bluetooth stereo headset for listening to music on a mogul

I know the question has been asked here before, but what i'm looking for is not one of those single ear head headsets. I want a decent, price should be not too expensive (read, I'm not spending $500 but $100 would be a good price), and work well with the mogul.
If it can handle taking phone calls as well, that's great.

I read some reviews on this and it didn't get really good reviews that is. Anyone have any other recommendations?

I am pretty happy with my new Plantronics Voyager 855, which are convertible, mono/stereo.
They are probably not the ultimate in sound reproduction, but they suit my purposes well. I am an avid classical music fan, and have a good ear. I like the convertibility feature very much. I can listen to music with just the main earpiece, or with both.

Before I bought my S9s, I read the reviews on Engadget. They received more reviews than any other brand. While a couple read, "these suck," the majority said that the quality was top notch for a b/t headset.
The problematic parts will be the earbuds, which, based on your head size, may or may not fit all the way into your ears. Also, the entire headset is an active mic, so when talking on your phone while riding the subway, your caller will hear everything.
For me, I only hate it when the high back collar of my ski jacket interferes with the back of the head strap. I don't have this problem indoors, at the gym, or in warm weather. I can even listen to music while lying on my side.
Before you choose any headset, ask to try them on for fit. You won't have any problem with audio quality.
I sync my headset to my laptop to listen to music, and it automatically switches to the phone for calls. I also connect it to my phone for portable music without re-pairing.
I would like to back-to-back compare these to the Bluetrek ST-1. But no retailer in my neighborhood sells them.

Voyager 855 vs. Motorola S9
I own both the Voyager 855 and the Motorola S9. I find the stereo sound quality on both of these headsets to be nearly equal (very good quality).
I find myself using the Voyager 855 more because they are more comfortable. The S9's get in the way when I'm laying back in the passenger seat of the car.
Another pro for the Voyager 855 is that the telephone quality is superior, not to mention that you hear the conversation in BOTH ears, instead of just one.
I keep both because the S9's are better in wet climates (I live in Portland, OR) so if it's raining out and I'm going to be outside, I put on the S9's.
When I first bought the Voyager 855's, I thought the sound quality was awful. When I went to return them to the store I bought them and complained of sound quality, the rep showed me how to properly insert them into the ears... WOW what a difference when you have these things seated properly in the ear!
I think you would be happy with either headset. Before you buy, make sure you understand the return/exchange policy of the store. These things are not cheap and you don't want to get stuck with something that doesn't fit your needs/lifestyle.

After a few days' of use of my Voyager 855, I found that the volume of the main earpiece seems very low. When I use both earpieces, the volume is much better.
I have contacted Plantronics, who have offered to replace them. I wonder if I am not fitting the earpiece properly, as you were doing? Was your volume low until you learned to insert them properly into you ears?

Anyone planning to get the Sound Station dock?

This one seems to have flown under the radar a little in the Accessories forum with most interest focussed on cases and cables, but I'm really interested in getting this.

It does seem a bit pricey, but I like the idea of having an accessory that doesn't require another damn cable/adapter. At this stage a lot of unanswered questions, particularly how good the speakers are and how much a hit on the battery life it'll make, but I'm definitely getting this if the reviews are good.
Anyone else planning on getting this? Has anyone seen any reviews/videos of this yet? I've googled it a few times but haven't seen any hands-on experience of it.

hmm...under the description it says that the power is generated from the battery, which means the sound dock does not charge the SGS2 while plugged in and playing music.
What a bummer.

This Sound dock doesn't have a speaker! It just reinforced the sound.

Are you sure? In the Clove description it says:
'This dock is compact and has a sleek design along with an in built Seine acoustic amplifier and built in spakers.'

Just look at the picture
There is no usb input, just a little hole where the S2 Speaker is.
There was a video, but i can't find it

There is a very similar universal sound dock which a mate uses with his iphone.
Basically it ust amplifies the sound. Its a piece of engineered plastic which uses no power.
If this is the same then i wouldnt bother.
Cheap pair of PC speakers would be way better IMO

Galaxy S II wont work with Philips headset

I recently got Philips SHH4507 handsfree. I got it as a present. But this doesnt work with my Samsung Galaxy I9100G I mean, I am able to hear through the earphones but the mic doesn't work nor does the volume controls work!! I am so disappointed. Actually this headset seems to be optimised for iphone, ipad & ipod. Please help me..............
What could I do??
Also please suggest me a good headset OEM or IEM optimised for very good music listening experience on I9100G. Reasonably priced!!

check out these not bad klipsch s4i and sound quality just perfect for price range otherwise i would always use Sennheiser can be pricey but well worth every penny spent £295 for ones i use in nightclub while dj`ing and never looked back but to be honest i woudnt spend so much for my phone and i think the samsung ones good enuff for everyday use (just my opinion)

What about Klipsch Image S3 Headphone? Do you think they are equally good? S3 is priced lower. My budget seems to be in that range (of Kilpsch S3)

I used Philips Tapster Bluetooth Headphones with my S2, it's perfect!!

Mine's got a Philips SHE8005. These are in-ear type with a volume slider, mic and a button which acts as either to answer/end an incoming call and a pause/forward button for your music app. The wire's also rubber-coated to give you a firm grip on it.

Looks like a good buy!!

Seems so tempting to me. I am now searching to buy it in India. Can't find it in ebay.in

i have the oneil over the ear type and i changed the cord with one that have a mic its great
dont need to spend 200+ for some overpriced red corded double named stuff

to the op, i think the mic and ground cables are switched on iphone connectors you should try switching them if you want, just google

Best bluetooth mic headset?

I'm looking for a pair of bluetooth earbuds with an in-line mic that has good noise canceling AND good sound for music. Is there such a thing?
I looked at the bluebirds x, but reviews consistently say the outgoing noise cancellation is worthless. The Go 2 from Plantronic doesn't even have noise cancellation at all, so that's out.
Any suggestions?

I know that you wanted a recommendation for earbuds but have you (and other people reading this looking for an answer) considered some on ear headphones? Obviously there are cons to giant on ear headphones but there are some magnificent pro's that make headphones worth considering. anyway, for the lower budget, there's the tenqa remxd. great quality for the price, but not much else to it. a classic look as well. it fits with the Nexus as a nice understated good looking device. on the higher end is the Jabra revo Wireless. Jabra is well known for their Bluetooth headsets and the Revo Wireless was a pretty nice one i was looking at. a bit overpriced but there really isn't anything else that has the features for a similar price. and on the really high end is the Parrot Zik. high quality but high price. i recommend a look at the Revo's myself just because theyre at a reasonable price range with some cool stuff

I already have some $400 Sennheiser over-ear for just listening to music.
What I'm looking for is something small that fits in my purse that sounds good and I can use to talk to clients in a noisy setting on my nexus. So it's got to be earbuds.

The BlueBuds are awesome. Test them and return them if you don't like them.

I personally don't do much wireless music streaming, but I have heard good things about these:

Depending on your personal situation, maybe the older model would be a better investment because this new one seems to have a much shorter range compared.

I have these and they're not fragile in the least. Actually quite durable - I toss them in and out of a small gym bag. The "loop" is extremely flexible and covered in soft touch rubber. The battery life/performance/sound quality are all great.
The only downside for me, since I use these for the gym (lifting specifically), is anytime I lay down they want to slide off my neck. For general use and running these are amazing.

I have the Motorola Buds, and I love them. I haven't had any issues whatsoever with them.

Moto Hint

Who is planning to get a Moto Hint? I am curious how the experience of having bot ha Moto 360 and the Moto Hint will be. I wonder if the two devices will compete for your words or if they will have a synergy making having both worthwhile. I do a lot of talking on the phone so a nice bluetooth headset really interests me.

the only thing i'm worried about with the hint is that it will really look like you're talking to yourself

Oh dang I actually haven't heard about these but I think they look like they'll be a pretty good product for those who use such devices. I would splurge but I don't think I would actually use it very often...

I was curious and found the Moto Hint last night at Best Buy. It fit great in the ear and was really comfortable. I could hear callers clearly. Issue is that callers could not hear me well. I was told that every few words were clear then there would be a gap of silence while I continued to speak. I tried with the Note 3 and iPhone 5 and both had the same results. I then covered the sensor making the Hint believe it was in my ear and spoke directly into the mic about an inch from my mouth. Callers heard everything I said clearly. It appears that the BT mic is too far from the mouth to pick up speech properly. I had high hopes for the Hint and am disapointed that it didn't operate as advertised. Will give it the benifit of the doubt and swap it out for another one before giving up.

Make sure the two microphones are aligned and pointed toward your mouth and not your eyes. You may have to consciously rotate the back of the unit upwards slightly when you put it in the ear so microphones line up such that they point to your mouth. Found this in user guide and it works great with this slight adjustment in ear.

where do you live? i cant seem to find the moto hint on bestbuys website. Looking at motorola website doesn't seem like they are on sale yet T^T i wanna try this headset out pretty bad lol

I also don't see it on the Best Buy website or Amazon. I found it at the Best Buy in Alexandria, VA. I decided to try another unit since the first was so bad. The Best Buy at the Pentagon City location had five in stock. This one is much better. Tried it last night and the person on the other end of the call could hear and understand everyword I said. Not so good this morning so I will follow gadgetg's instructions. I really like the look and feel of the Hint. Will try it for a few more days before I make the decision to keep it or not. My Plantronics Voyager Edge works great, but definitely not as attractive and discreet as the Hint.

Got the Hint yesterday at my local best buy in Miami and I really want to like it but I'm still on the fence. Calls are nice and loud with no issues with being heard. My issue is with streaming audio and how quiet it is compared to the call volume. I have the call volume at the lowest setting it's so loud but the streaming has to be over 3/4's just to be able to hear it. It also sounds a but tinny but I imagine the tiny speaker is doing its best. I turned off the Moto voice always listening feature since I'm using it with a iphone 6+ and I imagine that will also help a bit with battery life. If anyone has any suggested settings to improve streaming volume or battery life please chime in. I got the best buy 2 year insurance for $20 so I can always trade this one in if they ever come out with a different hardware version later on.

My wife really wants the Gear S when it launches and thought the hint would be the perfect accessory for it. Just worried she will lose it!

Is hint can used for other phone has not motovoice? Any limition will be?

Yes you can. I'm using it with an iPhone 6 plus and it works great. The only limitation is you can't use moto voice. I have to press the mdf to call Siri.

Thanks for info. I read some review say the stream sound like music is low and difficult to hear, how about yours? And any problem when talk, need to adjust you head or just feel free to talk in air?

Call volume is very loud but audio streaming and music volume is much lower for some reason.

I posted this on the Motorola Forums, but those of you with a Hint or thinking of getting one may find it useful
A US friend recently bought me a 2nd gen Moto Hint on his visit to the UK and I've got to say that the microphone
performance is really erratic. I did loads of testing and searching on the internet in case the problems were:
a) Related to the Nexus 5 I was using
b) Related to a faulty unit
c) Related to me not using the correct "gel" or positioning it in my ear correctly.
After a LOT of digging and reading the few reviews out there, I found that in quite a high proportion of the reviews I did eventually find, people mentioned about how others heard them; that people speaking into the Hint came across as quite faint and distant - exactly the problems I was getting.
A bit more digging and testing later, and I managed to eliminate both a) & b) from the equation... using a really crude test
involving a Bluetooth recorder app, I uncovered the following (Hope this helps!):
Option1.
Believe it or not, I can get consistent clear audio recorded - and subsequently call quality where others can hear me
very clearly if I... Take the Hint out of my ear and BLOW HARD into the front mic before quickly putting it back on!! I know it sounds crazy, but every time I do this, the Hint's mic works flawlessly for me (I should add, there is no debris or or anything else blocking the hole to actually be cleared and my ears are clean )
And this trick works whatever the orientation of the Hint in your ear is.. it can be positioned so the mic is level with your eyes, pointing a bit further down towards your mouth, whatever... this to me, completely dispells any previous info about rotational position in your ear being critical to mic's pick up (no consumer device suitable for everyday use should be that sensitive to position IMHO)
FYI, an audio engineer friend of mine thinks the sudden burst of white noise caused by blowing into the mic, might re-set the noise cancelling audio sampling start up processes but without pulling the thing apart and reverse engineering its code, they're at a complete loss to comprehensively explain why this should work..
FYI 2, The same audio engineer friend thinks the noise cancelling algorithms are broken in some way which is the root cause of the mic pick up being so poor out of the box, and could be fixed with a software update. They've got an older Moto Elite Sliver with Mics positioned no closer to the mouth than the Hint and the mic audio quality in comparison is damned good without having to resort to tricks..
Option 2. A bit more fiddly but also do-able, is to hold your hand up around your ear "Secret Service Agent/FBI Agent" style. Don't actually touch the hint, just have a couple of fingers brushing against the top of your ear with your palm and wrist towards your mouth to help channel the audio from your mouth into the Hint's mic. YMMV and in someways, having to do this to get enough audio to the mic kinda defeats the purpose of having such a small Bluetooth earpiece - may as well hold your phone up to your ear instead!
Anyway, I hope my findings help someone who's had problems, might've left it in a drawer etc.
