Hey I was wondering if it is possible to install debian, unbuntu, etc over top of android, and if so how to go about that. I saw on twitter a someone said it could be done, but i have my doubts and that is why i am asking
It's possible but its not a full blown OS and its kind of useless since desktop GUIs usually don't scale down well to smartphone size. The way that it is done now is you setup a chroot environment and boot up ubuntu in the chroot and then use vnc to connect to one of your local ports. AFAIK its slow.as hell.

I'm sorry, I can't really help you any further. My Machine doesn't have space to use Virtual Box, I was just trying to point you in the direction of what looked like the most useful website.
So a basic question....on my samsung devices ive been able to get rid of it and just not sure how to do it on the new nexus through titanium backup....I'm using the stock rom on an LTE nexus 7 running JSS15J.
I just want to disable all OTA updates right now i already got the notification and i dont want to update...is there a process that i can freeze to stop them from coming? I know theres gotta be a way to free or unistall the process anyone care to help me out thanks in advance...
Why would you but want to update? Makes no sense

I think u read that wrong. I want to disable OTA updates from coming through but even when I do disable the notification the wakelock goes crazy and keeps running in the background.
I got your point fine, still doesn't make any sense as to why you'd want to gimp your device like that

If you clear the cache that gets rid of the update but it will probably redownload....but at least it won't notify you of an update until it redownloads

I've done some searching and googling with no luck (go figure). I'm one of the unfortunate ones with a MacBook....now that fire water works with mac I need to get back to s-off. I usually do everything on my work computer but I'm getting ready to jump on a flight.
This may be a stupid question, but I have HTC Sync Manager installed but does anyone know how to remove it without getting rid of the drivers? I can open the folder for the manager but I'm not sure exactly what I need to remove. Thanks!

I just went through the process of unlocking the bootloader and getting my M8 rooted. First thing I went to do was use titanium backup to get rid of all the apps I hate so much. Apps like, T-Mobile my account, name id, and TV. Other apps that seem to be stock with the M8 itself that I don't want as well, like: kid mode, parent dashboard, Twitter, Polaris, etc. I go through select them all and it seems to remove them no problem. After using my phone for the rest of the day I had to reboot my phone for some reason, when it powered back on all the apps repopulated! Any else have this issue or know why this has happen? I know it's not a major issue but I hate seeing apps on my device that I don't want or use. Thanks in advance!
