I've done some searching and googling with no luck (go figure). I'm one of the unfortunate ones with a MacBook....now that fire water works with mac I need to get back to s-off. I usually do everything on my work computer but I'm getting ready to jump on a flight.
This may be a stupid question, but I have HTC Sync Manager installed but does anyone know how to remove it without getting rid of the drivers? I can open the folder for the manager but I'm not sure exactly what I need to remove. Thanks!

ok so we now have root so I'm guessing now I can completely remove sense so can anyone give Me a walk thru I can use Linux and cmd etc and I'm not scared of doing it if needs be and I'm guessing I'm also going to have to push launcher 2 so anyone got any advice for me?

I've rebooted both my Mac and my EVO several times. I've also uninstalled UR3 and reinstalled the .dmg file several times.
I plug the phone into the USB and select USB debugging and nothing ever changes. Can anybody help me out?
My EVO radio version is 2.15.00.11.19 and that qualifies!
Any help would be appreciated.
Im on windows, but I know you have to install the unrevoked drivers on windows. Is the mac maybe the same?

According to everything I've seen, the drivers are "built in" on the Mac!
Yea I think ive seen that too. Hmmm...have you tried fastboot usb mode? I never had to do it, but I Think (dont quote me ) you can use unrevoked via the fastboot, maybe search around for unrevoked via fastboot. Might be something there

Ok heres another maybe windows only. Did u install and uninstall htc sync, or is it only for windows? You know what apparently im the wrong guy for this question as im on windows , jus tryin to help lol

I run bootcamp on this machine, so I am trying to do it using the Winders installer right now. Let's see....

So, evidently, some of these EVO units won't work on the Mac side. I successfully rooted the device using bootcamp and Winders 7...dang it.

Did you check the box that sometimes shows when deleting drivers that says something along the lines of "Delete the stored driver as well"?
Also, just to be sure - delete all Android/KF related drivers while the KF is plugged in, then unplug it, run install_drivers.bat from KFU and then plug in the KF.
If you're not lucky, you'll probably have to resort to the manual installation method for drivers. More information here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=23747671&postcount=2

Off topic comment: Windows makes it so hard! Its like Windows does something different each time you want it to do a specific thing. On the other hand, Linux is clean, Stable, fast, and persistent. Just thought I'd share my thought

Even with drivers installed the phone still wont get recognized. It charges. Just wont detect it. At one point it did. Then all i seen was that the usb connected notification on my phone kept disappearing and reapearing then eventually stopped. Any suggestions

I was unable to get my s3 recognized on W8 at first too untill i used the drivers on this page W8 Drivers
Uninstall any current drivers
Restart Computer
Install drivers from linked page
At this point I plugged in my phone and it went through the process of identifying and all that good stuff and still wouldn't be seen until i did another restart, all has been great since

When you install the drivers for the phone, set compatibility mode to win7 and it should work fine. I personally think win8 sucks I got the pro version for $15 bucks thru that loophole when it first went on sale, used it for about a week and went back to win7 I have alot of games that won't work on win8 so **** that

Works fine with mine, and I didn't install any drivers.... Uninstall all the drivers and Kies, and hook it up... Windows Update will get em for you...
Hi folks, used this forum many times for help but this is my first post.
Firstly I just want to say sorry if there's already a thread on this and if so, rather than having to repeat yourselves feel free to point me to it.
Secondly I've searched and searched for many methods to root this damn phone of mine (samsung google galaxy nexus gt-i9250). I've tried to do it using solely the phone and also computers… my problem is on a computer I can't get the drivers installed, tried everything but still no luck.
Anyways I tried to log on to my banking app and it refused as it says my phone is rooted so I tried a few checker apps and they also said im rooted.
But I tried another checker and it tells me I'm not rooted. Anyways after this I turned my phone off and on to find I had a supersu icon.. So I clicked onto it to see what was going on and it tells me the binary needs to be updated.
So I try and then it fails and I'm back to square one.
So again sorry if this is a repeated post and also if its in the wrong section… but if anyone has any idea on how to help me please leave a comment as I'm stumped and have no more ideas.

Try to update the binaries from its settings..
Still nothing... Thanks for your input, I'll keep trying and if I get any further I'll post back.
Think I might try wiping phone and starting over see if that works.
