"USB Debugging, "Charging Only," etc. no longer displaying in my notification bar??
What did I do? What should I do?
Is there a setting somewhere that I flipped? Or has my perfect setup gone awry?
Any suggestions are appreciated.
You may have checked the box that comes up at the bottom when u plug ur phone in .. the box says"dont ask again" if thats the case then just go to settings and check it back on...hope this helps...

Hi guys,
Something weird happend yesterday. When I was watching a movie, my phone woke up from sleep mode and on the upper right corner a car icon was blinking, at the notifications bar.
When I drag the bar down it says: "Car mode is enabled, select to exit"
When I exit car mode, it appears again after some minutes.
How can I get rid of that?
Already tried rebooting.
I'm at stock 2.2 rom unrooted
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
If all fails, a factory reset.
Somewhere on the forum there is info this can be deliberately triggered by a short on the micro USB - wild card thought, but are the contacts clean on your cable and the socket on the phone?
PC recognizes the Nexus, I can see the icon in My Computer however it is empty.
The phone charges, but I have no access to the memory.
I've tried 3 different cables
USB Debugging activated? Fastcharge activated?
What I have noticed is that when you connect your phone with the screen off, the icon is empty. Then, if you just unlock the phone, it shows Internal Storage in the icon.

I can vouch for this. I was having the same issues before turning the screen on
Or, some builds of Android don't have MTP enabled by default. Go to Settings->Storage->click the overflow button in the bottom right->USB computer connection->make sure MTP is ticked. Give that a try if the above don't work

that's good. you should at least be able to turn usb debugging on. have you tried to get to the bootloader or recovery? does the screen look the same there? if so...
unlock the phone, use two fingers to pull the notification bar down, 1 inch down on the top right side is settings, tap settings, scroll to the very bottom and tap dev options, usb debugging is at about the middle of the phone.
i hope the below images will work for you. i just pulled them off of google searches. i havent used mikey's rom so i dont know if the settings are in the same places but it cant hurt to try

nope, unless you already enabled dev options you have to go into about phone, software, and tap a million times on one of the lines of info to unlock dev settings.
Then you can turn on usb debugging. Quite annoying.

man sorry to hear about this, what do you plan on doing with the phone?
get the screen fixed?
I buy broken phones is why I ask.
When I connect my phone via the USB cable to my desktop machine, I get the message "no storages found". I could access the storage (internal and sdcard) just fine in the past (haven't done it for a few months). The device charges fine so I don't think it's a problem with the USB socket.
I've enabled debugging mode and rebooted a few times but the problem remains. Any idea what to do?
Thanks
Albert
when you plug the phone in, swipe down on the screen to see the notifications. this will show an option of how you want the 2 devices to interact, one of which is "file transfers" - pic this and the pc will shut explorer, when you open it again you'll see the phone's contents.
