I figured I let my loss be to the benefit of the forum. I bought the dre ibeats can confirm that they do not work with the Atrix at all. i also have the first generation beats by dre that don't work as well. I know there are newer models of the large ones so I don't know if it would be the same for all of them. I am getting the bose MiE2 later tomorrow, and i will tell you guys if they work. If any one else has tried getting high quality sounding headphones to work with the Atrix please chime in.

Lol I'm not trying to be a troll or anything but Bose and Beats By Dre are NOT high quality sounding headphones. Try some Klipsch or Shure.
Best way to no troll is simply to say what headphones you think are better. maybe say why and provide a model number for people to look it up. Thanks in advance if you take the time to provide the information. I think it would prove very constructive to the thread.
P.S. After some preliminary searching the shure's that would work are the 100 series and are of lower quality. I used to have 200 series. The Klipsch are pretty much the same. All the best ones only control apple products. I'm hoping to be proven wrong so i can buy great headphones.
Hmm.... i don't recall the headphone jack actually supporting a microphone input as well. Mind if i ask why you're searching for such headphones?
Not sure if they have any headphones with a microphone.... but i'm quite fond of Sennheiser's offerings. I have the CX 300 noise cancelling earbuds, and while i don't use them very often for listening to music (Unlike the odd people i see driving down the highway with the telltale white earbuds in their ears.... idiots... both for the obvious reasons, and because Apple's earbuds blow), the times i do i really enjoy them. They sound great.

I'll take a look. To answer your question. I take public transit to and from college. I hate hearing people on the train. I also hate the interruption of a call where I have to take off my studio headset. I would rather have a small pair that allow to answer the call, and then get back to what I was doing quickly.
Guys seems that this headset works with Atrix..

I can confirm that the RF3 ENVi Natural Wood Stereo Earbuds microphone works with the Atrix. Very good sound quality as well, better than some Klipsch s2s I had!
I can confirm that the bose mie2 doesn't work either.
whoo hoo!

His app seems to work for me. Using Altec Lansing uhp336 (rebadged Ultimate Ears Super.fi 3) with the cable for the Ultimate Ears Triplefi 10vi and the button and mic appear to work.
They aren't the top of the line, but the mic on these skullcandy Full Metal Jacket headphones work well for me. w ww.skullcandy.com/shop/fmj-shoe-blue.html
And they sound great for the price.
I'll probably use them very rarely and would like something cheap (<$15). Any suggestions?

Just so you know, on the skullcandy headphones, you'll need the headphone button control app for the in-line headphone button to control your music.
FYI, tested BOSE MIE2i headset - mic works, the buttons do not. I tried the above mentioned Headset app, but no luck with buttons either. This sucks a bit :/
meelectronics m11p work fine on my atrix
any comment on how some of the known functioning (mic and buttons) headphones/earbuds are for running and working out? I'd like to put my atrix in place of my ipod sometimes while running but I hate the earbuds coming loose and having to constantly adjust them.
For reasons that don't matter here, I got a set of Klipsch s4i earphones/mic.
Klipsch said up front the control buttons will only work with the iPhone line, says there's a magic ichip actually in the control stick.
So while none of the buttons (NONE AT ALL) work on the Atrix, the sound quality, clarity and definition, is astounding, better than a lot of expensive audio gear I've heard over the years, and the mic functions 100% on calls as well.

I know there's a lot of wired headsets out there, but they all seem to be for the iphone. Especially the ones with mic and music controls. Looking to replace the crapy headset that came with the phone.
Found the Plantronics Backbeat 216. They say these are for the iphone and other smartphones with a 3.5mm jack. Wondering since the MT4Gs OEM headset has a mic and music controls, would this work? If not, can anyone recommend?
How much are you looking to spend? I'd suggest the Metrofi series by Ultimate ears. It's a top notch brand and they have a good amount with mics.

I've used the Altec Lansing BackBeat plus Mobile that I picked up from my local Apple Store.
Tried most of them in the store but these sound the best for the price ($49.95). They are small earbuds and fit nicely in your ears. I like the cloth cords, they seem very durable and don't stick to my clothes (or each other) when I have them in.
There are bad comments in on the Apple Store for the product reviews, but those are mainly from people who complain about the sound the cloth cables make when they rub together, or from the fact they are not noise canceling like others.
Here's the link if your interested:

I'm sure you can probably pick them up for cheaper from newegg or amazon, but I didn't want to wait for them to be shipped.
Good luck with your search.
I'm currently using the Sennheiser MM 50 iP's and they work wonderfully for the under $40 price tag.
I got a new Sennheiser MM60. The sound and microphone are exceptionally good.
A side note: the button cannot end calls, but you can advance to next track with rapid double press.
just wondering what you guys use.
i'm looking for in ear headphones with some sort of music control/mic. under a hundred bucks is great, I love bass.
so far i've found these two guys: Klipsch Gaming earbuds, and Klipsch s4a's. I hear the s4a's have issues with some phones though.
I should mention I use power amp

problem solved. gonna use the ones that came with our phones. bass is solid, and so far they are pretty good at blocking noise.
if i find the mic/vol controls to not be worth it, i'll just buy a pair of half decent earbuds without mic control. if the OEM samsung earbuds dont provide me with mic control that I like, I doubt any expensive off market buds will do me justice.

If you want BOSE, they make a mobile headset that has mic and volume controls. It's called the MIE2i. Also, Beats make a pair called the iBeats. They are an in ear headset with GREAT sound. I own both and use them interchangeably. I will say though I give the MIE2i's a slight edge because the eargels are the most comfortable I've ever worn.
BOSE = Buy Other Sound Equipment
Klipsch S4A, made for android. S4i sounds good, when mine need replacing, I'll buy S4A's.

As far as in-ears under $100 are concerned (which Im assuming your asking for) I like the NuForce NE-700M over the Klipch s4a. Ive had them both and i feel like the highs are more crisp and it has a bit more low frequency extension.
Also if you care about bass more than clarity the AIAIAI Swirl have plenty of bump and an excellent asthetic.

Do either of those work with Android as well as S4A? To me, that's a big selling point. My S4i's are perfectly suitable sound-wise, but the lack of control sucks.

The NuForce has one button/mic combo. One press pauses/plays, two presses skips the track. The button is honestly a little flimsy though so if button is your number one concern
As for the AIAIAI it looks like the new one has 3 buttons but i cant attest to how well it works as i had an old version of the swirl with only one. I can say that AIAIAI's whole deal is that they are really well designed as far as the tangible parts so i would assume that they took a lot of care in designing the buttons.
what earphones set for Samsung Galaxy S2 SGH-t989 has best microphone ?
hi,
I've already lost the earphones that came with my new samsung galaxy s 2 SGH-t989. 1 of the reasons I got this phone was for the vlingo voice-operability that makes it good for use while driving. Does anyone know what the best ( or at least a good) earphone set is for this phone, especially with respect to the microphone quality?
thank you in advance.

Mine's got a Philips SHE8005. These are in-ear type with a volume slider, mic and a button which acts as either to answer/end an incoming call and a pause/forward button for your music app. The wire's also rubber-coated to give you a firm grip on it.

Sorry mate, I got this last year from a local music store here... no idea where to get it in your area though
to the op, i think the mic and ground cables are switched on iphone connectors you should try switching them if you want, just google
I thought one of the hardships of switching from my iphone to the note 2 would be the incompatibility of the headphones I bought that have a built in mic and controls.
I read that the klipsch S4i headphones weren't compatible with the GS3, so I figured it would be the same with the note2.
NOPE! The center button on the headphones works to pause and play music, and the mic works for making calls, talking to Google Now, and recording voice memos. One glitch though, if I activate Google Now by long pressing the Center button, the headphone mic doesn't work. However if I activate Google Now with the search widget the mic works...
I have a Bowers & Wilkins C5 which was for my iPhone. I was sad that it's not compatible with original Note, but it works with Note 2 as what exactly you said. All controls work including mic but a little glitch with Google Now, which is not a big deal. I'm very happy because I like my C5 sound. Love Note 2!

The issue is the long press is baked to Google Now and there is nothing you can do to change that, at least until it bothers a dev enough to investigate.
There's an app called Headset Button Controller in Google Play which adds ability to quadruple-press the headset button for volume controls. What the command does is changes the volume to a preset amount (e.g. 20%) and progressively ramps up the volume to max (e.g. 100%). You can change the rate the volume increases.

Get the image S4A model instead. Same thing but designed for android. I have a pair of meelectronics M11P+'s on their way which are very highly regarded over at head-fi (as an android headset). Wouldn't call either set "audiophile" quality exactly. But they're both very solid iems if you must have a mic/remote.

U do know there's really no difference in them but the volume controls. The android version have one button. I bought some monster isport, Mic works and they done fall out during workouts like my s4a did, perfect

Saw these Sony earbuds (I love my Sony MDR EX38 - it's really made for the iPhone but I bought it for the audio drivers and the built-in mic, pause, play and skip track by double-tapping the middle button -- built-in volume controls don't work on non-iPhone devices). Had it for a couple of years now. The item above looks promising. It says it works with Android products.
Does anyone know if the Bose MIE2i will work with the Note II? They have a center button and two separate volume control buttons.
For anyone who happens upon this thread I hope this post can save you some money and get you a better headset for your hard earned dollars than what the likes of monster/beats/bose/etc. offer. It's not that they're "bad" per se but you're usually paying $100-$500 for headphones that get destroyed by sets that cost $20-$100, all because they have their marketing/branding machines running around the clock convincing everyone they're the best.
Here's a list of headsets with android compatible controls that can be had for $30-$65
Meelectronics M11P+ --- $54.99 MSRP --- $30 - $40 on amazon
These are the ones I just grabbed for myself. Based on everything I've read, these offer the best overall sound quality in this list and they are some the most comfortable IEMS (in ear monitors) you'll ever wear. In the end, comfort was the decideing factor for me because there will be days where I have these in for 10 hours+
Meelectronics SP51P --- $69.99 MSRP --- $40 - $50 on amazon
These came a close second for me and I almost bought them. Overall sound quality is apparently very close to the M11P+ but they offer 3 interchangeable ports you can screw on to the back to change the sound. You get "Natural", "Enhanced Bass", and "Extreme Bass". Reviews are somewhat mixed but most agree that the natural port lives up to it's name and the enhanced bass port should be very pleasing to most people. The extreme bass port, on the other hand is WAYYYY over the top and delivers a sound closer to what you'd get from a pair of beats. Some people would ovbiously love this but it's not my cup of tea because it ruins the mids and highs. Still, you're essentially getting 3 pairs of IEMS for $40-$50.
Klipsch Image S4A --- $99.99 MSRP --- $65 - $80 on amazon
Ok, everyone is aware of these. This was the last set I owned and I was very happy with them. These are also extremely comfortable thanks to Klipsch's patented oval ear tips. They are the most comfortable IEMS I've ever tried and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anybody if they needed a set with some brand appeal. That being said, they are definitely over priced. Better sound can be had for less. However, as this thread demonstrates, there aren't a lot of other options available for android if you just want to walk in to a store and buy a set.
JAYS a-Jays One+ --- $59.99 MSRP --- $30 - $40 on amazon
These are a pair of bass heavy 'phones. They aren't my cup of tea but I include them for all the beats lovers out there. a-Jays > Beats according to TONS of people and they cost $30 a pair. 'Nuff said.
Do Your Research...
There are tons of other options out there. If you give a **** about quality sound and/or your wallet, I strongly encourage to head over to head-fi.org and do some research on any headphones you may be considering before you buy.
Anyone facing the same issue? , I damn sure some of us would be facing this issue with akg, and I tried all the ear plugs provided, but to no luck... Planning to buy new earphones, anyone hav any suggestion on fixing this?
Those AKG earbuds don't work in my ears either, but my 17yr son said they are his absolute favorite and fit the best.
I guess everyone's ears are different enough that some designs don't work.
The AKG's just don't seem to go in deep enough into my ears. I usually end up getting the $40-$60 SkullCandy earbuds and like those (which my son says hurts his ears).
They are good as a backup pair (when you can't find your primary ones). Sound quality is somewhat okay, but the fit really makes it difficult to be a daily driver.
I don't have an issue with them falling out but they do lose their seal letting in ambient sound and loss of bass. They sound great when a good seal is maintained. I typically use them when I'm on a tractor or other equipment for hearing protection and to enjoy music.
No comparison to my UE10 pro custom IEM (of course) but better than say airpods.
I have not tried other sized tips though.

Something I do with ALL in ear headphones is create custom moulds for your ear. Google Proguard custom earplugs and you get a kit to make custom ear plugs. While theyre soft, press the headphones(without the buds) into the mould and let it set. Then cut out a small hole for the audio to come through and youll have the best sound possible from those headphones as theyre custom to your ears.
Loads of videos on YT too

Same here. The AKG buds is some of the best i have got with a phone. My first pair was from Galaxy S8 i have used them a lot at work, and they are great . Now i have another pair from Galaxy s 10 and i understand why Samsumg have kept this model for 3 gens. And they are Hard to kill the wires are strong
From earbuds, 2 wires will join into 1. At the join, there's small ring. Pull that up. It will stay....
U need a "wet willy" first then put on your headphones
I ordered these a while back, i like them and sound way better than the akg.

Sadly I'm so unlucky all earbuds don't fit in my ear for some reason... I have glasses so no sport buds too... Headphones for me
Did you try switching the silicone cushions/focusers? The ones in there to begone with are mediums or so I'd say. In the box your phone came in there should be a small and large set. Try that
Search Amazon for those spongy ear-bud tips. I got a box of 10 of them for less than $10 and they make all my ear-buds fit better and are more noise canceling.

Fix your ears or get a new pair of ears lol
Looking for portable/ wireless earphones
For me AKG works best. It has got crystal-clear sound and deep powerful bass. Also they are tangle free, because of the fabric braided cable.
However i am looking for portable headphones or wireless earpods.
Do let me know the best options available.

Apple AirPods Pro - if you want good sound quality and comfort; Jabra Elite Active 75t - if you want active and passive noise cancellation. The latter has a more balanced sound but you would have to listen to both to make a sane decision. You might not like either of those in the end.
