How do you access tasks - Touch Pro2, Tilt 2 Windows Mobile General

I am on a Sprint Touch Pro2 upgraded to WINMO 6.5 and I just realized there was no way to access tasks synced with Outlook.
Where are the task? There should be a whole tab just for that

Have you looked in the Office Mobile folder on the Start screen? That's where Tasks (the one's synced as part of Outlook) are in the custom ROM I'm using.

Or you can create a shortcut to the task on you're homescreen or programs tab depending on wich sense you use.

got it
there was a syncing issue and i had to re-pair. Now I have task in the Outlook folder. It was not there before

Alternative to Outlook

I don't use outlook and when deciding on an alternative was looking for something which would allow me to Sync with Win Mobile.
I now use Thunderbird which has e-mail, tasks and calendar ( http://www.mozilla.org/support/thunderbird/ ) and have found this free programme for syncing to my device - http://www.finchsync.com/.
Easy to install and setup and works a treat.

???
I am using it with WM5 and the latest IMate ROM.
Couldn't get on with finchsync, everytime it said that it had updated my contacts, when clearly it hadn't... Birdiesync worked first time, was fast, and did a very sweet job of carrying out its intended task .

This has the advantage over Finchsync in that it sync automatically with activesync, but at the time of writing it does not deal with the calendar, which to me is more important.
I have never had a problem with it not updating contacts, it always works for me, and $19.95 is not worth it for just contacts.
It may be worth reconsidering if they release a calendar update that works.
I am using it with Windows Mobile 5.
how do you compare Finchsync to Outlook?

Pushmail with subfolder and HTC contact manager

Hi all
I have a question. I've configured MS Pushmail. My mail account have subfolder, which are synced by active sync. Unfortunately, the HTC contact manager doesn't show me any related contact mails, which are stored in the subfolders.
Any ideas?
thanks
I coem from Hermes with manilla 2D and it tok me a while to figure out
It's simple: disable Touch Flo 3D, and then you will have the menues in outlook allowing you to chose whih folders can sync with your Windows server... For soem reason Touch Flo 3D doesnt show all the menus. It REALLY pissed me off to lose that much time to find out. On top of it now in whatever application I worry some optiosn are misisng just because of that... HTC should have made ALL Win 6,1 menus available with TF3D
I have the same problem.
syncing subfolders with server is no problem, but the mails or not shown in the email page of the contact, only the mails in the folder "Postvak IN".
does anyone have a solution?
thanks

You don't need to turn off TF3D it is available in a menu.
Goto your inbox>Menu>Tools>Manage Folders> now you can select the folders to sync.
(I have the dutch version so the names of the menu items may be different.)

yep... it would be realy nice, when this issue will be fixed.

Whats a great todo / tasks manager for ppc

I'm trying to find a descent easy tasks replacement program.
Palm had a pretty good todo manager. I'm struggling to find any for the ppc. What does everyone use?
The "tasks" program that comes with winmo sux.
i do use the normal tasks from windows itself..
ofc in combination with titanium
--> it does what is needs to do
If you are under WM6.1, try Wktask !
I've saved a text document called ToDo to my 'Programs' List, then when I click on it in Manilla I get to a straight text file, in which I can write todos/random thoughts which are all there in one document at the touch of the button. When completed, I can just delete the line!
Simple, but effective, just a list and a keyboard.
so far the best one is E-native Showcase task manager
Ok, there seem to be a bit of confusion, well I'm confused anyway, the OP mentions tasks and To Do, but I think to him they are one and the same.
Both E-native Showcase task manager and Wktask are WM 'Task Managers', I think what he wants is a 'To Do' manager to link with the Tasks in Outlook (mobile & desktop).
For my input I used to use SPD Diary as a Today Plugin, the task (To Do) functions were fairly good, I'm not using it now though as I use TouchFlo.

You're right Steve, I'm looking for a todo list. Unfortunately winmo calls their version of todo "tasks"..... which is synonymous with the process manager!... d'oh.
What do you use to make TODO's with touch flo?
I use shopping cart myself, very finger friendly and its essentially a tasks/todo list anyway. I create different tabs down the bottom (groceries, wishlist, todo etc).
Appearance wise it seems to fit in very well with Touch Flo. Just add the shortcut to the Touch Flo programs tab.
You can also set it up to use just 1 text file, save automatically and reopen same file when program is launched. You can have multiple files if you really want to, but I don't bother.

I use PocketInformant to manage my tasks/to do items.
This is a great app for managing numerous categories, projects, etc. Also if you are trying to use a methodology such as GTD, this app is fantastic for this kind of things.
On the other hand, if all you need is to maintain a very simple list, then PocketInformant would be an overkill.
I hope this helps...

I just use the normal tasks app, with a program link in the start menu, I don't mind opening it that way, but the program itself is so old and unuser friendly.

Any advice before upgrading to WM 6.5

T-Mobile
WM 6.1 Prof Stock ROM
Plan on upgrading from 6.1 to the T-Mobile upgrade 6.5 this weekend. Does anyone have any advice or tips?
I have all the software that I installed in the original cab. I also have notes on any settings or fixes. Did screen prints of all my email settings, data settings, device, phone, anything else I could think of. Made a copy of the storage card. Do Active Sync with my desktop Outlook so have a copy of all my PIM data and took a copy of my PIM.vol.
Anything that I am missing? Should I buy backup software and take a backup just in case?
What about the stuff on my storage card like opera cache, outlook attachments program files - should I delete those?
yeah. dont do it. 6.5 and sense are memory hogs. all you get in return is eye candy and wm closing background programs left and right because its out of memory by the end of the day. 6.1 is just fine and runs better on a tp2
