I changed scenes and HTC Sence FC'd on me, now every time it reloads Sense it crashes again.
Is there any way I can stop the scene from loading or reset only the sense options?
Failing that is there a way to do a factory reset of the device from boot?
It's an unbranded unrooted desire on 1.21 U1.
Any help or advice greatly appreciated.
if you go to settings/personalise/scenes you can edit sence
I can't access any menus, sense runs the menus and it will not load fully.
I've seen on the HTC site you can factory via Power + Volume buttons, this might be my only option sadly.
Woohoo, I'm back in business.
Managed to get into the settings by using the quick search to launch the settings app then clearing HTC Sense Data and defaults.
Just lost the widgets and shortcuts but all over data is 100%
Hi,
I'm stuck in the same loop but when I click the magnifying glass for the quick search box, nothing appears.
The closest I can get is holding down that button and the google voice search appears.
Any other help on how to get to the settings menu so I can clear the data and fix this problem? :-(
Thanks,
Graham.
I had the same problem after the OTA update to Froyo. I also could not do anything with the search functionality like suggested in this forum or on other sites. So the only thing I could do was to do a factory reset which helped. Luckily all my data is stored on an exchange and gmail so it synced back. I just lost my messages and apps I had.
Hey,
Yep, that's what I ended up doing.
Thanks for that,
Graham.

Click to collapse
You need to hit the search button at a specific moment during the Force Close loop. Personally, I just spam the button until the search box appears...

Hold volume down, power, and trackpad then it will allow you to factory reset

Okay well my phone is just the norm Desire Z NAM which has been flashed to a HTC stock image so all the apps from bell that doesn't work is not there, but i am noticing some either software problems hardware problems with the keyboard
When you have your keyboard open and after you sent a message and you press the lock button with your keyboard open, does your screen go off and come back up? and when you just leave the device with the keyboard open does your screen like go off sleep and suddenly wake back up. like when your in a car falling asleep and then suddenly a bump wakes you up.
I am just wondering if anyone else out there is having this same problem, maybe its not a problem but a thing to help prevent accidental bumping of the lock key?
Oh and anyone with problems of your Desire Z having problem of restarting randomly and must pull the battery inorder for the phone to start up....I read its the fact that the contacts are bad? possible
Right, I have a rooted DHD running CM7 if that matters, but I have been using widget locker for a while, and decided I want to take a break from it, so I turned it off in the widget locker settings, then I lock my phone and unlock it to find that there is absolutely nothing apart from my wallpaper and my status bar, so I have tried a reboot, comes back to the same blank screen, battery pull does the same, I cannot hold down home to bring up recent apps.. And I don't really want to have to flash a new rom/restore from a backup..
So I was wandering is there a way to force start an app through ADB or similar? For example, if I could force widget locker to come up, I could re-enable it and the problem would be gone, or if I could force start my launcher I could go into the settings etc, can this be done or am I stuck with restoring a backup/flashing a new rom? Thanks in advance..
Also, irritatingly, when I hold the power button to bring up the power menu my launcher is visible for about 0.5 seconds, and I cannot interact with it, because I am in my power menu
Ok, I fixed it, for anyone who has this issue, what you need to do is phone yourself from a different phone, answer the call and then press home to bring the home screen up, go to widget locker and re activate it Phew..

Did you get this issue fixed? I'm getting the same issue now, what's worse is that my home button doesn't response after I use it to turn on the phone.
