Hey, I love my s621 and all the awesome software that you guys have provided on the forums. I was wondering if there was an application that would allow me to make notes, such as:"clean your room" and also remind me to of the note at a certain( or at certain intervals) Thanks!

yes, it is called calendar and is on your phone.
lol, i guess that works(i never use it, thats y i didnt think of it) but i was hopin for maybe something simpler.
Thanks!
Wow!
I'm gonna apologize if I sound like a prick, but if people took the time to play with their phones a bit to learn what apps were in their device, and what they did, we wouldn't have questions like this where a simple calendar app can remind you when you need it to, it comes with all roms and is not complicated to use.
True...
I use Google calendar for all my needs and set it up to send me a text message 15 minutes prior to the event/task. Then I use Oggsync to sync to my phone from the Google calendar. May switch to NuevaSync soon thouh (free).

Google offers a Sync option for free. It syncs contacts and your calendar OTA (over the air)
Does that require a data package? All i have is unlimited text. Maybe it wont be too much to recognize on the bill?

Hello people. I am looking for an application to back up and restore a bit later my SMS Inbox, Sent and Deleted Items folders. Then, I would like to restore this back up on another device. These two devices are both HTC Touch Pro2. I had a warranty replacement, but I have many messages on my old phone. Like I said: I want to back up and restore my SMS Inbox, Sent, and Deleted Items Folder; And the same thing with my MMS folders. Thank You For Your Help!!

Microsoft's free MyPhone app will do that, along with your contacts, e-mails, etc...just not your programs. It backs them up to the cloud, so you can even access them through a regular web portal from a PC, if you're so inclined It's one of the most useful things (right out of the box anyway) that microsoft has ever spit out
myphone.microsoft.com
With the free util PIMBackup you can backup/restore SMS.
Don't know if it also does MMS?

so, yeah, it appears that myphone doesn't do MMS as well...I thought it was all along, until you pointed that out.
I've gone digging for another solution, and it seems that none of the personal-information backup solutions are able to grab the MMS messages too, including the one developed here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=299705
According to that dev, the issue is with how the MMS interface (by Arcsoft software) stores/references its info in a proprietary format that's not easy to interpret and utilize.
So, for the time being anyway, the only way to back up MMS as well is to do a full system backup with something like SPB Backup or Sprite

I'd never seen it before, and it does look pretty cool...but it looks like even that one doesn't capture MMS messages
Not sure about "capture" but I think it might send and backup MMS
Much better than that app Microsoft have produced, although there's no supprise there !

Hey Mods, I think this is solved and can be marked "solved".
So would it be possible to make an offical-ish looking app that works like MSN on blackberrys? I bloody hate the 3rd party IM clients im currently stuck with, I only care about MSN not AIM or bloody Yahoo.
I don't mind making up art work, I can't code to save myself however

what do you mean that works on blackberrys?
If you mean one that can communicate with BBIM then thats not possible, thats only for Blackberrys.
Also there is no official android MSN app. Ebuddy works fine, you only need to add a MSN account and then it wont show or ask you about anything else. It will auto sign in your MSN account when you launch your app and then you can start chatting away. There is nothing wrong with Ebuddy
msntalk is free on the market. working very fine for me. its not adfree but not that disturbing

No no for blackberry or to communicate, I mean something that looks like the MSN app provided by Microsoft/Blackberry, I am aware of eBuddy as I currently use it, In my opinion it is nasty but also the best of them, Why I was hoping to go about getting a official looking MSN app on Android
I would love a real MSN Client. Like in Windows Mobile and BlackBerry.
With:
- Change your User Icon
- Change your Nickname
- Change your Personal Message
- Offline Messaging
- Able to send and receive buzzers
- Able to send and receive files.
- While looking good without crappy iPhone-style bubbles (Looking at you eBuddy!)

I would be happy with just standard messages with the ability to change Nickname and personal message, User icon would be a bonus all the other stuff im not TO fussed about, especially since "Windows Live" has changed the send on files like photo to a sharing experience
Is it just T-Mo UK that blocks MSN via 3G, then (that is, the official version on :1873).
As far as im aware the "Official" version is made and provided by Three and only works on there network
Any pictures of this 'Three' version? Also, isn't there a way to reverse engineer their stuff
OT: I prefer to use Google Talk for chatting. Is anyone else using transports to connect to ICQ and MSN via Google Talk?

I have it on my phone but it's very basic.
I can't take a picture of it because I don't get a 3G singnal in my house. When you open MSN if it dosen't detect a 3G network it says Please connect to the 3G network and then just shuts down.

Thats why transports are used to chat to your ICQ and MSN (and other IM services) buddies from Google Talk.
As I said anybody that I actually want to talk to is on MSN, In the UK ICQ or AIM weren't really popular, so everyone of interest is on MSN
Correct!
And I said I'm chatting to MSN buddies from Google Talk App...
MSN Talk is the best I've found so far, does everything you want and has a very nice UI aswell.

Hint hint... there has to be a reason...
Joking aside, AFAIK the way to do this is to allow your contacts to be sync'd by Outlook, then iTunes will pick up your contacts and allow you to sync with your new phone.
Bu ti want to move the sms and mms to the iphone, i already did the contacts.. can you explain?
Does Google Sync support the syncing of texts from ios? Not sure right off the bat and can't research it at the moment.

Oops. My bad... the reply was intended only for the contacts part not for the SMS/MMS issue. I don't think its even possible since the way android 'stores' both is very similar to a database. Maybe the iphone has a similar set up but knowing how proprietary is everything with them I would just let it go.
Off topic...just wondering how you like the iphone?
We're comin from a pure power source.
Also, have you used SMS Backup+ on the Evo? I know it won't put your texts in the text application on the iPhone, but at least you won't lose them (you'll have them all saved in your Gmail, under the label "SMS").
Thanks guys, I have all my msg saves , no worries. I guess there isn't a way so far. I have not activated the iPhone yet , I just tether jailbreak it and playing with it, I love open source android
A program can help

The software costs $20, so do you think thats a price to swallow for basically a one time use?

There is no Facetime client for Android, so your question is pretty much moot.
If you mean video chat, Google Hangouts works great for me.
I use Skype also.

Thanks for your response. Yes, I mean video chat. With Skype the receiver must use Skype, too. If not, there is a charge (?) for using Skype without receiver using Skype.
Tried Google Hangouts and immediately I get unsolicited messages from people I don't know?
I always leave my chat clients offline. I only turn them on if I know I'm going to video chat with someone.
Skype is free for both parties if you both use the client and have Skype accounts.
Unfortunately there's no way to block unsolicited requests in Hangouts. I just add unknown people to my block list if they try and message me while I am online.

for video chat Hangouts is perfect, the reason you are getting unsolicited chats is because your gmail address was leaked to bots from craigslist, dirty sites etc and you accepted them into your friends. delete them and you'll be fine.

Thanks again for trying to help.
In that case, from your phone Hangouts, go to the unwanted person's message - then hit the menu button and click People & Options > Block XXXX XXXXX person
if you continue to get new messages from random strangers all the time then maybe it might be time to consider getting another gmail account and giving this one only to friends / family members
Thanks for all the help and suggestions. I think I will stay with Tango for now as it is working fine for me. The only shortcomings are:
