Do any of you guys think the iPhone earphones and mic will work on the desire?? has anyone tried it, i think the mic placement is so much better on the iPhone setup, plus the forward and back buttons on the htc seem to be around the other way???
Thanks,
JD

I figured I let my loss be to the benefit of the forum. I bought the dre ibeats can confirm that they do not work with the Atrix at all. i also have the first generation beats by dre that don't work as well. I know there are newer models of the large ones so I don't know if it would be the same for all of them. I am getting the bose MiE2 later tomorrow, and i will tell you guys if they work. If any one else has tried getting high quality sounding headphones to work with the Atrix please chime in.

Lol I'm not trying to be a troll or anything but Bose and Beats By Dre are NOT high quality sounding headphones. Try some Klipsch or Shure.
Best way to no troll is simply to say what headphones you think are better. maybe say why and provide a model number for people to look it up. Thanks in advance if you take the time to provide the information. I think it would prove very constructive to the thread.
P.S. After some preliminary searching the shure's that would work are the 100 series and are of lower quality. I used to have 200 series. The Klipsch are pretty much the same. All the best ones only control apple products. I'm hoping to be proven wrong so i can buy great headphones.
Hmm.... i don't recall the headphone jack actually supporting a microphone input as well. Mind if i ask why you're searching for such headphones?
Not sure if they have any headphones with a microphone.... but i'm quite fond of Sennheiser's offerings. I have the CX 300 noise cancelling earbuds, and while i don't use them very often for listening to music (Unlike the odd people i see driving down the highway with the telltale white earbuds in their ears.... idiots... both for the obvious reasons, and because Apple's earbuds blow), the times i do i really enjoy them. They sound great.

I'll take a look. To answer your question. I take public transit to and from college. I hate hearing people on the train. I also hate the interruption of a call where I have to take off my studio headset. I would rather have a small pair that allow to answer the call, and then get back to what I was doing quickly.
Guys seems that this headset works with Atrix..

considering on buying one of this? did someone tried?
I can confirm that the RF3 ENVi Natural Wood Stereo Earbuds microphone works with the Atrix. Very good sound quality as well, better than some Klipsch s2s I had!
I can confirm that the bose mie2 doesn't work either.
whoo hoo!

His app seems to work for me. Using Altec Lansing uhp336 (rebadged Ultimate Ears Super.fi 3) with the cable for the Ultimate Ears Triplefi 10vi and the button and mic appear to work.
They aren't the top of the line, but the mic on these skullcandy Full Metal Jacket headphones work well for me. w ww.skullcandy.com/shop/fmj-shoe-blue.html
And they sound great for the price.
I'll probably use them very rarely and would like something cheap (<$15). Any suggestions?

I'm about to buy the motorola OH20 model. On ebay we can find it for 10 bucks.
Sent from my GT-I9000B using XDA App
Just so you know, on the skullcandy headphones, you'll need the headphone button control app for the in-line headphone button to control your music.
FYI, tested BOSE MIE2i headset - mic works, the buttons do not. I tried the above mentioned Headset app, but no luck with buttons either. This sucks a bit :/
meelectronics m11p work fine on my atrix
any comment on how some of the known functioning (mic and buttons) headphones/earbuds are for running and working out? I'd like to put my atrix in place of my ipod sometimes while running but I hate the earbuds coming loose and having to constantly adjust them.
For reasons that don't matter here, I got a set of Klipsch s4i earphones/mic.
Klipsch said up front the control buttons will only work with the iPhone line, says there's a magic ichip actually in the control stick.
So while none of the buttons (NONE AT ALL) work on the Atrix, the sound quality, clarity and definition, is astounding, better than a lot of expensive audio gear I've heard over the years, and the mic functions 100% on calls as well.

How's the bass on the RF3's? Thanks.
Hey, anyone have any experience with bluetooth headphones?
I am in the market for a sub-$100 pair, and i prefer HEADPHONES(covers the ear) to EARPHONES (goes inside the ear). I have done some searching, but reviews for them are all over the place. Hard to tell which ones have good sound quality(the $500 Sennheiser m55 are out of the question). and which are just crap
The main ones i am looking at are:
Motorola s805
jaybird
Subjekt Pulse
Jabra Halo
Accessory Power GG-AIR-BAND
Sony
Any input is greatly appreciated.
Thanks
I have this one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16875982220

anyways its comfy has good sound quality too.
this one you posted: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16875982220
looks strange but im curious to try it it has controls on it and it looks weird lol.
Hi guys,
I'm looking for advice on which mic I should buy to record a concert I'm going to in a few months (preparing early!) on my Galaxy S2.
I don't really want a huge microphone, so I'm looking for one that's either a clip-on or around that size. After a little bit of research, I've read that cardioid microphones are the best ones for this purpose (not omni-directional).
Has anyone had any experience shopping for microphones for this purpose? Or any advice? Would appreciate any input
Oh, and it has to have a 3.5mm jack!
Thanks

So i´ve used serveral Mic with the S2 and you have to know, that all solutions would work only in mono not in stereo. And you need the 2.3.5 firmware. You have to buy also a special y-adapter (look around for Iphone they have the same pins). Then it works. Please take a look also, that you can´t proove the incoming audio level is not to high or to low. So, the best thin would be if you buy a mic, that comes along with a record-volume control.
have a look on this thread.

So, it seems like this is the post that everyone is waiting for
So you're saying that it's possible? This is great! I'm waiting with the Iphone vs. Galaxy decission because of the external Mic question
Hey. Recently got a new job and while working I can listen to music. So I've been looking for some decent headphones (on/over the ear only, no earbuds or behind the head types). Looking to spend around $80-100
I'd like them to be comfortable for at least a few hours. I'd like a mic, too. Volume controls don't have to work, but I'd like a play/pause button. Isn't there an app that can make buttons on your headphones work with the phone?
I've been looking at the Klipsch Image ONE's. Look pretty nice, look comfortable, but no idea if the mic works with the GSM, or the controls.
Saw the Sennheiser PX 200-II i, which look a little flimsy, but I'm still considering them.
And these Marshall Majors I can't link. ;p
I also saw the Hesh 2, and Sol Republic's On Ear Tracks.
If anyone has any input on these, or wants to throw some new ones out there, that would help a lot. Just want to make sure I get something with decent sound, a working mic and at least a play/pause button. I'll consider Wireless/Bluetooth ones too.
Thanks, guys.
Just from browsing forums people seem to like the Klipsch S4A ear buds. They come with an android app for the button on the ear buds.

Yeah, I know. I did lots of browsing. But I said I'm not looking for earbuds. Mentioned that in the title. Thanks, though. I'll edit my original post to clarify more.

My mistake then, I was thinking about android controls and the Klipsch S4 was the first thought that popped into my head.
Ive just bought the RAZER electra headset in black, and i can say they are the best on ear headphones ive ever owned! over here they were about £50 so im not sure how much that is in dollars!
Really good trebble, nice middle tones and the bass is brilliant when turned up! it comes with two 3.5mm jack to jacks (the headphones have a 3.5mm out on them that you can lock the jack to jack in) one is just a straight cable, the other is one with a built in mic.
Unfortunately there is no Play/Pause function. But im sure you could program the volume buttons to pause and play when you held them down for 3+ seconds? like the good old sony's walk-man phones!
Let me know if you need any help!
Cheers!
Skullcandy's Roc Nation Aviators are really awesome, don't let the skullcandy brand scare u away, some of the most crisp sound out there. Remote works with android too, I think its like you have to hold the buttons instead of pressing but either way, it works and is awesome...and you can get them on ebay used for like $60 or new for $100 rather than the $150 in the store
So, I'm buying my OnePlus One on Friday, and id like some new headphones for the ride to work to go with it. Would this headset work with the One? It says in the description that it works for iPhones but it doesnt mention Android.
If not, does anyone have a suggestion for a headset which would work on the One, I don't really want to spend that much and I also need a 1.2m cable at least as I'm pretty tall and need the length.
Thanks!

They should work, but honestly, maybe try getting a better pair unless they are only used for this one journey
What would you suggest, I think the JBL's are too pricey for me and I like discreet earphones for when I'm working
Why won't buy oneplus silver in-ear??that is also very nice
Buy skull candy OEM earphone they are really good or you can also get oneplus one official earphones oneplus bullet or silver one or also jbl
Why not these
I am using the audio technica ath im70s and i can stand by them. Excellent sound for such an affordable pair. May be slightly out of your budget but they are one of the best price to sq ratio for these entry level earphones.
obviously works all the headset with jack connector works fine...
