! I have installed Radio 1.13.10 with 1.42 (T-Mob/NL), but this issue still persists. This device has become more slower and lazy in the past few months.
I am still mad at the phone function of this device. Once half of the battery is consumed, It wont even allow me to make/ recieve any call.
Someone on this forum please help. Is there any New ROM update from Siemens (>1.33 Rom) please?
Also friends, how is the stability of WM 2k5 on this device? Would you recommend installing it just to see if it fixes this issue?
One Last Question: What is the BEST ROM combination for this device? Also any customized Ext ROM with all the patches/ fixes included. Links to the location are greatly appreciated.
Thank you all again for your time and help!

My artemis turn off

hi
i have a problem some time my artemis turn off i don't now why
can any body help me please
I have the same problem
For anyone to do a proper problem determination, we need to know what rom you are using, what windows version and pref. also what applications you are running.
tanks for replay
i use mw6 i don't use any rom
but the phone turn off and the battery show 60%
tanks
i have the same problem, i used different windows 6.5 roms and at this moment i use Artemis touch 4.02 full with cube. witch is a stable rom. with this rom i never had that problem but now i have. i also tried different radio roms. anny solution?
Could it be a bad battery? My phone's been charging at 16%. I do a soft reset and suddenly it's up to 70%. Then at 60% it shuts off. I turn it back on again and I get the red flashing light signaling low battery before it shuts off again. I turn it on again later and it shows 40%. I've ordered a new battery for myself. Hasn't arrived yet.
i also ordert a new battery, i hope this is the solution...............
i was having the same troubles with my artemis ,i read some posts about this
problem especially one talking about a cpu issue ,i followed his advice ,i just reflowed the cpu ,and all things became right, but it so early to have
a definitive opinion ,i will use my phone intensivelly for a month and post the results
i'm having same issue also. have try warranty my unit (change system board), but same thing happen again (can;t turn on when press power button). although using the original Dopod wm5 ROM, same thing happen after warranty.
now i'm using WM6.1 V34 by PDAVIET ROM till now it's working fine. if i've update any additional Todays Item (Pointui), same thing will happen again (hang)..

Request for work on Charging

As most of you know, we have had an issue with charging all nand flashed Android devices, put simply, unlike windows mobile, we cannot charge while the device is powered down.
This has caused quite a few problems for users who are unaware of this, there are many posts related to dead batteries, non-booting devices etc, and although there are steps we can take to avoid this, it is perhaps a more important issue than GPS or Camera.
This is in no way disrespect to those working on these aspects, I have nothing but admiration for the way you guys have improved upon the usability and functionality of our beloved gadgets.
However I feel that we also need to address this issue, it is, for many, a major stumbling block, which causes many to return to Windows mobile, with a sense of dissatisfaction for all that has been achieved.
Much as I'd love to work on this, my skills are not in this field, and have no idea where to start looking, although I suspect it's Kernel based, since it affects all builds.
So what I'm asking for is for those with more knowledge than me, to start throwing a few ideas around, see what we can come up with.
Thanks for reading this
zenity I don't think that is a big issue cause there is a workaround.
I already post this in Warm Donut thread and I learned from polyrhythmic
When your battery is dead, plug phone into the charger and when the LED turns orange power on the device. Then leave it alone to charge.
My battery drains out at least twice a week and powering on while LED is orange always worked for me.
I know this isnt the thread for work arounds but I wanted to put my two cents in...
When phone is dead (power button does nothing):
1. Plug in for about 20 seconds
2. Unplug
3. Remove and replace battery
4. Turn on
5. Plug in again.
Well while we are throwing 2cents in the pot...
My experience was thinking I destroyed my phone cause even after being on charge for some time after full battery drain it wouldn't come on with power button... Finally poked soft-reset button and it booted right up, and since then I've learned on complete drain, plug in for a couple minutes then hit reset and it comes on...
Ive also noticed the soft reset thing, but for me the experience is mostly quite different. I havent experienced a long delay between dead battery and charging maybe but whenever my phone turns off at 0% battery, almost every time it turns on automatically when I plug in the charging cable, and I get the charging sound notification during the android splashscreen. I'm using myns warm donut on nand.
The problem is that all these workarounds are not addressing the root of the problem, we cannot charge while switched off, and this is the issue I'd like to see a solution to.
I like the simplicity of the plug in and power on workaround though, didn't think of that, lol.
when you flash nbh kernel on device, you overwritting standard bootloader, that knows about system state, when you plugging charger in - phone waits sometime and starts bootloader, that starts kernel without display powered up (you can see it on flashing LEDs) - to fix this problem, we need dump that bootloader code from winmo nbh and try to include it to our bootloader.
problem is - nobody knows how to do that
Well that's an answer, lol, perhaps not the one I expected, but at least it gives somewhere to look

OK... that gives me and idea....
BRB...
Nevermind...
I had pulled apart the winmo nbh before, so I thought I would give it a try...
I think the HardSPL most of us install to get android installed is the issue.
I flashed just the spl that came with the stock HTC rom for tilt,
it wrote OK but didn't overwrite the HardSPL and didn't fix the charging.
I know some people flash the android nbh without going to hardspl first.
my question would then be...
can anyone that has the original stock spl on the phone charge android with the phone off?
I think we need HardSPL on our phones to flash the NBH anyway, however wouldn't that affect winmo charging also?

I haven't gone back to winmo in so long...
Does the phone charge while off in winmo after installing hardspl???
Yes it does, got my spare kais on stock winmo for a work related development project just now, it charges fine when off, hardSPL 3.34.
well that just shoots a hole in my theory then doesn't it...
the contents of the stock nbh are as follows...
00_GSM_0x301.nb (radio)
01_SPL_0x200.nb (Bootloader)
02_MainSplash_0x600.nb (Bootsplash)
03_OS_0x400.nb (windows mobile OS)
when flashing android nbh's we only change the OS
most of us have changed the radio as well as flashing HARDSPL
I have changed my Bootslpash as well but I am sure that isn't the problem.
like I said... I flashed just the stock spl back to the phone.
but it didn't change the HArdSPL.
however, if the phone still charges with the winmo OS and Hardspl
I am again at a loss.
just reread this:
HardSPL prevent you from accidently flashing a new SPL (you must use Jump/Soft SPL for this) and SuperCID your phone.
Click to collapse
so that explains the spl flash not overwriting hardspl...
not sure we want to do that anyway.
As far as I'm aware it's kernel related, but I really don't know enough about it to know exactly the relationship between the kernel and how it handles charging while off.
When switched off something must wake up the kernel in order to initiate the charging process, now why does it stop charging? That is the problem that has to be solved.
here is a quote from the wiki...
Why would I want to change my SPL back after I HardSPL?
Up until a week ago the answer you would have probably gotten is "you wouldn't." However with the release of the Official 6.1 HTC ROM there has been alot of speculation, and some real data inferring that for best performance of a ROM you should use the SPL that came with a ROM or at the very least (to put it another way) you should use a newer SPL with a newer ROM.
There is no definitive proof or specific results that can show you how one SPL will make your device perform over another. I believe I have conducted the most "scientific" experiments on this to date which you can find here. However which SPL you use is up to you based on how you feel it makes the device operate. I recommend however that you use either one of the HardSPLs or the SPL that came with your ROM. It is not recommended (at this point) to run your ROM with an SPL that is not matched to it.

maybe the SPL is looking for winmo...
do we need an android specific hardspl???
or like you said it may be kernel related.
Just looking for patterns everyone one in this thread is using the newest radio. Maybe try an older radio. My thought is that maybe the battery never went to 0 when you were using wimo and the newest radio (my case).
On a side note. It is really bad to let LiOn batteries go to 0. they are different than NiCad yet many keep the same habits. NiCad had to be drained for the memory problem that LiOn doenst have. I always turn my phone off at 10% if i cant get to a charger. Never need to charge with the phone off.
and look at that, as soon as i comment on battery stuff my phone shuts off and i have to charge with it off

Ok not the case, i just tryed with a old radio 1.65.x
Are we sure that its not working? Inside the OS the light blinks and in wimo it was solid. could it just be that once the SPL loads the kernal that the light turns off? I remember leaving my phone plugged in even though the light was off and it turned on charged to 40%(when i got to where i was going).
In the end I still think a good fix is to have the phone shut down at 5%. I remember wimo did this, and as much as you wanted to turn it back on, it just shut down(could be changed, yes). Much better for LiOn anyway. This would help keep the install from going corrupt.
